Dacians have got themselves another fan! Trehan and Bettina are a great addition! I also LOVED Morgana and Salem! I looked forward to Morgana's quips and witty remarks. Salem is definitely sigh-worthy (for a sylph who can't even take a corporeal form!) and deserves his own story from this encounter alone!
Brava, Ms. Cole! And, please more!

This is the first book in the Immortals After Dark series where I felt the leading man was actually in love. In other ones it almost seems like the compassion and the sensitive part of the character was there in a good balance with the strong ruthless warrior. I loved the direction Kresley Cole took in this book, somehow it seemed different.

Great Book! New universe and new characters! This book was fun to read with all the twists and turns. It really kept me on my toes expecting one thing and receiving something totally different. I kept wondering how this couple would make it through all their "baggage". Good Job Kresley.
Demon from the Dark (Immortals After Dark Book 10) :: Lothaire: Immortals After Dark, Book 12 :: Playing Easy to Get (Vikings Underground Book 3) :: Dark Desires After Dusk (Immortals After Dark Book 6) :: Wicked Deeds on a Winter's Night (Immortals After Dark Book 4)

Some people have complained that the lead male wasn't forward enough because he didn't just steal his Bride and force her to submit...
Whatever, Reading and imagining the scenes while he fought for her, seduced her slowly, and then won her. Intense, romantic, and a knockout!

I really liked Trehan Daciano. His unfailing devotion to his Bride and all the ways that he continuously strives to win her hand and her heart made me wish there were real men this devoted to their wives. I totally love this series by Kresley Cole, am always looking forward to the next book, and periodically re-read them with just as much enthusiasm as the first time.

Another amazing book from Kresley Cole!!!! I love Trehan and Bettina! Such good chemistry between them!!! From the first book she has ever written to this one, I am continually amazed at how well she writes, how much passion she puts in her books, and how she never fails to surprise me :)
Hopefully the next book will be about Caspion! Must go and read Lothaire again, this book made me ache to revisit he and Elizabeth and see them "get laid"...lol!!!

**SPOILERS**

Bettina's obsession with Cas was annoying, as he wasn't presented as a very likable character, and her interactions with every male were kind of ridiculous. 2.5 Stars. Bettina was a "Mary Sue" character.

I normally love everything that she writes but this was kind of horrible. The characters weren't developed very well and as a result both Trehan and Bettina came off as indecisive and pawns in a bigger scheme. It also ended pretty abruptly and as sort of an afterthought. I got the impression that Cole either didn't really want to write Shadow's Claim or it would have been better as a short story.

Totally loved it. New branch in the series, just lived the whole damsel, contest, duel thing. Worked on every level, good pace, great character development from the start. I high recommend it. Plus you don't have to have read other books in the series to really appreciate it.

I finally found a book that compares to Lothaire. I loved the Lothaire references but mostly I loved the in the ring action and how every time I thought things were going to happen one wAy they went another. I loved this book. It was very romantic too.

ive read nothing but romance for years and it sems that after a while, all romance novels are the same. However this book is new, with surprises at every turn. Never predictable, this book will keep you on the edge of your seat. You won't be able to put it down til its done!

I have loved every single one of the Immortals After Dark series, but I really love this spin-off series. I always thought Lothaire had potential for a great series and glad to see she took it that direction. He's a good kind of crazy, lol! Can't wait for the next one Ms. Cole!

Loved the battle scenes. Kind of sick of the being "blooded" issue throughout all the IAD series. But looking forward to the 2nd book in this series. I especially like seeing little hints of Nix in there. I love her...she needs a book!

My daughter told me about the Author, after the first book; I bought everything I could get my hands on that she wrote and read them all; and check when new books will come out. I love her books, they are so so so GREAT!

Kresley Cole has not disappointed me yet! She continues this epic series with another amazing romance story full of passion, ecstasy, competition, and deciept! I absolutely enjoyed reading this book and can't wait for the next installment. If you haven't read the other books, then this is a good time to start! This series is one of my favorites and I promise you will not be disappointed. So far I have read all of Kresley Cole's books and they are all very good. I recommend this series :)

After reading Lothaire, I was looking forward to the next book and what a huge disappointment in terms of the female lead. I quite frankly could not stand her. I love strong female leads as in Lothaire, one of the best in this series. In this story, The author did a great job creating a character no one could like, except her mate. I still cannot figure out what he saw in her. Redeeming qualities in the story were the male lead, the supporting characters and Lothaire making an all too very brief appearance.

Kresley Cole knows what her readers' want and she delivers! Filled with droll sarcasm, humor, gore, uncensored violence, and hot sex, Shadow's Claim is another winner! Paranormal romance at it's best. Only thought, where is the next book?

The Dacians make for good reading. It doesn't hurt that the protagonist, Trehan, is a sexy mix of smart, dangerous, lethal, mysterious and strong yet caring. I love a hero who isn't just one note, he's complex. Old friends make an appearance that you might not have expected. That's one thing I love about these books, once you've met and made an emotional connection with a character, you get to see them again. We finally get to meet Morgana and I like her a lot! Believe me when I say this was pre-ordered the minute I saw Kresley Cole had a new series she was working on.

Shadow's Claim has it all. It's intense! There are surprises. It's...hot! It's sweet. But...of course. It's not at all what you're expecting, but so much more in the end.

Definitely recommend!

Ms. Cole is a great storyteller and usually once I pick up one of her books, I cannot put it down until it is finished!! I enjoyed the characters and storyline in this novel and can't wait for the next one:)

The last two in the IAD series were less captivating in my opinion (though I would still give them 5 stars), but this was back up to Cole's extremely high standards. She is my favorite author. I can't wait for the next installment. Funny, exciting, and hot.

cunning, sexy, evil with the hearts of lions and a sense of humor, this series gets better with each book, love scenes to die for..kresley cole is without a doubt one of the most creative writers in paranormal romance, characters and story lines are addictive, once you begin one of her books, you will be unable to set it aside. shadow's claim was everything I expected and then some...loved it..

I absolutely loved this book. Ms Cole always delivers.

I loved these new characters and new worlds and enjoyed the cameos by well-known and loved characters from the IAD universe. I also appreciated that while this is a separate series from the IAD one - we don't miss anything because these Loreans are also gearing up for the accession.

Trehan is a wonderful hero. I'm not a big vampire fan, I enjoy Ms Cole's werewolves and demons more but Trehan is one of my favourite vamps. He's right up there with Lothaire. I found Bettina's indecision regarding the two males in her life a little frustrating. She just clung to her other "love interest" a little too long in my opinion. But she was likable enough and I understood her loyalty even while I wanted to bash her over the head sometimes.

I can't wait to read the other books in this series and I can't wait for the next IAD book.

Highly recommended!

Not one of my favorite Kresley Cole reads. Usually I can't put down her books, this one, I had to make myself keep reading. It just did not keep my interest and seemed to drag through the story line.

Another good book from kresley cole. I enjoyed having an entire book set in another dimension/ world and the story line was interesting. The characters are not as stand out as some but they are still worth reading about.

I actually put off reading Shadows Claim because I loved IAD so much that I didnt want to be dissapointed with a new series. Oh yee of little faith! Buy this book NOW, you will love it. The internal conflict of the characters is what I loved most abput this book and how the two main characters not only bring out their biggest fears but helps them to heal. The chemistry between the two is just explosive, I could not put this down because I just had to know what they would do next. Wish I didnt have to wait for the next one.

I love this series. So many magical being and such a great story writer. Not just a romance, but a whole other world. I just wish these came out more than once a year. Lothaire was great, too. As for the store, they shipped in a timely manner. No problems

I have never, ever come across a Kresley Cole story that I did not like. I like this story. It's just that I am used to being spoiled by Ms Cole. I mean, come on! Lothaire? I was totally enthralled with that character and the strength that the heroine had to have to put up with him. This story is different, I felt the heroine not as strong or willfull. He is too... nice? Still, a good read and the action was fun.
