The Thyroid Diet Plan is a comprehensive tool for people who may have already been diagnosed with thyroid imbalances and for those who are seeking a resource to help consult with a doctor. It lays out possible symptoms for the two common thyroid imbalances --Hypothyroidism and Hyperthyroidism as well as informative insights as to how the physical causes can relate to an emotional symptom such as depression. The most exciting part is that the book is packed with amazingly sounding recipes from Tuna Frittatas, Apple Couscous with Curry, to Open Faced Grilled Caesar Salad Sandwiches. A balanced plan of information and dietary guidelines for a person looking to regain their health and vigor.

I found the explanation of the thyroid and its functions extremely helpful and it then helped me to understand hypothyroidism more clearly along with all the suggestions, such as medication, vitamins, following the diet and exercise. After just a few days of the 30 day diet plan not only did I have more energy but I lost a few pounds. The recipes especially the snacks such as the Stuffed Cucumbers and Marinated Olives and Mushrooms are delicious. This book is a great aid for anyone looking to lose weight, increase energy or maintain a healthy thyroid.

A great resource for those dealing with Thyroid issues. Completely explains each aspect of thyroid problems and what each type needs. This cookbook is super detailed and has a lot of helpful ideas to make sure that all necessary nutrients are packed into the meals you can (and should) eat while offering options for weight loss. Recipes are broken down into meal categories (breakfast, lunch, dinner, savory snacks, desserts) and even has a 30-day meal plan. I highly suggest this, not only for those with Thyroid problems, but for anyone that is looking to be more health-conscious.

The kindle editions says in Chapter Two "High levels of TSH are evidence of hyperthyroidism; low levels signal hopythyroidism." YIKES! This is completely wrong - it is the reverse! I wasted $2.99 on this thing. Can I get my money back? I won't trust any info in this book, if they don't even know the most basic info about hypothyroidism.

This book gave very limited insight into thyroid disease, causes and treatments. Not, at any point, was a doctor or thyroid specialist quoted. Scientific studies were vaguely referenced and, if questions about the studies arose while reading, were not addressed. The book's main focus was to promote its recipe section. Many of the recipes could be found by simply searching for "hypo- or hyper-thyroid recipes." The recipes also did not offer any substitution suggestions or alternative cooking methods and/or cooking implementations. There were a few options that stuck out, such as the White Bean and Artichoke appetizer, the Salmon Salad and Nori Sheet Roll entree, and the Blueberry Mousse dessert. Overall, paying full printed price for this book seems exorbitant but as a quick study into thyroid disease or for someone looking for a compilation of easy, healthy recipes the Kindle format would work.

This is awful. TSH (Thyroid stimulating hormone) is elevated with hypothyroidism. I flipped through the preview and if the author has the most basic things incorrect I would suggest you not trust anything else this book says. http://www.webmd.com/women/thyroid-stimulating-hormone-tsh?page=3. If you know what TSH stands for even, the authors assessment makes NO sense. Your body releases the hormone when it wants to create more thyroid hormone, typically meaning that you are operating at a deficit. Again, I suggest you do not purchase this beek and speak with your doctor or a nutritionist on what you can do to help combat symptoms, namely difficulty losing weight.

My aunt has been suffering from a Thyroid condition for over a decade now. I remember when it first came on in her thirties. Since then many doctors have worked with her to get it under control, but her one major complaint has been the food she has to eat to keep stability. Well, this book has given her new energy! The details about her condition combined with the great tastes this book offers seem to have been written just for her.
When I picked this book up, I was just looking for some alternatives... little did I know how valuable it would be to a close family member. My kids love the recipes, and my oldest daughter (13) is reading the book now to be ready in case she has a thyroid condition when she gets older.
I really can't thank the author enough...well worth the investment of time and money!

The Thyroid Diet Plan is a user friendly guide to better thyroid health through a combination of diet, exercise and medication. It is an easy and quick read as the author lays out the purpose of the book and explains each chapter in plain language. It relies on research and urges patients to talk with their doctor about what the research means for their treatment. The author explains how medications interact with foods and how food choices affect function. The recipes seem quick and easy, and they are laid out in a 30-day plan. It forces the reader to think about diet as a life style change for healthy living, not just for losing weight.
