The way the story unfolded was different. I liked the characters and found them to be a good match for each other. The secondary characters were also well developed and the way they fit into the story was also well done. Daniel is a powerful character and new book boyfriend material.

This is terrible....so unrealistic and contrived. I can't believe I read the whole thing. The main character is supposed to be smart, and she is a moron who allows herself to be used and controlled. Her boyfriend is a dominating, controlling abusive man, also supposed to be an insanely smart CEO. HA! The whole plot with her sister is so unbelievable no person with any sense would believe it. Readers deserve better. Thank goodness it was free.

This book was wonderfully written. I loved the heroine. I only wished she had more of a backbone and stood up for herself a little more than she did. There is no cliff-hanger in this story, but the entire series does need to be read.

I cannot STAND heroines that are too stupid to live and that is Bethany. All the evil her sister did and she just took it?!! Dumb! The "hero" was such an jerk to her, betraying her by believing her sister rather then her. And then she easily forgives him after that? This book was a waste of my time and money.

Excellent book. Well written. Full of strife, romance, suspense, intrigue and just a bit of erotica. But what's a good love story without some sex? Quick read. Captures your interest. I recommend this book.

Horribly written. Quickly came to loathe both characters, one immature and one, an egotistical controlling, jerk. It bounced between, he loves me, he loves me not, so much, I got whiplash. And very repetitive and boring sex scenes. Didn't wait to see if the drama was worth it. I gave up and deleted it.

While I must admit that I thoroughly enjoyed this story, the grammatical errors, spelling errors, and punctuation errors were painfully distracting. There were also just too many similarities to Fifty Shades. Not enough character development of Daniel Stone. Bets is highly likeable and easy to connect with. I am rooting for Bets and Daniel and am almost dreading reading the second book because I don't want to find out that there's trouble in paradise.

Erotic romance is not the right title for this. Page after page after page after page.... of hard core sex and no romance. There was no story just hard core porn. Being kinky can be fun, but this went too far and had zero romance.

I couldn't finish this book my eyes keeps rolling everytime I read some of Cristian words. You don't have to copy do your own, original is always the best! This is my first book from the author and I'm very disappointed I really like the cover though.

Where's the plot??!! I absolutely hate giving low ratings. But there's absolutely no substance in the first 10%.. I skipped & realized it wasn't going to get any better. And to think there's more of the same...

This book has a great storyline and really takes off after the first few chapters. The main character, Bethany, is a strong young women which I found very refreshing for this type of book. There are some very witty comments made by the main characters which made me laugh out loud. The twists that evolve in the book are surprising and I didn't see them coming. Several times I thought Oh no that can't happen but the author manages to keep the story going and it is these twists which absolutely make the book.

The raunchy parts are sensitively and well written and not over the top as some are. There is a real story to this book and I thoroughly enjoyed it and am looking forward to the next two in the series. Will be keeping a close eye on Dee Palmer as I feel she is a promising author who manages to write a believable story that keeps you reading the book until the end. Basically I laughed, gasped and shed a tear. Fab !

Wow they say imitation is the greatest form of flattery so EL James must be overwhelmed. I'd be embarrassed to admit I wrote this book. So much stolen from the 50 shades of grey series--vanilla sex, riding crop, sexy rich guy, virgin college student, etc. The actual writing wasn't bad story just unoriginal. I really hope James gets a cut of the royalties.

Never a Choice

Choice’s Trilogy Book 1

Dee Palmer

Romance/ BDSM

5 Stars

Watch out Christian Grey, there’s a new Dom in town and his name is Daniel Stone!!!

This book is just what the author warns you about, the filthy side of smut and very graphic descriptions that are erotic in nature.

This is the first book I have ever read from Ms. Palmer, I can say it won’t be my last!

Daniel and Bethany have the D/s relationship and a contract like no other. It’s not just in the bedroom but, it’s their relationship as a whole. It’s his way or no way. She is just stubborn enough to test those waters.

There is more to this book/series than just Daniel and Bethany. We get glimpses in each of their lives past and present. Bethany with her Mom, sister Kat, and her best friend Sofia and her twin brother Marco, and their family.

I’m afraid of saying too much, and spoiling it for you, I don’t like when that happens so I’m going to stop my review here, just know that once you start this book you will want to follow it with the others so have them handy to move on to!!

‘Never a Choice’ gives lessons in forgiveness and selflessness along with cruelty and malice. It shows that, literally, for some there is no choice but surrender. Do I agree? Not exactly. Probably because I’m not one to back down.

It just scrapes the surface of BDSM, I’d say it’s vanilla with spice, with a promise of more in the future. There is a chase, there is submission. There is fun and intensity. Nonetheless, the most important factor is mystery.
You never know what to expect, what to think of any of this. Is this a charity case or is it simply lust ridden adventure? Will there be more or are we expected to be satisfied with the way it is?

At the beginning the story is disguised in black and white.

Bethany tries to get her life organized. Get a degree, better job to be able to provide for her sick mother, fight the ghosts of the past altogether with the skeletons in the closet. She has a secret she tries to keep hidden. She fools everyone but him.

And here come the shades of grey.

Daniel is a controlling, demanding and frustrating alpha man. He always gets what he wants. Not that his looks and prosperity are any obstacles. Beside that there is not much we get to know about him. Well, maybe that he’s got a taste for discipline.

I admit, it’s scorching hot, yet many things are hidden in a fog of uncertainty. Moreover, what’s astonishing are the games they play, in many of forms.

Hush-hush late night calls? Unidentified mystery lingerie deliveries? The whole big deal was ridiculous if you ask me. Domineering head games all over the place? Another one. Grabbing cash and go? Check.

For bystanders these games of deny are hard to believe in, when everything, every little pointer fits right into the puzzle, so convenient it’s almost stupid. Forgive me my being so dramatic and blunt. That’s just the way I see it. Maybe it was supposed to be that way, for us to be the wiser ones and all.

Excruciating pain and unfairness, twisted family ties and backstabbing sisters. Another aspect.

Obedience and resistance, to and fro, up and down. Just like the emotions. It is quite a ride.

Still, I’m blood thirsty. I have admired and simultaneously been shocked by Bethany’s understanding, if not magnanimous behavior.
Possibly I’m a masochist because I quite liked it, sometimes a lot.
Angsty, with a promise of retribution. I’m waiting for that.
And the man himself? He has some groveling to do.
I wonder what the author has up her sleeve next.

To sum up: I liked how it started, mysterious and exciting. The second part of the book frustrated me, simultaneously boiling my blood and chilling up my bones. I give it 4 stars. It has potential.

** Provided on behalf of the author for an honest review **

Bethany struggles everyday!

She has a demanding job, studies part time and her mum has late stage dementia which sees her in a nursing home.

Bethany is doing all of this for her mum. Has been doing all of this since her sister, Kit, disappeared with the money from the sale of their childhood home.

Bethany (Bets) knows all about loss……. Her childhood sweetheart was murdered defending her.

When she first meets Daniel, sparks fly, but she denies her feelings towards him.

Bets takes on a second job at a late night call centre, where she becomes Lola, a sultry submissive.

She only has one caller who she only knows as Sir.

What will happen when Bets realises that Daniel and Sir are the same person?
And when her sister turns up in her life again, will Bets lose everything……again?

A truly beautifully written book which left us wanting more. The first book in a trilogy that will leave the reader with unanswered questions, is simply perfect.

A must read.

A definite 5 star read.

Uncaged Book Reviews:

It was one of those books where you get lost in the pages. Dee does a fantastic job with description that I often desire and long for in erotic stories. My only complaint is that some times the things spoken during the sex scenes kind of made me snicker in amusement. Some of the vocal responses are a little much at times. That aside, I throughly loved this read and would recommend it to anyone who enjoys Dominant and submissive adult novels.

****A review for A kiss down under book blog****

Where to even begin... This book has absolutely everything you need in it.. Sex, some BSDM, angst, resistance of course and a deliciously hot main with a main female who is crazy enough to try to hold herself back from him. I seriously loved Daniel and Bethany, they are an amazing pair and I was heart broken at times at what they would go through and hot and bothered at others. Trust me this is a book you want to read! This will not disappoint, I can't wait to see what happens next for them!

What an amazing read, at every turn there's something happening so no dull moments in this book!
Bethany or Bets is one strong, amazing and determined woman! She's had a bit of a hard life, only having her mom and a life full of turns she lives with a moto, no more! But when she meets Mr Stone everything in her life changes! And then someone from her past shows up and things get every interesting! Danger, love, emotional, amazing sex and love all play major parts, but the biggest is the strength that Bets gains from her "family"!

WOW... I never expect much from a free novel, but I was pleasantly surprised firstly by the length of the book. A full length story is a rare find in the freebie section. The characters were well developed and I began to feel empathy with them (to me, the sign of a very good writer). I loved the discovery of BDSM and Bethany's journey along this road. But it was also frought with drama and sorrow, along with twists and turns that kept me on the edge of my seat.

Essentially a love story, with a side of Domination, the sex scenes were superbly written and as a submissive myself I fell easily into Bethany's headspace.

I was more than happy to find there were 2 more books in the series, and in finding them to purchase I also found out this is a debut book for the author Dee Palmer. I am more than impressed.

Well done and cant wait to get into book 2 and 3.

Many thanks

Loved it. Well written with complete story and cast. Bethany is awesome in she is not a pansy but she is not the dom. She is hard working college student with alot of past working on her past and future. Daniel Stone, Dom and lecturer at the college and Bethanys intro to all that is sex and love. However they have many obstacles to overcome. One being Bethanys sister who is disowned.

This book had no plot and very little character development, the sex was over the top so much so that I flipped through it.. To be fair I only got about 1/2 way through and gave up... when you can careless about the characters how it turns out doesn’t seems to matter..

I loved loved this book. The writing and the story line were fantastic. I couldn't put it down. I won't give you any spoilers but if your are looking for a dominate male and a strong minded female (at times), then this is the book for you.

I'm always wary of investing the time into reading a new author, but there was no need to be with "Never a Choice". I was surprised at how quickly I got into this story. The book flowed smoothly from the first chapter, and I 'got' the characters from the start'! This was a one-sitting read - a rare thing for me nowadays. It's a book that stands alone as a good read, but left me wanting to know where the story goes from here. There is plenty in the leading lady's life to give the reader a break from the intensity of the relationship between the main characters (not that I was looking for too much of a break!!). Well done to the author. In a genre that is pretty saturated at the moment, this book was a refreshingly good read. Believable, relevant & raunchy. A great first book - bring on the next, ASAP please ;-)

Absolutely LOVED this story, so gripping from the start all the way to the finish! Some real HOT bedroom scenes ( puts 50 shades in the grey)!
Such fantastic characters, some not so nice! Really cannot wait for the next book to come out now!. So to sum it up.... Sexy, Gripping, contains love, crime and romance. A book you cannot put down, make sure your e reader is fully charged!

I enjoyed this book very much. The story line was a great one. Bethany is a very strong young women she has been through a lot in her life. She loss her best friend at a young age. Her mother was in a nursing home and her memories would come and go. Bethany had to work two jobs and she was going to college too. She meets Daniel and sparks flies. We found out she has a sister but Bethany doesn't have anything to do with her for good reasons. I recommend this book too anyone who loves to read a good story. I got this book free for agreeing to leave a review. I can't wait to read the other two books in this series.

This book had me hooked from the beginning. My sister told me about the series and between the deals and my Prime, I was able to continue reading without a break. I just love the writing style. There was just enough "steam" to make it a great adult read. The characters were exciting and the story flowed and was easy to follow. I highly recommend the series. Might as well buy the bundle of all three and the novella because I'm sure you will enjoy this book as much as I did and want to read all of the series to follow the characters. I really hope there are more books with these characters as part of them.
