Concrete detailed information on how to avoid imminent danger before it strikes. Of course, we don't always have that chance, but if there is a chance, reading this book and applying its fundamentals will help you stay out of trouble.

Very good resource on Profiling. Probably the best out there at the moment. Essential reading for every security, military, law enforcement agency. Systematic and efficient in approach this book can open eyes and will save lives.

Excellent source of info. I have learned so much from this book about how to approach a public area more confidently. Information is power. Now I understand why I have always tried to sit facing the door in a public place.

As we interact with strangers, we attempt to gauge their intentions without a lot of information. Understanding the concepts in this book can help us see the physical clues that most of us overlook on a day-to-day basis.

This is a book that everyone should read and more importantly follow. For the most part, at least from what I see and have been seeing, is a total lack of awareness regarding what surounds us in our everyday lives. To be honest....I really think the "average" person on the street is in a sort of trance. They live their lives with no thought of what is happening around them. That, and a belief that the gov't will protect them. Really???? Think a moment....when seconds count the police are just minutes away. For many years now we have been literally brainwashed. The bottom line in all reality is YOU are responsible for your own safety. How you can be responsible for your safety is spelled out in this book. In short, don't wait for something to happen and then think about how to handle it, by then it may be to late. Plan, train your mind and body to react to those hinky feelings.

Excellent, excellent book. Anyone who is serious about navigating the landscape of human interaction in any environment, but especially a dangerous one, should make this part of their education and training.

Excellent Book. Cannot speak for military and law enforcement, but for an individual concerned with cultivating situational awareness and protecting one's self and loved ones, it's enormously useful.

The book is well written in simple language that makes the concepts easy to understand. My only minor criticism is more stories about how the advice can be applied. Maybe some scenarios would be useful as lessons.

Excellent instructive book buy one for your son your daughter or your wife and beg them to read it and learn. We all need to quit walking into the paths of trucks while using our phones. The principles are really the same ones espoused in the bible. Open your eyes stay away from evil. If it comes your way resist with everything you have. Resist evil and it will flee. Comply and die.

associate once said to me after a long meeting "you still haven't learned how to play the game with your attitude you never would have survived in Nazi Germany". I said "maybe not, quite a few people have tried to take my life from me and I can assure you they all wished that had not, notice that I am still here with God's grace my "bad" attitude and all".

The material covered in this book not only save the lives of US Marines in combat, it is also very applicable for any civilian in today's America where it seems violence can break out anywhere at any time. Excellent read for anyone who desires to live with a greater sense of situational awareness so as not to become a statistic.

Very readable. Good examples and great foundation for situational awareness. Read the ebook first, now going to read the hard copy and mark it up with my own notes. Have quoted it to my family and recommended it for their reading as well.

The book is very methodical in laying out what to look for as well as giving good advice for learning. As with any complicated subject, there is a huge amount to learn, but the decision trees are pretty straightforward.

Although assumed at Marines, it is appropriate for anyone wanting to keep themselves or others safe.

Contained much previously known material but it was a good review. Somewhat a technical read, probably will have to read it several times to be able to apply some of the concepts. The military bias was obvious, (I do not mean that in a negative way) especially as you read further into the book. If you are buying this as a law enforcement officer or just a vigilant citizen this will offer you some guidance, but it becomes quite a technical read and at times overwhelming. The book helps generate awareness but to realize the benefits of this book you would really need to take the course and be in an environment in which you could constantly utilize it. Good reference material for a "contact" professional's library. May also help to explain the "6th sense" or "gut feeling" concept that is a reality but that is not often recognized as a legal standard or is often criticized by the inexperienced, the second guessers and the uninitiated.

Fact based and highly documented; rich feedback loop of those going downrange and then returning with after action reviews. If Patton's Maxim of a gallon of sweat in training saves an ounce of blood on the battlefield is accurate - this book is a national treasure.

So far this is a very informative book. However, the size of the bookstore be an issue. This reminds me of a small, very small book club edition. You would have thought a larger paperback would be printed for the price.

This book was recommended to me by a colleague. Every good person should read this since bad guys won't take the time. You may already do many of the profiling techniques discussed in this book. Notwithstanding, this book pulls it all together.

I liked the concepts this book introduces, but I feel like the book left me wanting for more. I think this is a result of the fact that this book is an explanation of a technique that's normally taught in a classroom over several days. While I understand the concepts presented, I feel like I need more practical instruction. The book tries to address this, but at a fairly shallow level. Worth a read, but be prepared to want more...

Great reading for anyone who wants to increase their situational awareness, whether an official sheepdog (military, police or other first responder) or civilian. I find myself getting much better at reading people and assessing threats while out and about.
