I love post-apocalyptic fiction, although I tend to prefer those without zombies. In this book, however, the zombies take a back seat (preferably behind a cage) to the characters. It is very well written - unlike so many books I've read lately the grammar, punctuation, spelling and other mechanics were solid. The characters are beautifully developed people with personalities that ring true, not changing as the story goes along just to get past a new plot point. It is difficult to discuss specifics without giving too much away - suffice it to say that for me it was a keep-reading-until-it's-finished-no-matter-how-late story. I immediately started on the second book, and I'm thrilled to see there will be a book 3.

Overall ok, but I do not recommend reading it and I will not pursue the rest of the series. The focus on relationships is a little too much and all the "prepping" just seems too convenient and unrealistic. Most of the plot is predictable zombie cliches and the book doesn't really contribute anything new to the genre. I was able maintain interest long enough to finish the book, but I was only left disappointed in the end.

After years of avoiding zombie stories this book finally turned me. A well written and enjoyable story with just the right balance of human interest and zombie killing to give the reader some hope for a future - even a post apocalyptic one. I may have just become a closet zombie apocalypse prepper. I've convinced my wife that the month's worth of mountain house freeze dried food I just ordered was in case of a big earthquake here in Oregon. I'm not quite sure how to explain the two 18" machetes that are on their way from the store though. Thanks for the great read Sarah and the reminder to be prepared for earthquakes, FEMA and zombies. I'm not sure of the three which scares me most!

I got this book for free during a promotional period and thought i'd give it a shot not expecting much but i was very pleasantly surprised. I was instantly hooked. The author makes her characters so human and real that you get invested in their well being. She makes you sad happy scared loved and everything in between. Although I am a big The Walking Dead fan i have to admit I wasn't too excited about this being a "zombie" book feeling that it was either going to be cheesy or just not very scary. I was DEAD WRONG. I could imagine everything perfectly and was better than a show since you knew exactly how everyone felt. It was just as nerve wrecking if not more so. I seriously LOVED this book.

So I absolutely love this author! She reminds me so much of Rhannon Frater with the As the World Dies series which I absolutely loved. The character development, originality and details along with group dynamics and background stories were great! I can't wait to read more from this author! One slight thing about this book as with the As the World Dies series is the kinda girly love story running throughout it...i get the romance and it's nice having in there but sometimes gets a little bit too girly but having said that I'm still giving 5 stars. BTW I'm a hard core zombie book reader since the genre began so I'm usually a skeptic on new authors but love this one. Hope this helps my fellow zombie book fans out there!

This is a well-written story with well-developed characters and a good plot. With that said the pacing is a little on the slow side. There are some dramatic scenes but it takes awhile to get there. As for the ending it was nice but a little too nice for my liking given this genre.

Being in college, all the books I read are required so this was my first leisure book in a while and I LOVED it! It was so engrossing but at the same time I would try to refrain from reading too often so it wouldn't end. I have also read many apocalyptic-style books and this one was by far the best. I cant wait to read the rest!

I really enjoyed this book. If you're looking for something good to read, this is the book for you. Fleming is a really talented writer, and I'm thrilled that I found her. Somehow she is able to mix in humor with zombies, but not in a way that detracts from the story. The storyline is captivating and the characters are developed really well. I've read a number of post-apocalyptic books, and I'd have to say this is my favorite. i also read a lot of books in general, and I think I've found a new favorite author. I will, without a doubt, be reading more of her work.

Until the End of the World by Sarah Lyons Fleming. I got this book in a collection (10 books for $0.99). The story is so well written, and the characters so well developed, that I didn't finish the anthology before jumping to the next book in the series (So Long Lollipops). I just finished And After, and can't wait to start All the Stars in the Sky. Well done, Ms Fleming!

This book kept my attention from the first page until the last - and, I immediately ordered the next two in the series... am almost finished with the second book and TRYING to slow down so I don't finish too quickly. The story line was different than other books like this, it actually made sense. The characters were well drawn and I was sorry to see them "leave the story". I am so very pleased to have 'discovered' this author - thank you so much Ms. Fleming and I will be reading your other series as well. Excellent work!

The characters are well rounded and very funny, with plenty of action. ZA books are my favorite genre and this series, as well as the adjacent city series are now among my very favorite out there. Great writing, great story telling. I'm only sad the series ended.

I've read literally hundreds of zombie stories and novels and with the exception of one other title, this is the best I've seen. Sarah's characters live and breathe like real human beings with real feelings. She doesn't pull any punches and NO ONE is truly safe which makes the reading that much more intense and enjoyable. I won't give anything away, but I've read all three of the books in the series and they just got better and better. Characters went through honest arcs (even some background characters who didn't have very many lines). I can safely say that anything Sarah writes from here on out I'll be reading...

I was drawn into this book completely and finished it quickly. It's more than a Zombie book though; it has a good cast of characters that you really come to know while reading, particularly Cassie, the main one. This book is about her life and loves, problems, etc.....and oh yeah, the Zombie Apocalypse as a backdrop to it all. I rrally enjoyed this and am starting the 2nd book immediately.

What is it about zompoc that just captures you? For me is the unknown. Which is pretty much everything. Not knowing if you're making the right choices, having to make the tough choices, and just hoping it's all in the "right" direction.
We all need a Cassie Forrest in our lives and a Nelly, the whole gang really but to have someone at your back that you can trust wholeheartedly well that's special and in a post apocalyptic world it's almost as important as your gun or cleaver.

I really enjoyed this one. Whereas most prepper and zombie epics seem to descend into slaughter and mayhem by about chapter 3, this is more about the experience, emotion and relationships. The heroine is believable and everyone makes mistakes. It's not a catalogue of survival gear and guns, nor is it a politico-religious diatribe. Most government agencies come out ok ( unusual in books of this type) but not the government. There are a few baddies but the majority of survivors are good people trying to survive. Maybe a bit too idealistic and an "easy" ending but I enjoyed it and it hooked me in.

Absolutely flove this book. I have listened to the audio book so many times I've lost count.
Follow Cassie and her friends as they leave New York City when the Zombie apocalypse breaks out. Do they make it to her parents' house in upstate New York? Read to find out. You won't be sorry.

I loved this book. Wonderful set of characters. I love that while reading it I could actually see it like it was a show. I don’t do that often. Recommended for people who like zombie apocalypse. Hope there’s another book in the series.

What a fun take on the zombie apocalypse! Fleming obviously researched this well and wrote a cohesive, engaging story line. The characters are well thought out, with a depth that makes them seem real. Unlike some zombie stories, this one leaves you with the feeling that there is always hope. There are very, very few grammatical errors, which is always refreshing!

I had put off reading this series for awhile. For some reason the synopsis didn't just grab me. However, since I began this story mere days ago, I haven't been able to put it down. It has everything that I, personally, love in a book. Survival, friendship, love, and of course, zombies. I love the characters and I find myself rooting for them like I can change what is happening or help them through it. As I got to the end, I felt my heart pounding in anticipation and the author did not disappoint. Love this story and am ready to read the next one.

An incredible story of love, friendship, unity, and survival. I read 'Mordacious' first, then went back to read 'Until the End of the World'. I absolutely loved the characters of both books. But I have to admit, this one will be among my favorites. It's the kind of book you can tell yourself at the end, 'Boy, I could read this again'! Not too many books like that. Sarah Lyons Fleming is such a gifted writer!

I really enjoyed this book. It was a page turner for me. I like that it is written in a female point of view, but has an array of characters that are all well developed. Normally a love story would have turned me off, and bored the snot out of me. And although this one does get a little draining at times, it really works. I would consider this book written more for the female reader in general. It was refreshing, original, appropriately lengthy, and well-paced.
I am looking forward to anything this writer comes out with. The style and editing were well done. Please write more books.

I love the apocalyptic genre and this didn’t disappoint. I recommend it, its a bit different than others I’ve read. The characters are well defined and very likable. The author did a very good job with the whole story.

I read Mordacious by the same author. Turns out that takes place in the same universe as this story (it's the main series I think while that one is like a spin-off?). I liked it. It wasn't as good as Mordacious (I highly recommend you read that one) and the characters weren't as likable in comparison, but I did enjoy it.

Ok, I just finished reading this, and I wanted to write a quick review because I loved the way it ended! I mean, the whole thing was good, don't get me wrong! Recommend to any fan of zombie books! Hope there is a sequel, because there are characters I want to keep watching...
I really couldn't put this down, even read it all day at work (thankfully business was slow!). I hate spoilers, so I won't give anything away! There was despair, hope, love, and lots of zombies! Thankyou to the author for a very entertaining read!

Only started to listen to this book on impulse as I was hiking one day... and then over a month had to get through all three. I found this story to be put together so well, with extremely realistic character development. I became very attached to the people in the story!

I am enjoying this TEOTWAWKI novel more than any I have ever read. Less detailed preppers info and more romance. It has more emotions than details. This story has plenty of horror and heartache but yet you get a sense of hope for the future as well. I will be buying the next book and really hope it is as good. Thank you Ms Fleming!

I am drawn to apocalypse stories-always my favorite sub genre. Adding in zombies and a realistic female protagonist, and you've got me hooked. I think I got this one as a freebie or a deal on an email list I subscribe to, and I admit it took me a little while to begin reading it, but once I did, I was hooked. The storyline is very well done, and for once, it's not a bunch of uber conservatives who are prepared for the world to end!
The characters are realistic. Petty squabbles happen, and there are consequences from them...which don't always have the best outcome. But it all fits within the story and it may not always turn out well, but it works and it went where it should have, even if I didn't want it to go there.
This one may have been a freebie, but I paid for all the others in the series!

I had a major "book hangover" and I Decided that I needed a different genre book because the 2 or 3 YA books I was trying to read after Bright Side and Gus (Kim Holden)were not cutting it.
I have found that I like post apocalyptic books...if they have a believable story line. The 'Until the end of the world' series by Sarah lyons Fleming got me out of my Gus rut. And it's also helped with my Walking Dead withdrawal! Lol. I am almost finished with the last book and I am getting that "I don't want it to be over" feeling. Which is, IMO, when you know that the Author has done a great job! :)
Oh, And the narrator for the Audiobooks is not annoying!!! So, I used all my audible credits on the 4 book series.

This was an emotional rollercoaster. I was crying, laughing, stressed out and fearful for the characters. There was never a dull moment and every time I had to put it down was a struggle. I just had to know what was going to happen next. Can't wait to read the next book!!

Another excellent post apocalypse story that is well written with characters you care about. The heroine is portrayed as a complex young woman with virtues and flaws as well as strengths and insecurities just trying to survive the end of the world and whatever comes next. The story is realistic and makes the reader look forward to the next chapter of this tale of survival.

Yes it is a strange combination of Zombie Apocalypse and Chick Lit - but for the reason I even watch Walking Dead is because of the soap opera quality of character development. This book makes you feel good through much of it--even the horrors of humanity cannot overcome the kindness and charity that remains. I was loathe for this book to end - it's one of those that books that could never be long enough for me.

I LOVED this book. Great job! Looking forward to reading book 2. Writing flows; characters are well-developed and believable; story moves along and keeps you reading through the last page; nice to have character redemption, especially in this genre; also nice to watch a couple young ladies develop into action heroes.

If you enjoy dystopian stories, you will probably enjoy this. A super virus that creates a "living dead" situation makes it imperative that a group of friends leave the city (NYC) and travel treacherous miles to safety. Adventure, twists and turns and even romance are in the mix!

This is a well-written, well-researched, and an amazing debut novel, with an interesting, funny, and sarcastic voice. The characters mesh well together, even in conflict situations, and seem like people I'd want on my side, even without zombies around. Sarah Lyons Fleming's take on zombies and prepper life-style are awesome. I am totally purchasing a carbon water filter (just in case). And the story! I cared so much at the end for all of the characters. So GOOD!

I throughly enjoyed this book. Not everything was happy sugary. Yes there is a hero, a slightly bent and definitely broken one who happens to be a female. A fantastic sidekick and two pain in the ass twits you love to be mad at. It flows well and keeps thing rolling so you don’t get bored. A definite good read.

I've completely fallen in love with this author and series. Zombies roam the world, the government falls, and the protagonist Cassie leaves the city with friends and her very recent ex-boyfriend.
Things get tense and there's a very surprising happy ending.
Well worth the read.

I liked this author’s writing style and the storyline was good enough but this is a zombie apocalypse and a reader would kind of expect a lot of action. This story leans too much on the romantic and poetic side. There’s action here and there and it was a joy to read but there’s too much down time and people basically playing house while the world ends.

Zombies + end of the world themes= meh (for me). But Sarah Fleming's imagination + zombies+end of world= one fantastic read! Story started out with attention-grabbing action & didn't stop till the last page.
Author has such a wonderful talent with character, relationships, and story development that I found it totally engrossing from the 1st paragraph.
I eagerly finished it in too short a time. Ms. Fleming is a very promising newly published author:-)
