I work with a couple Stuart Woods fans and we all really enjoy the Stone Barrington series of books (Holly kind of annoys us, and the other guy we completely ignore.)

So, that being said, I liked this book. The thing about the Stone Barrington series is how it has evolved with Stone's life. First, it was guns and bad guys and him and Dino running around. Then, it shifted focus to less blood, more sex, legal wheeling and dealing, and Stone starting to turn a profit. As Stone made his way into the wealthy circles, he became wealthy. I enjoyed it when he was trying to figure out how to pay his bills, and I liked it just as much when he bought airplanes and was swimming in cash.

This book introduces us to Stone's son AND Dino's son. When the book shoots off to follow them, it's like a YA Stone Barrington novel! Watching the mini-Stone and mini-Dino make their way through their teenage subplots was a lot of fun for me. And of course, anyone who Stone loves has to die...and there's lots more money falling into his lap (his lap is always quite busy) and everything turns out great in the end, in a warped sort of way.

I wasn't disappointed in the least...and after reading this book I'm more curious than ever as to where Woods is taking us next.

Utterly ridiculous. Wish I could get my money back. Catering to every whim of a 'perfect' child, including changing legal documents "because he wants to be 18" was the icing on the cake. Stone finally ends up married to the "love of his life", then there is hardly a sniffle when she gets whacked. Empty, emotionless characters. I am done with this series.

All of the Stuart Woods books have provided me with a great deal of entertainment. Each is different but weaves in many of the same characters as they age and go through their lives. Some of the lesser characters recur here and there, making each book more interesting. Read them in order to keep up with the movement. Thoroughly enjoyable with many plots about places and matters that I otherwise might not have been overly interested in until reading them in these books. I keep tied for more from Mr. Woods.

I have enjoyed all of Stuart Woods books, until now. There was never a fully developed plot in this latest Stone Barrington book. The most exciting parts (there were two) were all handled in just a few pages with very little build up. I hope the Stone Barrington books haven't run their course as I really enjoyed all of the others.

A neat little short story for fans, worth perhaps $3.99.

First-timers should forget it.

But plot development . . .

Why kill off a character he's spent years creating? Perhaps the sex was too boring for our super-stud?

And I kinda sympathised with the bad guy.

Hell hath no fury like a lover scorned

Stuart Woods books always grab my attention from the get go, however Sin Of Stone took a few chapters to get me into the mood where I don't want to put the book down until its done. All in all it's still a pretty good read.

This book started out a bit different than others in this series but it is still very good. I have read the majority of Stuart Woods books and all but 2 of the Stone Barrington series. If you are looking for a crime/police that is a page turner, you should check this one out.

Stuart Wood's Stone Barrington series is wonderfully predictable. All the good guys/gals are handsome/gorgeous, rich or married rich, successful, poised, and they all have an enviable libido. I don't have to agonize or suffer for my hero/heroine; they are all so well connected and protected that there is no way they are not going to land on their feet at the end - and then they'll have a drink.

I have read all the Stone Barrington books and enjoyed them. This one though I felt was detached, too many subjects that were just glossed over. I got the feeling the author was bored and just trying to get to the next book. I have never felt this way before in reading any of Stuart Woods books.

Stuart Woods puts stone barrington and dino together as parents......wow, very different for both but a perfect addition to the contin uing story of the famous stone barrington. Knowing the mother wold be easy for normal stuart woods readers but the twist towards the end keeps you on edge. Great book!!

This is just a little different with less guns and guts then the other Stone Barrington stories but it ties together many lose ends from several other books. Still a very good read and a must have to keep up with Stones life and the many changes taking place.

It was good to see Stone Barrington finding out he has a Son and family which will keep the life span of him and his NYC crazy world going. Stuart Woods does not dissapoint you in this book/have been a fan of him for a long time

Probably the best book in the series in my opinion, great roller-coaster of storylines and emotions, and really sets up the rest of the later series. Addictive reading, I stayed up late 2 nights in a row to finish it,and put it down thinking "wow, great book!"

I believe the expression "jumped the shark" can be applied here. Hello??? Is there an author in the house? Evidently, Mr. Woods started aimlessly ambling through the Virginia countryside and got hopelessly lost. And please spare me from multiple references to Stone's tight little ass. And his two-dimensional son sounds like something Sony invented. A Stepford love-child. At least I only got the Kindle version and won't be sullying the environment with this incredibly disappointing trash. Apart from that, though...

I have enjoyed all of the Stone Barrington stories I have read so far. This one a little different from the usual mysteries. More of a
family type and has a pleasant ending. Good reading. I can picture one of the famous English movie actors playing Stone in one of
his stories in a movie.

I read all the stone barrington books by stuart woods and enjoy them all but this one was special. it had a more indepth look at stone and arringtons personal life and the character of his son was a welcome addition. although the book makes them all out to be a little too perfect, i think that is what fiction is all about. woods does one heck of a job making his characters interesting. if you are a woods fan dont miss out on this novel.

Puh-leeze. I used to like Stone Barrington and the adventures he got himself involved with, but this book was a total waste of my time. Come on Stuart- you can do better than this. Please go back to the old formula!

Please see my review for Unnatural Acts. But in a nutshell, if you are or have ever been a fan of Stuart woods and the Stone Barrington series, this book is a "must read" ... you will be glad you did!

Woods has a unique, cryptic style. This installment in the long running series is typical Woods. Stone Barrington is aware the son of his long time love, Arrington Calder is actually his biological child. This book brings that relationship to the forefront, establishing Stone as "Dad". The story moves quickly and the ending is obvious early on. For much of this book it feels like you are being given information you will need in future installments and Woods is setting up future books. But if you are a long time fan of the series this is not to be missed.

PS - Mr. Woods - teenagers (even affluent, intelligent, motivated teenagers) don't talk this way.
