What a great read. I love a damsel in distress/ mountain man kind of book. Something about being stuck in the wilderness with a hunk of a man is a huge bonus for me.
Micah was loveable throughout even when he kept the biggest secret of all from Charlotte. Also, Charlotte was great too. Not a whiney heroine like you see alot in books.
The plot was fantastic with a few twists and turns especially with Charlotte's family.
A few parts seemed a little drawn out and bland but the book made up for it towards the end.

Damaged by author R. R. Banks is unquestionably brilliant. This is a sweetly beautiful bittersweet tale of betrayal, loss and rediscovery. I feel I should add survival, along with that description.
Imagine life is full of darkness and when you reach out no one listens. Now imagine finally having the strength to forge through, only for that darkness to be pushed back unto your path. Then there’s a light- but the light has secrets. Do stay the path or do you run??!! Darkness or light, trust or betrayal, familiar or newness- these are the questions? Easy the answers seem yet sometimes the known path is the easiest.
Damaged conjures all these feelings and pulls the heartstrings and makes you wish for more than just surviving.
Enjoy!!!

Just the title alone lures you in, but the story – excellent. It's filled with drama, suspense, excitement, hot romance and true love. Everything you can crave in a book is here. The story is well written, well edited, well thought out. Great read!! I was gifted this book and am choosing to do an honest review.

This version included several bonus books, which I did not read. The editing was fairly good.
Charlotte has finally freed herself from an abusive relationship and is trying to move on with her life and her family. Unfortunately, her family just does not get that Daniel was not a nice guy. The family arranges a lovely vacation for Thanksgiving, neglecting to let Charlotte know that they have invited Daniel. When he shows up, Charlotte takes off. She, however, runs right into a snow storm, a wrong turn, and a downed tree. Fortunately, recluse Micah is out and finds her before she can freeze. Charlotte has hit her head and doesn't remember who she is. Micah went to high school with Charlotte, knows who she is, but knows just enough about concussions to wary of giving her to much information. He believes it is probably better for her to remember who she is on her own. He does try to give her nuggets that might trigger her memory, but it almost two weeks later before everything comes rushing back. In the interim, they have developed the relationship that Micah has always longed for. When Charlotte remembers, her family sucks her right back in to their version of life. Micah goes after Charlotte, but overhears part of a conversation and, of course, doesn't go check with Charlotte of the truth. This almost proves deadly for both Charlotte and Micah.
This was a pretty good, light read. Curl up with a blanket and enjoy.

This was an enjoyable book. I loved the chemistry between Micah and Charlotte. It was very believable
Charlotte has an accident and winds up at Micah’s mercy. They went to the same high school so there’s some history between them. But she doesn’t remember anything due to a concussion from her accident. What I most liked about the book was the unfolding of their chemistry and connection. It flowed very well right though most of the book. The plot got a little choppy as it unveiled a cinderellaesque scenario with her family. Some of it didn’t connect or flow quite as well. But I enjoyed it nonetheless! Also very intrigued that this was a male author. Good job!

After spending several years in an abusive relationship, Charlotte finally found the courage to leave Daniel. Her family stood beside Daniel and believed all his lies which created more tension in her relationship with her family.
After an accident in the snow, a mountain man rescued Charlotte and brought her to his cabin to heal her. She had lost her memory. Why did the mountain man look so familiar?
Evil is lurking in the shadows to perform his evil deed once again putting Charlotte in danger.
R. R. Banks has written a beautiful love story of second chance of love, domestic violence and healing.

I chose this rating because this was a really great book. The characters were amazing. I really enjoyed most of them. There were a couple that I really didn't care for. This was a very interesting book. With manipulation and abuse that happened to one of the characters. I also really didn't understand the kind of parents Charlotte had that would treat her the way they did. I was happy that she met back up with Micah, he helped her out. A little bit of this and a lot bit of that went on. This was a really great book. I recommend this book to all romance readers. Great read.

Another great book from R R Banks, who I might add, never disappoints his readers. This story is beautifully written, with boundless amounts of passion, love and emotion. The characters are so engaging and well developed, you can feel what they are going through as you read. This is what a reader wants from a book, to feel the characters, to react to the words that are written and to become totally involved in the story. I like to say "to experience" the story. A really good book should do this and I felt that this one did just that.
I'd love to recommend this book and indeed, others by this author. He certainly knows his stuff. Good one R.

Charlotte has finally found a good place in her life. She’s full of self-confidence, she’s successful at her career, and for the first time in a long time, she’s found some happiness. But her family won’t leave well enough alone and after escaping her abusive ex and getting her life back on track, all Charlotte wants is some peace. When her wish isn’t granted, she ran away… during a snowstorm on a mountain she was unfamiliar with. And then… you guessed it, she ended up in an accident. Luckily Micah, who lives on that mountain, happened upon her and rescued her. However, when she regains consciousness, she doesn’t remember who she is. Funny enough, Micah does.
The events and heartache that both Charlotte and Micah have endured was painful to read, but it effectively showed their vulnerabilities and their strengths. I couldn’t help but admire them and root for their success and triumph over their heartaches. The author did a fantastic job of bringing these characters to life and those steamy scenes were lit!
Happy Reading! xo

>Book Review – Damaged
>I am an independent reviewer. This book is a standalone romance with an HEA. Charlotte has 2 sisters her mother is constantly trying to measure her against. The sisters are both happily married and starting families. Charlotte just ended an abusive relationship with Daniel. Daniel is rich and a parents dream. Charlotte’s parents cannot believe Daniel is abusive and cause Charlotte to run from him into the mountains. She hits her head and has temporary amnesia.
>Micah finds Charlotte and nurses her back to health. He realizes who she is and falls for her. Micah’s backstory is heartbreaking also. He is so used to being let down that he tends to give up on relationships. This book shows the danger of an abusive relationship. The extreme behavior by Charlotte’s mother is harder to take. She is so cruel that even her apology later in the story doesn’t save her character. I wish she was eaten by a bear!
>This book is appropriate for an adult audience. I am giving this book 5 stars. The story was romantic, suspenseful and heartbreaking.

Charlotte goes to a cabin with her mom to meet up with the rest of her family for the Thanksgiving holiday. She broke up with her boyfriend Daniel a few months back. They had been together since high school and everyone in her family thinks she made a mistake. Unbeknownst to Charlotte her mother invites her ex-boyfriend to the cabin as well. Charlotte has tried to explain to her mother that Daniel is abusive and she will no longer be with him and with her mother betraying her by inviting Daniel up for Thanksgiving she feels ganged up on and decides to take her sister's car and drive back down the mountain to get away from Daniel. She ends up getting turned around and winds up crashing into a fallen tree. Micah has lived on this mountain for years by himself with just his dog Scout to keep him company. He ends up finding Charoltte and has to carry her away from the crashed car back to his lodge, because she hit.her head and ended up passing out. Once Micah gets her back to his lodge he realizes that he knows her from when they went to high school together. They didn't travel in the same social circles because Charlotte's parents had money and his family did not but Micah has always thought she was beautiful and shy. When Charlotte wakes up later she's not sure where she is and she also realizes she doesn't remember who she is. Grab this intriguing book today because it has a little bit of everything going on. Will Micah and Charlotte find love with eachother or will Charlotte's family tear them part and lock her back into the abusive relationship she had with Daniel just because he comes from the same social background? This book is written well and tells one heck of a good story. Definitely a must read.

Another brilliant story by R. R. Banks. Charlotte is meeting her family for Thanksgiving at a cabin in the mountains, but a storm is coming, on so many levels. Charlotte, in an amnestic state, ends up sharing a cabin with Micah until the storm blows over. Together, they seem to fit perfectly as their chemistry quickly unfolded. There are so many layers to this intense love story, and I was glued to this book as the events unfolded. Charlotte is a strong woman, a survivor who is finally standing up to her overbearing family. Micah shares many of her traits, and has his own demons to conquer. Both were isolated and damaged in their own way, and healed themselves and each other. Emotional, intense, beautifully written.

Once again RR Banks has written a wonderful love story!!! This is a story about 2 damaged souls, Micha and Charlotte, who in a past life knew each other. Both yearned for each other in high school, but were afraid to act on their feelings. Fast forward several years later and the two meet under very different circumstances. Both have been hurt by a past relationship and other circumstances, but have a second chance at the love they wanted so badly in high school. There are sweet, sexy and passionate moments as well as intrigue in the story. I love how well each of the characters' back stories were told and the depth of the character development.
I highly recommend this story and all of RR Banks' other books!!!

I volunteered to review an Advance Reader Copy of this book. This story grabs you from the moment you start reading and you can’t put it down until you finish. I loved how the characters evolved from mistrustful, cynical people to realizing that they have a really strong bond that never got severed. Charlotte and Micah both had trust issues but I loved reading how they evolved from mistrustful, cynical people to realizing that they have always been attracted to each other and fall in love. It also doesn’t hurt that Micah keeps rescuing Charlotte. Loved, loved, loved this book.

Charlotte started dating Daniel in high school and at first he seemed like the perfect boyfriend because he was kind, considerate and her family loved him. She dated him through college and afterwards but he changed into an abusive controlling boyfriend until Charlotte got the nerve to break up with him. It is now several months later and she and her family are spending Thanksgiving in a remote cabin. Charlotte is shocked when Daniel walks in at the invitation of her mother. Angry she storms out of the cabin and drives away in her sister's car in the middle of a snowstorm. She is lost and has no idea where she is until she runs into a down tree.
Micah enjoys living out on the mountain with his dog. In high school and college, he was a big football star until a car accident damaged his leg. He had to change his dream and became a success in the tech industry. He has mostly retired from his business to live far away from any pitying looks. He is outside when he hears Charlotte's car crash and he comes to the rescue. He finds Charlotte with a minor head injury and brings her back to his cabin. She looks familiar to him and he is pretty he went to high school with her. He remembers stepping in to save her from an angry boyfriend. Charlotte wakes up later with no memory of who she is or what she was doing. Micah is torn between telling her what he remembers about her and keeping silent to help her remember on her own.
Charlotte wakes up totally confused and with no memories. Thanks to the kindness of Micah she is safe and taken care of. The more time she spends with him, the more her feelings grow. The two start to fall in love.. but then her memory comes back
This is a great book about a couple who should have gotten together a long time ago. I really felt for Charlotte who was trying to turn her life around but kept getting sabotaged by her well meaning family. I voluntarily received a copy of this story and this is my honest review.

So, I read this book right before Christmas and have been mulling over writing a review. I finished the book and was quite angry...like throw my kindle down and growl kind of angry. The main character's family really really irked me. After giving it lots of thought I realized that my response is a testimony to Mr. Banks writing. If an author is able to garner those kinds of emotions from readers, then said author is doing his job well. I will say this book is a little on the short side - especially considering the heavy subject matter. Sure, it is a love story, but it really is touching on an issue that more people than you think have to deal with. I applaud Mr. Banks for writing something beyond your basic love story. I think it makes it more "real" for the reader.

rcvd an advanced reader copy from the author for giving my two cents. we meet Charlotte at a remote cabin with her family for thanksgiving. her mother tho keeps telling her that she was hoping to make a wedding announcement but Charlotte tells her mom that it's over with Daniel. while Charlotte is in her room she hears the door and low and behold Daniel is there telling her how.mich he misses her and blah blah blah. Charlotte is beyond pissed that her parents have been talking to him and set this up. They don't care that he was abusive and manipulative. she storms out of the cabin and drives off into the storm to only hit a tree. we meet Micah, tech guru, former college footballer out at his cabin. he hears tire squealing and runs towards the road. he sees a suv has got a tree. instinct he is there trying to get the person out and realizes he knows her. Micah managed to get her out and into the cabin. Charlotte wakes up and doesn't know where she is and who she is for that matter. Micah doesn't want to overwhelm her with info and plays it by ear. They enjoy the company and their conversations and after two weeks Charlotte randomly remembers who she is and is pissed at Micah for keeping it quiet. Can Micah convince her that it's not what it seems? will charolette return to her family eventho no one is looking for her? will she tell Micah how she feels? will Daniel rip her away from her safe haven?

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book
This was an amazing read, yes it is a story that has similarities to others,
Mountain Man/Recluse/Billionaire saves Damsel in distress, BUT OH boy
right there is where the similarities end. RR Banks took that to an extreme level
He grabs you and DOES not let go, you become invested in the lives of
Charlotte and Micah, We start this with Charlotte going with her family up in
the mountains to a cabin for the Thanksgiving holiday, She is both looking forward
to spending time with her family and dreading it as well, Her mother is one of those
women who feel that social standing is more important than anything else, So when
not only does she make Charlotte feel like she is a failure in everything she does she
also manipulates relationships, IE the one that Charlotte has FINALLY gotten away from
Her ex Daniel. They had been together since High School but even as far back as that
Daniel was abusive to Charlotte. it only got worse until she FINALLY decided that it was over
she was deserving of a better life than that. But Charlotte's mom (and even her dad) believed
the lies he had told. So when he shows up for the family Thanksgiving by her moms invite
Charlotte runs, Into a blizzard of a storm, She is trying to get back home but takes the wrong
way and ends up hitting a huge tree that is blocking the road, Micah has left his life behind a few
years ago, He grew up with a very abusive father and a mom that would do anything for him, He
had goals and aspirations that were shattered by a drunk driver, Micah turned that horrible thing
into something positive and made millions, Now he lives in his mountain lodge, alone and he is
happy that way, That is until he comes across the woman who is hurt when she hits that tree in
the snowstorm, Micah takes her back to his lodge. He feels a spark of recognition he thinks he knows
this woman from high school, Charlotte, When she wakes with no memories what so ever, Micah cannot
decide if he should tell her more than he knows, That he does remember her from school and who she
is exactly, He does tell her that he thinks her name is Charlotte.
I absolutely loved how this story plays out from this point, How Micah and Charlotte fall in love with
each other, What happens when she gets her memories back, How they both truly knew each other in
school, yet never spoke to each other. How Charlotte FINALLY stands up to her mother. Everything about
this story was wonderful, It is a book that will grab you and not let go until the very end. I highly recommend this book

R.R. Banks has done it again with another story that will pull at your heartstrings. Here we meet Charlotte who is involved in a car accident after running out on her family and her ex-boyfriend. Micah finds her and he recognizes her from their high school days. They are snowed in during the storm and spend lots of quality time together. They get to know each other in ways that make us blush. The chemistry they share is as hot as fresh lava. I loved reading this story and as always R.R. Banks will have you falling in love with the characters that his genius brain creates for us.

Damaged
I voluntarily read an arc of this book for a fair and honest review. With Charlotte’s family she learned to hope for the best but expect the worst and this thanksgiving was no different. Charlotte has recently escaped from a long term abusive boyfriend. With both of her sisters announcing their pregnancies, all eyes turned to Charlotte. She should have been married by now, that is something her mother never fails to remind her. Through a series of events, that you should get the enjoyment of reading for yourselves Charlotte meets Micah. Micah is a reclusive, retired young billionaire who has left most of civilization behind him and resides in his lodge with his rescue dog Scout. Micah is plagued both emotional and physical pain from his past. It has left him somewhat jaded, in theory, but when I read him I read him as a nice guy who is trying to accommodate Charlotte’s limitations. I did love the “absolutely adorable but effing useless” line. I kinda fell for Micah there. I will admit that I would not have forgiven a mother who never believed me, but aside from the author’s kindness in the epilogue I adored this book. Note to author..thank you for your email when I thought I couldn’t read this arc. You were right.

Intense and powerful describe "Damaged" to a T. The writing is some of the best I've ever read!! It's descriptive, strong and full of emotion.
The writing will have you feeling the chill in the mountains, heat between the couple and the heartbeats as these two damaged people find what true love is.
Micah and Charlotte just are 2 lost puzzle pieces that found each other and together they solve and complete the other.
Their story will put you through the emotional ringer. Every emotion is found in this book and I loved it.
"Damaged" is how to write a romance and do it phenomenonally. I received an ARC for an honest and voluntarily review.

Where do these good reviews come from? Honestly, I hate giving reviews and especially hate giving bad reviews but this...this was a terrrrrible book. It was like reading a 200 page run on sentence. The sex scenes were thrown in as a filler for about 50% of it and the rest of the story lacked just about everything a good book is supposed to have. Anticlimactic, rushed, slightly boring, and annoying. I am glad I did not pay for it or I might have been more upset!

Very rarely does a book grab my attention from the first paragraph. Damaged did just that. By the end of the first chapter I was routing for the main character and absolutely hated the villain. The twist and turns that followed made for a great read.

This my friends is how you write a beautiful romance with so many heartfelt moments that you just can't put it down. I was so excited to read this one and now I know why. Everything about the characters felt real and both of them came from some kind of abuse and were damaged. If you only read one book please grab this one because it really is that good. Mr Banks writes wonderfully gripping stories and this is no different. This is slightly different from his comedy romance about single dads or surprise fatherhood, though that does not change the fact that you will love this story. He has a great way of gripping you that first page that makes you want to just read in a cozy chair for hours. I voluntarily reviewed this book for an advanced copy.

Amazing story that touches on abuse in which you do not see often seen in these types of books. Love reading R R Banks books. This has emotion, humour and really great sex scenes. Charlotte has just come out of a relationship with her abusive boyfriend (high school sweethearts) Her family believe that you should stay in your own social circles or marry up. Through family lies she goes home. Micah and Charlotte are well matched and finally everything works out even with family interference
