So, i read it because my friends were talking about it. So i thought i will try starting from this and it definitely isn't that erotic that it claims to be. Really short, waste of your money to buy it when you can simply download a free pdf.

It feels like a rare jewel I've stumbled upon with Sylvia Day's new series. She's put a refreshing spin on my favorite things to read about: vampires, lycans, and angels. Other reviewers have gone into detail. I will only add that if you've read her work before, you will not be disappointed. If you happen to be new to her work, you've found your new favorite author.

Very good writing, granted, BUT Totally misleading, yes is free but it is just a sample, you will get pulled into a story that offers no end, almost disrespectful, I expected more from this author... Sad really.

Prequel to Sylvia Day's new Renegade Angels series. Sentinels are angels who are on Earth to watch over the Fallen, fallen angels turned vampires as punishment for falling in the first place, who in turn police over those mortals who have been turned. Raze, a Fallen, heads on over to Chicago to clean up a mess some turned mortal vampires have caused. Here he meets Kim and so the love fest begins.

Nice short. Definitely makes me want to read the rest of the series. I just didn't like how it ended. It's definitely open ended but yet unresolved. I would hate to think I won't see the Hero/Heroine in the series again. I totally enjoyed the spin on fallen angels being turned into vampires and hope that there is more background given in the full size novels. All in all it was a nice believable read which had me intrigued until the end.

Love this talented author so I hope the rest of the series is great.

Since I'm new to Sylvia Day, and since this was free on the store, I figured it might be a good one to start with. Nope!. The story did nothing for me. My taste for PR was inspired by reading J.R Wards "Black Dagger Brotherhood" which I believe sets the bar a little too high for others to follow. Will probably try a different genre by Ms. Day

He thought love was not to be for him. He hadn't found it before, like the others. Now she walked into his life, just like that. Great story! Engaged me from the first page. Hadn't read about fallen angels before. Loved it!!!!

Jacked up action straight out of the box. Pulls you into their world immediately. Terrific mix of kick ass drama with steamy sex appeal without overdoing either. It does leave you hanging, which makes me think that this is an excerpt from a bigger story that's been cut down for a freebie because you will definitely want to purchase the sequel.

I can't fault the writing or the characters or the plot. I enjoyed the story. However, I read a romance to read the HEA of the Hero and heroine. What I object to is saying a story is FREE when the H/h relationship is not finished in the story. Now I HAVE to buy more to see how it ends. I object to that marketing ploy and won't buy more because of it. That is not a FREE story. It's a FREE sample of a story.

This prequel to the Renegade Angels series made me want to read more. The main character Raze was not only sexy but interesting. The pace was pretty fast but I never felt like I was missing anything. The story was well-written and even though it ended too soon, I wanted more so I immediately bought the first book and I am looking forward to eventually finishing Raze and Kim's story. I recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a great paranormal read, but be aware, it is a prequel so it is short and leads into the series. I will definitely be reading more Sylvia Day :)

This book got me started and I have since read all of the Renegade Angle books. It was different from anything I had read before. You do have to use the guide provided to know who is what and how they are related. But the characters are well developed and the story was fun and entertaining. I warn you -- you will get hooked.

This book was hot and a good read. It kept me interested in the characters and what was going on. I hope that she keeps writing this way. I have read her other books and they are great too. Some are too short and I will not purchase unless they are going to be free.

I suppose since this was a free book I shouldn't complain huh? Well, this book is really good, but just as I really started to get into the plot and the characters it was over leaving me wonder what's going to happen with them next? So all in all the book is very good, you will just be disappointed when you get to the end and it's just over, guess I'll just come up with my own conclusions.

Great concept good story line BUT Sylvia Day can't meet a deadlin and this series has too many "novellas" (Seriously???) that takes away from the main story. I do not recommend buying any Sylvia Day books until she has all of the serious out because the woman can't meet a deadline

This is a prequel to a series and the author either expects her readers to have an understanding of all the different supernaturals in this story and their relationships or just doesn't care. It was difficult to initially figure out what was going on with the "fallen," the vampires, and the lycans. Other than the confusing relationships between the different species, you've got a pretty standard "one night stand turns into something more" story.

I have no particular urge to check out the rest of the series -- it felt like something I'd read before.

Good start to a book but it seemed to be left incomplete. Not sure why any author would do what Sylvia Day did here. I have read some of her other books and found them fascinating but this one definitely leaves a lot to be desired

Just when it's getting good it ended. Now how long a wait before the next book. The rest of the story. The first book is not even about them. Who does that? I enjoyed the story though and I look forward to reading the rest.

I enjoy a little erotica as much as anyone, and I have read that this author is quite popular, but I'm sorry to say that after trying to read 2 pages of this nonsense I gave up. It is so badly written that I cannot understand why anyone would continue further with it. I could tear my hair out trying to find words to describe how bad this thing is.

My only complaint was that it was not longer. Sylvia created a world of vampires very different from what is out there. And of course, the scenes are sensual. Can't wait to read more about this world!

Great book but stupid ending! It's one of those books that leaves you with a cliff Janet and wanting more. I also thought the book was too short of a read for this type of series. Over all great book!

I did not read this book because I do not like vampire stories. When I found out it was a vampire book I deleted it from my kindle. Sorry. I guess I should have done more research on the book before I ordered it.

Ooo this one was so good! I loved the set up of fallen angels being cursed with vampirism and having to hunt down the unruly rogues in their mists. It was a nice little twist on angels I don't think I've read...exactly. Plus some great characters and a nice bit of animosity with their Angel counterparts too which was interesting. All things I can definitely get behind.

I really liked both of the main characters and the connection you could feel between them. Kimberly's bold and knows what she wants and Raze pretty much has his world rocked, just a bit, by her. They're both looking for an escape from their lives and find that in each others arms. You'd think that would provide for an incredibly sexy read, especially with that cover!, but really it was kinda tame in that department. Lots of sex was had but mostly it was the fade to black variety.

There's excitement and some action to the storyline that's a little gory but is balanced out nicely with the developing relationship between Kimberly and Raze. I think it's all a pretty great set up for the series to come.

Overall I liked it from the characters to the actual writing but damn if I don't hate relationship cliffhangers and oh holy hell these two got a relationship cliffhanger. I really wanted to throw my Nook there at the end because the novella ends but... not really? Since their story will continue further down the line in the series. Hate that but it makes sense for where their relationship is and the fact that they need time to deal with certain things. But damn I would have liked to see where things went right away. I am one darn impatient little reader ;)

A Dark Kiss of Rapture is the prelude to A Touch of Crimson and the rest of the Renegade Angel series. I really enjoyed the idea behind this book: fallen angels turned vampire! Such an original thought.

Raze is a smoke'n hot fallen angel vampire. He has had a tough couple f days of hunting, fighting, and killing and needs to unwind.Raze is looking for a quick, rough (straight to the point) one night stand. But, he is drawn to bar that isn't like his usual haunts and immediately finds the type of woman he is looking for - the bartender.

Kimberly is having a few drinks with her friends after work. She has never done anything reckless or dangerous in her life. She is cautious by nature, having grown up in a home full of cops. But when she sees Raze, she becomes bold and knows that he is exactly what she needs to take her mind of a recent tragedy. Now, all she has to do is convince him that she is the girl he wants.

Raze can tell just by looking at Kim that she is not his sort, but he can't deny his instant, intense attraction to her and decides a night with her is better than a quickie in the back ally with the bartender he had been chatting up. Naturally, neither of the main characters expects their one night of passion will change their lives.

This was a quick read, filled with excitement, heat, and unexpected tender moments. I thought the characters matched well and wished that the book was bit longer. However, it did its job and I'm definitely going to purchase A Touch of Crimson Renegade #1. I'm really interested to see what Ms. Day is going to do with this series and all the characters that she has introduced.

He is content with his life and the transient pleasures that flow through it... until one night and one woman change everything.
Kimberly McAdams is smart, beautiful, and wealthy. She can have any man she wants, but the moment she sets eyes on the lethally stunning Raze she knows he's the man she needs. As one searingly erotic night burns into something deeper and far more vital than either of them expected, an adversary from Raze's past sees a chance for revenge. Twisted by hatred, she will take from Raze what was taken from her--the precious gift of love.(less)

The Review
I enjoyed this book it was a great introduction in to the world of the renegade angels, it tells the tale of Raze and how by chasing the fallen and Baron, he finds true love, Raze was the worst of the fallen angels, all the others fell for love but not Raze, he just has an insatiable lust, he thinks Kim is good for a good one when he meets her in the bar, he soon realises that will change, I loved the world that Sylvia Day has invented here, I would love to live in it, especially with Raze, That man is just perfect in everything he does, Can you Please send him my way, I would put this on a par with The Brotherhood by J.R. Ward but with Angels, I can't wait to read the rest of the Renegade Angels series, I would highly recommend this to everyone I know, I will be getting the others as soon as I can 5/5

Dark Kiss of Rapture
Reviewed by Francesca & posted at Under the Covers Book Blog

I had gotten this as a Kindle freebie a long time ago. Of course I didn't know that this was the prequel of the Renegade Angels series. I read an ARC of book one last year and I when I started reading my ARC of book two I realized that this was the prequel and had been sitting on my Kindle app patiently waiting to be read.

So I started it almost at the same time as I started reading A HUNGER SO WILD, and I have to say that I enjoyed it immensely because the characters in this short story are also part of that book. I'm not sure if I would've cared as much for them without the background knowledge.

Having said that, this was a great little story. Raze is one of the Fallen but he didn't fall for his love of a woman. He just enjoys sex...with anything female. But a dead body at his doorstep puts a bad ending to a night of enjoyment for him and brings him to investigate in Chicago.

Chicago where he meets Kim and she is everything he thought he would never want. But he can't stay with her when there's so much danger around him. Theirs is not a HEA but a To Be Continued. I can't wait!

A Dark Kiss of Rapture by Sylvia Day
Renegade Angels Novella Book .5 (Prologue)
These books are about fallen angels, not only do they lose their wings but they are cursed to be vampires as well. Raze is one of them. He had never experienced falling in love and he is one of the biggest womanizers. It is all meaningless to him. Just a way of getting what his body needs; sex and blood. Until he goes to Chicago on a mission and meets Kim.

Kim sees Raze walk into the bar and feels drawn to him. With a father and brother on the police force she can tell the look of a man who is in law enforcement of some sort and has just had a bad day of it. She convinces him that the sexy bartender is not for him...but she is. Neither expect that what was to be a one night stand...leaves them wanting more...much more.

The first full book of this series is A Touch of Crimson, book 2 is A Caress of Wings and book 3 is A Hunger So Wild. There was strong language in the book but it wasn't as sexual as it seemed it would be. Sylvia did a great job of tying of some loose ends but leaving enough untied that you wonder what will happen next. This is a free ebook.

**Sexual situations and language.

This is a great little prequel to Sylvia Day's Renegade Angel series. I actually read this one after A Touch of Crimson and was able to enjoy it quite a bit.

Our hero is Raze, one of the vampires/ Fallen Angels. As part of their leader's inner circle, it is his job to police the minions created by his people. Often, when one of the Fallen tries to turn a human, he meets less than ideal results. Raze must make sure the minions aren't doing too much damage to humanity or acting in a way that will expose their existence.

As the story begins, someone has left a dead body on Raze's doorstep, which sets him on a mission to find the minion responsible. His hunt takes him to Chicago where he meets Kim, a gorgeous human who approaches him for a one-night stand. It's what they think they both want... what they both need. But they end up with a deeper connection that neither has ever felt before.

I liked it. It was obvious in A Touch of Crimson that the Fallen Angels were not cookie-cutter villains. And here, we see them even more in their element. They are flawed, but they are not all evil. They want love and happiness and normalcy. Raze has never had that and I like watching him get his first taste of that with Kim. (The sex is pretty hot too.)

The story is short and the ending is only a HFN, but I'm okay with that. In fact, I'm really glad Day didn't rush them into I Love You's.

Worth reading for fans of the series or anyone who wants to see if these books might be a good fit. You can't beat the price!

3 1/2 stars.

A Dark Kiss of Rapture by Sylvia Day

I really like this series about fallen angels who are vamps. It's best if this series is read in order however I read book 2 first and then I'm back tracking to this one and then on to book 1. Wonderful characters, with some really hot guys and the women aren't bad either.

This story introduces Raze who is a sex them and leave them guy and has no time or inclination for anything else until he hooks up with Kim. Great start to their story and I'm sure it will be a hot one. I'm looking forward to reading the rest of this series.

I thought the book had a good story line and I loved the connection between Raze and Kim. I thought it was a pretty short book though. I finished it in one day. Also, the preview for the next book is for a character in this book that I would probably be interested to read about, but I like sequels to flow with the characters, meaning I would love to read the next book and learn more about Raze and Kim's relationship.

Not long enough to even review. Not sure why authors offer a glimpse of a book then you have to buy the next book to get your teeth into the story. I like Sylvia Day books so would have bought the book anyway and as I've read two Renegade Angels to know I want to read more I didn't need a short version of the story. Please don't waste a readers time Sylvia.

Most books about Fallen Angel's give them free rain with no pressure, but the fact that these Angels have not only the pressure of protecting the human race, tracking down there own kind, they also have to protect there own existence from one of there kind that's still a powerful full fledged Angel, talk about a full plate!, I'm hooked.

this is a .5 book in this series. kinda weird, I've never seen a series with half books before. there was alot of sex in such a short amount of time-which is why most women read romance novels, myself included-but if you want a story you get to start paying for the books. kinda not cool.

I got this book on a whim and I was ever so surprised at how great it was! This book is really action packed, and I loved the battles interposed with sweet, sweet lovin'. Raze was a fun character and I enjoyed watching him go all soft and melty for a lady. I also got a kick out of the diction. The characters are so well rounded and snarky. I really loved it. I just want to know what happens next to them!
