the pictures are repetitious, the colors are exactly the same and very muted. especially with the smaller board book the pictures are very small on the pages as they do not print the full pictures on one whole page for the board book. for my 1 year old, it just doesn't get her attention, for the story is a little long and the pictures do not spark any excitement or interest in her yet. i'm sure when she's older and is more into sitting and listening she may like it more, but this is just my words of advice for those looking to get it for their baby around her age.

Based on the reviews I expected more. And because we always do the 'I love you thiiiiis much' that we'd love this book, but I was annoyed and so was my son. Too much nut brown hare. My son even asked why do they have to say little/big nutbrown hare so much, why can't they just say baby rabbit or mommy/daddy rabbit?', and i agree it did distract from the story. It was cute because it will mimic what alot of us patents do (I love you this big, this high etc) and the pictures helped keep him somewhat interested, but he already said 'maybe sissy will like it better' so we will keep it for his newborn sister and hope in a few yrs she will like it but as for my son he was not into it.

I like it, the story is great, the illustration is good. One thing I wish the authors had done better - change the characters names from Little Nutbrown Hare and Big Nutbrown Hare to baby hare and papa (or mama) hare. Because try saying "Little Nutbrown Hare and Big Nutbrown Hare" over and over 4 times to a page and you'll understand that this can be quite the tongue twister and children get confused which one because all they hear "Nutbrown hare" and miss the big and little part.

This was yet another favorite bedtime book ~ thirteen years ago. I loved how it reinforced the "I love you" message from the daddy bunny's perspective in a fun, baby/toddler-friendly way. The dad perspective was an especially nice "bridge" for my husband, in that it helped him transition from the fast-paced work world during the day to the kinder and gentler baby world at tuck-in time :)
I often purchase this book as a gift for a new parent. This particular one arrived quickly and in excellent condition.

The puppet that came with this book is adorable! The book is cute, too. I just wish the puppet could be removed from the book and used separately. Having it attached permanently to the book is somewhat cumbersome when you're reading it to a youngster, and the head of the puppet blocks my view of the words if I'm holding it up, facing the child or children I'm reading to.

This is a sweet book about love between two friends or perhaps a parent an child. The ambiguity of the relationship is precisely the reason I love it. As a foster parent it can be hard to find books about love or relationships that don't say mommy or daddy. This is a perfect story to illustrate the love between two creatures that aren't necessarily parent and child. It's sweet and simple so it's perfect for any situation.

Adorable story and illustrations. A must have for any nursery. But very young children will lose interest in it pretty fast because of the amount of text on each page and the fact that the pictures are pretty much the same on every page, and not brightly colored and bold. So not a BABY book. But still, who can resist the title alone??? Mom loves it even if baby doesn't yet.
