Uncommon Thoughts on Common Things by Robert Fulghum (1993-08-10)

This book contains all the lessons we need to know to lead a successful life. It is a reminder that we learned long ago the lessons we need in Kindergarten to be successful at whatever endeavor we choose. I recently used those lessons with my high school graduating seniors. Time with a good book is remembered. When I teach, I use examples from Robert Fulghum's books to make points. Everyone can relate to his descriptions on human nature and life’s funny “things.” The author treats with humor and insight; “why we do the things we don’t want to do, and don’t do the things we want.” To me, it’s a practical insight into what is meant in Matthew; “Take therefore no thought for the morrow… Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.”

You can always count on Robert Fulghum's books to be a good read. Truth, wisdom with a touch of humor. It is true, if our world would embrace the "kindergarten principles" then this would be a much better world.

Robert Fulghum has protrayed numerous lifetime experiences in a most relaxed and humorous way. 2 to 3 page human interest vignettes are told in warm, sensitive tones that helps each one of us to identify with him Heart-warming and engaging, you will find yourself laughing out loud and feeling glad to be alive !!

This little book is full of wisdom and is written for easy reading. A joy to have in my library and refer to often. I highly recommend it! The author comments on life through simple experiences he's had and thoughts on each. It's full of short little stories that everyone can relate to.

My favorite book yet. I have owned this book many times over and always get a thrill when reading it. it is a book ou will et lost in and will want to keep reading til the end....then will want to read it over and over again

Robert Fulghum reflects on everyday life with humor and a unique way of thinking. Moments we should take time to revisit so as not to miss the message hidden there. His stories share personal insights to life with meaning.

This essay puts into the simplest terms the rules which all should live by. If we stopped to think about it, we would all be happier if we just remembered the happiest times of our lives and thought about what made them such good times. This book makes us stop and think. A true lesson for all.
