In Jack's Arms (Fighting Connollys #2)

This book was okay. I definitely enjoy the Russian protector series better. I do like how both series interconnect; however at times it felt like I needed a list just to keep all of the names and people straight. For some reason the main characters felt really one dimensional to me and I struggled with that at times. I didn't feel any emotional connection to them. I am, however, looking forward to sampling In Flynn's Heart.

Second book in this series and the eldest Connolly brother Jack gets his story. Abby owns and runs her own pawn shop left to her by her grandfather. Jack has admired Abby from afar for a while, he'd like nothing better than to get up close and personal with her. Abby has no clue that Jack wants her, she has been secretly in love with Jack forever, she attends the weekly self defence course that Jack runs with his younger brother Finn at the gym they own. She's seen the gorgeous curvy women all over him at the class, thinking she doesn't stand a chance with him. All that changes when danger threatens. Then Jack steps up to protect and claim Abby.

Another good read read from one of my favourite authors. It's just as good as the first book. Fast paced and action packed. I loved Jack, he was pure alpha, bossy and protective. Abby was a delight she was easy to relate to. The love scenes are very sensuous. I am really looking forward to the next starring the other Connolly brother Finn.

I enjoyed this read more than the previous book about Kelly. I felt this was more in the world of Jack and Abby, of course with all the villains thrown in, but even so, this couple stood out and it was interesting because of this. What I really found interesting was that the heroine was a pawn-broker, and this was what she wanted to do with the rest of her life. I found this very intriguing for some reason because I don't think I have ever read this before. And she knows her business too, which was doubly amazing to me. Loved that this romance was about regular folks and of course the underworld plays a big part.

Gym owner and former Marine, Jack Connolly is one the better written romantic heroes. His alpha quotient is a level 10 and then some, yet he is still very charming, sensitive and H.O.T. The heroine, Abby is no shrinking violets and as equally compelling. I loved all the backstory and I really appreciated the believability and complexity Rivera gave all the characters.

Where should I start... AMAZING! I was looking forward to this next book in the series! You don't want to miss this series!! This is the 2nd book that I have read if Roxie Rivera and I can tell you it will not be my last! As I love the suspense romance. I loved jacks book even more than Kelly's and I am sooooooo looking forward to reading Finn's book that is coming out soon!!!!
