My daughter's riding instructor recommended anything written by Cherry Hill but especially this title. My daughter is 13 and could not put it down. She is a homeschooled girl who is an avid reader especially about horses.

This book is absolutely addicting. If you have a horse or just love horses, you'll delight in all the details and trivia about the mind of the horse, why it does what it does, and how to think like a horse. Factual, anecdotal, plenty of photos, easy to digest. A really wonderful book about an extraordinary animal.

We bought this book for our eight year old granddaughter, who is beginning to really get into horses. Her parents report that this book will be an invaluable resource to return to time and again for answers to questions about getting comfortable with horses. That's what we were hoping, so success!

This book covers all the basic principles of horse behavior. Being a new horsewoman, I was looking for insight into how a horse thinks and reacts. Good topics, explained very well and love the layout. Thanks to Cherry Hill for sharing her knowledge so that I can build a better relationship with the equines in my care.

Excellent book in learning how to get in the mindset of your horse or just any horse and how they got to that point. I would recommend this book and also the "What every horse should know".

I'm just a beginner, though, so take a little from every book to find that sweet spot where I am the Alpha but treat them with respect. They are very honorable creatures. They can get irritated, but hold no grudges like man does and want to help as long as they are given respect for what they do for us.

A MUST read for every horse owner, caretaker, trainer, etc., old and new! This book gets you to where you have always wanted to be with your horse, FAST! This book is excellent for learning how to read, communicate, understand and care for your horse. I bought a lot of books before I found this one. I wish I found this one first.

I know nothing about horses, but my grandaughter, ( an accomplished 15 year old horsewoman) tells me that it is one of the best books on horses that she has read. She says that it gives awonderful insight into the mind of a horse. I just claimed the brownie points for finding it.

I bought this book with great enthusiasm, ready to learn and gain insight into equine behaviour. I was really disappointed. An easy read with a few interesting points but nothing to sink your teeth into.

This book was informative, with a great mix of science/facts, experience, and emotional reaction...of horses and people. I learned a lot from reading it. I wish there were more like it, with even more in-depth information about how horses think and react.
