I downloaded this book just to have something quick to read while sitting in the doctors office and quickly fell into this story. The interactions were hilarious and sure I wished that there were more moments of Talon and Zara alone, but overall it was a good read especially for a free book. Can't wait I read the others.

This book had an interesting premise but the dialogue was so juvenile. It seemed to move so fast in the beginning between Zara and Talon...there wasn't really any backstory leading up to their first 'encounter'. It just wasn't for me but I stuck it out until the end because like I said the storyline had been interesting.

Talon is so swoon worthy. This book had me cracking up! In love it when a book can make me laugh out loud and tear up over the series stuff. All the characters are pretty awesome. The story line is a good one...wife leaves her abusive husband, runs far away, ends up moving next to a biker compound.

This book was an unexpected delight. It started heavy with Zara and David's issue. But I was pleasantly surprised by the humor. All the characters are hilarious and I can't wait to find out what happens next

First time reading Lila Rose and what a great writer! Funny, sexy, suspenseful, I had to read it twice! I love all the characters so much, the funny woman next door, the sexy biker dude, the sassy best friend and the vicious ex husband! Loved it, looking forward to reading more from Lila Rose! Thank you!!

I absolutely loved this story. Talon is such a freaking alpha, and it's so sexy!! "Kitten" is so sweet and awesome. The 2 of them together are amazing. This will definitely be reread many times!!

Wow one roller coaster ride after another in this book. It has you on your toes the whole time!!! Talen and Zara are hotter than hot together! I'm glad Zara finally found a good man to take care of her. Especially Maya and Cody having a family now. I loved all these characters Vi, Deanna, Griz, Mattie and Julian!! I can't wait to read more!!!

Badly written with a strong Aussie slang. The transitions are choppy and sometimes difficult to follow. While the plot was good the writing didn't allow for any kind of flow and it made reading it tedious.

Though this story was sadly lacking in the sex department I must say I enjoyed it. It was a ill too sweet but action packed and at times funny. While not my usual taste I'll certainly be reading m from this author

This was a fun story with fun characters. The dialog was sometimes too juvenile, but the plot was interesting enough to get past it. I will have to read the next book to see what happens with Deanna and Griz.

Ok, this was my first read by this author. Found her through a FB event with my beloved Lainey Reese.

Read this book in 2 days and am moving right into the next one. Zara and Talon were hotter than hot. She's running from an abusive ex..he's running from his feelings for her, but once he decides he's waited long enough, everything comes crashing down at one. Add her brother and his boyfriend..her trash talking cursing bestie, and slew of bikers and crazy family and you have a recipe for comedy and excitement.

Love this writer! She has an amazing ability to write. You are pulled into the story for the beginning with a strong female and a strong alpha male. Their is humor, love and romance. I like to reread her books often. I like a book that makes me laugh one second them cry the next.

Omg! Loved Zara and Talon! Loved the relationship between Deanna and Zara! Every girl should have a snarky best friend who'd do anything for her!! Talon and Zara's chemistry is off the charts. Looking forward to reading the next book in the series!

A book site for reviews, well known community, had this in the semi-finalist for new author of the year. So, I headed over to AZ and downloaded it. Load is right. While I commend authors who have the imagination and creativity to flesh out a 250-300 page story, this was not it.

Silly and inane. If you took out all the F-words the book would be cut by a 1/4. Subtract the rest of the innecessary language, silly niclnames and the number of times someone "stood to their feet" or "walked across a room, subtract another 1/4. Get rid of all the "my man" "my woman" "claiming my woman/man" "give me your mouth" and that's another 1/4 down the drain. Now you are left with the 1/4 of the book that -tries- to tell a story.

I don't thing I'm giving anything away to say the Hero is the leader of a motorcycle gang. A gang that never rides their motorcycles! The few times people actually do go somewhere, they all ride in cars!

The timeframe seems to be less than a week, but there are undying pledges of love and the little girl is excited to tell about her new "daddy" after he slept over one night. The more I write, the more I feel like subtracting a star, but I have a hard time leaving one star reviews.

I had a good time telling my SO about how silly and outlandish this book is, so I guess there was some benefit to finishing it. I'll be leary of recommendations from that other site in the future.

Would I recommend the book? No. Would I read further in the series? No!

Every book has its good moments and sometimes a few moments of confusion or unnecessary drama. Even though I felt like I missed a few things in the beginning of Holding Out, I was still enjoying the read... at least for the most part. Zara's reaction to the news of her parents was a bit different, but I was able to shrug it off with the thought "everyone handles things differently". Talon and his claiming of Z was a bit off to me and that goes back to my earlier comment about feeling as though I missed an entire chapter or something. But I have to say, I was still fairly engrossed until about 72% when a totally needless scene takes place... I get shock value but sometimes it can be overkill and that little scene was way overkill, making it seem like Lila Rose was just throwing in extra drama for the sake of it... the reasoning for it made no sense, everything Z had already been through that night and then what followed made it even worse, but the reaction from Z and then the quick dismissal of it... yeah it kind of killed the read. I would have rated this a solid 4 had that scene not taken place. Unfortunately, that scene was kind of the icing on top of the cake for me. So because some scenes didn't make sense, I felt as though some important information was missing, and that dreadful scene after Z is taken to the compound.... I have to rate Holding Out at 2.5 stars.
As a reader with years of beta and editing experience I have to say... that while I can see some massive potential with this author, there is still a lot of necessary fine tuning that needs to be done with this story in order for it to be complete.

I enjoyed the story. I thought the characters were intense. I really like Deanna she was so bada$$ it was funny. The whole thing was very intense with the violence and how it was portrayed was good. I liked how everything was written.

I was very pleasantly surprised with this book. I love Talon's alpha tendencies! His protectiveness over Zara and anyone he loves is very intense and sexy. I'm excited to read the next books to learn more about the other characters.

The first couple of chapters are pretty long and slightly annoying but towards the middle it's really good some action and a twist I didn't even notice until it was right in front of me! It's a good read people
