I was totally immersed in the main characters in this book. Extremely well described and held my attention throughout its entirety. I only wish that Trokic and Angie could somehow get back together. I was held in suspense till the very end when "Charlie" was revealed! Thank you for this suspenseful book!

I enjoyed all aspects of this story - the plot, the characters, the vivid scenery, and the writing. It kept me interested, writing flowed well, and it was the perfect length. The Chris Cornell reference struck a sad chord! I look forward to reading more by this author and continuing to hopefully follow these characters again.

Very good book. Had me guessing till the very end! The characters are well fleshed out. As I got nearer to the end I couldn't put it down! I wish she wrote more books in English as I would love to read more of her work!

Really liked the two main characters with their different backgrounds but common detective style. Great images of Alaska worked into the story by the author, and even a volcano. I would definitely read another of the books in this series.

Enjoyed the book very much ... didn't see the end coming ... writer didn't waste a lot of words telling reader EVERYTHING that EVER happened to EVERY person in the book from birth to death ... which I like very much ... wish we could get more of her books in English on Kindle

The mixture a of a Danish detective and an Alaskan DETECTIVE cooperating in an Anchorage double murder investigation once excepted makes the characterization, the plot, and the suspense a very fun read. A delight for a good 4.5.

Such an intense story that is so twisted & goes on forever. Altho I enjoyed this story, it went on and on so much I got tired of reading. once I got to the end I enjoyed it but thought we could have gotten their quicker.

Super good plot, expertly crafted with two unforgettable characters. Really enjoyed the developing relationship between Angie and Trokics. This a wonderful suspense read, reminiscent of Joe Nesbo at this best. Highly recommend!

As a former Anchorage Alaska citizen I thoroughly enjoyed all the references to beautiful places in Alaska . The ministry itself was intricate and well-written . I hated for the book to end it was delightful .

Liked the characters and the storyline. I felt some of the dialogue was stiff and too simplistic. That could just be the translation.
I love Scandinavian mysteries, this is the first one I have read by this author. Will definitely read more.

What a great story. I love Alaska. I have enjoyed two books about Daniel and his life as a police detective. I hope there is more. I've chosen to give this book 4 stars because I found it a wonderful story.

Alaska's volcano Redoubt is the backdrop for this story. It's a good mystery and the setting in Alaska, with all the snow made for a perfect read on a day when I was snowed in at home myself. Good character development, interesting story, I'll definitely read more books in this series.

I really enjoyed this book and just wish that more of this author's books were available in English. She would be on my favourite authors list for sure. The story holds your attention all the way through, the characters are believable and it's not so violent as to be the stuff of nightmares, whilst simultaneously being thoroughly adult.
I only gave four stars because I reserve 5 for the Nobel Prize standard literature. In the Nordic thriller class, it's up there with the best.

I really enjoyed Under a Black Sky. A great setting, interesting characters, not over
the top gore, explicit sex scenes or super angry supervisors. Strong, twisting story
line. Thank you Ms. Wolf
