I do not have sufficient superlatives to describe Ms. Ward's latest endeavour. The immense suspense, the permeating evil, the terrible trauma and the deep abiding love all make for a novel worthy of ELEVEN OUT OF TEN. The emotional rollercoaster is very real and I suggest you keep a few tissues at hand. The moments of joy and love make this incredible book even more captivating and ensures you don't move any more muscles than it takes to flip the page. The storyline flows effortlessly and is well-paced and extremely well-written. You actually feel as if you are there in person. There is just enough unforeseen action to make it even more interesting.

Again another book that will make your heart hurt. Even though this is just a story the circumstances with Xander's son could really happen and it is such a sad deep subject. Though there is darkness Ms Ward will make you laugh with the actions of the youngest child. You will be furious with the mothers actions and you will fall in love with the princess right along side of Xander. This book contains glimpses of past stories so if you have read the rest of Ms. Ward's books you will be reminded of other great reads. However if you have never read any of her books, you will not feel like you are missing something. This is a stand alone book with a happy ending. Madeleina is the princess of Aldcliff and has been promised to prince Vitalievich. She quickly learns that he is pure evil. How can her father promise her to such an evil man.
Xander is a divorced father of two whom doesn't get to see his kids often. His son Kylian is not doing so good with the divorce and is acting out. But is it just the divorce that is causing is rebellious behavior or is there more.
This is a wonderful story of how sometimes when one door closes it opens a door to something amazing. I absolutely loved this story. We definitely need more from these two!

The beginning of this book goes to some extremely dark places in order to set up the story that is to come. The worst of the darkness doesn’t last long, but it does cling to characters for the rest of the book, so be aware that there are some intensely triggering situations in here. I loved the chemistry and connection between Maddie and Xander. And I absolutely adored Kylian and especially Kenzie. The precocious four-year-old stole my heart as my favorite character in the book. Oftentimes when the emotional load was getting really heavy in the story, Kenzie would do or say something to perfectly break the tension and keep us from going too dark.

WOW, this book definitely pulled at all emotional heart strings. Exquisitely written story covering dark areas of reality but woven together in such a way that the end result makes you happy.

Princess Madeleina escapes a doomed marriage by faking her death. Xander gets sole custody due to unspeakable treatment faced by his son. Kenzie is adorable and made the story a lot of fun. Ceecee was great too.

The description of every scene was so spot on, I had goose bumps. This was an intense read and is definitely a recommended read. It could be a trigger for some people.

WTH is wrong with this Lady Danielle. I would have CASTRATE Mr. Rock star Jet Fort for what she allowed him to do that poor child Kylian. And claimed not to know that was happening right under her nose.... YEAH RIGHT, AND I RUN THE COUNTY. As for the crazy Prince Vitalievich, what was her Father the King thinking, talking about he didn't know..WOW, He was only thinking about that DAMN Boat and the Ch-chang of money. The romance Between Maddie(Like this name for her ) And Xander was exceptionally sweet with Touching Moments, and the heartflet way her and the kids bounded. Especially Kylian when she taught him the Throwing stones excersie. Truly an AWW moment. An Awesome story

Madalyn is a princess. When she discovers that her father has arranged for her to marry an abusive prince she decides to fake her own death. She ends up in New York city. Xander is the newly divorced father of two children Kylian and Kenzie. When he discovers that his son is being sexually abused by his stepfather he takes custody of them from their mother. Madalyn and Xander meet when someone tries to kidnap his daughter and Madalyn is able to prevent the kidnapping. Xander and Madalyn had an instant attraction and amazing chemistry. A great romantic read with lots of drama and suspense. I voluntarily received an advance reader's copy for an honest review.

What an emotional rollercoaster of a story from Alice Ward. I truly don’t know where she gets her inspiration to think up these fantastic plots but I hope it doesn’t stop. This story had a lot going on. Maddie a princess from a small principality who is being forced into an arranged marriage and Xander a divorced father with 2 kids struggling to be a good parent even with all the money he has he finds it practically impossible. This book is full of suspense, trauma, drama, the love of a good man and woman and not forgetting the beautiful kids and dogs. I’m not giving anything away but this is a must read story. I read it in the one go which is unusual for me. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book in exchange for an honest opinion.

Xander is thrust into single dad world when he gets emergency custody of his 2 children.
Maddie was to wed an abusive man. She made her escape.
When Maddie lands in NYC she helps one of Xanders kids from getting taken.
They have immediate sparks. But Maddie is not telling Xander who she is or the danger she may be in. When the truth catches up to her will he be able to see past her lies.
I really enjoyed this book. As always from Alice the book was well written and the story was really good.
There are mentions of domestic abuse and sexual abuse in this book.

A princess escapes to find her own fairy tale ending. I loved this story. An intense and emotional read which brings together two people who ultimately save each other. This story touches on some serious issues but has the comic relief from Kenzie the adorable little sister. Running from her evil betrothed lands Madalyn under the protection of Xander. Loved Maddie's growth, learning basic life skills that anyone other than a sheltered princess would know but yet knowing how to help a child facing personal demons how to cope. Another excellent story from one of my favorite authors. Voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader's copy of this book.

Another fantastic book by Alice Ward! This story was filled with darkness, violence, tragedy, sadness, joy and love. It centers around a young princess escaping a dangerous arranged marriage and finding freedom and love. There is some touchy subject matter that may be a trigger to some and it was definitely emotional and gut wrenching to read at times but it was very well done. The chemistry between the main characters was intense and hot. The kids were a cross between sweet, sad and hilarious at times. The daughter was a hoot and the son was going through something traumatic and just broke my heart! ? it was a really well done story, I loved it!

Another great book from Alice Ward. Highly recommended. Both the hero and heroine need to escape their situations. Xander has just rescued his two children after they were neglected by his ex wife. Maddie was being forced to marry an evil man. They fall instantly in love but have to find their way to a happy ending through many obstacles. Together they build a new family. Loved the chemistry between them and the way they grew together. You can always count on a decent heroine in an Alice Ward book. No “stupid” moments that make we want to throw my reader against a wall. I sat down and read this straight through. Great story. (I voluntarily reviewed an ARC).

AMAZING!!! If you have not read anything from Alice Ward you are truly missing out on some amazing reads. The Escape is another literary masterpiece!!! When I first started reading I could not figure out how Xander and Maddie were ever going to get together but Alice Ward never disappoints on the meeting of her characters. Then the book soars with such emotions and awesome storylines you feel like you are watching a moving instead of reading a book since you simply cannot put it down. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.  I love this book.  I love how Alice had a bit of story from one of her previous books.  I have never been disappointed with any of her books.  Maddie is a princess who was typically sold off to marry a Prince who has multiple wives already which he is hoping she can produce a male heir.  He is a S.O.B. And doesn't care if she doesn't want to marry him it will happen because no one says no to him.   Xander is a millionaire who has taken over the care of his 2 children.  Maddie and his paths cross when she winds up in America and stops a man from kidnapping Xander's youngest. 

I love how you developed both main characters very well and then incorporated their lives together so smoothly. Honestly, when I started reading I wasn't sure how you would do it but it prepared them for each other. From that moment I could not put the book down.
With the silent threat made by the prince to his princess, you just knew he would go far and wide to find her but I wonder will he find her? I also wonder will her tall, dark, and handsome save her from eternal displeasure. It was sexy, hot, steamy, innocent, raw, and an amazing read. Another awesome read by one of my favorite authors. You never disappoint me in your work.

A exceptional storyline that was well developed. Extraordinary characters that go through twists and turns. Xander, Madeleina, Kylian and Kenzie are fantastic together. The sexy chemistry between Xander and Madeleina is combustible even though she’s a virgin. Absolutely loved this book and would definitely recommend. Alice Ward does not disappoint with this story. Amazing story. Loved it. This is well written and will definitely keep your attention. She is a princess and her father expects her to marry a prince from another kingdom and when she begs her father to get out of it he won't let her. She goes on the run. He meets her in the park when she saves his little girl. She has to go stay with them as she looses her purse and all. It is an enjoyable, suspenseful, emotional and so much more story. I was given a review copy and voluntarily review it.

I absolutely loved this book. The connection that Maddie has with Xander, is just the beginning. Alice Ward does a great job at taking on some of the most serious of topics and situations and makes it something so wonderful. In this book, you not only find the love of a man and a woman, but you find the love between a mother and daughter, a dad and his kids, and the love between a woman and the kids of the man that she loves. I loved this book and I think that everyone should read it!

Be prepared to meet maddie and xander. My heart broke so many times and Alice Ward fixed it every time. Maddie (which is the swcond name she took) is a princess who suppose to marry someone who is bad for her life. Through a second chance and a close encounter she gets a second chance. Xander let his ex take his kids and leave and he also gets a second chance when his son starts talking to him. Review can do this book justice it was wonderful, suspenseful,heartbreaking, and made me fall in love with the characters. This is worth the read I promise you.

I really enjoyed The Escape. I was a little confused with the first few chapters. I hadn’t expected Madalyn to have been a princess from a small unknown country. But once the story clicked together for me I got pulled in. I loved. It was different. And I enjoyed Maddie and Xander and Kylian and Kenzie. There were so many great things about this book. It just leaves you with that happy feeling in the end.

This story has a dual storyline of abuse. Princess Madalyn escape from and arranged marriage with an abuser Prince and in the process she saved a little girl from being kidnap. Xander is a single dad who do anything to protect and saves his children. A story fuel of intrigue, evil, emotional crisis and love at first sight. But the past can stay in the past? I really enjoy it and felt in love with Kenzie.

Madalyn is in central park and rescues a girl from being kidnapped but in the process her bag is stolen. Xander is so grateful to Madalyn he offers her a place to stay. This is an emotional read with plenty of drama suspense. The chemistry is steamy and the story really draws you in. I was hooked from beginning to end. I loved it!

OMG. This book made me cry. The characters, the emotion made for a really great read. Xander has kids and wants to get away so his son can heal after what happens to him? Maddie on the run from some evil man she doesn't wanna marry and is abusive. Can these to make a relationship work when their are threats all around?? This book is an emotional hurricane. It's filled with drama, suspense, danger, trauma, love, passion, pain, hope and healing. Xander and Maddie's meeting is random but it sets into motion a romance that neither was looking for. With it's twists, great writing, engaging plot, likable characters and a few you shall hate you will keep turning those pages to discover if a HEA awaits. I'm posting a voluntary, honest review after reading a copy of this book.

Alice Ward outdid herself with The Escape. It was a heart stopper from beginning to end. It was a great love story, full of all emotions imaginable, yet there was also so much more going on in the book. The honesty and innocence of Madeleina(Madalyn/Maddie) was just precious. And Xander, oh Xander! He was so alpha, but so tender hearted and gentle. What every woman dreams of –

I really liked this Intriguing, heartwarming story. “The Escape” by Alice Ward is a really well written, emotional book with lovely characters, Xander & Maddie who have lovely chemistry and interaction that pulled me into their story. I couldn’t put it down. This is a Keep you on your Toes, Must Read, Romantic Story that I would recommend. I voluntarily reviewed an arc of this book. Looking forward to reading more from Alice Ward

I loved this story. It was whimsical, but still had the dramatic elements. I wouldn’t even call them dramatic.. more like heart wrenching. Xander’s son.. my heart broke for him ! That was some Jo Raven stuff right there. Maddie’s mom, and how much she risked for the escape ! I loved the insta-love, but what I liked most is that it just fit. It made sense.

But what really did happen to the bag of jewels ?

Maddie and Xander and their instalove made for a very enjoyable story. My only real complaint was the narrative from Xander about sex with his ex and with randoms. I don't want to read that in a romance. It detracts from his relationship with Maddie and makes it feel less special. The kids were the icing on the cake. They were done really well and added depth and a dose of reality to the book. I definitely recommend it.

I don’t often leave reviews but felt compelled to do so for this novel. From the very first line I was hooked into the story. I felt myself drawn to Maddie and her plight and loved every moment of her journey. I especially was touched by her relationship with Xander’s son and how she played a big part in helping him deal with a horrible situation. I loved the relationship between the two main characters and really loved this book! Some reviews say it was too short or that things worked out too perfectly but I say this is why we read romance novels; to escape (pun intended!) from our own lives for awhile and bask in a happy ending. You won’t be sorry you got this one!!

Wow! I absolutely loved this book. I put it down once only because I had to. Alice Ward knows how to write a great book. Xander & Madeleina’s story has it all. I laughed & cried and experienced so many different emotions with this story. I loved how the beginning tied into “The Choice” (which is also an equally great book). This one is a definite must read.

I loved this storyline. Madalyn knew the moment that her fiancé smacked her that she had to leave, not just leave but die. Xander felt like a failure as a father. But when a beautiful young woman saves his daughter he knew that he had to have her. This book is a steal of a price too, not only does it have The Escape, but it also has not one, not 2 but 4 other full length books by Alice Ward!!

Wow what another incredible story done by Alice this one was about a princess named Maddie she was supposed to marry a prince but he was abusive so her mother made it so she could leave but in all that she makes it to America and runs into a really hot guy that’s a single dad named Xander when she helps him out he might take interest but something happens and her secret could be blown will he be upset?

This was a great read - The balance of drama, suspense, secrets, second chances and romance was great. Maddie and Xander's story was an emotional one - but very well written. The characters are great - I enjoyed the build up and connection they have. The plot was fast paced and developed. Overall a great read that shouldn't be missed. This book really surprised me. The situations that the hero and heroine faced was sad and disturbing. The way that they faced these situations were amazing. The lessons discussed in dealing with these situations were very appropriate. As always, I love the books by Ms. Ward. I highly recommend reading this book.

Wow Maddie and Xander’s story was amazing!!!!!!! I love how it started out with Maddie’s customs and culture reguarding marriages and how it just spun off to a in a right place at the right time romance. I can’t not say enough good words for this bookwith out giving away all of the juicy details!!! So one click and read away!!!!! You will not be dissapointed. This was my honest review!

Maddie and Xander are so well suited and the kids are so cute and to grown up for all the endure in this story. Thank you Alice for touching on these problems that are world wide. This story was so very very good so much detail to bring the story to life. The smallest of details really make this story seem to come to life in my mind. With both of them struggling with issues this book was a page turner. An emotional storyline, good characters and well written.

Never read from this author before. I devoured every book in this collection. Alice Ward is a fantastic author! Ever story is unique. Every story ends in a HEA. The heat is allows on low boil. Until it off the charts.
I would recommend this collection to everyone who loves romance. Now if you will excuse me, I am off to read THE SURPRISE! Lol

Alice Ward has done it again. A beautifully written story about second chances and finding true love. While running from her past, Maddie finds herself immersed in the lives of the Armstrong family. But will it end in a HEA or a tragedy. With a super storyline and characters that you cannot help but fall in love with, this is a must read. I was sorry to see it end.

Great book!! The main characters are both dealing with different types of abuse. Plenty of drama to deal with and lots of chemistry for them; throw in a nasty villain and you have the makings of a great book that you won’t want to put down until you have read the last word! You won’t go wrong with this book!

Escape was fantastic! I loved everything about it! The characters were real and I loved the storyline! It had funny moments and some heartbreaking ones too. I was wonderful! The best part of this book, other than the book itself, was the fact that it came with all the wonderful bonus stories!! Loved them all! Highly recommend this book and this author!

I loved this story! I loved the chemistry between Maddie and Xander. I loved Kylian and Kenzie, they added so much to this story. I really enjoyed the connection Maddie formed with both Kylian and Kenzie, even more than the romance. Ms. Ward did a beautiful job tackling a very difficult subject. The way Maddie helped Kylian was simply beautiful! A must read.

This is a heartwarming story of two people, both coming from horrible pasts, finding love and comfort with each other. The book starts off kinda dark and could be triggers to some, but it does eventually turn sweet. It’s an all around well written and enjoyable book to read.

I end up reading it in one sitting. I need to know what was going to happen next. I can't wait to read more books by Ward. I will recommend this book and author.

A wonderful read from beginning to the end , had me on the edge for a while thinking she would not make it but she did.
He was a father who paid attention to his kids , glad he discovered his sons problem in time. Would love to have found out
if the kids Mom got some psychological help and was able to meet them half way.

The most Amazing story I've read to date by Alice ward! It has the right mix of everything in these sizzling pages. A princess, HOT Daddy, two adorable little ones. Together with a little bit of drama made an exceptional read for me, I couldn't put this book down. Great ending to tie it all up!

A heart-breaking story of a life pre-determined. A young woman given a chance to be free and find her own way in the world.

Madeleina was a princess. A royal life was all she ever knew. Just before her twenty first birthday, it has been arranged for her to marry a prince from another country. She pleads with her father but he refuses. He tells her that it is her obligation.

But the prince is evil and Madeleina knows, but she has no idea how to change her fate. With help, she escapes her country and flees to NYC to begin a new life and find her happiness. She leaves with nothing of her past. The princess that she was had to die, in order for Madalyn to live. She has few clothes and enough money to get started and jewels to sell for a future.

The Escape by Alice Ward was a fantastic entertaining storyline! It is about an arranged marriage to an abusive Prince. What does it take to overcome obstacles and chance meeting to bring two people together. It was very good and I would recommend it. I am voluntarily leaving my honest review after reading this arc.

She wants to escape to live a better life, so what better way than to organize her allegedly death. Xander is a freshly divorced and handsome billionaire who is trying to gain the trust and love of his children. Their worlds collide just when Madalyn has escaped from her past and gone to New York under a new identity. Xander on the other hand, has taken his children away from his ex wife after becoming aware of his son’s sexual abuse at the hands of his stepfather. Their encounter is like a sign from above because she will immediately capture his attention and love. This story is actually more intricate than it may sound. Both characters are trying to escape from something. She wants to just live a normal life and have a family; he, on the other hand, wants to escape and give his son the chance to recover from a distraught situation. Madalyn seems to him just an angel that will heal the entire family giving him a second chance in love. Xander is a loving father who has made some mistakes and wants to make up for the lost time. Plus there is the circumstance that the mean prince is on the loose trying to uncover Madalyn’s apparent death. There is really a lot to take in but the reader won’t remain deluded by this amazing story.

This story has an amazing storyline and engaging characters that you can't help but love, will grab you at the beginning and keep you captivated until the end.
One of those books that you find really hard to put down.

Fantastic read! Loved how Ms. Ward touched on a very difficult issue of child sexual abuse & how Maddie helped Kylian deal with it. The chemistry between Xander & Maddie was Hot but also sweet! This almost started like a fairy tale; the poor princess forced into a bad marriage. Once she got away to New York and met our hero, it became a good love story. There was excitement and scary stuff, but of course a HEA. Read this book–I couldn't put it down.
