I have been looking for good sci Fi erotic romance. I am so glad to finally found something new. Love the worlds. Love the story. The violence was hard and I found myself skipping some without the story suffering. Looking forward to book 2.

Once I started reading the book it kept me hooked and I didn't want to put it down. The male and female leads may not have been classic hero and heroine , but the relationship that develops between them was exciting to see evolve. There was danger , there was violence , and there was love. If you like your alpha males dominant and females submissive this would be a good book for you to read .

***Warning: This book is a darker romance and includes description of violence, threatening behaviors, and inhuman violations committed by humans. If you have issues with these topics, please be cautious - this book may not be for you.***
First off, I'm a BIG fan of Cynthia Sax books and she is one of my one-click queens. However, I held off from buying this series, because I had not read cyborg romances before. Yup, I was a cyborg virgin. Also, I tend to fully immerse myself in series like this, to the point where I one-click every single book in the series, and also about 99 percent of the rest of the author backlist. The love is that deep for me.
Back to the story...Joan resides on a battlestation, where she is the only female in a very discriminatory male dominated society. She is estatic to finally be taken off waste management duty and place with a cyborg - a C cyborg! For personal reasons, she is determined to to her best with her cyborg.
Enter Rage. Rage has been severely mistreated by humans for his entire life cycle. He has been abused, tortured and violated by humans. He believes all humans are bad, bad, bad. He knows Joan is one of those bad humans. Her caring, her subservience, her genuine concern for his welfare, and her submission to his each and every demand - all these things confuse the heck out of him. He wavers many times, but it takes a big event in the book to truly know how much his female means to him.
The big event is the trigger that spurs these abused and mistreated cyborgs to take action. This was a very hard section for me to read. My hearts shook, splintered and shattered into a million pieces.
My personal reaction: I love Cynthia Sax characters because the male is always a strong Alpha male who is always protective of his woman, and the female is always the complimentary other half, extremely loyal and willing to please only her man. Joan and Rage took me on a journey where hate was slowly turned to confusion, resolution and finally, love. Thankfully, because of the choice these two lovers make, my world once again was balanced out by the end of the book.
That is all I'm saying! Read the book!

Not the usual genre for me, but what a surprising read!! Rage and Joan's story was interesting, well paced, developed, and with just the right amount of sexiness. I may even continue on with the series.....I can't wait to see what happens with the rest of the Cyborgs.

Just finished reading this story. Really enjoyed the characters and the way things played out. Rage and his "female" went thru so much and had a very happy life after all the hell they both went thru. I look forward to reading more in the series!

Wow, what a great story! This is a different cyborg tale than I was expecting and I absolutely loved it. The characters are different from the usual with angry, abused cyborgs and one female engineer, assigned to a cyborg and managing to bond with him. The story keeps your interest and I couldn't put it down.

The first and best of the cyborg series. Absolutely loved this story. The interaction between characters was very good and the world building was fantastic. I was glued to this story to the very end. I re-read this story pretty often it is one of my top go to books. I highly recommend this book.

I downloaded Releasing Rage as a free book from the store. While not a heavy read, this was a surprisingly well-crafted sci-fi-erotica tale. An excellent base story mixed with great D/s erotica made this a great afternoon read. Perfect example of the genre, and I'll look for more offerings by this author.

This book started dark, but it was surprisingly good. I didn't really expect to enjoy reading a cyborg story, but boy was I wrong. I'm looking forward to the second book. Sorry, no spoilers, but if you like alpha male romance with a twist, you'll love this book.

Usually not much for submissive women and it looked like that's where this novel was headed. Glad I was wrong. Sexism, peer pressure, space opera, torture, sexual assult, surprising how many themes are included as part of the story without ever being harped on.

This book was AMAZING! It laid down a solid foundation and built the heck out of the story. I was stunned, surprised, pissed off, tearful, smiling an crying all within the confines of this story. I will read it again just because. I'd recommend it to anyone that likes paranormal or sci-fi.

This book is gritty, and sometimes gruesome but it is strong and unapologetic. This is a book I just can't forget. I've reread it at least 4 times. It pulls no punches, but I value it more because of it. Would absolutely recommend this book

Finally, an SFR erotica romance cyborg coupling resulting with an offspring.
I've read other SFR cyborg novellas and somehow I can't remember any cyborg M/F romance that impregnated their mate, producing offspring. All I can recall is that their nanobots converted their human mates to cyborgs as well.

A very unusual romance. Some awful things happen and there is a lot of violence, but there is also an unexpected relationship that develops between a cyborg and the engineer (lady) that takes care of him. Just a warning, some humans do some awful stuff.

New author for me and I really enjoyed the book. It contained all the elements that make a book interesting to read - suspense, romance, eroticism and good plot development. I will certainly be reading other books in this series

A steamy read! An impossible miracle. Love, hate, and respect is represented in various aspects. Fighting gore and alien encounters. Cyborg and humans is like any race- there's good and bad ones. They shouldn't be hated as a whole.

This was an okay book. The leading lady was strong and smart, which is always a plus. The leading guy...was a bit of a naildriver. But I suppose that was the intent. Bad guys were a little over the top, but hey, they were bad guys.

I chose this rating because the book kept me enraptured until the very end. There were times where I felt like it moved too fast and it made me felt disconnected from the characters, but it was still very enthralling and I could not put the book down. I read it in one day. Quite and easy and great read for that quick escape a girl is looking for. I would recommend to all persons looking for a sexy and danger filled adventure

This was an interesting book/story and I can honestly say I liked it more than I thought I would..l what does that mean ? Well just about from the very second Joan meets Rage she _Has to _ take a very submissive role with him in order to gain his trust and to survive with him.... Which makes sense coz basically Cyborgs as usual are just mass produced heavily abused slaves and every human Rage has ever been in contact with has either abused him physically, mentally or sexually just like all the cyborgs in this book and the station their both on is full nothing but sick sadists except for Joan and the Cyborgs only as bad as Joan knows things are she has Not changed dead just had bad things really are til she gets to know Rage and his world... I almost reminds me of the beginning of New Species series by Laurann Dohner but as dark a NS felt this felt worse in some ways at times....
I get that Rage NEEDED control, can't s until Joan ( he literally had NONE) and she seemed to Love calling him Sir and following his commands at times... And unlike most BDSM themed books out the I didn't HATE it like I normally do... Coz like I said ,I totally got why he needed it and soo did she and she was totally happy with giving what he needed but by the end her calling no Sir and acting soo subservient to him at times just made me wanna scream that plus just how sexually violent it was in places just made me wanna give it 3 and 1/2 stars ... 3 feels to few but 4 too many... Not bad though soo if your curious, go try...
