I enjoyed the whole book, inter racial couple with a mob twisted was a great read. I like strong woman who fight for what they want. I like to see people change there life and make it how they want...Its just awesome. The dirty side of Houston as a touch of flavors since I am from here.

The heroine Benny was awesome. She had a sweetness mixed w/ confidence & vulnerability. Dimitri was so sexy & all alpha male. Loved the plot especially b/c hot sex scenes were included. I have read & enjoyed all 3 books in the series. So far this is my favorite.

The book Is really good... but its very very frustrating. The book when uploaded on my kindle the pages are just so messed up! some of the pages are missing and then the pages that are there are repeated on the next page. I had to stop reading the book because I was getting so dang frustrated!!

Benny (Benita) runs the family's bakery, since losing her family the debts have mounted. Benny is struggling to make ends meet. Her brother Johnny is no help, he has joined a street gang, and Benny worries constantly that he will end up in prison. Her only help is Dimitri her sexy Russian tenant who lives above the bakery.
On top of everything else a crooked property developer is wanting to buy the bakery. He's already bought out the rest of the block, but Benny is refusing to sell. When Johnny steals money from the bakery's takings Benny breaks down. But Dimitri is there to comfort her. But things soon get hot. Benny has had the hots for Dimitri forever, but knowing the women that he usually has on his arm she can't believe that he might be interested in her. Dimitri owns his own security company, and has only stayed living above the bakery to be near Benny.
Second in the Russian Protector series is a hot read. It's more erotic than Ivan's story. As Dimitri has a dominant streak. He's been itching to get Benny tied up for ages and that's exactly what he does. He ties Benny to him in more ways than one.
With likeable characters and a good plot, this is a longer story, than the first. Thoroughly enjoyable, I eagerly await the next book.

Hot. Hot with a capital H. Dimitri is a protective, tattoed, tall, Russian speaking hunk.
She is a Latina bakery owner with a crush. When these two get together, they can set the book's pages on fire. I'd never read a book with a sex swing in it before.
Her gangbanger brother was an annoyance. But he didn't show up that often and most of the focus of the story was on Dimitri and Benita's romance. And on dealing with the small businesses that each of them owned.
It was nice to read about a hero and heroine who are not rich and have to worry about money. Everyday problems that made their relationship stronger. They talked about things going on in their lives and got advice from each other.
This book is very heavy and graphic on the intimate scenes so if that bothers you, this is not the book for you. I liked it, and thought it was much better than book 1, Ivan. (Ivan didn't have as much romance and growth in the relationship, in my opinion) I look forward to book 3, Yuri.

I think Ms. Rivera has issues with providing any kind of back story on the males in her books. I liked Ivan and kind of let it go that we didn't get to know much about Ivan's back story because it was the first book. But yet again with Dimitri, the only thing we find out about his back story is he was basically special forces.
Benny is an okay character, but she was very wishy washy. There were times she was submissive and didn't know what she wanted to do with herself, then there were spurts where she decided to put on her big girl panties and stand up for herself. She has no idea what she's doing with her business and takes offense when Dimitri tries to give her advice.
This was an okay book, definitely longer than Ivan. But with that being said, it seemed the bulk of the book was about sex. The scenes seemed to drag for up to 10 pages and by the 2nd time I just started skimming these pages.

After recently listening to Kelly's Corner and loving it I needed to go back and read / listen to the original series. DIMITRI is book two in the Her Russian Protector series. This is the type of series that (so far) you can read each book as a standalone. There are just a few reoccurring characters in each book.
This book was 99¢ on the store and I was able to buy the Audible for an additional $1.99. I love that!
I will be stick by my assessment of Pinky Powell from my review of Ivan. She tends to be a bit monotone at times and sometimes seems too rushed. Also when she has a group of females speaking, it's hard to determine one from the other just by her voice changes. Although DIMITRI was better than Ivan with this. Pinky doesn't seem to have this issue with men characters as much as women.
Despite my issues with the narration, I still LOVED this book! I loved the story between Dimitri and Benny. Oh my, the sex scenes, so hot!!! I book marked and will listen again and again.
DIMITRI is one of those books I will be definitely reading or listening to again and soon!!! I will be going on to book three next, YURI. I can't wait!!!...Sara

“We were meant for one another. It’s no coincidence that life brought me here, to Houston, to that apartment, to you. That was fate. You were meant for me, Benita. It was always supposed to be you.”
Oh my...Ivan was okay but Dmitri...well, I'll just say, I'm a fan. I love a man that is dangerous, know's exactly how he feels, has a dominanting yet sweet nature and is a DIRTY TALKER! I liked Dimitri a lot more than I liked Ivan and the steam level was much hotter.
“I can’t wait to get you home. I’m going to strip you naked and tie you up.”
I gulped and tried to squeeze my thighs together to ease the pulsing heat between them but somehow Dimitri’s hand had snaked under the back of my skirt. His hand prevented it. Those long, skilled fingers brushed the skimpy lace of my panties. I nearly came right there.
“Your _______ is so _______ hot already.”
“Dimitri, please,” I begged and silently prayed the dimmed lights wouldn’t brighten. If we stepped out of the shadows, anyone would be able to see where he’d hidden his hand.
“Please what, Benny? Please take you home and strip you? Please tie you up? Please ____ your tight, wet ____ until you come so hard you pass out?”
“Yes. All of it. Please,” I pleaded breathless. Turning my face , I touched my lips to his. “Take me home, Dimitri.”
Maybe it's because I've been spending a lot of time reading about serial killers lately but I think I really needed some good ole fasion dirty talk. Normally I need to lay off the smut. Is it possible my smut level was running low and I didn't even know it?? Either way, I've definitely been sucked into the guilty pleasure of Her Russion Protector series. The books aren't great literature and there's nothing original about them but still hit a sweet spot for me and that's why I'm giving this four guilty pleasure stars! I'm actually skipping over book three (which is crazy for me since I normally don't skip around!) and diving into book four. Nikolai seems like the baddest of the bad-_____...I can't wait any longer!

After reading about all the drama Johnny brings into his sister's life; I have to say I've never felt better about being an only child. When a strong independent woman, with slightly submissive tendencies, is threatened who will rescue her? How about the sexy-Russian with a dominant streak that just happen to live upstairs? Benny is an immensely well-written character; the author gave her many layers allowing her great range without distorting her character. The author constructed Dimitri to complement her perfectly. Throughout the book, he is confident and is very capable of protecting those he cares about using the skills the army taught him. He is not violent, per se, but he is willing to fight aggressively, physically if need be, for what he desires and has claimed - in this case Benny.
While I enjoyed Ivan's story; Dimitri's made me put Her Russian Protector series on my auto-buy and instant-read lists. Roxie Rivera's writing style is startling. Her ability to capture the reader's attention and pull them into the story is unprecedented. This is a suspense-filled romance with tons of subplots ,but the author did a miraculous job of maintaining consist storylines. I HIGHLY RECOMMENDED this for lovers of both suspense and contemporary romances.
There are still two additional Russian Protectors {YURI and Nikolai} for my reading pleasure.
Disclosure: This ebook was provided to me free of charge for the sole purpose of an honest review. All thoughts, comments, and ratings are my own.

I absolutely loved this story, even better than the first one. I liked Ivan a lot, but the first book was just such a shorter story that you didn’t get to know Ivan and Erin as well as you did Dimitri and Benny in this book. Dimitri just drove me wild, I loved him so much.
I liked that there was such history and dynamics to each character which you seem to find less and less now days, especially from indie authors, or at least the ones that are more interested in pushing their books out there ASAP than writing a truly compelling story.
Can’t wait to check out the rest of the sexy Russians in this series!!!

I LOVE this series! Dimitri and Benny are the perfect pair. Dimitri is definitely the alpha male - very protective and loving. Benny is the sweet, innocent bakery owner who is struggling to make ends meet. Throw in a troublesome brother, persistent real estate broker and Dimitri's Russian "brothers" and you have quite the story! After much trouble with gangs of various sorts, Dimitri and Benny finally find their HEA.
Dimitri is the second installment of the "Her Russian Protector" series and can be read as a stand alone. But you might want to go back and read Ivan first. Talk about hot alpha Russians! Next up in the series is Yuri - can't wait!

Continuing Saga of the Russian men who also happen to be friends. In this book Dimitri a self made security specialist has been involve with his landlord Benny for five years but never got around to tell her. One fateful night after she finds out her brother Johnny(whose in a gang) stole from their bakery Dimitri invites her to his home for dinner and so starts this romance. There is danger intrigue and action much more meatier than the Ivan book. Theres an interlapping of the previous book with this. Lots of serious lovemaking if that's not your thing skip. As an adult woman there are times I was blushing. Enjoyable read.

I'm loving this series, I love all the characters although I'm eagerly waiting for Nikolai's book, anyway back to this one Benny is struggling to keep the family bakery going, her brother Johnny is no help at all and has got himself tangled up with a local gang, Dimitri is renting the apartment above the bakery, more due to his attraction to Benny than anything else since he has the money to live where he likes. On top of Benny and Dimitri we keep in touch with Ivan and Erin from the first book as well as Nikolai, Yuri, Vivi and Lena. A great read it's a little hotter than the first book but then it is longer.

Benny and Dimitri have been crushing on each other, not realizing they could be together since it is mutual. The book doesn't waste time on the unrequited love angle. Dimitri is a patient man. That patience pays off with Benny. She has so much coming at her that it takes someone with a gentle hand to coax her out of her shell. Benny is a hard worker. She isn't going to let anyone walk in and step on what she has built. I liked that she didn't play games or allow anyone to steamroll her.

This book is amazing and it's really well written. I couldn't put this book down, the characters were very well developed. Johnny wants Benny to sell the bakery to the real estate agent. She wont sell because it's part of the family history and the towns. Benny and Johnny were fighting and Dimitri stepped in to stop it. Benny then finds out the Johnny stole 300 dollars from the bakery. I can't wait to read the third book.

Really good read and hot in just the right places. Benny and Dimitri knew each other for years but neither one of them took the first step in letting their interest in one another show. When her brother started acting a plum mess and getting in way over his head Dimitri stepped up to the plate. I enjoyed this one but now I'm looking forward to seeing what is really going on with Nikolai, even the name is sexy.

In book two, Ms. Rivera managed to imbue her writing with a finesse that had been lacking in book one. Her characterization tang truer, her dialogue, though still not clever had more of a natural quality and her plot pace was flawless.
Having said all that, I do see that she's found a pattern that works and I hope she doesn't just rely on that to carry her next two stories. I guess we'll see.
Glad I decided to read the rest of her books.

I downloaded Her Russian Protector Series books 1-3 bundle from the store. I enjoyed all three books. Good story lines, well developed characters. I have read other Roxie Rivera and really like her writing style and books. I will continue to read more from her.
Please RateDIMITRI (Her Russian Protector #2)
