I was hoping this would be more like the actually Dr. Seuss book, its not. Its probably about 6 or 7 lines and the last one is totally ridiculous, it doesn't even rhyme. I'd have been better off just buying to real book and reading it to my son. But the boardbooks are so nice because I can give it to him and not worry about him ripping pages out. I think the REAL Dr. Seuss books are a must have but not this thing or anything like it.

I was very disappointed in this book. I thought it was going to be the full Dr. Seuss story with the movable fish. That is not what it was at all. It was a much shorter version. I guess it would be perfect for babies because their attention span is so short but the story does not hold much content.
I do however love that the fish can be manipulated so it is a great tool to teach counting. I also love how colorful it is!

Just getting around to reviewing this book now - Had gotten it as a shower gift because it was one of my favorite stories to read to my kids (It doesn't seem to be the full story) but works - the baby is now 2 and still is carrying this book around :)
Wacky Wednesday (Beginner Books(R)) :: Hop on Pop (Big Bright & Early Board Book) :: The Sneetches and Other Stories :: Horton Hears a Who! :: Put Me in the Zoo (I can read it all by myself' Beginner Books)

Our one-year-old daughter loves this book. She likes the little fish on top and likes the brightly-colored fish throughout the book. However, my husband and I are disappointed by the lack of creativity ("red fish, blue fish" next page: "black fish, blue fish") and the interrupted rhyming pattern toward the middle. Also, like others have said, the ending is very abrupt, and you're left wondering where the rest of the story is.

This book has everything you could want in one book for your toddler. It is colorful, whimisical and teaches counting. There are only a few words on each page, so it's great for younger readers and for those who need a short book for short attention spans.

This book is great for small children. My children love all the Dr. Seuss books. It is a fun way to learn colors and numbers in a timeless fashion. These books have been around for a long time and i love seeing my children read something that I have read myself. I have a hard time getting my son to branch out and read or watch anything that doesn't have familar characters to him in it, so this book really helped since he was familiar with the the Dr. Seuss characters and writing style. It is the type of books my kids want to read over and over. A great buy!!

Yes, it is a shorter version of the original, but its simple enough to keep her attention and she loves the rhyme of the text. She smiles every night when I pick up the book to read it to her. She just adores it!
