Amazing book! Highly recommended for anyone that LOVES Winnie The Pooh. Bought for my 3 year old son but I enjoy reading it as well. It's the true story behind Winnie The Pooh & it's such a cool telling.

loved this book, just ordered one for my grand daughters birthday present. Found a small stuffed bear that looked like the bear in th book. going to put all in one gift box with a note. "Open at bedtime on your birthday" I think it will make a fun surprise and bed time story.

Bought this on a recommendation from my son's teacher. Read it and CRIED. It is a beautiful story with a twist at the end. Much more than the usual children's book... Would be a wonderful gift for any child.

My children were wildly in love with Winnie the Pooh when they were younger. This tells the story that none of us knew. Well worth adding to your collection of children's books, especially if your children (or grandchildren) love to read about him and the Hundred Acre Wood.

I love Sophie Blackall and am so thrilled for her that she won the Caldecott this year! WELL DESERVED! I bought this book for the illustrations, but was charmed by the story of the little bear. It would be cute enough to learn about an orphaned bear adopted by the army, but then to find out that bear went on to inspire Winnie the Pooh - too crazy! Charming book.

true story of the beginning of a legend. Whinnie the Pooh, a most unusual bear and very loved. I did not know this story when my children were little. But my grandchildren will know of Whinnie's adventures.
