Well done! A nice book of short stories of encouragement, by realizing that you're not the only one who sometimes misses the goodness in life. This book reminds me to slow down and enjoy life for what it is...GOOD!

I absolutely loved this book!! That says a lot for someone who can't seem to finish a book to save her life! Shauna is such a gifted and talented writer. I was deeply encouraged by this book seeing many of my own thoughts, feelings and experiences similar to hers. I couldn't put it down.

This book is awesome. I could see myself in these pages. Shauna has a way of getting your attention. I would recommend this book to everyone. I was so impressed with her Bread & Wine Book, I had to get Cold Tangerines and Bittersweet. Can't wait to read Bittersweet.
Alternate Side: A Novel :: A Vegas Accidental Marriage Romance (Baby Fever Book 2) :: Tangerine by Edward Bloor (2007-02-01) :: Longboat Blues (Matt Royal Mysteries Book 1) :: Book 1) (Redemption Thriller Series 7) - IN Defiance (An Ivy Nash Thriller

I was really excited about this book. I really like personal inspiring stories. But nothing about this book resonated with me. I felt like each story could have been shortened to about 2 paragraphs. All the fluff kept me going around and around lost on what point she was getting at.
Shauna compares seeing pennies everywhere once you start looking to seeing God's faithfulness once you start looking. I appreciate the illustration, but I did not care to know what she was thinking about doing with all of the pennies she had been collecting.
What I was hoping for were stories that after reading would cause me stop and contemplate/appreciate the ordinary things in my life that I so often overlook. This book did not deliver. But maybe I was expecting the wrong thing?

I so enjoyed Shauna's easy going style, her transparency. Her reminder that we've all been there & everything's going to be alright, that God is going to take care of us. Wonderful, fun, easy read. Much enjoyed.

Shauna wrote about the times and transitions that many women face in their twenties and thirties. Her story is very similar to my story and I appreciate the fresh insights and reminders of lessons learned, always the hard way.

Shauna really reminds us of our human tendencies to compare and be unhappy with our lives, and then, with humor and real stories, shows us how to cherish the celebrations of life, from the inner depths of our hearts to the miracles around us.

Cold Tangerines was just what I needed. Shauna reminded me to slow down, enjoy the people in my life, stand in awe of God, create delicious food in my kitchen and most of all she taught me how to celebrate. This book is beyond wonderful. I only let myself read a chapter or two at a time because I didn't want it to end. Beautiful. Touching. Invigorating.

After reading Shauna's honest stories, I feel inspired to see the beauty in my day that I would normally zip past in my busyness. I want everyone around me to read this book. I think it's an important cry to look at our everyday lives and see God at work. She writes beautifully. I just hope that Shauna keeps writing.

This is a collection of very thoughtful, honest essays written by Shauna about the wonder in life we often overlook. The author is no naive pollyanna - she looks at life honestly - but also with a desire to find and celebrate the joy in the midst of the ordinary and mundane and sometimes really hard stuff of life. Very encouraging read!!!!

Love this book! Have gotten together with groups of women to discuss it and many have found it equally inspirational. A quick read with thoughts that are easy to relate to. Would recommend it highly!

A lovely, thoughtful collection that will leave you smiling through tears. Niequist understands the journey, moments of wonder and the times of despair. She calls the reader back, every time, to the level ground of the love of God. Excellent work.
