Great start to a new series. WOW, absolutely adored Hetch and Liberty. While the subject matter hits close to home, Hetch was well written w/the drama, suspense and humor. I especially loved the dual POV. This is a definitely mus read for everyone. Oh and who must forget Arabella, can't wait to see her in Payton's book!

Well written, no major grammar or editorial issues. The tactical info for the SWAT scenes was well presented. At first, I was put off by the opening meeting of the two main characters. It was really bad and sleazy more than erotic or enticing. But pushing on, I liked the development of the relationship and how it led to each of them exploring personal issues about relationships. Being a cop is a dangerous job. Being a youth worker is also. I'm glad he didn't push against her for her devotion to it and "her"boys. One final complaint...what did she say about her scumbag, cheating brother being at the birthday party? That wasn't answered or even mentioned after he showed up.

Liam “Hetch” Hetcherson, is without a doubt, total badassary! The man is fearless in everything that he does, but when it comes to Liberty, she unleashes feelings in him he has tried to suppress. His tough façade is now being tested as she tries her hardest to push past the rough exterior of who Liam portrays to get to his heart.
To say I fell in love with Hetch is an understatement. The man reminds me of Sgt. Hank Voight from the television show Chicago PD. Voight protects those he loves by any means necessary once telling his Intelligence team, “to tell him the truth so he [Voight] can lie for you.” I feel that Liam was the same way. He is continuously in protective mode, of himself, him team, but most of all, Liberty.
Their banter between Hetch and his team was quick-witted and funny, crass and sarcastic and they are the guys I’d sit and watch just to hear them rib one another. The chemistry between Hetch and Liberty was something else entirely. It was sexy and passionate, sarcastic at times, but raw and real. One can’t deny a fire like that.
Liam is honorable and dedicated and takes the oath to serve and protect seriously. River Savage hit my hot spots with Hetch, I love a man in uniform!! I am excited to read more of her “Men of SWAT” series to see what road this adventure takes. Awesome job River!!!

OMG Hetch is now my favorite book from this author, and believe me that's hard to do since I LOVE LOVE LOVE everything she writes! Liam "Hetch" Hetcherson is the leader of a SWAT team that is highly trained to face life threatening situations. But he has some serious demons that he's battling. On his down time, he has a revolving door of women that he hooks up with. Liberty Jensen is a strong, caring, and selfless woman that spends the majority of her time working at a high risk teen boys home as a youth leader. She's tirelessly trying to keep them from destroying their lives and/or dying too young. After a break up, she moves next door to Hetch, and hears in surround sound, how many women he brings home so she writes him off as a player. When they meet at a bar, the sparks are flying, but when they find out they are neighbors, Liberty shuts it down. But he won't stay away from her, so she can't help falling for him, and he can't get her out of his head. However when the demons make a big appearance after a bad situation at work, will he get help or push her away for good?
This story is a beautifully heart wrenching read that had my emotions on high alert. The character development is spot on, with a highly entertaining cast of secondaries. An emotionally charged, addictive, and very well written storyline flows effortlessly. Flammable chemistry EXPLODES into the FIERY flames of sexy scene goodness that will leave no panties intact, while the well placed humor had me rolling until my sides hurt. River Savage's brilliant writing style had my heart racing cover to cover, with twists and turns that made for insane OMG moments. The way she wrote about suicide was realistic, and yet showed compassion. I'm a huge fan girl, so I'm always impatiently waiting for her next great book! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND Hetch!

Note: Hetch brawls with the destructive effects of suicide, the repercussions for those left behind, mental illness and PTSD. Anyone that might have possible triggers or fight against these may want to not click this one up.
If you are struggling, please reach out to a friend, a stranger or another warrior fighting to stay alive. There is someone ready to stand beside you and have your six.
Liam Hetcherson is SWAT; team lead heading his men into delicate yet elevated situations. He is trained to save lives and take bad ones. The one man he couldn’t save haunts him in his dreams. The word association; coward. Being dead and taking your life are two different things. You die from disease or an accident … not at your own hands. Hetch is a good man but his demons don’t allow him to do anything other than find a suitable lady to take home and burn off some energy; to chase the nightmares away if just for a small period of time. Trying to sleep off his latest drop off the deep end he is woken by a loud vibrating noise on the other side of his wall ….
Liberty Jensen is on a sabbatical of sorts. She has thrown herself into her work. Her job at Boys Haven is not only important to her but she takes it with the upmost responsibility. These boys are turning the corners and can be pulled back into the streets at any moment. Her sabbatical though continues to be interrupted by her naughty neighbor. The walls in her building are paper thin leaving very little to the imagination of what he is doing to his latest conquest. She has never seen the man but he must be a God ….
And the story goes from here …. And oh what a story it is. On these pages you have a love story, a story of fighting for each other, a story of pain and a story of finding yourself. Not only do you have Liberty and Hetch’s tale but you are also being woven into the lives of Liberty and Hetch’s family along with the other men of SWAT.
Let me just tell you we are in for a series like no other. I found myself intertwined into every single page I turned. If it wasn’t Liberty and Hetch it was Mason, if it wasn’t Mason it was Sterling, if it wasn’t Sterling it was Dakota (um yup that one is going to be great) and of course there is something brewing with Payton. Yes I know you want to know who these characters are but I'm not telling .. you are going to have to click it up.
The story within the stories are brilliant and yet I found myself completely immersed in the last few chapters wanting and waiting to hear the words Hetch needed to hear as well. Hetch is a character I wont forget, I need more of and I will hold dear to my heart. This book was more than worth the wait. I hate spoilers but what I can tell you is that you need to grab this one up. Don’t wait because next up is Mason Fox. I have a feeling his story is going to be another doozie for us to hold tight to.
Thank you River for an amazing read. I stand and applaud you for taking on a taboo (in some people’s mind) topic and shining your light on it.
If anything this book teaches us to reach out before its too late and that every minute you spend with the ones you love need to be treasured and captured in your memories for safe keeping.

Really wanted to love this book. Started out really well and seemed like it was going to be enjoyable, somehat similar to lani Lynn Vale's novels , but went downhill for me from Hetch and Liberty's first meeting in a bar. They don"t realise that they are neighbours until they head home together after a somewhat adversarial start due to Liberty's man embargo because of an unpleasant ex boyfriend. Overall, Liberty as a character was my main turnoff in this book. She seemed to be quite immature, judgemental and actually quite unpleasant, wanting to argue just to have an argument. Her response to Hetch's issues due to a traumatic event he witnessed three years earlier did not appeal to me - thought it showed a huge lack of understanding. However, the writing was well done. just not sure why some authors think a relationship where you constantly bicker is fun because in real life it would drive me mad.

River Savage has outdone herself this time. She continues to blow our minds continuously with one amazing book after another. She doesn’t fail us with the first book in her new series, Men Of S.W.A.T. Hetch is absolutely one of the best books I’ve read this year. Amazingly awesome!
Hetch was a seriously emotional read for me. It hit home and felt very personal. I could totally relate to the way Hetch felt and thought about his past and what had happened. I also loved his sexy as hell self. River sure knows how to deliver the sexiest book boyfriends.
Liberty, talk about a strong woman. She was perfect in every way, including her flaws. There couldn’t be anyone better for this part than her. River doesn’t skimp on her leading ladies. We can add Liberty to the All Time Favorite Females list for sure.
Hetch is the beginning of, what I expect to be, an amazing series. This is definitely a must read. Even though it’s a new path that Ms. Savage is traveling down it still comes packed with her brilliant style of writing. All the things we love about her books is right here. Watch out Knights Rebels MC, the Men of S.W.A.T are here.

If you have read a River Savage book before, then you are familiar with her Knights Rebels MC Series where her stories are a bit gritty, violent, and raw. And so when I found out River Savage was writing a new series, I couldn’t wait to get my hands on HETCH and see what Ms. Savage has in store for her readers and the new direction this series will take on.
HETCH, the first book in the Men of Swat Series was a complete surprise. Well more like an amazing surprise. As much as I love reading River’s Knights Rebels MC Series, it was so refreshing to read a book that deals with a group of SWAT team members and the life that they have to endure. While I am used to the gritty and violent nature of River’s MC series, I loved that River Savage has managed to mesmerized her readers with the pull of raw emotions and tackling a sensitive issue of suicide.
Liam Hetcherson is part of a tactical unit in the POLICE department. As a member of SWAT, his job entails him to put his life on the line in order to protect civilians. As a tough man, he has this hard exterior who tries to keep his emotions in check since he knows and has experienced loss first hand. Liam Hetcherson knows what it is like to not be able to save someone you love and so he keeps his inner turmoil bottled up.
Liberty Jenson is a social worker director who works for an at risk home for young boys. Liberty loves her job and tries her best to help these young men find a purpose and drive in life. While Liberty loves her profession, her love life is pretty much non-existent that is until she finds herself getting acquainted with her neighbor, Liam “Hetch” Hercherson.
“He pulls back slightly, his eyes flash with confusion, before flicking back to hunger. Then his lips lock back to mine, diving his tongue back in my mouth and branding me like he owns me. It’s like being thirsty on a hot day, and downing a bottle of water in twenty seconds. You swallow every last drop, suck every bit of air until you’re out of breath. Only then are you satisfied, fulfilled. Relieved. That’s what kissing Hetch is like.”
Hetch and Liberty didn’t realized that they were neighbors who shared a very thin wall. So you can imagine, Liberty can hear all the casual hook-ups that Hetch brings into his bedroom and Hetch can hear Liberty’s effort to self pleasuring herself. And so when these two finally discovered that they were neighbors when they meet for the very first time, sexual tension was radiating off these two. And soon all the sexual tension couldn’t be contained any longer once they shared a fiery hot passionate kiss. One kiss lead them to be tangled in the sheets and the rest was history. As much as Hetch and Liberty were compatible in the bedroom, Hetch was still struggling with his inner turmoil with his father’s suicide. Will Liberty be able to save Hetch and free him of his burdens?
“F&%* me. If I wasn’t so opposed to love, I think I could find myself falling for her.”
HETCH was one of those sexy emotional reads that packed the right amount of emotions, heat, chemistry and love to pull readers into understanding the tangible bond between Liam and Liberty. Both Liam and Liberty’s job were to save people but together, they were able to save each other in more ways than one. I love the chemistry and different direction that River Savage took with this book. She allowed readers to feel for her characters and see below the surface of their vulnerability, raw emotions and love. So if you are looking for a book that was exceptionally well written that is filled with depth, steam, understanding, new beginnings, healing and love then I urge you to read HETCH and meet the MEN of SWAT.

One of my favorite biker book series is ‘the Knight Rebels series’ by River Savage. Although it’s set in a biker world, the men treat their woman with love and respect, don’t treat them like dirt. When I heard the author was working on a whole new series – and this time involving members of a SWAT team – it immediately caught my attention. Hetch surely didn’t disappoint.
“I once heard you can trace who you’ve become in this life to three external factors: ten defining moments; seven critical choices; and five pivotal people. I’m not sure how true it is, but it’s one of those things that always stuck with me.”
Three years ago Liam (aka Hetch) watched the suicide of his own father; he did try to talk him out of it, but he couldn’t stop him. To this day his suffers from the aftermath, trying to drown his demons with alcohol and the company of women. When he meets the beautiful Liberty at his usual hangout, it doesn’t take long before he realizes she and his annoying neighbor are one and the same. Even though she gives him a hard brush-off, he can’t stay away from her.
“I wasn’t lying when I said she was unexpected. She excites me, intrigues me, and even if the night ended the way it did, it’s the first time in a long time I’m looking forward to more. More what, I don’t know. But I can’t wait to find out.”
Liberty just started her live over. After she found out about the cheating of her boyfriend she moved to a different city, closer to her work as a youth worker. She’s passionate about her work, truly gives about the youngster under her care. Being newly single she promised herself no men and no sex for six months, no meaningless hookups. The only problem is her new neighbor Hetch; with very thin walls she hears some of his sexcapades. When she meets him in real life and figures out he is her neighbor she does her best to fight the pull between them.
“Is this supposed to impress me?” At this point, I don’t know why I’m still engaging. Sure he’s hot, dangerous dimples, and looks amazing in the tight jeans and dark Henley he’s wearing, but the man is cocky as hell. That combo never mixes well.”
From the moment Liberty and Hetch meet there’s an instant attraction between them. After a little rough start Hetch helps Liberty out with a dangerous, work-related situation and slowly Liberty lets down her guard around him. The couple together is fun; Hetch tries to be all Alpha, but Liberty fights him at every corner. When they finally do have sex, it’s hot and explosive, Hetch is one dirty talker. Before they have a chance at a happily ever after the couple – mainly Hetch – has some though battles to fight, but in the end they both choose each other.
Hetch is the first book in ‘the Men of S.W.A.T. series’, besides Hetch and Liberty the main characters for the next books are introduced. This isn’t just a romance book; a lot of action takes place with Hetch’s SWAT team and a lot is told about their line of work and the other team members. I really like the Hetch and Liberty, and I can’t wait for the stories of Kota and Payton in future books.
“I don’t answer her with a promise. Because the promise of something so big is too dangerous to lie about, especially with my job. Instead, I hold her against me and promise never to stop loving her. To never stop making her laugh, and to always come home when I can.”
I’ve enjoyed meeting Hetch and Liberty, I give their story 4 stars.

Hetch is book one in River Savages new series Men of S.W.A.T, I was so excited when I learned she was coming up with a new series and I'll tell you this...... River did not disappoint this book is such a brilliantly written masterpiece.
River blew this story out of the ball park, it dealt with a very sensitive subject and she wrote it flawlessly. The research was spot on and it touched my heart so deeply that I can't say enough good about it.
If you've read River's MC series you will see this is way different she took another direction in this series and I'll tell you that you will fall hard it's brilliant it's not raw and gritty like we are used to but still it's full of angst and strong leading characters.
I fell so hard from the opening of this book. We meet Hetch (Liam Hetcherson) while he is trying to sleep and is suddenly distracted by sounds coming from his neighbors apartment next door , sharing a very thin wall.
When you read this part you will be hooked and won't be able to put this book down I promise you that. It had me in stitches laughing so hard.
Hetch (Liam Hetcherson) is a team leader with S.W.A.T, he's a hot alpha guy, and hard core , but what we begin to witness while following this story's plot is a man hiding behind grief and the path of destruction until it finally blows. My heart hurt for this man so much I wanted to jump in this book and tell him everything will be ok but.... there were parts I wanted to smack him senseless too then in the next breath he had me laughing so hard. This book was so full of emotions from start to finish I couldn't put it down.
Liberty Jensen is dealing with a past breakup and is "on a sex sabbatical " and putting herself deep in her work helping young disadvantaged teens so when she settles in at night in her new apartment she finds her pleasure but what she doesn't realize is ..... That the walls in her place are paper thin and she gets the shock of her life when her very active neighbor hears what she is doing. This opens up to one of the most funniest scenes I've read in a long time and how she handles it was so epic? Liberty is no slouch she's a strong female that takes no bull.
I'm not getting into this story because it's hard to not give away too much so all I will say is go get this book and read it now it's one of the best stories out there it's so packed with emotions and learning how to deal with grief and come up on top plus learning how to love and heal.
I'm already so anxious for the next book in this series there are so many possibilities on who will be spotlighted the side characters are amazing and I want to hear their stories NOW !!!!
My top read of 2016!!
This book is unlike anything I've read from River Savage before. I'm used to her gritty dark MC men that I love, but this was not that it was so much more. This book still had a River Savage edge but with a lighter side. This book is gripping and the characters are so lovable and charismatic but have a story to their past that you hang on to with both hands. She takes such an emotional tumultuous devastating situation and makes it beautiful!!
This is the story of Liberty and Hetch. Liberty is just your average 30 year old on a sabbatical. She is tried of the same ol same ol. So she decides it's time for a change time for her so she focuses on her work. She works as an administrator in a boys home for children who have no one or no where to go. She loves her job and the children which she will do anything for. Sometimes this gets her into bad situations, but none the less she loves it.
Hetch works on a tactical unit. He loves his job and does his best everyday, but sometimes your best can still change nothing. Which was the case with his father. After his loss Hetch wants no commitments or anything to tie him down. In order to deal with the stress of life Hetch tends to drink and get it in which works for him.
Liberty has always been annoyed by her neighbor overly active bedroom antics because saying the walls are thin in her apartment is an understatement. So finally on a night of peace she tries to work some solo magic of her own and no more get flying when her neighbor knocks on the wall and says "wait for me". Moving on from that embarrassment she has a girls night out and after some persuading from a handsome stranger Liberty decides to break the sabbatical and go for it and decides to go home with the handsome man at the bar. Only to find the handsome stranger is Mr Wait for Me himself, to say things go smooth after that is a lie. They tend to butt heads at any given time but the chemistry is still there and when Liberty finds herself in a dangerous situation there is no way Hetch is letting her deal with it alone.
Liberty and Hetch's connection is like no other. They bring out the best in each other and spend every moment together. Until Hetch is put in a situation that takes him back to the loss of his father and he realizes maybe he hasn't dealt with his loss and that realization caves everything for him and Liberty. He feels like he well never be enough.
This story amazingly tells the effects of suicide. This line stuck with me and said so many things. "“A man who was sick? He probably didn't think very far ahead. When you try to pull someone out of their horror show, they have a way of dragging you into their nightmares. Maybe your father thought he was trying to save you from his darkness.”
Do not miss this amazing story. I can not wait for the rest of the guys!!!

Wow!! I feel like doing something bad right now just so I could get in trouble!! From the moment I read the first page,I knew this book was going to take me on one hell of a ride. This is how stories are supposed to be portrayed. We go on a journey with these charcters from the good to the down right ugly, all the way to finish line and pray like heck they get their happily ever after. We believe so much in these characters and their fight, that we sometimes forget our own reality and stay in their world. That's what a good book does.
Liam "Hetch" Hetcherson is the Captain of his Swat Team. Trained to handle even the most dangerous situations, his work life is nothing compared to his personal one. Hanging out with his buddies amd screwing a random chick from time to time is his way of decompressing his stress. What he's not a fan of is his thin as hell apartment walls and when you're banging the way he does? You do NOT want to be his neighbor.
Liberty has decided to swear off men. For the next six months her only companion will be her trusty vibrator. While getting to know herself, *coughs*,she's rudely interrupted by her neighbor who thinks they should meet each other. This does not go over well and unbeknowest to them, they end up meeting in each other in a very funny way that had me laughing out loud and shaking my head. Those two together had me turning the page so fast, just so I could read what was going to happen next.
Suffering a tragic loss has left Hetch a shell of a person on the inside. On the outside, he has everything under control and he's trying really hard to get back to the person he once was. What he wasn't expecting was to fall for Liberty and having her change him in a way that felt natural and cathartic. But how long will Hetch be able to live in that bubble? They say time heals all wounds but in his case, he's gonna need more than that.
I freakin LOVED this story. It was such a natural slow burn and we got to see how the relationship was built. Hetch and Liberty took their time with each other while building their own proffessional careers and making time for each other. This was a story about what it's like to lose someone and trying to find your own place in the world.
How do you move on from that? And CAN you really move on? This author took this story and made it very unique. From the brotherhood of the team, to seeing how death can impact a loved one's life,"Hetch's journey will have you rooting for him.

What a pleasant surprise this book was! It grabs you from the very first page and takes you on the ride of your life! The romance between Liberty and Hetch is hot, tension-filled, and very sweet. It’s amazing how the romance doesn’t suffer in the midst of all the suspense, but it doesn’t. I savored each word of every page thoroughly.
Hetch is the leader of a SWAT team, an elite unit used to resolve high-risk situations such as hostage rescue and riot control. He is trained to face dangerous and life-threatening situations. He’s fearless, honest and loyal. He enjoys bonding with his teammates at a local bar and having sex with women without attachment. He’s also haunted by his father’s suicide right in front of his eyes, an event that has led to severe emotional and psychological trauma.
Liberty works with at-risk youth dealing with anger, violence, delinquency and other teen behavior problems. She is caring, strong, persistent, loving and selfless. After a messy break-up, she moves to a new place which is safer and closer to town. Everything is perfect, except for the paper thin walls due to which she is able to hear her neighbor next door having very noisy sexo_O !!!
One night, Liberty and Hetch meet at a bar and the passion between them heats up. Imagine their surprise when they realize that Hetch is actually Liberty’s naughty neighbor!! Her growing attraction to Hetch is a little too much to handle. Even knowing that, she can’t help falling in love with the tough SWAT chief and losing herself in the games they play in the bedroom. Hetch is overwhelmed by his need for her. Unfortunately, painful memories of his father and life threatening situations at work will make it difficult for him to keep his relationship in balance.
The sexual chemistry and heat coming off the pages should have set the book alight. Hetch’s passion run deep and hard. I had to fan myself a time or two. Everything about this book worked, on so many levels. The characters (even the secondary ones) felt real and well-rounded. The bond that the SWAT men had with each other was truly special. Also, I smiled a lot during this book!! In my opinion this story had the perfect build. It was realistic and heartwarming, at times heartbreaking. Yes, I did tear up in a few spots.
Ms. Savage really knows how to create a story that sucks you in and has you feeling all those emotions right along with the characters. This is a thrill ride you don’t want to get off!! I absolutely loved it!

Defining moments –
Some can leave people broken and heartless.
Some can force people to live a façade, hiding the pain beneath the surface.
Some can lead people down a path where there’s no turning back because the consequences are permanent.
What people decide to do with those instances varies based on the situation, but what must be learned through the struggles is that those moments can only define people if they allow them to, even when someone else’s actions shape them in drastic ways.
Liam “Hetch” Hetcherson’s defining moment is one that he still struggles with – one that invades his daily life and one that scarred him in irreparable ways. As a police negotiator, Hecth’s job is intense and places him in difficult situations that force him to constantly have his personal demons thrust into his face, but those issues are dealt with, with booze and women, allowing them to fester and eventually explode in unexpected ways.
Liberty Jenson’s life has been formed by a series of events and people who have forced her to make both safe and risky decisions, but none have altered her life more significantly than speaking her mind to the tenant of Apt. 9 – a man whose extracurricular activities have her strongly rethinking her no men/no sex sabbatical.
Hetch and Liberty’s relationship begins in unexpected ways, which are both horrifying and comical and speak to their personalities and the effect they have on one another. I appreciate how River Savage handled the delicate issues involved in the storyline and the course of actions she puts her characters through in order to actually deal with the events that shaped them.
Hetch is a great read and a suspenseful introduction to River Savage’s new series – Men of S.W.A.T. It also demonstrates River Savage’s growth as a writer while keeping the facets of her stories that readers have grown to love. I know anytime I head into a River Savage text that I'm going to be thrust into a gripping and steamy plot line that places both the hero and heroine in dire situations, and with an officer of the law and the head of a group home for boys as the main characters, there are a menagerie of complications and issues to tackle. On top of their work concerns, there are also personal demons to tackle as well, which are bound to affect every aspect of their lives.
