How can a story be told flip-flopping between the past and present so flawlessly that you simply can not put the book down? Allison Winn Scotch manages without a hitch. I am a huge fan of her work so was thrilled to receive an early copy to read and I will say this was my most favorite of her books- and I have loved them all! This story was so raw with emotion and the characters were so well developed, while you start to favor one over the other, the next chapter you change your mind again. This book is more than a love story...it's about forgiveness, loss, betrayal, and letting go. I could not stop reading this book- make this a must-read on your list!

Allison Winn Scotch just gets better and better. This is my favorite book so far that she has written. She knows how to pick a pertinent topic in our society and play out the plot perfectly with lovable characters who are constantly reflecting inwardly. The vulnerable characters show a human side that is so raw and true that you feel like you are going on their journey with them. As Ben Livingston and Tatum Connelly meet and fall in love, unpredictable life changes occur to lead them down a complicated relationship. I would love to read a sequel!

FIVE STARS for the story, the writing, the dual point of view! FIVE STARS for being everything a book should be!
This is a unique writing style written in dual point of view but the twist is that Ben's POV is from present to past. Tatum's POV is written from past to present.
Truly an amazing read and I can't say enough without giving anything away! This book leaves you wanting so much more because through the ups and downs you are cheering for them the whole way! You feel you are taken into the story and you never want to leave.
Truly one of the BEST books I've read to date!

Interesting concept having the male POV go backwards from the intial meeting and the female POV to go forward from the initial meeting. Wanted to like the main characters Ben and Tatum but his shallowness and her blindsightedness made for predictable "conflicts". The 9/11 theme and Savior complex Ben wrestled with became stale quickly. Tatum(really don't like that name, gives off a negative vibe) works her way through Hollywood with noble efforts and become a cog in the wheel of the movie industry with the predictable consequences of marriage, family and career. Interesting exploration of dealing with an addicted family member and what one can do to help the addicted person. After a while I didn't care about the non-linear telling of the story.. I thought the ending was convenient, neatly wrapped up.

It is definitely an interesting way to present a story - one side of it in order, one side of it backwards, so you read a chapter about them now, then one of them in the beginning, etc. You have to get used to it or it just seems jumpy, but by the end, I liked it a lot. It made my brain think about things in a different way, and made the story more original, for sure. It's a he-said, she-said story about a Hollywood power couple and what went wrong (and right) between them. Even when I was frustrated with the chronology at the beginning, I still definitely wanted to know what happened in the end.
Overall, a good story, a different format, and an unique perspective on a relationship.

Cleverly and uniquely plotted, this story of a marriage crumbling is told from two different points of view. I loved it and was a little nervous about how the story unfolded, but it was seamless for me as the reader. The motivations of both characters were realistically described and caused me to question some of my own actions in my marriage. Oh, how the Ego can get in the way! The underlying themes of grief, ambition, and addiction mixed with dynamic and complicated family relationships all resonated. A fantastic book. I loved it!

I’ve loved all of Allison Winn Scotch’s novels, but Between Me and You is her absolute best. To write part of a story in reverse is a true feat—and not only does Scotch pull it off, she does so in a way that makes this book impossible to put down. Tatum and Ben are instantly familiar and wholly believable; Scotch expertly examines the ways that ambition, obligation, and tragedy can shape a relationship as the two characters fall in love, start a family, and struggle with life-changing decisions over the course of nearly two decades. Pitch perfect right to the very last page.

Another great read from this author. She has a knack for writing about life as it is, not as it seems. Relationships are complex, and the relationship in this book is no different. Book told in alternating voices and points of view. Very realistic on how hard it is to keep a relationship alive, let alone with the pressures of Hollywood. Very well written, characters are real and flawed, relatable.

Absolutely loved this book!! I loved getting both POVs and the way it was told forward and backwards. I won’t lie and say it was easy because it wasn’t watching the rise and fall of the relationship/marriage. I really connected and understood even when it was painful. As I was reading I could see how the marriage would suffer eventually. But, despite the years, mistakes, hurts, disappointments, truths, resentments beneath it all there it was.....love. In all it’s ugly and it’s beauty there was love.

This story is told in the perspectives of Ben and Tatum. I have to say that I was a little confused at the beginning as one story is told backwards and the other forward. Once I had that figured out, though, I found it to be a very unique and interesting way to tell a story about love, the difficulties in a marriage, and forgiveness. It was very well done.

I bought this book on a recommendation from a friend and I am so glad I did! I took my kindle on a beach vacation and once I started reading, I didn't put the book down for two days. Its a love story told in such a unique, compelling way from different perspectives and through alternating time lines it will have you on your toes wondering how the author pulled it off. The main characters, Ben and Tatum, are written so richly that they stay with you long after you finish. They are the kind of characters you want to know what happens to even after you finish the book. The story is about love, marriage and heartbreak and is just as sweet and funny as it is smart. I was rooting for it to end a certain way and without giving anything away the author really does keep you guessing until the very end how her characters end up. If you are looking for your next romantic comedic novel and want one that is insightful, relatable, endearing and skillfully told, this book will not disappoint you.

IThank you to the publisher for providing me with an early copy. I loved this book! It even made me cry and laugh, and books rarely do that.
I found the story of Tatum and Ben's marriage and its ups and downs to be so very realistic in many ways. I loved them both.
Someone mentioned the part about 9/11 in another review and I found that chapter very relatable too. What a fantastic read!

I got halfway thru this book and finally gave up. I was so tired of reading about the character's angst and pain and suffering and sorrow and frustration and unhappiness and myriad problems. I ordered it based on the rich recommendation on the store, and I definitely would NOT agree that this is a good book!

Finally there’s a story that’s not happily ever after, that shared the pain and depth of real life. This is a beautiful, heart-breaking love story with so many twists and turns, I’m currently on my honeymoon, but couldn’t put it down. It’s a book I dreamt about trying to work out the ending last night!

I started this book on Tuesday and finished it this morning -- I literally could not put it down and read it whenever I had a spare minute, which often turned into twenty! While it took me a few chapters to get the back and forth in time, once I did, it was rewarding to discover where the characters were at in their lives on my own.
I highly recommend picking this book up as you're sure to enjoy it!

The story of Ben & Tatum...told in reverse sequence from each of their points of view. I didn’t quite catch that Ben was telling his story from current to past and Tatum was going from past to current but once it was pointed out to me, it made the book a little easier to follow. I thought it was genius the way the story intertwined from each of their perspectives and I loved how it all came together. I highly recommend this book to anyone.

Loved the story, but found all the back and forth so confusing, it made it difficult for me to keep the story all straight. If it had been written with just the back story, but all the changing years and out of order drove me crazy! Thank God there was a happy ending!!

This story delves into the relationship of Tatum and Ben. The good times, the hurts and the other people in their lives that influence them. I read this for a book club. Some of the members were posting their opinions on line before I had even started it. I was trying not to let their comments influence me.

The story line was all about how a small misunderstanding can build and become a monster that breads more misunderstanding and miscommunication.
A great story that pulled me in from the very beginning.
