Love the information and concepts, agree that it is time for a revolution. Delivered in a casual and easy to understand format. I have not yet attempted the reboot or used the recipes. I know Aviva has posted about at least one error for the recipes/meal plans and apologized for the oversight. With book purchase she also offers social media connections that may be beneficial for some customers. She has a big online presence with videos and blog and always has helpful and supportive tips. The book reads quickly and flows nicely, and if you don't want to mark up your book with the questionnaires and charts, she offers downloadable forms to print out so to keep your book clean. I am 100% pleased with my purchase and am slowly working my way through it.

Blah, blah, blah. Vague, filled with buzzwords and repetitive anecdotes... but no hard diagnostic material or actionable interventions. Just keeps blathering on about similar anecdotes and statistics over & over. If you're looking for validation, you might enjoy this. If you're looking for clarity or actionable interventions, you'll be frustrated.

Dr. Romm truly expresses her love and caring attitude in this book. Her in depth study and everyday experience dealing with so many women affected by these disorders sheds finally some light of hope for many. I applaud her dedication and her desire to see women live healthier and happier lives. It will become contagious and the world can be a better place. Buy this book because it is extremely practical and she supports all of it. In fact buy several copies like I did and give them away to the people you know in your lives that need this kind of loving direction and support.

I was really disappointed in this book because her recommendations are against what so many other Thyroid specialists recommend. Mainly, the diet is filled with low fat, grains, and less protein than typically recommended for a more natural thyroid health plan. Might work for a few, but not the majority.

This book was recommended by my Chinese medicine doctor and it has been so helpful in my life. It helped me recognize that I was in severe adrenal fatigue and helped guide me and my doctor on what blood tests to order and what diet to follow to reset my adrenals and get my thyroid functioning again. Dr. Romm validates what many doctors don't...That your not crazy and it's not your fault. She also guides you through finding your root causes of adrenal fatigue and how to fix it. I love the holistic approach! I've shared the book with my doctor and she loves the book as well. I'm spreading the word because this book can help so many people feel like themselves again.

Excellent information. Haven't looked at the recipes yet. I've heard they aren't very helpful for the reset but I'm guessing they are good recipes. Just starting this process and it's all new to me. I'm impressed by the knowledge this physician has! She's great! I bought a hard copy of the book, an audible copy of the book and sent another hard copy to my mother. It's an extraordinarily helpful book. I just printed out resources and I'm considering doing her program for medical professionals.

I made the mistake of ordering this in audio book format. The author continually referred to charts, quizzes, and lists in other parts of the book. If I had the hard copy, I could have just flipped to those sections. I learned my lesson to order only narrative books in audio.
Other than that, I did get a few tips on how to reboot my body for it to heal naturally, so I recommend the book itself. Just be sure to order one you can hold in your hands.

The book addresses such common symptoms as brain fog, fatigue, hormone imbalance, GI upset and more, assisting readers to uncover the root causes of their symptoms and how to regain balance. Everything that is talked about in this book is what is happening to me. I find myself going yes yes yes thank god there are answers to my ailments! Now what do I do to heal myself?? Well, the way Dr. Romm lays out the protocol for healing is overwhelming and confusing, especially if you already feel like a fried egg and can hardly think at all due to SOS. I was hoping for a straight forward already put together meal plan that I could implement, along with all of the suggested supplements laid out in one place. There is so much flipping back and forth through pages, everything is scattered, I feel panicky just thinking about it. I highly recommend this book for those who need to better understand what is going on with themselves, and for gaining a broad understanding of what to do to heal. I love Aviva Romm and I appreciate her writing this book because it has touched my heart knowing that I am not drowning alone over here, but as for implementing the cure, I am in way over my head. It is confusing and overwhelming.

I am really excited about this book and have shared it with many family members already. For those that are already deep into functional medicine and the importance of mind-body practices this book is not earth shattering information, true, however it is presented in a very readable way with a concrete framework for immediately improving health. And even if much of the book serves as a reminder, these are valuable reminders coming at a time when stress collectively is at an all time high. The book points to many helpful resources and I'm also thrilled with all of the info shared on the author's website, Facebook group and through her podcast. Even if you've "heard it all before", are you doing it? I know I wasn't. This book consolidates a ton of research and is an empowering tool for action, and intentional non-action, too.

Sleep - who knew how important it could be to losing weight, feeling great and getting healthy. Evidently Aviva Romm did and shows us how to maximize our sleep in The Adrenal Thyroid Revolution. I began the full program within a day or two of the book being out. Within a week I had lots 5 lbs and not just any 5 lbs but the most stubborn difficult 5 lbs I have been trying to lose since my youngest was born. This is a must read for all women - there is a gem in here for each and every one of you!

I bought the book because Aviva's articles and advice dramatically improved both my and my son's health over the last couple years. I felt I owed it to Aviva. I love the book because I learned NEW information. The book explains the big picture - all the reasons why we're not well - and then goes on to help address each of those issues.
I particularly appreciate Aviva's explanation of stress. She explains that there are many different things that stress our bodies - from environmental toxins or food we eat that we don't tolerate to emotional stress from life situations. Then she explains how to address each of the stresses in particular, yet ties them together in a healing of the whole body.
Thank you, Aviva, for changing my life and saving my son from what would have been years of doctors visits, tests, and procedures.

I'll admit, when I first started reading this book, I was overwhelmed. My brain has been really foggy for such a long time, I wanted someone to just lay the plan out in front of me so I could just do it. I made my way through and had to read things a few times, but I like that I was learning why I had to eat in a much better way. I am also seeing a holistic doctor who is working to get my menopause hormones under control, then we will see how the adrenal hormones and thyroid are doing after the detox. In the first 2 weeks of the detox I have lost 9 pounds and am a lot less foggy than I was, but I am still having problems getting tired mid-morning while at work. I also have to keep working through sabotaging co-workers who bring in nothing but carby, sweet foods on an almost daily basis. I've been good so far, but having it around constantly is difficult.

I wish this information had been provided to me by doctors 30 years ago. As others have said, doctors relied on prescriptions as the first line of defense. it may be too late for me, but I still plan to follow the steps outlined in this book. I have been awaiting arrival of this book since I participated in a gut reset offered by the author last November, and had significant improvements in my health through it. I've suffered chronic illness for 22 years, and Aviva Romm's knowledge in this area has been one of the most helpful tools I've come across. The book is written very clearly, with much respect for the reader, and guidance for so many of the "yeah, but what if" scenarios that make people often not connect with a book. In reading this book, I feel as if I have access to a doctor, it is that clear and pertinent to women's issues, including CFS, Hashimoto's, postpartum issues, general fatigue, digestive issues, overwhelm, migraines, and much more. And, as an amazing bonus, it offers a staggering amount of wonderful recipes for every meal of the day: smoothies, breakfasts, lunches, dinners, snacks, you name it! I recommend this book highly! Do yourself a favor, and purchase this book - it has much to offer, even for someone who just wants to eat a little better, or improve their self care. It is a well-rounded, sensitive approach to good, healthy living! And, while you're at it, purchase an extra one for someone special!

After struggling for more than 2 years with chronic exhaustion, insomnia, stubborn weight gain, and other symptoms, I was thrilled to stumble upon Dr. Aviva's book and counted the days until it was released and showed up in my mailbox. I just finished reading it this morning, and It is everything I was hoping it would be and more.
At least 25% of the women I know (and probably closer to 50%) struggle with low energy; hormone, thyroid, or autoimmune problems; and/or anxiety/depression. Unable to get help from their primary physicians, many of them have just resigned themselves to living this way. But it doesn't need to be so! Drawing upon cutting edge research, Dr. Aviva connects the dots between chronic exhaustion, digestive trouble, autoimmune disease, hormone imbalances, insomnia, stubborn weight gain, bad moods, and a host of other seemingly unrelated symptoms--that in reality are very much related!. She understands the problem, and what's more, she has answers and solutions.
Women who have felt dismissed by the medical community or who have been told, "Your labs look great!" or, "It's all in your head," or even, "You just need to eat less and exercise more," will find a true and understanding friend in Dr. Aviva.

Next in the book come several symptom questionnaires that allow the reader to discover her own personal root causes, which help her to form her own personalized solutions in the following section. Next, Dr. Aviva provides a practical plan for a quick return to health and vitality--in many cases actually reversing autoimmune disease and other major diagnoses.
I had a true lightbulb moment when I read the sections about self-care. As a mother of four small children, I find myself taking care of everyone else first and never finding time to take care of myself. Dr. Aviva gives all of us busy women permission to pause; to take time to nurture and replenish our own emotional, mental, and physical stores. And in doing so, everyone around us benefits too! Also, her words about learning to overcome perfectionism, approval addiction, worry, and scarcity thinking were truly enlightening.
In addition to providing a wonderful, nourishing eating plan, Dr. Aviva includes are many, suggestions and resources for using natural herbs and supplements to help the reader in her journey toward better health, and--in some instances such as hypothyroidism--medications when warranted. There is also a wonderful chapter on thyroid health that really helped me decipher my lab results and understand what in the world has been going on with my thyroid.
The book is even beautiful to look at, with lovely graphic design and (blue!) color. The recipes I have tried suggest that resetting our diets does not have to mean deprivation--rather, quite the opposite! She has a flourless chocolate cake recipe that I am especially excited to try. I will say that the food plans and combination of recipes was a bit intimidating to me. A true foodie would find herself in foodie heaven, but if you are a kitchen novice, I would recommend that you also read Dr. Alan Christianson's book The Adrenal Reset Diet. His recipes are very simple and could be adapted for Dr. Aviva's program.
I am so grateful for the research and hard work that have gone into this wonderful book, and I truly hope it will spark a revolution in women's healthcare. I am currently implementing the program in my life and will try to update this review when I have finally taken back my health.

If you have suffered from vague symptoms and your practitioner has not been able to get to the bottom of the root cause you should read this book! I am a Registered Nurse and I was searching for answers & was only finding bits & pieces to fit in the puzzle of my symptoms. Dr. Romm has explained so well how our body is effected by many different stressors that ultimately show up as symptoms that wreck havoc on our immune system, adrenal and thyroid function. She lays out a plan how to reboot after she helps you discover your cause of symptoms. I have recommended this book to several of my patients who are searching for answers! My doctor recommended I read it and together we are getting the answers that is helping him figure out what is going on with me. I am very thankful Dr. Romm has written this book to help so many with unanswered problems that have most likely been dismissed by their practitioner.

Excellent content. I purchased the hard copy and lent it to a friend, so I also downloaded the audio version to listen to while on a trip north. I know there is a lot I missed in listening to the book - all the questionnaires and handouts, although they can be found online. The nutritional information is vital to overall good health, and is a terrific re-boot for anyone having any type of health issues. Thank you again, Aviva!

I really love all the info, tables, recipes, and thought that went into this book! As a breastfeeding mother, I'm so glad Dr. Romm took the time to include notes to cater specifically towards pregnant and breastfeeding moms! All of the recipes I've tried so far are amazing and simple. The only thing I wish this book had is titles at the top of the page so I can quickly find what I'm looking for while sharing the book with friends. Of course, I solved the issue by simply dog earring ton of pages!
