I really, really enjoyed this book. But, please pay attention to all reviews that stress the editing problems. I do not understand how a book can get published with as many errors as this book contains. It took me much longer to read the book having to go back and reread the parts that were not punctuated correctly or edited properly. That being said I really feel it is a good book and I do highly recommend it; just be prepared for the editing problems. I rated this book 5 stars for the story; 0 stars for the editing. Happy reading everybody.

"What a nice surprise this book was! Downloaded this book for some summer reading at the beach and truly enjoyed it...I felt the ending could have been better....although the epilogue filled in, I think another chapter would have flowed better...I will definitely read more of Nora Carroll's work."

........I enjoyed this connective story of past and present family dramas. The insertion of the title -- or extraction of the title, whichever way you choose to look at it -- was appropriate and fitting as most of the story centered around a house overlooking a lake........I would read more books from this author.
A treasury of watercolor secrets discovered through decades of painting and experimentation :: Experimental Techniques for Achieving Realistic Effects :: and Storytelling in Color - A Guide to Drawing :: Painting Watercolors (First Steps) :: The Devil You Know (Children Of The Mountain)

A satisfying story with twists that keep you interested from start to finish. What a treat to find a writer who can draw you into the characters lives like Nora Carroll does. To me she should have expanded on the finish a little bit more, but that's just me being picky. I give it a top star rating.

I loved reading this book and hearing the stories of young love. I got to a point that I didn't want to put it down - I wanted to find out what happened.
I agree with some of the other reviews about the numerous typos and using the wrong words, but all in all, I really enjoyed it.

Hemingway Point is my favorite kind of book: atmospheric, multi-generational, gorgeously-written.
After her grandmother's death, Jess Carpenter returns to the rambling cottage where she spent summers as a girl. Initially uninterested in keeping the place, which she has inherited, she soon finds herself caught up in nostalgia, and starts digging for family secrets. The narrative switches between this story and that of Jess' grandmother, giving readers a view of the cottage in current times as well as in the 1920s. Nora Carroll does a fantastic job bringing the 20s to life.
I loved this book. A little romance, some mystery, and beautiful sentences. What's not to like?
Highly recommended.

It was a great read, a little confusing remembering who was connected to whom, but that was the story. The characters were well developed and so was the plot. Things are not necessarily as they seem. You can read about the story elsewhere, but read it!

This story is one on love and family secrets which were found out towards end of story. Jess, whom was main character, had to find out about her past and learn the hard way who her real family was, even though it was painful. A good story.

A different type of story with interesting historical settings and people from an earlier era. The main character was well woven into the unfolding of family secrets. There were several love stories presented, most had confused, tragic outcomes.

The author jumps from character to character and from era to era leaving the tale disconnected.
Also the psychology of the single character is not consistent.
I liked the idea that a little girl with a wild mother found support and structure in her grandmother

Overall I enjoyed this book. There were several typos, which drive me crazy. But if you can get past that its a good story. I particularly enjoyed the story being told through the eyes of the different main characters, and through the different years.

I loved this book. Wonderful story and kept you guessing throughout. Twists and turns that were never expected. The end came to abruptly for me, I wanted it to last a little longer. Bad editing and some typos.

I enjoyed the book. It took place in northern Michigan, of which I'm very familiar with. It was a little bit hard to keep track as to who was doing the "talking". There were a few surprises in this book.

I enjoyed this book very much. It was an emotional tale taking place over the course of many decades. The author handled the transitions between time, place and character very well. I recommend this book and will look for more by this author.

When I started reading this, I was a little unsure. But I pushed myself through and am so glad I did. This was a really good book. Loved the way it had Jess as an adult and her story as a teen, as well as bringing Mamie into it.

Wow! Beautifully written. I was totally lost in this one..felt as if I was there with each of the characters, the way everything was described, from the walks through the woods, inside the house, on the lake, etc. Liked everything about it. Would definitely recommend this one.

Engaging story about past and present love affairs. Well thought out, beautifully written and an engaging read that leaves you feeling a wee bit happier than , perhaps, you were before you read it. Don't miss!

I found the story slightly convoluted but very interesting. This is a very well written story, not at all a simple summer romance. The characters are nicely developed. I will look at more of yhis author's work.

I loved this story! Felt it was the perfect summer read. The characters were well developed and the suspense of not knowing the secrets of Mamie kept me intrigued the whole time. The only thing lacking was a better ending. It felt rushed and choppy. Like it was a last minute after thought.
