THE STORYLINE IS INTERESTING, AND SOMEWHAT UNIQUE. THE CAST ADDS TO THE OVERALL TALE AND I THOUGHT THE COMMENTS RE THE "YAKUZA" AND THE CHARACTER OF KIKU HELPED A LOT.

I WILL ASSUME THERE WILL BE MORE STORIES AS IT SEEMS JACK AND REPLACEMENT WILL INEVITABLY "GET TOGETHER".

I ALSO FEEL THAT THAT LADY'S INTRODUCTION WAS A VALUABLE ADDITION BUT THERE SEEMED TO B E A DEFINITE SIMILARITY TO ANOTHER DOG NAMED "GNARLY".

This is far from being "literature". Not very well written, rather immature prose - but the story line and plots are sustainable and at least quantity wise you get a lot of value for money. In other words, if you have nothing better to read handy (and it seems very difficult to find high calibre mystery and thrillers lately) these tales do while away the time.

Sorry Mr. Greyson, but this character is too whiny! I want him to man up and stop acting like a girl. The Replacement character is more of a man than Jack, and her I like when I do not normally relate to the female characters. I could only make it through two and a half books, before Jacl's whimpering drove me to Robert B Parker.
Feet Are Not for Kicking (Board Book) (Best Behavior Series) :: Diary of an 8-Bit Warrior (Book 1 8-Bit Warrior series) :: The Escape of the Deadly Dinosaur - Secret Agent Jack Stalwart Book 1 :: Agent in Place (Gray Man) :: A Summer Tale of Four Sisters - and a Very Interesting Boy

I never heard of this author, but Kindle Unlimited showed these books, and I am really glad it did! I truly enjoyed the trip through the lives of the characters. Nothing bored me. Nobody irritated me. The stories flowed smoothly and seamlessly into each other, and there were no conflicts from one to the other. That's rare. The plots were considered and the author obviously cares about his characters and their life stories. But now I'm kind of dancing and waiting for the next one! Actually, I read the next one after this compilation of 4, but I am waiting for the next one that was promised! I do hope we'll see a lot more from this author. It feels as if he has a lot to tell us. He has developed the characters to the point that readers can care about them as 3-dimensional people, faults and all.
You have to read them in order, which I actually enjoy, because there's nothing more boring that reading a synopsis of the books that came ahead of the one I'm reading now. They're numbered! They flow! Don't pick up 4 until you have read the first 3! But do pick them up and read them. Just do it when you have time to read them, because I lost some sleep, not wanting to stop.

I read this book on kindle unlimited. Buy the way if you are an avid reader this is an excellent way to go.
I do not like any books that take a while to get into the character. This being said Christopher Greyson does an excellent job of getting us involved in these characters. I do not want to give anything away, so I will kind of talk around the next part. There is one character that Jack has to deal with, that makes his life miserable. The story line of why this is, is pretty much weak and almost nonexistent, at least in the first four books. The feeble and slim attempt at a small excuse does not make any sense. One expects for this to be somewhat flushed out, or at least give a plausible reason. I am hoping that somewhere in one of his books this will be explained, and thereby clear it up to some satisfaction.

However, that being said, the rest of the story is excellent. Each book keeps you wanting more. You do need to start his books from the first one, because Jacks personal life builds on itself through each book. However, each book has a main story that is all its own, and they are excellent, for the most part. All except the one main issue that Jack has to deal with in every book that still has me confused as to why. But that is OK, I can deal with it.

I am still giving this 5 stars because the writing is excellent, and easy to read. Mr Greyson pulls you into the story and I know that when I finally read all of this series I will be sad to see it go.

I really enjoyed the Jack Stratton mystery series. Jack is a very likable character who gets involved in all kinds of adventures. His friend, Replacement/AKA/Alice was a little annoying in the first three books. She was a bit too much obsessed with Jack but her character evolves and matures by the fourth book. Initially, I thought her nickname of "Replacement" was strange but when I understood its origin, I came to think of it as endearing. There are a number of interesting and very likable characters throughout the series; Aunt Haddie and Kiku come readily to mind. There are others I would like to mention but I don't want to take any of the mystery away. These are great short stories, packed with action and well written.

I loved these books I laughed. I have never laughed in a thriller before but these books are so wonderful. Lots of thrills, and mystery but also lots of love and fun. Can't wail until the next books, Notice I said books my only complante is Mr. Greyson does not write fast enough. I keep looking for his next book.

Give this author a try and I know you'll be a fan like me. Can't write anything else as I hate revues that give story away.

TRY THEM YOU'LL LOVE THE STORES

Jack, as most of Greyson's cast, has integrity hewn from a rough past. He doesn't dwell on it too much, but the sympathy he elicits from his readers is well earned. And the good he does for others opens reader's minds and hearts. Enjoy and be well. Shellie from Sunrise.

I have thoroughly enjoyed this whole collection and am saddened by getting close to the last one and not wanting them to end. Because of my career and the story of my life, I love to read books about law enforcement officers and anything to do with adoption and/or foster care. Actually, instead of reading, I choose to listen to Audible books, as the stories come more alive to me. I love books that cause me to laugh aloud and also tear up at times. Each one in this collection has done that.

I have devoured every book about Jack Stratton in record time! I love how Mr. Greyson can spin a good mystery thriller without resorting to excessive profanity and grotesque graphic violence. The romance parts are sweet and light- which I think is way sexier than play by play strong sexual content. Mr. Greyson is a gentleman- and that comes through in his character, Jack. You CAN be strong and sexy without being rude and crude. He proves that in his books.

I love this series. Mr. Greyson is a wonderful storyteller, he knows how to bring his characters to life. His books grab you from the beginning and keep you until the end. Once you start reading his stories you can't put his books down until you finish. I'm really looking forward to reading more from this author.

Not a terrible series. The mystery is fun and the idea of our main character Jack starts out interesting. Unfortunately the stories become redundant in style and plot. The main characters, Jack and Replacement take turns being illusive and troubled about their past which keeps them from communicating to an irritating level. They are not very believable, nor is their relationship: Jack is a mature, 26 year old troubled with his past and Replacement is a spunky and childish 19 year old troubled by hers. He takes her in to live with him because of his loyalty to her as a little foster sister. She wants a relationship with Jack like a preteen crush in the first books which is only cute at best. She dangerously intrudes in and on his police job, gets him fired by invading his computer and he just weakly scolds her like a child the whole time while doing nothing to stop her. Way too abruptly and undeveloped, Jack realizes he's in love with her after he almost dies....totally unrealistic and forced. By book 3, they are "dating" but she now she acts like a wounded little girl, (her turn to suddenly be affected by her past and become non communicative) and brushes off all affection, (This is the girl who used to walk in his bathroom while he showered in the first books; now she won't even let him kiss her in the kitchen or hug her waist when she is at the computer!) ....How is that attractive to a 26 year old man?

The entire series of Detective Jack Stratton books is absolutely addictive. I love that the main character, Jack, is a veteran. I am, too, and Christopher Greyson does a fantastic job of expressing the aftermath of soldiers coming home from war in these books. The books are very well written. I would definitely recommend these to murder-mystery fans. But, I warn you, once you start reading, they're very difficult to put down. Keep them coming Christopher Greyson!!

This series is a great collection of mystery books. Plus, the books give a lot of history about the characters. They give the reader a good perception of why the characters respond to situations the way they do. A well rounded book collection.

I love the Jack Stratton mysteries! I would write more of a review but cannot wait a second longer to locate and read the latest in the series “Data Jack”. If you love a good series, you will love Detective Jack Stratton and the other characters like Replacement.

I liked this series very much. Greyson is a good writer and he also knows how to tell a good story. His characters are believable and they develop over time. I was glad to discover his work. So much of the writing for Kindle Unlimited is very poor. It's refreshing to find someone like Greyson.
