I especially liked the chapter on "Farming your Body." I have always had digestive issues and understandably so, no doctor has ever told me to listen to my body. They have always told me to eat based off the food pyramid, which is not the most effective resort for someone like me. Not listening to my body is probably my biggest downfall. I don't trust the medical system in our country and I believe our doctors have failed us all, including my mother who died of cancer when I was 17. I trust books like these that teach us how to know for ourselves what is right rather than placing our lives in the hands of doctors. We need to educate ourselves about what true health means for each and every one of us. Thank you Otakara for sharing your insight! You are among the brave few willing to speak the truth.

Otakara puts together all that we would learn separately about our bodies, Nature and mind into a system that works. This book is engaging and exciting as it teaches while telling a story -- Otakara's story of winning over debilitating illness and achieving excellent health and happiness and keeping both of them. Her story involves, among other things, the trillions of beneficial microscopic creatures that inhabit our bodies who keep us alive and healthy. This is definitely a wonderful book that can change your life!

Our bodies were created to heal themselves. Unfortunately today's stressful lifestyle and bad dietary habits have eroded that ability. Ms Klettke stresses that we should listen to the signals our body is trying to send us about what it needs. The body had it's own innate wisdom, and if we trust our intuition, rather than our mind, our body will tell us what it needs.
This is an easy to read book, packed with wisdom based on personal experience. Every person with a health problem would benefit from the knowledge within.

I gained a lot of knowledge and insight while reading Hear Your Body Whisper. The author shared her journey and ways for the reader to implement listening to their body. In a society filled with noise, it was helpful and refreshing to be guided to listen and understand what your body is trying to say. I highly recommend this book for anyone who wants to work with their body to better health and stop forcing things that don't work.

This is a powerful book. Using her personal and professional experience, and her comprehensive research skills, the author has provided the reader with a how to manual to know and understand your body in a new and intuitive way.
The energy in the author's words just jumps out at you demanding your attention and you want immediately to give it. The end result can only be a new relationship with your body that will give you a healthier and more effectively balanced life.
Her message is clearly sent in her own words, "The more you care about your own being, the more you are supporting a healthier planet. Healthy, functioning people mean a better future for us all, our children and this planet."

Otakara Klettke separates our human body from our consciousness, and our soul, in this amazing work of ' how to listen' to your body; offer it the care it needs. As the author shares, just as a mother knows what is troubling her infant, we must learn to listen to those messages our own bodies are communicating and act accordingly.
From the foods we eat; the addicitve habits we build, break, build again and hopefully learn to break for good; learning of energy calm through meditation and affirmations, Otakara Klettke offers sage advice.
Easy to read, packed with examples, and the stories of this author's own ill childhood and how she overcame a disease that could have killed her, this book is a gift!

Great book on learning to listen to your body and understand what your body truly needs. This seems to be a foreign concept for most people today, yet it's a powerful way to connect with your body's own healing wisdom. I'm a firm believer that our words have power and we have what we say. This book will teach you how to harness that power for better health.

I enjoyed reading this book as the author didn't "preach" her philosophy on the reader, rather, shared her own story of healing and how she recommends listening to your own body in order to utilize your natural healing powers. Practical and easy to follow tips allow you to start and grow in your healing journey.

Talking to Your Body
In her book 'Hear Your Body Whisper’ Otakara Klettke, tells us how to communicate with our bodies. Can we really talk to our bodies? And could our bodies respond ? Klettke is in touch with her body frequently and in a loving and friendly manner. She even thanks her body for doing certain things and apologizes when things go wrong. Although much has been written about improving our health and wellbeing, this book has an intimate approach - It is based purely on personal experience. And this experience is truly unique.
With a sick childhood and constant health issues the author spent the first 17 years of her life being either in bed or at the hospital for surgeries. While other children were enjoying sports and parties she could barely manage to stay alive. It is said that early in school she was so weak she could not carry her own books. When she gradually grew into her teens she became aware of her bodily needs and discovered how to talk to her body and get relief . Increasing experience and obsessive research guided her development . Incrementally, and with moderation she introduced the necessary nourishment to help her body to make it stronger and more resilient. Not only did she become knowledgeable about foods and drinks, she realized the need for sports and social life. She even became more sophisticated; she taught herself meditation and how to communicate with her conscious and subconscious minds. As her expertise became well known she was offered a position as a senior trainer. Later she even started giving lectures and appearing on TV. She was happy to give advice freely in order to help others.
What will the reader learn from Klettke’s book? We should keep in mind that the book evolved from a person who endured many long and painful years. Her initial concern was mere survival. Nevertheless , there is much in the book that could be useful: Endurance, patience, lack of self pity, determination and persistent research, are perhaps on top of the list. On the more detailed level are the learning techniques and advice for moderation in foods and drinks, the need for exercise, the importance of meditation , the need for fresh air, organic food, and adequate sleep - the things we read about often these days.
What we should keep in mind also is that in a relatively short book like this with such a large variety of topics, not every subject could be covered in adequate detail (e.g. meditation, weight control…). The ambitious reader will need to pursue these and other subjects of interest elsewhere.

This book was really interesting & had a lot of new information to offer. By the looks of it, the author has spent many years researching into bodily health and knows what she is talking about. I am reading it for the second time now, and have started incorporating some tips that resonate with me. I like the fact that she doesn't spell out hard and fast rules for everyone, always emphasising that each person is unique. Also, the anecdotes about stick insects and bees were interesting.
The reason I am giving it 4 stars rather than 5 is twofold:
1) Many glancing references were made & the reader was directed to the Internet for more research. But when I did look up a few of them, I didn't net the same results. For instance one was about a genetically modified fish called the Chinook Salmon or Franken fish. But all I got for the latter name was a reference to a movie. The former term netted a legitimate fish going by that name with no hint of GM. There was an interesting allusion made to an experiment with strawberries and how we could extract the DNA from it in a visible, tangible way. I wouldn't have minded the experiment being outlined in the book itself rather than a suggestion to look it up.
2) The second reason is the number of typos. There were at least a dozen instances of an article either being omitted where it belonged or added where it shouldn't have been. United States was spelled Unites States once. A semi-colon appeared before a list rather than a colon. And there were other typos as well. I wish the editors had done a better job at proofreading, as these errors kept popping up at me and jarred with what should have been a smooth read.
That said, I purchased and read it for the informational content rather than any literary merit. With this, I am fairly satisfied.

You can tell that this author truly believes in her message and with good reason. Reading this book is like sitting down in quiet conversation with an old friend who has something important to tell you. Her take on the body-mind battle and how to really listen and tune in to what your body wants and needs is enlightening. It's obvious that she speaks from experience and her passion for helping others achieve the same level of healing. This book has completely changed the way I think about my health and diet. Thank you for sharing this important message with the rest of us.

I was disappointed in this book. I'm not new to talking with my body, and would love to go deeper than I have so far. The author talks about talking with her body over and over, and promises in the title that she will show us her way of doing that. She doesn't. The book is fine for very basic health advice; she has some unusual viewpoints which are interesting but anecdotal; no real discussion of how to connect with the self healing mechanism such that new information can be exchanged directly with the body. It's a good start for someone who has never thought of this kind of relationship with the body, but if you are already exploring this, it's too basic. Disappointing given the title and tag line; does not deliver.

I really enjoyed reading this book. I think it is a very positive book with a lot of information. I read up on a lot of GMO info, etc and the part where she spoke about estrogen in the water was informative and scary. Although a know a good bit of what was in this book, I am going to buy it because this is a great source where all of that knowledge is compiled together. Sometimes the ole brain forgets things so I want to have this book around to brush up on my knowledge from time to time. I fully believe in positive affirmations and meditation as well. All in all, this was a great read. I read it free with my the store Unlimited membership but enjoyed it so much that I am buying it so I show it to my friends, who are not as knowledgeable about all of these topics, so they will buy it as well.

Hear Your Body Whisper takes a comprehensive and practical look at how energy in the body works alongside nutrition. The author comes from a holistic perspective and offers useful suggestions as to how our food choices and emotional choices can help to cleanse our bodies and keep us pain free.
Specifically, I found the author's knowledge on how to better group the foods you're eating to help your body digest them better. I've been trying it and a person who struggles with food sensitivities I'm finding this information particularly helpful.
This book is for the body, the spirit, and the mind.

Inspired by the author’s personal experience of over-coming poor health in her youth to embrace vibrant health into adulthood, this book is a beautiful story about listening to and honouring your body to restore your health and wellbeing. This book touches on the unseen forces that play a role in healing the human body, as well as the power of positive thought, affirmations and meditation, and the place and importance of diet and nutrition. There were many themes in this book that I enjoyed and can relate to, and feel this book would be an invaluable aid to any person who wants to harness all forces (both seen and unseen) to live their best life.

As a person who suffers from auto immune issues and prefers to abstain from pharmaceuticals, I found this book to be a powerful resource. I identify with Otakara Klettke, with her message, and the alternative answers she provides. It gives you alternatives to endless prescriptions without flying in the face of science or logic. This book is easy to understand and will help you tailor a simple program to fit YOUR body's needs, if you are willing to quiet your mind and listen.

Prominent features of this book are I and mine, followed by you. The first chapter promised something that was never delivered. A total rant of a book. Does any adult really need a book that mentions that carrots are a nice snack? Nothing to do with listening to your body. Some facts and some speculation about everything from nutrition to sleep to exercise. Great title, and it includes a wonderful story about her pet insects. The rest? Bland and not well formed.

I really enjoyed this book. If you've ever suffered from a serious health problem that mainstream medicine can't fix, you'll get comfort and inspiration from the author's story. I'm not anti-science by any means... but for many people, science hasn't progressed enough for doctors to know what to do to fix us. And I like the author's approach of observing, listening to your body and working with it, rather than fighting it. Absolutely wonderful!

I purchased the Audible version of 'Hear Your Body Whisper'.
Fascinating and insightful journey by the author into listening to the mechanisms within our own bodies which naturally guide us towards health.
As much as possible I've attempted to implement Klettke's protocols to ensure a healthy, rejuvenated body. I'm still working to tune in and listen to the guidance of my body. We have some incredible systems that regulate the functions of our bodies - learning to tune in and listen to what the body is asking for, beyond the clutter of sensory cravings, will bring us more in alignment with the functions that seek the best for our bodies.
This is a must read for anyone convinced that the natural, super intelligence in our body will steer us to what is best for the body.

Join Otakara Klettke on a journey of healing your relationship with your body. Discover the deep intelligence of your cells as Otakara walks you in a meditative mode through the process, helping you to discover your own body rhythm. Become aware of your hidden healing potential and discover inner peace. Otakara has a very important message: reminding us to love and respect our bodies not just philosophically. The link between diet and health is becoming obvious. We don’t need more scientific studies to tell us what to do. We can benefit from the journey of others like Otakara Klettke who dedicated time and energy experimenting, observing, documenting and sharing. I am writing this review as a holistic nutritionist, and a life-coach.

We need more books like this to teach what health is really about. Instead of looking to the outside world for quick fixes to our health problems, we only need to look inside and listen to what our bodies are saying. Creating synergy between mind and body is the solution.
After reading this book I am left wondering why we are taught that mind and body are opposing forces. The whole is so much more than the sum of the parts.

Hear Your Body Whisper is the foundation for achieving optimum health. What I appreciated most was that Otakara didn't advocate any one kind of diet, lifestyle, or exercise as the "right one." Each of us is unique and we have to decide for ourselves what creates our best health. She shares her experience and research in a no-nonsense, practical way. Her story is inspirational, her advice is practical, and plentiful research backs it all up.

Empowering, inspirational and very deep book on how to listen to our body's signs and whispers. With so much conflicting information out there about what it takes to be healthy, it's easy to get confused. She also shares her amazing journey to healing by doing just that. Inspiring read.
