I had already purchased this book for myself and have enjoyed listening to the birds (it's a talking book) and identifying the birds. The only drawback is that it's too big to carry if going on a hike to birdwatch.

I ordered 3 more books for Christmas presents this year. I'm sure the recipients will enjoy it too!

This is a great book for anyone who is interested in learning different bird sounds and some information about birds. There are a variety of different birds to listen to, it is well organized, and the audio is very clear. This was nicely put together in a hard bound book with great color pictures! Nice price, too! Perfect for any age group!

For birders with aging eyes needing to sharpen voice identification, this book is a big help, particularly if you have a place to sit because the book is much too heavy and awkward to carry in the field.

A unique product where the bird picture, description, and the actual song are all incorporated into one large book with 250 pictures and corresponding dialable songs. All other competetors require a separate CD rather than a built in audio format which is unique and wonderful. My grandkids love it and want their own books.

This is a wonderful book........filled with beautiful pictures and actual bird songs for each bird. We really enjoy looking up our backyard birds and identifying their songs. This is a wonderful way to teach children about nature. My 4 year old granddaughter just loves this book and wants to look at it together every times she visits. I highly recommend this book, especially if you have children!

I specifically wanted an audio of bird songs, in order to identify the various bird songs within my northern Montana area, and this item looked like a great purchase. However, it is apparently not yet available to Kindle users as an audio, therefore, I am rejecting my purchase. I do hope that this item becomes available as an audio through the Kindle system, as it would be VERY cool, to take the kindle, with actual bird sounds, and written bird descriptions, into the field.

Watching birds out the breakfast room window is a favorite passtime for my mother who has Alzheimers's disease.
Now we can look at the pictures and hear songs of birds we can't see out the window, and identify some that fly through Houston, our home town.
So glad someone introduced us to this book and we could buy it for keeps.

This book was really cool! I bought for my grandmother for Xmas and she loved it. Plus, it drove my cat nuts when I would play certain bird songs! There is one page for each bird, as well as it's corresponding song.

This book is exactly what I was looking for! The illustrations are large and the book is printed on high quality, durable paper. The sound element is amazing as well. I was surprised that it was so easy to move between sounds, and the volume feature is great. It's much more helpful to hear a specific bird call than to read a description like chee-chee-twee.

Great book for my coffee table for people to press the bird numbers. My favorite is the Northern Mockingbird, and my cats never fail to perk up their ears at it.

I've seen birds in my back yard react to different bird songs I played, so I can imagine that a lighter weight book would be great to take on field trips for attracting certain birds.

Some of the owls are eerie sounding, but I love owls (they eat mice, right?), so I play them often. There are others I haven't even heard of, not being a birder. But I'm handling the learning curve, and it's certainly fun!

This is the perfect book for the novice bird watcher. The songs are recorded, not simulated, and clearly identifiable. A real treat for the arm-chair bird watcher. The Backyard Birdsong Guide: Western North America

I love the calendar so much (because of the recorded singing birds, of course), that I have decided to keep it instead of giving it as a gift & will have to see about getting another one next year, too.

This is now our favorite coffee table book-- although we have to tear it out of the hands of guests in order to have conversation about something else. The sound is excellent. Gave a copy to my sister who also loves it.

I purchased this to read with my 6yr old daughter who is fascinated by birds. She loves to sit and listen to the bird calls and learn all about each individual one. Great purchase and resource for the price. Almost $20 cheaper than Barns & Nobles.
