I really enjoyed this story, it was well-written, and quite gripping in its pace. I found myself connecting with the MC, and genuinely wanted to see her succeed. A great start, look forward to what comes next!

I was entertained. The character was funnier and more entertaining than other main characters in this genre. Also, there are so few main characters in this genre who are female. We need more books like this.
Hope for more soon.

I was just looking for something to get me through until the next book from some of my favorite series came out...now I have another series to follow.
Good character and plot so far. I can't wait to see what happens next.

I really enjoyed Temple of Sorrow. I found that it was very well written. I enjoyed the balance of character building, world building and action. There's plenty good humor mixed in as well. Good book.

The characters were engaging, and that is rare for litrpg type novels. There were a couple of points in the book where the wins did not seem appropriate, but I decided to give 5 stars instead of 4 since I really enjoyed the book.

Very well written. Has a great storyline that doesn’t follow the same old boring litrpg stories. Character development was also a fresh new feel as they weren’t god-like in powers instantly. Kept me wanting more and i cannot wait till the next book comes out

I liked this litrpg book. The magic and classes were unique and the overarching quest looks like it will be able to spread out over at least 4 more books. Looking forward to when the other books in the series come out.

Ms. Summers brings us something totally new.
Imagine entering into a video game without vertical glasses and gadgets attach. Set in the near future, you can now immerse yourself into a world where you smell, taste and interact with countless characters and wildlife. You decisions decide of you live or die; prosper or lose.
We follow Devon, a hardcore gamer who has been convinced to try the latest technology in a new game called Relic Online. As she enters the world and starts to learn how to gain points similar to a modern, Role Playing Game so that she can better deal with the open world and it’s inhabitants. As with all these types of games she must complete tasks or quests to gain more power and points.
When the points started being displayed, I thought to myself, this is going to grow old fast, but I was wrong. The story is told is such a seamless way that you are actually rooting for Devon and celebrate the different milestones as she reaches them.
There is plenty of action for the RPG people and the fantasy lovers. Monsters and rivals stretch the patience of our main character and she has to show both skill and courage to overcome the forces against her. I am truly happy this is just the first of a series, because I cannot wait to return to Relic Online.I know my kids will love this story as well.
I was given an Advance Reading Copy in return for an honest review, but I would buy it in a NY second.

When I started reading this book I panicked thinking I had gone into something which was too technical and only for those who were in on the gamers scene and I definitely have no knowledge about the gamers world at all, however, I am not one to give up on a book so I persevered and boy am I glad I did. This has turned out to be such an interesting read. Devon is a young gamer who was roped in to play in the newly launched immersive game. The strange thing is that I as the reader was also completely caught up in the game’s reality, totally forgetting it was just a game in the same way that Devon was experiencing. The Temple of Sorrow is full of dangers but Devon needs to overcome these and any fears she might have, if the community she is trying to build for her tribe is to succeed. During her adventure she gets to fight golems, ogres, magically corrupted monsters, enormous snakes and sabre toothed cats and it is only her ingenuity and creativity which help her to travel further towards her ultimate goal, the Temple of Sorrow itself, in order to retrieve the needed first relic. I highly recommend this book not just to readers who are also gamers but to all those who love fantasy with a touch of magic and lots of action. The gamers cannot miss reading this first book into what will surely turn out to be a series which is just down their street!
