I really enjoyed reading this book it had so many emotions and the different ideals about what's a acceptable relationship is. Drace and Lucian are both Alphas from enemy clans who some how got accidentally throwing together as bond mates now there on a quest to find a Pure One to help them sever the bond. Never expecting on this journey that there lives were never going to be the same again. Overall a enjoyable and entertaining read looking forward to seeing what going to happen next in the series.

Having read the first three books in this series, I was eager to volunteer to review an ARC of this latest installment in the AMI (Alien Mate Index) series. I had nothing better to do and since the author consistently bats home runs on all of her books, I couldn't wait to read this one.
I could hardly put it down and devoured it in two big bites! While there are several entries in her Kindred series about the Twin Kindred, this was a totally different twist on the ménage trope. Unlike the Twin Kindred (even the reluctant pairs), there's no tie from conception. Instead, 2 males find each other and become Bond mates. They then seek out their one woman to unite them all. Pretty cool...unless you bond with someone your society & family will deem inappropriate. Things ensue as if "Guess Who's Coming to Dinner?" mashed up with "Romeo & Juliet/West Side Story", without the singing and dancing parts, violence/deaths of family members or suicidal teenagers/buzzkill bummer ending. All the drama with a positive ending.
Much like the TV show "MASH" was set during the Korean War but was really commenting on the Vietnam War, moving the story to another planet allows the author to incorporate some social commentary on the wrongness of the closed-minded ideas many people have regarding who it is okay to love. The concept of the Alpha/Beta being ok but Alpha/Alpha not being okay closely mirrors our own society and how many people view same-sex marriage.
While doing so, her point is made and done so it's not an overt political statement about same-sex marriage. It's pointing out that unless someone is IN the relationship, no one really has the right to question it. What's good for one doesn't have to be good for all...nor does it have to make sense to anyone other than those involved. What others do shouldn't be fodder for scorn, ridicule or judgement. The way this is done is more allegorical...and perhaps others may not agree with my assessment, which is their right. This is how I interpreted it and may not be how someone else interprets it.
If it's not your cup of tea, you don't have to drink it. You don't have to like tea, you don't have to understand it nor do you ever have to buy tea. But tea exists and if some people like it, that's their right to do so. Therefore, translate that to any relationship. If it's not how you want to live, then you have no obligation to do so...but you also don't have the right to dictate to someone who does live in a different way. If it's not hurting you, why does it matter?
We can't expect others to allow us the freedom to live how we wish if we don't grant that same freedom to others. You can't expect to get respect if you can't give it...and even if you don't agree with the choice, it's really not dictating your own choices, is it? If you don't want a same-sex marriage, don't get one. People could be so much happier if they lived their own lives and didn't try to live the lives of others as well.
Anyway, there were some twists and turns that I didn't expect but also thought really made this entry into the series pretty distinctive and ultra steamy. There were a few surprises that basically turned a small brushfire into a roaring inferno. The heat level on this one was Ghost Pepper hot! I'm not going to give away the goodies, that wouldn't be right...but man....you may experience some hot flashes (or "personal summers") while reading this one. *fans self at the memory*
The ending wasn't as conclusive as many of her other books (in all her series), but it wasn't a bad ending. Readers are introduced to a few more of the "12 Peoples" that indicate foreshadowing into subsequent entries to the series.
If you've been following the AMI series, this one is sure to keep you interested and waiting for the next installment. I'm glad I volunteered to read this one. The only complaint is that each entry is sure to become my "new favorite"! That's not really a terrible problem to have, all things considered. I will be very ready to see where this series goes next...if this volume is any indication, the heat level is sure to rise again!

This is one smoking hot alien romance book! Severed is book four in the Alien Mate Index series. Readers were treated to a glimpse of Lucian and Drace in Book 3 letting us know their story was coming. It was worth the wait.
Drace and Lucian are two alpha males that accidentally get psychically bonded. Males on their planet do bond naturally, but only an alpha and a beta. Two alphas bonding is unheard of and “wrong” on their planet. The only solution Drace and Lucian can fathom is breaking the bond and going their separate ways. They have to travel to Earth to find just the right person to break their bond.
Rylee has had a long day and even longer night by the time Drace and Lucian enter the picture. They abduct Rylee to save her, but to her it’s all a dream until she wakes up on their spaceship. After some negotiation, Rylee agrees to help Drace and Lucian do what ever it takes to break their bond.
Their journey is fraught with danger, eminent death, and prejudices that threaten to tear them all to pieces. Along the way somehow they learn to work as a team. Rylee falls deeply in love with both men and Drace and Lucian treat her as a special treasure. The problem that remains throughout the whole story is the bond between the two men. Will they be able to sever the bond? Will they be able to walk away from each other and Rylee?
Severed is filled with action, adventure, a few plot twists, and plenty of romance. As a reader, Rylee, Drace, and Lucian are characters that will stay with you for a while. They are easy to connect to and even easier to like. Rylee, Drace, and Lucian’s romance is scorching hot and this book will have you on edge as their story unfolds. Along the way we are introduced to several new characters and some older characters pop in from previous books. I thought the story ended a little abruptly so I hope that we will see more of all of these characters in future books.
I highly recommend not missing Severed: Alien Mate Index Book 4 whether you are following the series or not this is an entertaining story.

‘Severed: Alien Mate Index Book 4’ by Evangeline Anderson features Rylee, Drace & Lucian. Drace & Lucian are from a planet where relationships happen in 3s. Two males form a psy-bond from childhood and eventually seek out the right female to complete their triumvirate. However, through a cruel twist of fate Drace & Lucian formed an unwanted bond and are now looking for the right female to break that bond. They are from opposing, rival clans so it’s safe to say that there is mutual hatred. They both also happen to be Alpha males which don’t work well for a successful triumvirate.
Rylee appears to be the perfect candidate for the task. The 3 strike a deal that will greatly benefit Rylee after she returns to earth. Ultimately, that is the goal; dissipate the bond with the help of Rylee. It starts out as a quest to get rid of something unwanted but as the 3 go on an interstellar journey things quickly change. Drace & Lucian are both attracted to Rylee and have protective instincts towards her from the beginning. She appears to be their common thread and connects them on a deeper, visceral level.
As always, the author does an amazing job at world building; immersing the readers into these new alien worlds by using vivid descriptions about the alien cultures, food, dress etc.… This was a great read. I enjoyed the dichotomy between Drace & Lucian’s clans and their personalities. I enjoyed Rylee’s willingness to explore her surroundings even though she was so far away from home. The chemistry was very spicy and hot between these 3. I highly recommend this book and every other book in this series and the author’s other works. Can’t wait for the next release.

I voluntarily received and reviewed an ARC for the author.
Evangeline has done it again. I just live all this alien hotness. each of the characters always have their own personalities and never even come close to one another from one book/series to another. Although the Kidred books are my altime favorites, this series is a very close second.
Rylee is having a hard time finding her place in the world, but has just began her own business and is hoping for good results from it. When Drace and Lucian see how she worked with the men on their divorce they decide she's the one they want to help them sever their psy-bond. Unfortunately, neither expect her to be a binding La-ti-zal and that they would become closer than they ever wanted. Through many adventures and horrible experiences with family members, they make it to the location that they will be able to get what they need to sever their bond, but they have to seal the bond completely before they will be allowed to sever it. With the feelings they have for each other, none of them truly want the separation, but they love each other enough to do what they think is necessary for their mates happiness. But is it truly what each of them want? Even after their decision of whether to stay together or separate, things go on a wild twist that I never saw coming. You'll just have to read it to see what happens with the three amazing characters. Thank you for another amazing read Evangeline.

Severed is the 4th instalment in Evangeline Anderson’s series The Alien Mate Index. I have never been disappointed in any of her books, but this book I felt was extra special.
Drace and Lucian are both Alphas from enemy clans that have been accidentally thrown together as bond mates and the only way they can sever this bond is through the beautiful woman from Earth, Rylee Hale.
Together Drace, Lucian and Rylee experience so many different experiences as they go on their journey to sever the bond. They encounter dessert killing animals, families that could be described worse than the man eat monsters that were supposed to be extinct and so much turmoil that you at times wonder if their hearts can survive.
Through this journey they fall in love and have to choose whether becoming outcasts from their own people is worth keeping their bond. Sometimes love really does hurt.
Drace and Lucian are so very loyal, trustworthy, down to earth, brave and god damn sexy! They make you want your very own mate….or two. Rylee on the other hand is also everything any man could want in a female. She is compassionate, loving and brave.
I absolutely loved this book and as usual cant wait for the next instalment. A warning to fans; this book did actually make me cry, something very rare from me. I always feel connected to books I read, but this one took me over the edge. Emotional, filled with erotic sex scenes, truly and amazing read.

Alien Mate Index Book Four.
After being directed to Earth by Charlotte, Drace and Lucian decide on Rylee as the Pure One to break their bond. They watch her separate an Earth couple fighting for a divorce, and know she's the one. Rylee is shocked when her ex shows up at her house, only to be pulled through a mirror with her. She agrees to go with the two men to break their bond, but demands they follow a contract with the main point being - no sex. Rylee begins to doubt her own convictions, but the two men cannot see their situation from her point of view. She cannot understand why the Alpha/Beta relationship cannot be shared.
If you've enjoyed this series so far, this is a new branch of the story. Hopefully the new characters hinted at will find their own HEAs in later books.

I was given this book for an honest review. Well, I can honestly say that your life will be incomplete until you read this book!...Lucian, Drace and Rylee...what a team they make. Evangeline always makes her heroines strong and funny and I love that. Lucian and Drace are hot like FIRE!...and I love that. The story sends me in all directions and when you think you know, you don't. As always, Evangeline takes you there, drops you off and then spins you around!....I love how she writes and her story-telling is AMAZING!!!....

Lucian and Drace have bonded by mistake, and through a medium they've learned that the only way they can part ways, is by finding a Pure One willing to help.
When Rylee's abducted from Earth and turned over to Lucian and Drace she accepts to assist them, but what she didn't expect was the temporary bonding or how much emotions they would share.
When it's time to part ways, will they be able to? Can she give up the love of two Alphas?
PNR Romance, emotions and smutty fluff in an awesome combo. Love this series!

Another wonderful story from Anderson! I laughed, sighed, got angry and cried reading the story of Rylee, Drace & Lucian. It covered so many issues (being different, being brave during uncomfortable situations, doing what makes you happy, and enjoying what you have while you have it just to name a few.). I loved watching the characters grow throughout the story. And wow the mouths on those sexy aliens would thaw an ice queen. Love the dirty talk!

I have read several of Evangeline Anderson's books, both the 'Brides of the Kindred' series, the 'Crimson' series and this, the latest, the 'Alien Mate Index' series. She has created a plethora of aliens with one key factor uniting them, that finding the right partner can overcome boundaries. This one, Severed, was for me the most touching, because it deals with overcoming how 'society' and 'family' might view your choices. Any more detail would be a spoiler.
Two alien males, one human female. A societal norm for them, but one that is the subject of censure on Earth. All combined to make a riveting story which, once again, had me staying up late and waking early so that I could finish the story. Well worth reading definitely.

This book was full of sinful deliciousness. The characters were each others sexy reality come to life. The alien mate index is a series that every paranormal romance lover should read. This book is the latest in the series featuring the Denarins (Two bonded males looking for a female to complete their bond). Evangeline manages write another excellent novel that grabs a hold over your imagination and transports you effectively into its realm.

I really enjoyed the 4th book of this series - more so than the first three. The one thing I did not like about the first three is some of the stupid things the heroine did that ended up getting herself in trouble. This heroine seemed to have a level head on her shoulders and I quite enjoyed it. I would make sure to read the previous three books before reading this one.

After purchasing and reading every single Evangeline Anderson book written, I was thrilled to have the opportunity to be able to read Severed as an ARC reader. What a treat! This book didn't disappoint and was the best of the four. I loved the fact that while it was super steamy and exciting, it was also extremely funny. I love to laugh and cry in my books, and I did both with Severed. I really enjoyed getting to know these characters and they were extremely well developed and I really felt like I was able to get to know them and understand where they were all coming from. The plot was quick, engrossing and moved at a perfect pace. I didn't want the book to end and I hope that Ms Anderson continues with this series.

This was such a fun read. I always enjoy Evangeline's books but this one was really good. Funny when momma walked in on the removal of the poison. Sad during the claw scene and just really sweet. Live the Kindred series but the alien index may just push that to second place.

Rylee is ,a former coworker to Zoe, who then referred Leah for assistance with her divorce. When they met up, there was a mix up with their drinks which led to Tyler drinking after Leah. Uh oh. Leah accidentally transferred her La-ti-zal mono to Tyler.
Drace and Lucian are two Alpha males, that have been linked together. This is not a happy occurrence, because in their society Alphas and Betas are linked to firm a bond and they both connect with the same female to complete their triad. Their current situation is shameful and wrong in the eyes of their people. And neither male can stand the thought of being looked down on for being the Beta in their arrangement. They want the bond gone.
Drace and Lucian crossed paths with Charlotte and Kristoff and were pointed in the direction of Earth to find a La-ti-zal to break their bond. Enter Rylee. Only one problem, her La-to-zal power is to bind. She cannot help them, so the trio make a deal wherein Rylee accompanies them with the intent to help sever the bond and they will return her to Earth afterwards.
The journey is long and full of danger, unhappy relatives, and some fighting among the group. It's hard to fight against what you've been taught is, wrong to pursue your own wants.

I liked Rylee and loved her take charge attitude when faced with abduction by Lucien and Drace. Taken by the huge aliens to sever the bond that accidentally between them. The adventure of a lifetime for all of them. There's danger as there always is when visiting other planets and cultures that you don't know. There's always someone who is against everything you might be trying to separate or even retain. And of course, there's love and lots of sexual tension. But the most significant issue is the challenge of racism and bigotry, not only against the bond that others believe shouldn't have been but between the three races involve, two from the same planet and the off-worlder from earth.
In true Evangeline Anderson fashion, this story is filled with intense action and suspense and erotic twists and turns that take this story from a simple attraction to a raging menage. It was sweet and spicy and sexy, and I loved it.

Severed: Alien Mate Index book 4 is another fantastic journey via the alien mate index that involves Rylee being sought after by two males, Drace and Lucien.
So many emotions and different ideals being expressed about what is acceptable.
The chemistry is flammable and the love knows no boundaries!
A definite must read.
I received an advanced copy. All opinions expressed are my own.

*I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review* I just adore Evangeline's AMI series and the Kindred Brides series before that. Normally I blow through them in a day but I kept getting interrupted but that's quite alright because it drew out the suspense. I knew it would be good and it definitely did not disappoint. I found myself rereading parts just because I needed to see it play out again. It was just that good! I won't post any spoilers though! Now I just need the next one to come out!! Lol

I truly loved reading this book. Although the storyline has some similarities to the Kindred Series, it is definitely one to put on your to read list. It was interesting to read how the author's creativity shows in the development of the characters. These aliens do have a way about them that won't disappoint you. They are sexy and show it. Can't wait for the next book.

Yet another good read from Evangaline Anderson. The book centres on two alpha males, Drace and Lucian accidently bound together and their journey to be severed. Toss in a female from Earth and you have an explosive mix on your hands. Rylee. The book tells of their journey to separate, pressure from Lucian's well to do parents, especially his pushy snobby mother. Who would of thought that a 7ft alien could have a mother so similar to some parents on Earth who will go to any length to obtain a higher standing than the rest. This was the crux of the story. As it goes on you begin to feel the bonding grow between the three of them. I do not wish to add any spoilers to this review. But, there are twists and turns that keep you reading, you don't want to put the book down, nor do you want it to end. Highly recommended. A*****************

Oh my! Oh my! Oh my! As much as I would like to just scream to the entire world, "Read this...Best Sci-Fi Romance Series EVER," then dramatically bring the back of my hand to my forehead and gracefully swoon into a giant quivering puddle, it would be totally remiss of me as a reviewer to not explain why I feel so strongly about this book. I'm totally smitten with action/adventure tales, adore science fiction and love, love, love sexy romance especially when it leans toward the erotic, but when I can find them all in one great book, I'm in heaven! And Evangeline Anderson has delivered the perfect combination of all three in her seductive new Alien Mate Index Series. But in all honesty, I think I've died and gone to alien heaven.... populated, of course, with the alien races of the galaxy along with the twelve peoples seeded by the Ancient Ones from the incredibly imaginative mind of Evangeline Anderson. And folks, it just doesn't get any better than this in the science fiction romance genre! It has everything you could want in a great story including lots of swoon-worthy aliens, heart-pounding danger, gut-wrenching drama, agonizing angst, treacherous cunning villains, laugh out loud humor, sweet seductive romance, sizzling hot passion and sinfully delicious sex. The author does a remarkable job of giving some backstory throughout the book so Severed can be read as a standalone. However, having said that, I highly recommend reading the books in order of their release. It's one decision I'm sure you'll never regret. If you're looking for a fun, sexy romp, this is most definitely the book for you! I'm a fan for life!
Severed is a fast paced, well crafted, exceptionally imaginative and totally unique, full-length standalone science fiction saga filled to the brim with hot as hades space aliens, action, adventure, danger, drama, suspense, passion, romance, angst, steamy dreamy sex, hot as hades space aliens and some of the most nefarious villains I've ever encountered - in any genre. Yes, yes, I know I said hot space aliens twice, but what can I say? They're totally hot! The narrative is beautifully written primarily in the first person with clearly defined his, his and her perspectives. (And no, I didn't make a mistake and type the word his twice.) I was immediately drawn into the story by the three protagonists (and yes, I said three...Hubba! Hubba!), beautiful human paralegal Rylee Hale, and handsome Denarian aliens, Drace Gr'nez of the Claw Clan and Lucian Nx'xis of the Fang Clan. We first met Rylee in Abducted as the work friend of Zoe McKinley, the heroine of the first book of the series. And like Zoe, Rylee is no ordinary human, she's a Pure One which means she originates from Earth, a previously closed planet whose inhabitants have never mixed with any of the other alien races, thereby Pure. But that's not all... she's also a La-ti-zal, a female who has been blessed with very special gifts by the Goddess of Mercy. What kind of gifts? Well, it varies greatly with each La-ti-zal. They can be an opener, a healer, a binder, a goddess, and heaven only knows what else! But one thing's for sure, their abilities all seem to be latent until they leave Earth and meet their mates. Oh my! We first met Drace Gr'nez and Lucian Nx'xis briefly in Descended, Book Three of the series when they visited the royal healer for a consultation after becoming accidentally bonded. They were trying to find a way to break their bond. Naturally, they're both very handsome, very charming, very large, very muscular, very endowed (lol...and I ain't talkin' bout wealth although one of them does seem to have a great deal of money), and ...uh... very attentive to their female! And yes, that's singular, as in one female. Huh? I want two Denarians for mates! I fell head over heels for all three of these remarkable characters. Rylee is intelligent, sassy, hard-working, independent, kind-hearted, and giving who makes her living as a paralegal, but truly wants to become a wedding planner and help join people together rather than play a part in helping to separate them through arbitration and divorce. Drace is brave, brash with a slightly savage edge and a little rough around the edges. Lucian is intelligent, suave and cultured. Both are courageous, loyal, dedicated, and very stubborn Denarian warriors, always ready, willing and able to protect Rylee as well as their bond-mate, even at the cost of their own life. And when Drace and Lucian give their heart pledge to each other and to Rylee, I may have actually swooned! Oops...spoiler but so darn sweet! Despite their misgivings and conflicts, these three characters are absolutely perfect for each other and played off each other brilliantly. Their chemistry was off the charts hot! I found the entire cast of characters to be fascinating, captivating, engaging, sexy and at times, laugh at loud funny. I even loved the villains in this series! (Spoiler...it sounds like one kinda/sorta villain may just get his own book. I guess we'll have to wait and see.) The dialogue is smart, snappy, inventive, well-executed and flows effortlessly. Anderson skillfully combines all of these elements to craft a romantic, fun-filled, seductive sci-fi romp. Obviously, this is not my first rodeo with Anderson. I became a fan last year after she was recommended by one of my favorite authors and it only took reading one of her books for me to realize Anderson is an exceptionally gifted storyteller with a boundless imagination who excels at creating richly depicted worlds with vivid and beautifully detailed descriptions, then populates them with unique, intriguing characters who literally explode from the pages and capture your heart. She also enhances her creation with futuristic technology and jargon that is sure to titillate the minds of even the most hardcore nerds and sci-fi geeks along with outrageously humorous situations and descriptions that are sure to have you laughing out loud. If you're looking for a delightfully entertaining science fiction romance that is sure to keep you glued to your ereader, make your heart pound and leave you completely breathless, then this is most definitely the series for you. Quite honestly, when Evangeline Anderson puts pen to paper, the result is nothing short of magical, which is pretty darn special since this is science fiction and not supernatural. But my point is this, if you’re a science fiction/alien romance fan, then the Alien Mate Index is one super special series you don’t want to miss! But as usual I digress, let's talk about the premise for the series.
Remember, folks, this is fiction, science fiction to be exact, and according to the incredibly imaginative mind of Evangeline Anderson, it was the Goddess of Mercy who created the universe. She then created a race of beings known as the Ancient Ones to whom she endowed the seeds of life with instructions to sow the seeds throughout the galaxy on the planets capable of supporting life. The result was the creation of twelve alien races who resembled her image. But the Ancient Ones had a little-known secret.... there's a thirteenth race also seeded by the Ancient Ones who more closely resemble the Goddess' than any of others on a small blue and green planet that has remained locked for millennia, concealed, protected and cocooned in the safety of its ozone layer....until now. Yup, that would be us, humans from Earth, and apparently, we're very special since our planet has been locked! As a result of our isolation in the galaxy, Earthlings still have the original DNA of the Ancient Ones and have never mixed with any of the other sentient species, thereby giving us our name - the Pure Ones. But now, there's a gaping hole in Earth's security blanket and guess who just gatecrashed the party without an invitation? That would be the Commercians who have set up the Alien Mate Index, an agency that abducts Earth brides for alien males...for the right price, of course. They've hung out the open sign on a space station which is currently circling in low Earth orbit, concealed by space junk. And they're greedy little buggers. No really, they literally resemble worms, three foot tall dark blue worms with multiple arms and legs, and bulging purple eyes on stalks that swivel. Yup, apparently females are scarce in the galaxy and the alien warriors of the Twelve Peoples, also descended from the Ancient Ones, are searching for mates. And Earth girls are easy! lol... No, just kidding, but Earth females are their first choice. And surprisingly, certain Earth females called La-ti-zals are even more special and much more valuable than others. They have been bestowed with varying special latent gifts or abilities by the Ancient Ones. The La-ti-zals are very rare and sought by many. Oh my! Better stay away from shiny surfaces, ladies because you could be next....you could be snatched anytime... from anywhere, sucked right through a wormhole to the Commercians' space station and sold as a warrior's mate... or concubine! Oh dear! So many hot, handsome alien males to choose from but wait.... we don't choose them; they choose us. I guess the real question is not which handsome alien would you choose... but rather who will choose you??? Oh my!
Handsome Denarian warriors, blue-skin Drace Gr'nez of the Claw Clan and green-skin Lucian Nx'xis of the Fang Clan, have found themselves in quite the pickle. They had accidentally become bonded at a clan gathering on Denaris. Normally, that wouldn't be such a bad thing but for these two stubborn Denarian warriors, it may as well be the end of their worlds. You see, they're from rival clans and are sworn enemies. Oops! You see, on their planet of Denaris, they mate in Triunes: one female, one alpha male and one beta male. That's just the way it's done...NO exceptions. It's not socially acceptable any other way. And certainly not between sworn enemies! The one thing they can agree upon is they must find a way to separate their bond. They've been searching the galaxy, trying to find a way to sever their link. They even made a trip to see the royal healer who was no help at all. As a last resort, they visited the Sea Witch who told them they needed a Pure One from Earth to touch them both simultaneously to break their bond. So now, they find themselves on a jaunt across the galaxy to see the Commercians at a space station orbiting Earth. The Commercians are the new proprietors of the Alien Mate Index and have only recently hung out their brand new open-for-business sign. Unfortunately, it seems the only way to procure a Pure One is to buy her through the Commercians. But Drace and Lucian aren't in the market for a mate. It's actually just the opposite since they were trying to separate themselves from each other. But the Commercians don't care! It seems, the only other thing these two can agree upon is the beautiful Pure One, Rylee Hale. But Rylee Hale is not only a Pure One, she's also a La-ti-zal which makes her even more rare and expensive, and there are no discounts for the temporary use of a Pure One. They just need her long enough to touch them both simultaneously to break their bond. They'll just have to bite the bullet, split the cost and pay the full fee. Oh good, one more thing they can agree one.
Rylee Hale is having one heck of a bad day. After an exhausting all afternoon appointment with two squabbling clients, she comes home to relax only to find her ex-boyfriend in her apartment...uninvited. Unfortunately, the cheating loser has decided they should be together and if he can't have her, no one will. He even has a gun! Oh no! Little does she know, the whole scene is being watched by two aliens and to save her, she's transported to a space station orbiting Earth. What? Heck, she had no idea aliens even existed until she lands at the feet of two huge, handsome aliens, one green with blue eyes and one blue with green eyes...completely naked...her, not them. Oh my! And the surprises don't stop there, they just keep on coming! Apparently, they need her services to sever their bond. According to Drace and Lucian, that's the two aliens who bought her, on their home planet of Denaris, two Denarian males join with one female to create a Triune. The three mate (have steamy, dreamy three-way sex) and become linked to each other through a psy-bond. The three then become a Triumvirate consisting of one alpha male, one beta male, and one female. This custom came into practice in their culture long ago as a matter of necessity, stemming from the need to protect the females of their planet who were being systematically targeted and killed by creatures called Kr'awns. Great numbers of their women were lost to the Kr'awn and with no females to repopulate their planet, their clans began to die out. They discovered that the Kr'awns never attacked males, nor the bonded females when they were with a male. By having two males as mates, one could work and the other would always be around to protect their female. All three were psy-bonded which meant they each could sense and feel the other's emotions, always knowing when any of them were in distress or peril. Eventually, evolution came into play becoming an important part of the equation. In order for the female to become pregnant, it became necessary to combine the DNA of two males with one female. Yup, and it had to be simultaneous. Oh my, or should I say ouch! No Denarian male could father a child by himself. Sounds pretty kinky, right? Oh my! They also explained how they had become bonded accidentally at a clan gathering and couldn't possibly be together because they were from rival clans and were also sworn enemies. Sounds reasonable to her and Rylee is always willing to help people. Besides, it's her job. That's what she does. As a paralegal with her own new fledgling business, she arbitrates and helps people to divorce so this should be right up her alley, right. And they agree to pay her. Score! Although she would much rather be a wedding planner and help join people together, so hopefully the money she earns from this will help her change professions. Sounds pretty easy, right? Wrong! Apparently, it's not as easy as they were led to believe by the Sea Witch. The touching thing doesn't work! It seems Rylee Hale is not just any La-ti-zal; she's a Binder and her gift is exactly what you think... she binds. Oh dear! But in her defense, she had no idea she was even a La-ti-zal, much less a Binder. Now she has to accompany Drace and Lucian on an adventure across the galaxy to find a way to sever their bond. Unfortunately, things get even more complicated when Rylee falls in love with both of the big alien lugs, and apparently they have feelings for her as well. So why can't they just fall in love, be bond mates, agree to get along, and live happily ever after? Oh, did I forget to mention that Drace and Lucian are not just any ordinary Denarian males? Oh no, they're both Alphas! What? Two Alphas can't bond with one female. It has to be one alpha and one beta per female. It can never happen. It's not even possible, right? We'll see!
Did I like this book? No, I LOVED it! Would I recommend it? You bet and I am, but only for adult readers since it does contain some exquisitely written love scenes including several steamy dreamy menage a trois scenes. Hubba! Hubba! Will I read this author again? Abso-freaking-lutely! Just as soon as she releases her next book! Was I entertained? Oh my lawd, yes! Once I started reading, I simply could not stop. The pages flew as did the time with my heart fluttering wildly in my chest. I laughed, I cried and several times, I even shook my fists in anger, but by the end, I was happy, satisfied and entertained. My final verdict: Severed is a divinely entertaining science fiction saga filled with danger, drama, action, adventure, suspense, humor, romance and some steamy dreamy sex. I would rate this book ten stars if I could! So, buckle up my lovelies, it’s a wild ride across the galaxy and one I'm sure you will enjoy! Fabulous entertainment and an awesome read!
