Fantastic series! I was seriously invested by the end of book one, and a little frustrated. It seemed like the heroes we're never going to catch a break, but I couldn't look away.
I was a little disappointed in the interpersonal relationship between Ethan and Destra. It seemed a bit recycled (see: the New Frontiers trilogy). Still really good, and kept me interested.

A great trilogy. Building through each book with twists and turns. A look at what humanity could become and what it might have to do to survive. Author Jasper T. Scott builds a very believable universe for his story to take place in. I like that he includes a glossary that explains all the terms he uses. These are the kind of books that you can't put down so you can find out what will happen next. His characters are well fleshed out and we root for the good guys to succeed.

Good read, drags a bit, because everything seems to be resolving, then PLOT COMPLICATIONS. Really need to read 4-6vto get the full chararterization of many of the protagonists.and plot elements. Worth following up.

It was exasperating! Sometimes the plot enveloped me and had me turning pages like crazy, and then it would drop to a childish dialogue that destroyed the magic. What I am sure of is that the books kept improving. The first one deserves a one star, the second 2.5 stars and the third 3.5. Thankfully, the first two are quite short.

This was just enough to make me want to read the next one. If the improving trend continues, it will be a series to be followed loyally.

The story line is pretty good with some really interesting ideas. However, the story bogs down I too many subplots and veers off again and again into too much information about too many characters. I finally finished the book but it wasn't as enjoyable as I had hoped.

This trio of books is interesting with rich characters. Mr. Scott satisfactorily wrapped the story in a neat little bow. Oftentimes the "technical" jargon and descriptions that droned on were just too much and too confusing. All in all though, I would definitely recommend the Dark Space Trilogy to anyone who considers themselves SciFi afficianodos. I enjoyed reading them.

In days past a reviewer might call this a 'ripping good read'. It's space opera, aliens, alliances, and space battles so I wasn't expecting anything deep. However what surprised me was what great fun it was to read these books and see what was going to happen next. If there are more in the series I'll be buying them.

Excellent series that had many different plots and hardly any of them ended up as one would suspect. Credible adversaries and a very satisfying read. I am looking forwards to the next several books in this particular universe.

Having read the first two books, I was left chomping at the bits waiting for the third installment. Wow, what a great read. This book has enough twists, turns, battles, suspense and excitement that once you start reading it will be impossible to put the book down.

The characters in the book are grey, dark and gritty. Everyone is forced to make choices under extreme circumstances and the results of some of those choices are truly chilling. There are no clear good or bad characters. Everyone has something that will cause you to root for them and hate them at the same time. That is what makes "Dark Space" so great.

I have to admit that the story started out dragging a little. That changed as I got more involved with Ethan, his trials and tribulations, success and failure. I kept coming back to it over and over and was thrilled when he finally got what he wanted, just not what he thought it was. My thanks to Jasper Scott. My new favorite author.

Amazing differences between this story and the usual "war against the aliens" type. Also, many of the most unlikely and horrible things that can happen when war happens. Many new innovations in this story that are possible in the future if you don't discount the possibilities of science in the future. Strangely, this is also a love story of several different couples.

These books were awesome from start to finish never slowing down. I was awes at how each book led to the next. I want to read 3 more and see what other adventures are in store for all of these people and aliens in the future !!!

This series starts out a bit rough, but improves with each book. Great technical space opera! I am looking forward to seeing Mr. Scott improve and continue writing in this universe he has created - the possibilities are endless. I liked the pace of the story and am glad I got the trilogy, I think it read more like one book than three. Looking forward to reading book four!! Ruh-kah!

Enjoyed the constant action and cast of characters. I was completely involved with the plot by the second chapter and eager to see what happened next. Each book continues at the same frenetic pace and keeps me wanting more. Looking forward to the rest of the series. Great writing!

It has it all. Action, romance, adventure, unrelenting lovery. Unexpected twists and turns that hold your attention. The characters are very well developed. The action / battle scenes are easy to visualize. I am in love with Ethan. There areñt many men who would do what he did for the 2 women he loved.

The Dark Space trilogy is a good space opera. Plenty of action, plenty of plot twists and turns, plenty of surprises. I honestly think it should have been at least one book longer to more fully explore some of the plot lines. I truly enjoyed reading it and can heartily recommend it for fans of the space opera genre.

Well, ill add for posterity, the author asks for an honest review, in exchange for a free copy of his fourth book in the series. So, with that, here's what I think:

The books covered in this collection follow a plotline that would make a mission impossible movie feel ashamed for lack of enough twists. At least that's how it feels mid read with the sometimes shocking about face the writer pulls. However, as the plotlines narrow over the course of the books and the full leading cast is unveiled, unmasked and returned shinier than before you see the books for what they truly are, excellent entertainment.

More than just aliens and space battles, these three books explore the questions of what makes someone human and what extent will we act to maintain life. The characters are well-developed, some of the tech is interesting, and the dynamics of the heart in some challenging circumstances create a world that is engaging on many levels.

I couldn't put this trilogy down. Well written, it brings you into the story like you are actually there. It makes you think about the best and the worst of humanity and the earth's future. Well worth the read!

The first three books in the Dark Space series contains a well written and complex story of in the far future where an alien species has wiped out most of humanity. Entwined with this story is a hapless man who gets into trouble at several turns, falls in love and finds his brother that he thought had died many years ago. The plot is compelling such that I had a hard time putting them, even at bedroom.

Ethan, the focus of the story, is a flawed enough to be real, hero who, rather than winning the day through his own unbelievable feats, manages to surround himself with other capable though imperfect allies to solve a string of misfortune that besets him and humanity. Complex enough to challenge the intellect without getting bogged down in small things. The build to the climactic ending is a bit long, but fun, followed by an ending that succintly ties up the loose ends. Well done.

Scott has created a bevy of very real, very believable characters while dropping them into a plot that is all but believable. And yet, that very meshing leaves the reader begging to know more, to continue the adventure, to learn the truth. Scott know his trade well.

Just like almost every book during the first few pages as the characters are established the book is a little slow. However, when heart of the story kicks in I could not put the book down. Great story and a lot of action. A must read for Si-Fi fans

These books were amazing and very descriptive! Scott draws you in until you forget the time and realize you've been reading for hours! I loved the characters and couldn't predict where the author was taking the reader.

I really enjoyed the books. They were well written and were hard to put down. The books flowed from one to another without major breaks in the story. The plot had a couple of different twist to it but that just made for a good read.

being a fan of science fiction, I bought this book from Book Bub, and I am thoroughly happy that I did this. It's a terrific space opera with so many interesting characters. I am especially happy that family was represented. We all come from someone, but most science fiction skips family. And, as soon as I finish this review I will be ordering the next one. This is an excellent read.

Excellent read - characters have depth and dimension, tech is believable. I could imagine being right along side the characters throughout the three books - very immersive. The Dark Space idea leaves a tremendous opportunity for other series about the war, various factions (Gors, Sythians, humans, immortals) - I look forward to seeing what comes of it (wish the store could alert me to new books by selected authors!)

I thought this series was worth the read. I borrowed the 1st book from the store, then had to borrow the 2nd. When I saw the trilogy, I decided to get it. I was not disappointed. The 3rd book was as entertaining as the first two.

The books are well written, and the characters well formed. At times it looked like there was going to be a loose end, but the author brought it together later, suspense.

I can't wait for the.next book.

The story pulls you into their world with all the twists and turns. I didn't want it to end and I was constantly checking the number of pages left to make sure there was more story to come. One the best I've read for a LONG time.

This series is wonderful reading for me. I read a lot in this genre, this one stands out with characters that are distinctive and not perfect. I recommend you start at the first one in the series and if you like it you will enjoy the ride. I personally am looking forward to the next book from Mr. Scott

As a daily reader, I rate this series a satisfying read worthy of it's eBook appropriate pricing. Engaging characters, interesting story line, no significant speed bumps while reading. If you like general scifi, you'll like this author.

I was a bit sceptical when I purchased this trilogy. I was even more sceptical when I read the first chapter, but I battled on (no pun intended) and I'm glad I did. It is one of most engaging stories I have ever read. One twist after another will keep you hanging on chapter after chapter. It's a great read. I highly recommend it.

I just finished reading Dark Space. I found the books very hard to put down. Mr. Scott had me picturing the plot going one direction, only to swerve it in unexpected ways. It was very entertaining and even thought provoking at times. I'm looking forward to reading the next book in the series. There seems to be much more to explore in Dark Space.

The is great sci-fi read, with compelling characters and an intriguing story. The action kept me going, turning page after page. There were some unlikely character outcomes, that you say "now that is a stretch" but then again we are talking about a fantasy story anyway. Overall I really enjoyed the series. It had me guessing and always wanting to keep reading to see where the story would go.

I enjoyed the first book in this trilogy last year and found it excellent. The further books in the trilogy are even better. A very captivating story with excellent character development and an insightful, creative plot. Highly recommended.

The entire three books flowed well. Each was complete unto itself. The characters were well developed. The third book tied up many loose ends and brought all the characters together. Looking forward to the fourth book.
