I really liked this story. it has poignancy, tenderness, and some wonderful folksy humor. The characters are well-drawn and believable. I particularly liked the flashbacks which helped develop the 'Baby Girl' character in the reader's understanding.

I really enjoyed this book. Started reading it when I was in "blue" mood and the humor picked me right up. The writing made me believe I actually knew the characters. The contrast between the down home folks and Baby Girl was so vivid and believable. I would recommend this book to any one who ever questioned their participation in a family unit. Its great!

Loved this book! From the very beginning you hooked on the story and the characters. Each and every personality was unique, yet they all blended so well to create a truly heartwarming and, at time an absolute laugh out loud experience. I would recommend this to everyone. Has me wanting to read more about these characters, as well as more Fannie Flagg stories.

Wonderful story and the journey takes you to a surprise that I was not expecting. Well done. This should be made into a movie. It would be lovely to go back in time in the U.S when times were so different yet similar in others.

This story isn't as entertaining as "Fried Green Tomatoes", or even "Redbird Christmas", but it is still worth reading. Fannie's characters are always simple--but loveable--and this one is no exception.

Another Fannie Flagg novel at her best. Fannie never disappoints. This is a novel where a star in the news business is under intense pressure and suffers medical problems. Despite the fact that she knows this distant family very little, they take her in and treat her with great kindness and love. She finds what she realizes she's been missing all her life.

I've read the series, starting with Standing in the Rainbow, then Welcome to the World Baby Girl, ending with Can't Wait to Get to Heaven at least three times. I love these books and the characters that Fannie Flagg has developed in them.

This novel was very entertaining and sweet .The town I grew up in was small and had good God fearing people with morals like in novel. Mrs.Flag was right to show how good people still do exist and how people can change. I have had meaningful conversation about some of the topics that are in the book.

It got me with the mention of "Cashmere Bouquet", a powder my grandmother wore, and a flood of memories came rushing with the remembrance of that fragrance. That set the tone and the rest of the characters fell together perfectly like pieces in a puzzle. What a great book! Loved it!

I thoroughly enjoyed this down home nicely paced book. With the humor we expect from Fannie Flagg and the depth of character and thought she adds I just wondered if the title may put some folks off, don't let it!

This novel has a lot to offer. Unfortunately, instead of writing this story sequentially, the reader is ping-pinged back in forth through time.
This is a really interesting plot and if you can stand the whiplash, I think you will enjoy the characters and the unveiling events. I will read the second book in the series.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book, and am looking forward to reading more books written by Fannie Flagg. I would love to live in Elmwood Springs, where much of this novel takes place! I highly recommend this book!
