Hold onto your soccer balls because Surrender was a whirlwind. Sexy and dramatic and wonderfully unexpected. Amy Daws took sexy to another level writing the oldest Harris brother.

I really liked Gareth. Often times his silence spoke louder than his words. He was a very private man so I really enjoyed uncovering some of the things he kept hidden- even from his teammates and family. Some of the flashbacks made my eyes misty. But it was his time with Sloan that really showed another side to him. The side that wanted to let it go. Thank goodness he found the balance to that in Sloan.

And bless Sloan. That woman had been through more than her fair share of hardships. She was a fighter and a survivor that's for sure. I liked seeing her find herself. Find the confidence that life's harshness took out of her. She had Gareth to thank for that.

Gah! These two were so well suited for each other. And just when they're starting to come to terms with their feelings BAM! Holy jaw on the floor- what just happened twist! I NEED the next book- now please.

Gareth and Sloan are through with denying and surrendering to fate. Sloan upended everything to follow her husband to London. When she learns of his less and fidelitic ways she is heartbroken and left trying rebuild as they truly only married for the sake of her pregnancy. Thankfully she has her stylist career to fall back on as the unrepentant snake showed no remorse whatsoever. When she shows up at Gareth’s place with his clothes, he can instantly tell something is amiss with her no matter how much she tries to protest and keep it professional. Gareth has always been the Harris rock. After his mom, his dad basically checked out leaving him and Vi to take the reins while his dad lost himself. He has his hands full with his family and his team which leaves him little time for much else. When Sloan comes in clearly out of sorts he knows he cannot let it lie especially when he notices her ever present wedding ring missing. This Harris installment is filled with passion, depth, and family we have come to know and love but this is part one of the duet so buckle up for the cliffhanger!

I voluntarily read an advance reader copy of this book

This is my first Amy Daws book. Obviously that means that I haven't read any of the other Harris Family books. That being said, I don't feel that it is a necessity in order to follow Gareth and Sloan's story. Surrender is part one of a duet (with Dominate coming out Aug. 2, so you won't have a long wait). If cliffhangers aren't your cup of tea, then you'll only have to wait a couple weeks to pick put both books.

I don't want to give to much of the story line away. These are interesting and complex characters that I feel deserve to tell their own story (without me meddling). In fact, Gareth and Sloan are probably my favorite characters I've read in a while. I've enjoyed reading other books and their characters, but Gareth and Sloan stood out to me and I will definitely remember them when they are done.

I can't wait to read the conclusion of their story in Dominate and thankfully we don't have to long to wait!!

Rating: 4.5 out of 5

SURRENDER is the story of Gareth, the eldest Harris sibling and only remaining singleton. I’ll admit upfront that I have only read the first book in the series, and that was a couple of years ago, so I felt like I was meeting Gareth for the first time.

He first meets a married Sloan Montgomery in a professional capacity. When they next meet, several years have passed; Sloan is divorced and trying to gain some independence and control of her life. She’s always put the desires and needs of others before hers and it’s time for her to do something for herself.

I really enjoyed getting to know Gareth and Sloan. Given their professional association, from the start there’s a trust between that makes them more open and relaxed around one another. They drop their walls enough to ask from each other for the things they need. It’s a slow burn style of romance filled with heart and humour.

SURRENDER is book one in the Final Harris Brother Duet and finishes on a suspense-filled cliffhanger. I am eagerly waiting to read book two, Dominate.

This is book has rendered me speechless. I LOVE Gareth and Sloan so HARD and we were warned that it was going to be a helluva cliffhanger (duh - DUET!) but I still was not ready for it. Even when I sort of saw it coming (because like the talented author that she is, Amy Daws dropped the most subtle foreshadowing in there for us), I was still FLABBERGASTED by the ending. Surrender is wholly unique (I fully stand behind this absolute statement because it is true for me as a reader) and utterly unputdownable (I literally lost sleep over this gem) and I wish that I could fast forward life to the time when Dominate magically shows up on my kindle. Surrender is one of my Best of 2018 reads, I immediately put it in my the store cart because I need the paperback in my life, but I'm going to wait to pull the trigger for when Dominate comes out so that I can have them both. And being the slightly obsessive book lover that I am, I'll probably end up with the rest of the series in paperback as well... And the London Lovers series since it's connected. Fly money fly... 5 out of 5 wine glasses.

Now I understand why it took time to cultivate Gareth’s story. This book is Amy Daws’ finest work for the Harris Brothers. Gareth has remained somewhat of an illusion in the previous books. He’s present but nothing much about him divulged.

Harris plays for Man U, that in itself leads to lack of privacy on the field. Off the field, fans think they have the right to that access. Gareth is always to compared to and by his family. It’s hard growing up always being compared to your father.

Sloan is a divorced mother who’s ex can’t just let go. She’s trying to reassert herself as a kickass woman with her job that gives her freedom.

These two are brought together as a release from the world around them. They exist together. They live separately. There are complex, dynamic attributes that make Gareth and Sloan so incredibly attractive to each other. I will say the power of pure sexuality between these two is off the charts.

I’m checking off the days until their next book comes about.

What to say about Surrender- so much to say. Amy Daws has delivered an amazing story about Gareth and Sloan and I want Dominate right now. Gareth is misunderstood in the first 3 books of the series but wow- just wow- do we get to see what he has gone through and why he is the way he is. Sloan has got so many issues herself but together- hot, hot, hot! And not just hot- but powerful, intense, heartwarming all at once!

The complexity in both of these characters keeps you turning the pages, needing tissues, wanting so much more, I couldn’t read fast enough. It keeps you wondering what is going to happen next for the characters- and yes- the end…. That makes us wait for Dominate!

The Harris family is wonderfully written into the book with all the laughter, support you expect, and now an understanding of Gareth. I always loved Tanner but Gareth is now my new favorite brother!

Sigh… and now we wait for Dominate! Counting down the days for the closure of this family! Thank you Amy for all the feels you give to the readers!

This is the first book in the Harris Brothers Series that I have read, and from my point of view you don't really need to read the others but I do think that it will give more understanding to the family dynamics.

This book was full of twists and turns that you would not see coming. These twists really were great and had me wanting more of Gareth and Sloan. Oh, and with the way this book ended I am glad that there is more coming because HOLY CLIFFHANGER!!!!

The angst between these characters can be felt while you are reading and at times wanting to slap both because then maybe they would fight harder or even get over it all sooner. Sloan is trying to gain her footing again as a single mother with an ex that still can't really let go. Gareth is one of the best football (soccer) players at Man U.

When the two of them get together sparks fly and not always in a good way. Will they be able to workout their difference or will it all end?

I have a confession....
I love Gareth more than Booker. Yep, I said it!!

This story completely consumed me. I am so glad that Amy took the route she did with this book, Gareth was nothing like I expected.

Everything about Gareth’s story sent me through a spin. It was everything I never knew I wanted for him. Any daws is a phenomenal author, after seeing the hype surrounding this book I was nervous to start it but I had no reason to be. Amy nailed it.

Sloan is so different from Amy’s usual heroines but damn I really want her to be happy!! Her and Gareth are perfectly imperfect and I love them so hard!!

I’m not even going to talk about the ending because I’m still hanging on for the second book.
I felt so many different things whilst reading this book and I can’t wait to see what happens next!

Its a truly beautiful love story!

I have been so impatiently waiting for this Harris Brother to get his story!!!! All the way back when he shows up in Vi's book I knew Gareth was gonna be all kinds of yummy goodness.....and Amy Daws did not disappoint!!!
This book.......GAH!!!! Gareth is just.....so much of everything. And Sloan is his sassy, strong(tho she doesnt realize it yet) unashamedly American(I love that she refuses to call soccer football)counterpart.
Their Chemistry is off the charts and instantaneous. I love that they form a kind of friendship before the passion explodes all over.

Getting some of the Harris's back story and glimpses of their mother through Gareth's eyes is heartbreaking....and made me struggle with Daddy Harris a bit.

So ready to get my mits on Dominate......I need to see how my Gareth gets his HEA.

Goodness this book!!! After Keeper, I really wanted Gareth’s book but it took awhile to get there and finally we are here!!! I loved the start of Gareth and Sloan’s story. Somewhat complicated yet they need each other, their chemistry and pull towards each other is evident.

Sloan has been through a somewhat rough life. Growing up with nothing and having to work sooo hard for everything pushes her towards something she never wanted. Things happen and fast forward she needs Gareth. I liked their banter, their push and pull towards one another.

I loved seeing more of the Harris brothers again. Booker is a favorite of mine but as I read more into Gareth, they’re rivaling each other in my favorites. I won’t talk too much about book 1 because you have to read it. I cannot wait for book 2!!!!

What an unputdownable read from Amy Daws!

I have read books from this author in the past, however, in my opinion, none of them come close to the brilliance of Surrender. This book, is one of the best books I have read this year.

The writing was beautiful. It flowed together like a melody. It had sharp points that kept you on the edge of your seat, and down lows that had you swooning.

Gareth and Sloan leave you hanging on to every single word they say. They become this force of nature that you can't help but continually root for. They consume your thoughts, and imagination. You always want what is best for them.

I cannot wait to see where this story goes in the final book, Dominance.

P.S: That ending had me on the edge of my seat!!!!

5/5 Stars!

Oh, Gareth and Sloan! The happenings in this book are so unexpected but a de-light to read. Quite out of the box and unorthodox from almost everything that's popular, but super hot and sexy. Gareth is a vault to everyone, sometimes even his family, and struggles with any kind of connection. Sloan needs a distraction from her real life turmoil. They find what they need in each other. All the way up until....well, you'll have to read or listen to get to that part!

Having the privilege of listening to the audio makes it al the better! Will Watt has the sexiest playfulness in his voice, making his narrations so much fun to listen to. Piper Goodeve was a delight as Sloan. And it was awesome to hear Charlotte Cole here and there.

I am so excited to hear the rest of their story in Dominate!!!

Wow! ... I’m still struggling to put this into words without spoiling anything.

I think everyone has been waiting (not so patiently) for this book and Amy, you did not disappoint.

Getting to know Gareth and to learn of his past and why he is the way he is was eye opening. I loved his appearances in the other books in the series but there was never enough of him so this is a great book if you’re a Gareth fan.

I loved Sloan. I loved her character and strength, her protectiveness of the things she loved. I really can’t say any more than that without spoiling anything.

Surrender is amazing! Great writing and an even better plot with characters that you will fall in love with easily. Warning: This Book does have a major cliffhanger ending.

Can’t wait for part two.

Five stars!

Gareth is the Harris brother I have been waiting for. He is the most sensitive and most volatile of the Harris clan. He holds grudges and his heartbreak like most would carry a sentimental item with them. Sloan is sheer perfection. She has been through a lot and is barely hanging on.

With them it’s like when a volcano meets a tornado. A battle of wills takes place. There are moments where I had to put the book down, so I could cry with both Gareth and Sloan. Amy Daws always provides a mix of comedic genius and heart shattering moments.

The author creates these fantastical characters that make you feel like you are a part of their world. You can’t help but be drawn to them. I will gladly recommend this story to others. I give it 5/5 Platypires.

Oh. My. Freaking. Goodness. Amy Daws and the Harris Brothers have never disappointed me and Surrender continues the winning streak. Gareth Harris has always been the mysterious and brooding Harris brother, so I have been highly anticipating Gareth's story.

There is the usual Harris family antics and humor that I always enjoy in Surrender. But Sloan and Gareth themselves are such complex and mysterious characters and that shows in their story. They come together as a release and escape from the outside world and find so much more in each other than either of them anticipated. I am so happy to finally have Gareth's story, at least the first part, but it is a bittersweet happiness because I do not want the Harris family stories to end.

Been waiting a long time for this book. The final Harris brother, the most mysterious, the quiet one. Well... Let me tell you, this was a one sitter, four hours, and BOOM... I LOVE GARETH!!! The writing is outstanding, I will never figure out how Amy, the girl from mid-west America, can write in Full on England mode. I actually hear her talking with her British accent while I'm reading. Amazing! This book though, emotional, heart wrenching, and BOLD. You will not be disappointed at all. Now, this is the last book(s) in the series, but I think you can get away with reading it as a stand alone. But WHY would you do that, all of the Harris brothers are simply Lovely. Trust me you will not be angry that you read them all!

WOW!

I have loved the Harris Brothers series from the very beginning and Surrender has packed one hell of a punch.

Gareth was always the mysterious brother out of all the siblings and I couldn’t wait to dive into this book.

Surrender was totally not what I was expecting at all! It was an amazing read from start to finish and I loved every single page.

As Gareth’s story is a duet it does end on a cliffhanger but you will NOT be disappointed with reading it. The twists and turns in this book will keep you on the edge of your seat from the very first page.

I can’t wait for the next book to come out but I’m also sad to see the end of such a phenomenal series.

5 Crazy Ass Must Read Stars!!!!!

OMG! OMG! OMG! What the frack just happened?!?!?! I need Dominate right fracking now!

This was so not what I expected. Amy Daws threw me for quite the loop. I loved it and it absolutely made the story so much more. Ms. Daws totally slayed Gareth's story.

I knew that Gareth's story was going to be serious but I didn't expect the roller coaster ride of emotions I experienced. I laughed at all the Harris' antics. I cried at the heart-wrenching moments. I swooned at Gareth's sweet side. And when those intense sexy scenes popped up, I was fanning myself like crazy.

Another amazing story and I cannot wait to get my hands on Dominate.

Gareth Harris is probably my favorite of the Harris brothers. I loved this book with the unexpected twists the story took and the playful introduction into domination and submission. I do believe that I have never laughed harder listening to a scene involving rope and knots. Sloan and Gareth have incredible chemistry along with the narrators of this book. Will Watt, Piper Goodeve, and Charlotte Cole all performed the characters brilliantly. Amy Daws has created a family of characters with this series. I found myself laughing and crying and asking did that really happen with this book. I won't give away spoilers, but the ending was outstanding. I never saw it coming. The cameo appearances of the other Harris brothers and Vi only added to the book. I loved Gareth's opening up regarding his family and feelings and Sloan's saying he was Topping from the Bottom! The imagery in this book is spectacular. I would love a closet like Gareth's. I cannot wait to listen to Dominate next.

Footballer Gareth Harris likes being alone but he was attracted to clothing stylist Sloan Montgomery during filming for a commercial but after seeing the ring on her finger he never did anything about it other than having her find clothes for him. But when she brings his new suit to his house after she caught her husband sleeping with someone else, she gives into the attraction by telling Gareth what to do to please her. Gareth and Sloan start seeing each other after her divorce during the weeks her ex-husband has custody of her daughter but she doesn’t tell him about her so he doesn’t understand why she can’t see him all the time.

The cliffhanger the author has was so unexpected to me.

Superb beginning to this duet! I was glad to finally read and get to know Gareth Harris. We did not know much about him from the previous books in the series. He was quiet, mysterious, and serious. This book proved he is so much more than that. I loved peeking into the boy Gareth during the flashback scenes -- they really helped to understand how he is today.

Gareth and Sloan together were perfect! I LOVED their relationship. Theirs was unconventional...if you compare it to your typical romance book. But knowing both of their situations in life, it made perfect sense. And it worked for them. It was hot and steamy and I can't wait to read part 2!

Gareth Harris has my heart he is bloody amazing.

This book was so much different from the other Harris Brothers it has a roller coaster of emotions throughout the book.

I was laughing like crazy at one point and then I was just crying my eyes out and my heart was aching so much, and then... The "end" that cliffhanger left me staring blankly at nothing in particular just trying to grasp what just happened and why?

Reading its felt like coming home seeing all the characters from the other books, characters that I love so much.

The book is really well written that you won't be able to put it down once you start reading it.

Friends to Lovers dual point of view
Continues the Harris family saga with Gareth’s story. Can be standalone, but helps to read others.
The oldest Harris brother has a texture sensitivity that makes relationships and clothing difficult for him to manage. Enter stylist Sloan who gets the issue and helps him find attire appropriate for his roles. Gareth is attracted to her but stays away until she is divorced. At that point, he entices her with a sex only relationship letting her dominate him. Things get out of hand when he realizes she is a mom.
Warning: CLIFFHANGER!!
Enjoyed Sloan’s exploration of a different side of herself.
Felt that Gareth was playing a long con with her and his family.
Enjoyed when Gareth learned that Sloan was a mom and their subsequent discussions.

This book was absolutely incredible! The vulnerability, the raw passion, the connection that Gareth and Sloan share is awe-inspiring and off the charts. To see these two characters go from shells of themselves to finding each other and embracing their true shelves is truly wonderful to experience.

The emotions that couple brought out in me was intense. I felt everything this pair felt, like I was not only along for the ride but a part of their story, experiencing their thoughts and feelings.

I know there is still another book to read, but I’m already sad and terrified to see this story and this series end.

Holy balls. Surrender sucked me in chewed me up and spit me back out again. I loved Garrett and Sloan and I was enraptured in their blossoming relationship. Sophia was precious and such a strong soul for someone so young. Calleb made me want to punch him and grab Sophia away from his venomous mother. As usual the glimpses into the other harrisses lives and the drama it entails had me riveted and reading late into the night. Garrett and Sloan need their HEA like no other couple, they've both suffered enough and I can't wait for Dominate. I was left in complete shock with my jaw hanging open after that ending, Amy you evil genious.

Oh my god! Gareth Harris I knew from the beginning would likely end up being my favorite Harris brother and he didn’t disappoint. Dark, mysterious and moody was the perfect recipes for leading man material!

Sloan Montgomery a little broken by the cards she has been dealt but fighting for a brighter future makes for a woman on the verge of greatness.

The ying and yang; perfect balance for each other if only they could get their hearts and minds on the same page. This is a page turner for sure at times you’ll want to scream at them and other times your rooting for them.

The end will leave you counting down the days till Dominate is released! Well done Amy Daws well done!

Just when you think you have life all figured out, fate rolls in and knocks you on your butt. Gareth is the golden boy. Thanks to a career he loves, he's managed to rise above the pain of his home life and create a name for himself. Sloan is a woman in transition. She's getting back on her feet after a string of bad choice almost derailed her dreams. A new environment could be what she needs to move forward in her life. Neither counted on the hands of fate upended their new beginning. Will they survive the fall out? Surrender is surprisingly unpredictable. Like life the course is a bit bumpy, but totally worth the ride.

Gareth and Solan wow what a angst story! Gareth has heavy shoulders on him with being there for his brothers and sisters. The minute Gareth meets Solan he wants her but she’s married. Solan finds her husband cheating but is more worried about her daughter and is very afraid that her whole world will be gone. Solan needs to call the shots Gareth needs someone to tell him what to do combined there hot and so perfect it gives you goosebumps. Will Sloan tare down her walls and open up or will everything come crashing down for them both? Definitely a must read and I can’t wait to read what happens next! 5/5 stars

Loved this brother who is so complex as is Sloan, his stylist, married to an English buffoon. Once divorced the chemistry that's been simmering for a couple of years finally surfaces between Gareth and Sloan in an explosive way. To bad they keep secrets. Can't wait to see what happens in part 2.
Amy Daws is a master story teller who gives her characters such an enormous range of emotions. The back story of the Harris children is bittersweet and goes a long way in explaining why they are the way they are in relationships.
Wholeheartedly recommending this book for your reading pleasure and enjoyment.

While I liked and enjoyed the book, Sloan tended to get on my nerves more than anything. She wanted control, set lines, no blurring of boundaries, yet she pushed for more personal info from him and would then get upset when the same question was turned her way. I’m not a fan of hypocrites.

I liked Garreth a lot. He was broody, sweet, gentle, protective, and super sexy. I liked how he treated Sloan (except for one time and I could’ve shook him senseless) and helped build her confidence up.

And that ending?! Man! I NEED to read Dominate STAT so I can see what happened!

Having read both Surrender and Dominate, I give this duet five stars. Although this book can be read as a standalone, I highly recommend reading the rest of the Harris Brothers Series beforehand as this book revisits some of the past with these characters.

We are, however, introduced to a new character: Sloan Montgomery, who was briefly mentioned in Endurance. I admit that I am HARSH on heroines because no one likes a weak female lead OR a...witch. Though there were a couple moments when I worried for Gareth, Sloan's character pulls through and never leaves me hating her. I ultimately loved her character and found her easy to relate to on so many levels, mostly because she is an ADULT. She is a strong, independent, MATURE woman.

That being said, I have loved Gareth as far back as That One Moment, but this duet did something major for me: It knocked #MyHayden to second place because Gareth is EVERYTHING.

This couple together is amazing. I truly loved how real they were together. Nothing about their relationship screams, "This is a fiction book where the rich guy with everything swoops in to save the desperate girl with nothing." There is also no childish, relationship turmoil. This duet is about a relatable couple with real problems and real solutions without eye-rolling drama.

Officially my favorite book by Amy when the duet combines, only because the second book is needed to get closure. However, this speaks volumes because I have been stuck on That One Moment as my #1 from Amy for years.

And, you will get closure. Not only for Gareth and Sloan, but the entire Harris family.

Five stars because I can't give ten.

A STUNNING, MIND OFFICIALLY BLOWN, MORE SATISFYING THAN A BAG OF LAYS CHIPS AND MORE INCREDIBLE THAN IMAGINED READ OF THE SUMMER...NO POSSIBLY THE YEAR!

Holy crap on a cracker, Surrender the first book in the final Harris Brother series was something truly magnificent! This was ULTRAAAA SEXY, Passionate, had EVERY ONE OF THE FEELS, AND SO MANY OF THE TWISTS! It was EPIC! Seriously, I wasn't sure what to expect from this book but I certainly wasn't expecting the many surprises that there were but it sure did make for a HECK of a cliffhanger.

These characters have completely captured my attention. Since the ending, I haven't STOPPED thinking about Sloan and Gareth. I feel on edge and eager for Dominate. I can't wait to see how this ends!

Surrender gets a MEGA BIG FIVE SHOOTING STARS!
