Since I have discovered H. Terrell Griffin, I have ordered every one of these books. Each one is as good or better than the others I have read in this series. You cannot go wrong if you like plot twists and "whodunits".

Perhaps not the very Best detective book I've ever read but right up there toward the top. What draws me to the Matt Royal mysteries
is the small, close-knit community atmosphere. Matt outdid himself in this book with his detective work, especially since the reader
wasn't privy to all he was doing to research the case until the very end. The actual trial was a disappointment to me in that Matt wasn't
really challenged on anything. The prosecuting lawyer that's supposedly recognized for her superb preparedness and execution of her case
seemed to fall on her face several times. This seemed a little unbelievable to me. Also the judge ruled in Matt's favor time after time when
objections were made. But all-in-all a good book that kept my attention from beginning to end.

Being from Southwest Florida, I liked the setting and found many of the sites very familiar. The story is much like a Randy Wayne White novel, but not quite as well written. I will buy more of Mr. Griffin's work.

Good first book. I would have liked a little more detail. I am a reader that doesn't find that tedious. H. Terrell Griffin is a good writer and I will read the entire series. I did like the lead character very much.

Enjoy reading the book and moved along without lagging or jumped around without a reason. Description of areas and activities presented as being real and not figments of imagination that could never happen.
