This book perfectly outlines what we're asking in a way that a toddler can understand. I've come to the conclusion that my daughter isn't quite ready for night weening, but I think this book will help in the future. She enjoys reading this book, and I know that she fully comprehends it. The first night I told her that we were implementing it just like in the book, she screamed an cried. If that isn't full understanding, I don't know what is. Haha. Despite our seriously negative reaction, I think the book is amazing and definitely recommend it.

The book features co sleeping and rocking back to sleep when awakened during night. Which we do both and refers to milk as nursies I changed it to milk when I read which is relevant to us. (Can't really call it something else 2 years in) good book cute illustrations has helped with night weening 2 year old. Used to be such a dramatic fight now I just offer water and she's fine. Great tool for us but very specific book for some I suppose. Book is thin should probably cost less maybe eight paperback pages. Has night weaning advice though too.

This is an absolutely gorgeous book. Our toddler loves reading it with us and talking about 'nursies going night night'. The back contains helpful recommendations for parents trying out night weaning.

The drawings are beautiful and the message is certainly one that I'm trying to get through to my kid. My only issue is the disparity between the text and the drawings. It's obviously a family affair, and the dad is clearly present on almost every page, but for some reason he's left out of the text. I've been adding "papa is asleep" when I read the book to my son, but I really wish the author would have written dad into the text.

It's a sweet book with nice illustrations meant to night wean your little one. However, it's clearly about a family that cosleeps together in the same bed. And while we do this occasionally, I am not interested in promoting it as a way to night wean my toddler. We get less sleep when he's in the bed. I wish this would have been more clear before I bought the book.

Beautiful book to help little children understand the gentle nighttime weaning process, the illustrations are beautifully done in such a way that portrays the family unit as being part of the journey, really good book

Beautifully illustrated book. Been reading this every night for a week now. My daughter loves it. Always says mommy book when its time to read before bed. I believe agree understands becauae she always nods her head as we're reading it. Unfortunately she she still has been waking up in the middle of the night to nurse still. Its like when shes half asleep she forgets. She also just got a cold so maybe that has more to do with her waking and feeding. Will try again when she is better and update if we're sucessful.

This book has been very helpful in the night weaning process for our toddler. He loves the dreamy pictures and I sometimes hear himself repeating parts of the book to his bunny :) The message is simple, "Nursies" when the sun shines. The author also provides a lot of tips & helpful info for mothers in the back. I highly recommend this book for anyone wanting to do gentle night time weaning.

I love the drawings in this book! My daughter actually would push this book away as we began our night weaning journey. She understood perfectly what they story was about but grew to wanting to hear the story. We just plugged the word "milk" in whenever it said "nursies". It helped her grasp the concept of waiting for the sun to shine.

In our struggle to night wean, I ordered this book and an e-book version of "Sally Weans from Night Nursing." While this book far outshines the other artistically and linguistically, it wasn't a great fit for us as we do not co-sleep. Also, it doesn't address the process or feelings associated with night weaning.

My daughter likes this book but I think she would be more interested if it was a little longer. It's so nice to have a book that depicts how we sleep as a family. It hasn't helped her wean, but who am I kidding... I'm not pushing the issue like I should be lol.

I think the images are beautiful in this book. However that's the only thing I like about it. The story is so short it's ridiculous. I paid almost $10 for this item and the quality is terrible. I enjoy letting my toddler turn the pages with me and I don't even want her to touch this book because it's so fragile. It's like it was printed from someone's home.

Sweet book with beautiful art. We cosleep with our 20 month old and are trying to wean her gently. This book has been helpful in trying to explain morning and night to her. She likes seeing pictures of a family situation that looks very much likes her own.
Bonus: there's a cat in the book and she loves kittens. Lol

A beautiful, gender-netural book for nursing 12+ children who co-sleep (even occasionally). Though, more racial diversity in children's books in general would be nice, this is a lovely breast-feeding friendly book.

My daughter (26 months) and I absolutely adore this book. After just a few reads, she can nearly recite the book word for word. What I don't like is that I paid $14.99 through the store, but when the book came it is clearly labeled with $9.99. Why am I paying $5 MORE than the list price?

Not many books address the topic of night weaning a toddler. I was hesitant to choose this one but was hoping the beautiful illustrations mentioned would win us over. Was excited to receive the book so we could quickly add this to our nightly bedtime/story routine. But I was immediately disappointed by the quality of the book, especially for the price. I knew it was a paperback but the cover and paper are so thin and flimsy. While we try to keep our kids from handling non-board books, it's difficult to read to 16mo twins and not have them want to turn the page or handle the book. I knew this book would end up destroyed. I read it to them a few times while nursing so they'd be distracted (and not want to touch the book) but overall I wasn't impressed with the story. Ultimately, until more books about weaning are made and address different families/sleeping arrangements, I think I'm much better off creating my own picture book and story.

Such a beautifully illustrated book! I love it! It's one of only two children's books on the subject (as far as I could find). I haven't started the big night weaning process yet but this book has given me hope that I can. In addition to helping the child understand the concept of sleeping when it's dark and nursing when it's light, it also has weaning tips for parents at the back of the book. An amazing aid.

Beautiful pictures. I wish the child went to bed in his own bed instead of with parents, but it works the same. My son will say in the night - no nursies at night time, it makes me laugh. Although he still does nurse at night at this point, he is processing this information and idea. It is very short and sweet

This enchanting book was well worth the effort & shipping cost to order from the US for delivery to the UK.
The artwork is beautiful - my son loves the last picture showing a child feeding, and the ones of everyone in the family bed, and... all of them really! Everything about the book is thoughtful: the child is not gender-specific; the words are pitched perfectly for our nursling children. Easy to adapt 'nursies' to whatever word is used in your family. This has truly been a no-cry night weaning method for my son (3.5 years).
I'll be sure to buy any more books produced by this author & illustrator.

The illustrations in this book are gorgeous. We got this several months ago but my daughter didn't seem to get it. We are just about to try night weaning so I am reading it to her and at 22 months she seems to enjoy it. I can tell she really relates to the toddler in the book and is delighted when we get to the part where she nurses in the morning while getting a kiss from dad. The author gives tips at the back which are smart and helpful. If you don't co-sleep this probably wouldn't work because it's all about the family sleeping together - but it's perfect for the majority who are looking for gentle night weaning help.

My very young toddler loves this book! She wants to read it every day. I would recommend this for any breastfeeding/bed sharing infant or toddler, only caveat is that this is not a board book, all pages, including the cover are flexible and thin.
It has one or two lines per beautiful colored page, very easy to read to your baby. The story is simply a family going to bed at night, the child waking up in the middle of the night (seeing that it is still dark outside), and then again in the morning to nurse. It is supposed to give the child the idea, that nursing is a daytime activity "when the sun shines". The last two pages give advice on how to nightwean. I think that any breastfeeding baby, whether presently weaning or not, will enjoy looking at this book, simply showing a family's love and night/morning ritual. 5 Stars!

The only thing to thing about when getting this book is that in summer time, living in Portland OR, it stays light until 930pm most of the summer... it's not dark outside which is the premiss of the reason you are not nursing. I just say it's sleep time and change the words a bit.

I am currently 3 months pregnant with my second baby, and still nursing my 2 1/2 year toddler. However, nursing through pregnancy, specifically at night, was becoming increasingly painful and difficult. It was time for the 24 hour all-you-can-eat snack bar to come to a close! Well, we are on night FIVE... My 2 1/2 year old is now night weaned and SLEEPING THROUGH 11+ hours!!! This book has been a glorious accompaniment to our gentle night weaning plan, and is my daughter's current favorite read! Now, I am only waking once a night to pee and to snack (thank you, baby en utero), but hey, at least it is no longer 4 times a night to twilight feed my toddler! THANK YOU! :)

There are even directions you can follow to make te process easier for you.
We read to our 16 month old and at his age, you could really see in his face, his understanding of what was going to happen, of sleeping until the sun comes up. It has helped us a lot. Still wakes occasionally in the night but for the most part, sleeps later in the morning (from his usual 5:45!)
Highly recommend.
