What a great concept and title.... but the recipes are impractical and call for uncommon ingredients. Rose petals? Really? I am very disappointed in this book for which I had high hopes as a baby shower gift for my neice. What a shame. Good concept... fumbled!

Just watched a video showing the Apricot Gingerini --- interesting and fun concept, but a glaring error:
Contrary to what the mixologist stated, Grapes / Grape juice does NOT have a significant amount of folic acid (folate) --- that nutrient is found in green leafy veggies (spinach, dark lettuces, broccoli), brussel sprouts, asparagus, cooked dried beans / lentils, fortified grain products (like cereal and breads), and much smaller amounts in oranges and orange juice.
https://ods.od.nih.gov/factsheets/Folate-HealthProfessional/#h3
Also, be aware of the high sugar content of these drinks. With a base of white grape juice, and adding apricot juice and simple syrup, the carb levels are VERY high. Treat these like dessert, NOT "health drinks"!

Preggatinis: Mixology for the Mom-to-Be is a delightful, fun, colorful book full of bright and cheerful photos of sexy non-alcoholic cocktails (with pre-preg and daddy recipes as well). As a newly pregnant woman, I found this book to be a refreshing collection of uplifting passages and yes-you-can easy and healthy recipes! With all the heavy reading to do about pregnancy and what you can't ingest, how wonderful to have a collection of delicious green-light cocktails! They are all the author's original creations, with fun names like Folic Fizz and Gingerly Gestating. Ms. Bovis-Nelsen has brought her snappy chic LiquidMuse.com writing style to her first book, and I highly recommend it for yourself, as a baby shower gift, or for anyone who would like to drink healthy beautiful drinks without guilt.

Normally I wouldn't bother reviewing a non-alcoholic drinks book (I don't want to encourage their spread) but I am making an exception in this case because it was written with pregnancy in mind rather than some Fascist/Prohibitionist agenda. Natalie does a very creative job creating excellent cocktails to lessen the suffering of pregnant women who are craving real cocktails.
The book features 75 recipes with ingredients, directions, etc. all of which are quite good and inventive. They not only taste good but are pleasing to the eye. One of the best books on non-alcoholic cocktails out there.
As a bonus, there is a fair amount of pregnancy affirmations in there for people who like that kind of thing, which also makes it a great gift for a baby shower- just jot a couple of the recipes down beforehand so you can hand the mother to be one (or several) of these cocktails during the shower- she'll probably need them by then!

Love the colorful pages and the great photos. Not only did I get the details on how to make the drinks but also what it should look like (and the glass to use!) Fun writing, easy to follow and fresh ideas. I am going to make this an addition to my 'gifts to give' list...
The drinks were so good, I didn't even miss the alcohol!
a great book for healthier drinkers.. and mom's (&dad's) to be.

I love this book!! As a professional bartender I found the drinks to be unique and innovative. As a dad-to-be, this is a great way to do something special for your lady when little things mean a lot! Best of all the drinks are DELICIOUS!

Thought the book was great. Would never have ordered it given the title. Saw an article in the local paper about the book, and decided to check it out on the store. Excellent book for those looking for an alcohol alternative in fancy, festive drinks.
