Obviously from a different era of erotica. This book contains only paddling & same sex encounters for 90% of the chapters. I thought possibly the rest of the series would be varied but I was wrong. Deleted it from my kindle when I was done as it was sooooooo boring.

While I liked 50 shades of gray, this trilogy had no plot. Beauty, who didn't really have the opportunity to develop a personality, was passed around from guy to guy, throughout the entire trilogy. She claims to have developed feelings for one guy or another, but doesn't even remember their name after she is getting screwed by the new guy. Beauty doesn't appear to have feelings, and is only a piece of *** for one guy or another.

While I think it is part of everyone's fantasies to be dominated, this is very unrealistic and a cruel way to imagine sex with anyone. It made me imagine that everyone was piece of meat, guys and girls, and when they "aged" out, they would be chewed up and spit out.

The only reason I kept reading is because I thought it would get better. It didn't. Waste of time and money.....maybe the store will buy them back?

This is my favorite of the Beauty series. The story is powerful and captivating. And I think even someone who has never found the BDSM lifestyle appealing could find understanding and enjoy the rich emotion in this book. However, I do have one complaint. I felt there was too little about Beauty in this book. At least, I felt like it ended to abruptly. I wanted to know more about how things turned out.

I loved this whole series! If you liked Fifty Shades of Grey, this is like that book on crack! Definitely not for someone who is offended by extremely sexual situations, S&M, and other fetish subjects.

I don’t understand why the author’s description of these books is compared to 50 Shades! I can’t believe I wasted my money on this trash. These books have nothing to do with erotica but has everything to do with torture, sadism and humiliation. Perversion isn’t the correct word to use here I just wish I knew a worse word to use to describe the degradation these characters had to endure. It is horrible and save your money!

This audio is very abridged. Many key scenes were left out. The section where Laurent tells Beauty about serving Lady Elveria is completely left out, and Lexius is left in the garden when Tristan and Laurent are taken to the ship by Nicholas and the Captian.

i have the whole (sleeping beauty trilogy) set by a.n.roquelaure - aka ann rice - they are the most strange and erodic books i have read - classic ann rice, the way she uses words to describe the way her body is and the way the prince has sex with her. - well the rest you will have to read - don't want to spoil it for any one who has not read the books - but i will tell you i have read all 3 books twice - the are wonderful in there own way - i can say that ann rice is up there with the master writers like poe, twain, king, and dickenson, all are wonder but ann has a flair for words, that whats makes her books stand out - to me anyway

I will not order anything from this vendor again. She shipped my order out later than she was supposed to and then didn't email me back when I asked when she was going to ship the product out! I also ordered the book that appears in this picture and the one I received looks nothing like it.

The third installment of Anne Rice’s (writing as A.N Roquelare) “Beauty” series, is, appropriately, an interwoven tale of the lives of three slaves; Beauty, Laurent and Tristan. All three have been captured from their kingdoms and sent to live with the Sultan, along with other slaves that were mentioned periodically throughout the other novels in the trilogy. The re-introduction of the defiant slave Laurent is the main focus of this novel, however, and the plot centres on Laurent’s life as a slave, his capture, and his defiance of all authority.
Rice ties up all loose ends in her final novel. A reader is satisfied with the outcomes of all of the main characters, although the ending comes with its own share of surprises, as the characters come into themselves and discover their true passions. The writing of course, continues to be highly erotic, and Rice pulls no punches and makes no excuses for her outwardly sensual prose.
The characters are more likable in this novel, as they are less meek and timid, and they each come into their own and begin to grow comfortable in their own skin. They are almost enviable in their level of comfort with themselves. The creativity in Rice’s writing stands on its own, as always, and is incomparable to no one.
I am excited to read Rice’s just recently released fourth novel, as I am extremely curious as to how this plot line will continue.

This final installment in the Beauty series begins where book 2 left off. Beauty, Laurant, and Tristan have been kidnapped (slavenapped?) and are on a boat to the Sultan's palace. At the palace, Beauty becomes enamored with a certain female. Laurent explores his dominant side. And Tristan arrives heartbroken yet finds himself not wanting to be rescued. I won't spoil the ending. If you've made it this far, you deserve it spoiler free. While I really liked the ending of this book, it was my least favorite. I felt it dragged on and I was bored at times.

Beauty's Release is the continuation of The Claiming of Sleeping Beauty and Beauty's Punishment. This series should be read in order. My review for Book 1 may be found here and my review for Book 2 here. This book is for the true erotica reader. This is classic erotic literature. And HORROR.. This is not for those dipping their feet in the Fifty Shades pool. Be fair warned.

Rating Legend:
5 star-loved it
4 star-liked it
3 star-it was okay
2 star-didn't like it
1 star-hated it

Beauty has been kidnapped by enemy soldiers along with a handful of other slaves to be taken across the sea to a Sultan.

**Spoilers, sorry.**

Beauty’s Release is the third and final installment of Anne Rice's Sleeping Beauty Series and my first book by Ms. Rice.

Over the last few years since 50 Shades of Grey I’ve heard much about Anne Rice’s erotic romance rendition. Well, I really wanted to like the book, but stopped reading a third of the way.

I’m no prude. In fact I write sensual romance with descriptive sex, but some of the scenes in Beauty’s Release are downright degrading. Men and women are caged, made to walk on their hands and knees, women are slapped across their faces for backtalk, and rape to add to the list. To me Beauty’s Release was more a story about physical and emotional torture.

Now, I believe Ms. Rice writes well; her prose is classy and titillating, I just didn't find the story sexy.

I give Beauty’s Release two stars.

This piece is as beautifully written as the first in the series and if you enjoyed the first, you'll enjoy this one even more. There are a lot of very good scenes, descriptions, and glimpses into the thoughts of characters other than Beauty. My only issue was one very short scene that impeded on my own personal tastes; however, I still give this book and the series 5 stars.
I have read the 50 Shades series and, honestly, it wasn't at all a BDSM book to me. It was very soft-core and hardly hit on any aspects of the lifestyle and when it did, it glamorized and idealized them. This one definitely does the lifestyle justice though. For the people that comment on how disgusting and disturbing this series is, they've had their views of what BDSM is completely skewed by 50 Shades and obviously weren't really into the idea of true BDSM to begin with. Yes, this series does take it to the extreme and yes, it is somewhat slavery-esque, but it's also very erotic and arousing to those of us that truly enjoy the lifestyle. If you're looking for something like 50 Shades, this is most likely not the book for you. If you read 50 Shades because (like me) you thought it would be a good piece of BDSM and were very disappointed, then you'll definitely enjoy this.

If I could I would give this book additional starts. Five just don't do it justice.
What a marvelous ending. *shivering*
In a few words, Beauty and friends are stolen from the village and end up in a mysterious place where the slave idea is a whole different concept.
Very intriguing, by the way, the vast new world to which we are introduced. What transpired withing the castle walls was hot, depraved, and addictive. I too cried when the characters were stolen once again and ended up back in their own land. It left me longing for more. But at the same time I was happy to read about the captain of the guard once again. *purring*
And I was very dissapointed after the turn of events in the Nicholas/Tristan story. Luckily the end brought back happiness to them and to me.
I guess at the beginning Laurent just didn't seem to Interest me. But he was such a little devil the whole book that he ended up my fav character.
I loved the end. And they way freedom knocked on their doors. But I kept hoping to hear about that beautiful girl with the violet eyes. Can't think of her name. Inniana I think. She deserved a HEA too in my opinion.
Anyway, I love you Anne Rice.

In book three "Beauty's Release" Beauty is kidnapped by the sultan's henchmen and stolen away in the night to a far off foreign land that is nothing like anything she has ever known. Not knowing what to expect, Beauty found the new land enticing because everything was so different including how they managed their slaves. Beauty was kidnapped because she was the cream of the slave crop and the sultan had worked out a deal with the Queen that he was allowed to steal only the best. Since Beauty was one of the best you had better believe they would use her like the best slave that ever hit the block.

As I have stated before this series is too graphic to go into much detail here. What I can say is I am glad I read it and I was satisfied with the conclusion. It was worth it in the end just to find out what happen to Beauty.

Best one of the series. Wildly imaginative on Rice's part, honestly before reading this series I never would have guessed how dark Ann Rice could be. It does all make sense now that I look back on the Vampire Chronicles. I see the dark underlining that was fully exposed in this series. If you are interested in giving this wildly erotic series a try please keep in mind it is very S and M style and very graphic with sex and violence. I checked this book out at the library.
