I have just discovered this author and this is the second book I have read by Lisa Gardner and I really enjoyed it. Its the type of book that you just cant put down but don't also want to finish. I will definitely be purchasing more of her books. Excellent reading.

Fast paced mystery with lots of twists and turns. A bonus is the detailed background about the city of Providence and Rhode Islanders. I love this author, but this is definitely one of her best!! A must-read!

From the first paragraph this book, caught your attention. Great police work yet you had no idea what was happening until near the end of the book. I’ve read over ten books by Lisa and feel this was her best

Lisa Gardner is a prolific writer of good thrillers.
What I like about this one: it goes inside the mind of three very different women who have been raped. You find a lot of novels where women are raped, rarely an attempt to describe how they outlive the ordeal. Five stars for that.
It is situated in Rhode Island, five stars for that.
It describes well some police procedure and the little tensions between State and City cops, Five stars for that.
On the other end, the plot is not realistic at all and yet, it is easy to guess how everything will end. The dialogue between detectives is sometimes made, irritatingly, for us to get a point: on these occasions, it does not sound true.
I understand the need to write down a big and almost helpless pursuit, it is how thrillers are thrillers, but the way to get there lacks credibility. Plus there is nothing new: people who like thrillers have read this ending (the last 50 pages) plenty of times. One star for that.
Nevertheless, I am glad I read it: I like survivors.

Lisa Gardner is one of those quality wise inconsistent authors. You never know if you're going to be reading something approaching masterpiece levels or something you don't even want to finish. Some of her novels such as The Neighbor, and The Other Daughter are brilliant fast paced, enjoyable don't want to do anything else until you've reached the last page reads. The Survivors Club however starts off at a great pace, then just seems to get bogged down and you've got to push yourself through the pages to finish.
It's a shame because the plot of a group of victims getting together and deciding not be victims anymore, combined with the assassination of the supposed rapist on trial as he enters the courtroom is a good one. Was his hit and the bombing of his hit man organised by the Survivors Club? Yeah this should be a great read, unfortunately the characters both club members, media and police are pretty boring. The most interesting character was the hit man but Gardner killed him off early on. Maybe it would have been better if instead of getting killed, he didn't get his payment or something and then he had to work out who contracted him and why instead of the police to get the money or vengeance.
