Loved the idea and the storytelling.

I was missing more detailed discription of the carachrers. I just like to know a little more than the heroine is 5.10 and has a nice ass.

Less talking and more action would be nice too.

In spite of the above average reviews, I find that I couldn't wait for the story to end. For some reason, the story didn't seem engaging. While some people may find the in-depth discussion and review of cybernetics and ethics riveting, it seemed like a bit overboard to me, even if some parts were interesting. The heroine cried too much, feeling sorry for herself because she happens to be one of the original creators of cyborgs besides her ex-husband.

There are some pluses to the story- the heroine, Kyra Winters, has some loyal friends that anybody can ask for- ex-co-workers of hers. Plus, she's got great intentions for those cyborgs. It's really admirable that she wants to make cyborgs humane again to bring human emotion back to these ex-soldiers. If successful, she will give them the rightful retirement that they deserved and earned. I don't want to disclose any more details to spill any spoilers; you'll just have to judge for yourself what your cybernetic limit is. It really seems like details and scenes are all dragged out. Just think of an o.k. movie that should've ended 2 hours ago but dragged on incessantly (i.e. Remember the movie, Meet Joe Black [1998]?).

Personally, I couldn't wait to put the book down and read something else. Maybe in the near future, I'll pick up the kindle book again to reread it and give it another try. Unfortunately, at this time, my perception is clouded by disappointment.

A nice romance with a bigger dose of reality than your usual cyborg stories. I enjoyed the well-rounded characters and their struggles. I'll definitely buy the next book in this series if she writes one.

I've received this book through a goodreads giveaway. I've never read any of Donna McDonald's previous books, but they have now gone on my wish list based upon this book.

Peyton 313 (real name Peyton Elliott) is the name of a cyborg purchased by Kyra Winters, a genius cyber scientist. She was one of two people responsible for creating cyborgs originally. They were created from soldiers who had volunteered to be transformed in order to put an end to wars. The strategy worked, but the soldiers were not returned to their former lives after the war was won. Instead, they were reprogrammed to become Cyber-Husbands primarily, and kept under the control of the people who purchased them.

Kyra and her former husband Jack had originally invented the means to create them, but she had believed that they would be able to return to their former lives. Instead, Norton (the company responsible for their creation) and Jack branched out into Cyber-wives and using the technology to modify wayward children. Kyra decided to try to deprogram the men on her own, and this is the story of her quest. Needless to say, Norton didn't want to give up the income stream, so they fought every step of the way.

This was a great book, with enough action and romance to not only be interesting, I finished it in 4 hours when I'd planned to just start reading it! The plot had enough twists to keep me guessing, and the romance was not the overriding portion of the story.

I wholeheartedly recommend this book and, as I said, I have the rest of her military series on my wish list.

Kyra carries an immense amount of guilt on her shoulders over actions that, to be honest, weren't hers. She helped create the program that turned allowed men to become part-machine, but what happened after that wasn't her fault at all. Her desire to right the wrongs done to mankind because of her ex-husband's wrongdoings was admirable. The courage to actually go forward with her plans, incredible.

Peyton's discovery that his wife was one of the two Cyber Soldier creators results in understandable anger, dislike, and distrust. But her truthfulness and openness about her purpose in buying him lessens all of that. With her help, he is able to gain more control of the humanity in him he'd been trying to reach on his own. That he fell in love with her, that he gave her a reason to love again, was an added bonus. He might be a Marine through and through, he might be part-machine, but what he felt for her was completely human. That was amazing.

I'm really impressed by the depth of this story. I wasn't just dropped into a world where cyborgs are used, but I'm told how and why they were created. Info dump? I guess it could be considered that. Past sci-fi readings have taught me that info dumping is sometimes necessary in this genre because there is so much to the planet and/or time period of the story that has to be explained for the reader to fully understand what's going on. Ms. McDonald does that so well in this story.

I loved Kyra's dedication to her cause and Peyton's willingness to help her any way he could. The discovery of a traitor in her camp, and who that traitor was, wasn't a surprise. The way she handled it though was. It pained me to see how she used her cyber science skills to prove a point to the men who once caused her harm, but I admired her grit and determination to drive that point home. She didn't back down, didn't chicken out, didn't soften her badass speech. She went for the jugular and came out the victor.

This story has surprising humor in it, from the most unlikely source: Peyton. And it was awesome that he had that in him. It proved how much of suitable match he was for Kyra.

I can't wait to read other books in this series. I hope the next book comes soon too. I want to know what happens to the other soldiers Kyra and Peyton saved at the end of this book, if they'll find their own happiness. God knows they deserve it and more.

I really enjoyed this book. I loved the world building and how in depth everything was, it was very well thought out. I have to say this, but I want a Borg Man! Honestly I loved how Kyra was super smart and strong though she did seemed to cry a bunch. Peyton was hot hot hot, he was hilarious and sweet and honestly the perfect cyborg/man combo. I enjoyed once the plot started moving and we got to meet more Cyborgs. I can't wait to read more in this series! I couldn't believe the twist and I won't say names so it comes as a kinda shock for you also, but WOW did you know who get what was coming to him! Loved this book, and I want more. Donna has done it again and my processor is telling me 'I want more'! 5 big stars

Blackraven’s Review:

Absolutely LOVED IT! Although Peyton 313 is Donna McDonald’s first endeavor into the sci-fi world, she passes with flying colors. Peyton 313 has it all: suspense, overflowing emotions, drama, flirtatious banter, a sexy alpha male, a remorseful scientist, danger, passion, betrayal, and most of all, a second chance at love and life.

Ms. McDonald quickly draws the reader in with her charismatic characters, quick wit, sarcastic comments, scientific lingo, and sensual love scenes. You can’t help but root for the underdog as Peyton and Dr. Winters try to redefine other Cyborgs. Peyton 313 is an enticing, quick read because the words flow smoothly over the page and the characters are engaging. I found myself not answering the phone in order to figure out what would happen next. Although it takes a bit to determine who’s friend and who’s foe, their motives are the biggest surprise in the plot, which is not only well written, but also worth the wait. Trust me when I tell you that you won’t see it coming.

Not only did I love the cloak and dagger feel of the story, but I also loved the camaraderie between Peyton, Dr. Winters, Nero, and the rest of the crew. Peyton 313 read like a television episode with sci-fi elements that I would definitely watch, which makes me wonder what Ms. McDonald has up her sleeve for the next installment in her new Cyborg: Mankind Redefined series. The best thing about this book is that it will appeal to all readers, even if you’re not a big sci-fi fan simply because of the approach Ms. McDonald takes when telling the story.

In essence, Peyton 313 is the perfect blend of sci-fi, romance, and suspense. Moreover, it’s a smart, sexy, suspenseful sci-story with passionate characters who are determined to make amends, outsmart the bad guys, and do the right thing at all costs. Ms. McDonald has hit a home run with her new series Cyborgs: Mankind Redefined. I loved the characters, the plot, the suspense, the sarcastic humor, the romance, and the scientific elements. Therefore, I can’t wait for the next installment to see what the crew is up to next. So pre-order your copy of Peyton 313: Cyborgs: Mankind Redefined by Donna McDonald. You won’t be sorry!

Donna Mcdonald has brought us a new aged science fiction novel that will have you on the edge of your seat. With the cyborgs and the wild evil scientists, she will have you rooting for the good guys.
Doctor Kyra Winters is a reformed bad guy who has realized her mistakes with the cyborg program as she scrambles to bring down Norton she falls for her new cyber husband Peyton. She has ordered Peyton to be rewired so he can have his humanity back. After two failed tries with two cyber husbands Kyra is expecting the worse, but Peyton brings her new trials and triumphs she can't ever imagine in her wildest dreams. With Norton closing in she finds herself on the run with Peyton and her dearest friend Nero. Kyra comes to find out that everyone has secrets, and comes to face that not everyone is her friend, but with Peyton by her side she is able to overcome her demons of the past and fight for a better future for all cyborgs. While ashamed that her coding has caused for these men that have served their country so well that she is not at fault but vows to bring down the men that are corrupted and make them pay. You will go on an exhilarating ride as you follow Kyra and Peyton's relationship as they fight to show each other that true love conquers all. You will get a glimpse of what the future may hold for us, and see that greed and wealth will still bring stigmas, racism and prejudice along with it. As these heroes fight for human rights for all. Donna Mcdonald is a brilliant writer as her words flow she will have you visualizing every twist and turn, every detail and every emotion that Kyra and Peyton express and feel throughout this amazing novel. While this book may not be for everyone, I recommend you at least give it a try. It is a work of art painted with words.

This is an enjoyable sci-fi story that kept quickly drawing me back to it every time I had to put the book down. The plot is fast paced with just the right amount of tension, romance, suspense and twists to keep you captivated and make you think. The characters are appealing and you soon become invested in wanting the relationship between Kyra and Peyton to develop and the rest of Peyton's team be liberated. The abuse of the cyborg solders breaks your heart and in some little ways parallels the real treatment of veterans, who are often just as mistreated and abandoned, only in a different way. How easily corruption and lack of caring can occur due to greed and the power hungriness, is highlighted in this story. Complacency and being wrapped up in ones own world, as opposed to looking at what effects actions have on others, can lead even the most intelligent, caring of people down the wrong path. When I started this story I thought is would be a light weight, sci-fi, romance read but it was more than that. It made me stop to consider how our veterans have been treated and just how many of them you see begging on the streets and sleeping in doorways. It's sad that there is not enough mental, financial and physical support provided for the people who gave their all so that we could live in comfort and freedom.

A masterful blend of sci-fi, romance, and suspense! This was a bit of a different read for me, and I found it completely enjoyable. Well-drawn characters to whom you can't help becoming attached are woven together with wonderful world building and a thought provoking plot. I love an author that sucks me in from the very beginning, keeps me guessing, and consumes my interest until the very end. This is my first Donna McDonald, but it definitely won't be my last. Highly recommend!

I have read many syfy books; I thought if medical technology for enhancement: (missing limbs, retraining the brain from medical traumas/mental problems/criminal convictions, and trained soldiers for war) has so many potential for abuse and loss of humanity. This author has created a that depicts this could happen easily. Power corrupts.

The plot, characters, and even futuristic sceneries are realistic and believable. Karen is the creator of cyborg code and a strong woman with a conscience, realizing too late, the abuse the cyborgs are suffering under. Her their cyborg husband, Peyton, is unsuccessfully reinterpret to his humanity but still has most of his enhancements. I enjoyed reading this book that I couldn't put it down until I finished it. T
I am definitely getting the next book in this series.

With the nano-technology expanding at the rapid pace it is now, we should see cybernetic limbs and organs being tested or used on human subjects. Will we let the powers that be make the decisions, like we do for the pharmaceutical and military. I enjoyed this book very much because of the questions being asked in my mind. Will we let our greed get ahead of doing what is right? Thank you so much Donna for a wonderful read. Your imagination is superb. This book was given to me free by instaFreebies in exchange for an honest review. DS

Wonderfully original story about a flawed woman trying to redeem her mistakes, and a man who had endured many injustices. I loved the snarky, real dialogue between the H and h. I will definitely be reading the rest of the series to see where Donna takes it!

I received this book free from a bundle author giveaway and have chosen to give my honest review. I wasn't sure about this book at first, but was slowly enmeshed in the story. It had science, an old war with consequences , a gutsy scientist, romance, little violence, and thought-provoking content. The whole thing was well done. I enjoyed it immensely!

This was an outstanding read. It has so many intricate elements to keep readers interested. Reprogramed military cyborgs, mad scientists, disreputable councelmen and a scientist with a concience. This is a fantastic book with a complete love story but a cliffhanger plot.
