You would never know when reading Prophesy that this was the first paranormal romance this author has written. Right from the start of the story, the reader is immersed in a well built world where shifters and vampires are not hiding their existence from humans, and you’re thrown right into the midst of a true mates story that is smack full of passion and intensity. To say I was totally swallowed up into my reading on this one might be an understatement.

One of the things I love about A.E. Via is that she creates amazing, almost larger than life characters—and she’s especially talented at establishing alpha males. Both Justice and Wick have classic protector alpha characteristics, are strong and bold leaders, and can be compassionate or mete out discipline when necessary. They both care very deeply for their respective species, and once mated for each others’ as well.

That passion and intensity I mentioned? You’ll find it in spades here every time Justice and Wick are together, and you’ll also find their yearning when they’re apart. Their depth of feeling for each other once they meet and touch is overwhelming, and that shines through in the writing.

Another thing I love about this author is the strength of the supporting characters in her stories. Prophesy definitely has its fair share of these, from Justice’s family to other packs’ members, as well as to Wick’s guard and staff. They all contribute so much to the story, giving it greater depth and setting up a framework for future stories in the series that I’m already on edge looking forward to reading, in particular with Alek and Bell, and Taleb and Henry.

There’s no shortage of action and tension either, whether from the mating between Justice and Wick, the issue of the rogue shifter pack, or the larger problem lurking in the background of a clandestine group that’s out to capture and study shifters and vampires. With all of that and the amazing “special gift” Wick has (there’s your tease, I can’t say more without spoiling an incredible plot point!), I definitely fell down the rabbit hole reading this story.

5 exciting stars for Prophesy, and I’m highly recommending this story to every M/M paranormal romance fan out there. I can’t wait to see what’s in store for the rest of the series, and I think once you read this you’ll be wanting more too. This story is for readers 18+ for adult language and sexual content.

A Scattered Thoughts and Rogue Words Review (A Lila Review)
Rating: 4.25 stars out of 5

An Enemies to Lovers
Shifter, Vampire True Mates story.

Justice Volkov is the youngest Alpha Zenith to ever lead the wolf shifters. Following in his father’s large paw prints was a responsibility he met head on. Now at age thirty-three, he is alpha of the alphas. As a direct descendant of the original Siberian pack, his wolf is bigger and stronger than Justice, himself is sometimes able to control.

His wolf howled long and hard but Justice kept it inside. It felt like a bass drum beating against his rib cage. The harsh breaths, angry snarls and the determined pacing inside him was overtaking him.

Justice takes his role of leadership and his legacy very seriously. He has little time for romance, not to mention a true mate. His packs are his priority. With a human government trying to regulate them, an uprising of rogue shifters, and a violent team of scientists trying to experiment on them, Justice has his hands way too full.

Chadwick ‘Wick’ Bentley is not enthusiastic when the captain of his escort tells him he has to leave his comfortable London home and go back to the States. As the Vampire King, he has no choice but to get his species back in line before they cause anymore chaos. At over one-hundred years old, Wick is no one to trifle with, but his smooth, charismatic manner makes him quite unique, despite the negative reputation vampires have. Wick has had nothing but time up to this point. He doesn’t feel the need to make issues pressing. Nothing is urgent in his life. Until he meets Justice. His beloved.

“Natural enemies can’t be mates.” Or so Justice thought. He knows his skepticism and rejection is hurting his mate, so while he fights their connection, Wick gets help from a source very close to Justice to help him win his beloved’s heart. Wick is a force all on his own, but when he’s blessed with a special gift from the Mother herself, not even Justice’s powerful wolf can prevent the prophesy from being fulfilled.

Prophesy is a different type of fated mates and paranormal tropes. The relationship between vampires and werewolves is also different. As well, as how human perceive them. Some traditional elements like vampires staying away from the sun, and werewolves sense of smell are present, but the author did a good job mixing them with her own point of view.

I like the way Justice and Wick met for the first time. I wish their trepidation had been a little longer, but it worked. Their relationship is a very slow burn, but the enemies-to-lovers part moves pretty fast. They do take the time to know each other, and in the end, it helps them to bring their worlds together.

This book is character driven. The plot line is minimal, mostly, an introduction to all the characters and fractions. It's not as action pack and her previous books, but there’s enough to keep you reading. Some parts were a bit slow and the world-built took a big part of the story. I enjoyed the details, but I wanted a bit more of a plot.

There's still a lot more to come in this series. I'm hoping to learn more about this world and the new couples. The potential is there and the story is interesting enough to let the reader wanting more.

The author's writing style still evident on the take-action alpha male characters. Overall, it's a nice start to a series.

The cover by Jay Aheer have Justice and Wick. It also gives the reader a small window into their origins.

AE has written her first paranormal story and I think it is a winner. This is a original paranormal story that you have read before.
AE is known for writing strong men and equally compelling stories and she give us the same just in a new genre for her. No one in my opinion writes Alpha men like AE.
In this story we have Justice, a Alpha, who runs the whole shifter population and knows what a big job he has. He has a mission and doesn't let anyone come between him and his pack. Everything he does is in their best interest and to keep them all safe. Justice has a fantastic family that stands behind and supports him. His pack is healthy and happy with him at the helm.
There is some trouble going on with fights breaking out between shifters and vampires and Justice has to go and find out what is going on. While he is there he starts getting a feeling that someone is out there. What Justice doesn't know right away is that his fated mate is close by and when he finds out who is it he is he cant believe it.
Justice doesn't know why the Gods would send him his mate and make it the enemy. His wolf knows what it wants but Justice can't let that happen. He tries to fight the bond but it is too strong.
Now we have Wick, he is the Vampire King and very powerful. Wick also comes to town to find out what is going on with all the fights going on between his Vampires and the Shifters. Wick starts to get a feeling as well that someone is out there. When he goes to the meeting to tackle the problem, he learns the Alpha of the shifters is his mate. Wick is quicker to accept this but he knows he has to earn Justice's trust before anything can happen.
The only thing I would say is the AE should have drawn out the conflict between Justice and Wick a little longer before they gave into the mating bond. I would have liked to see them battle with themselves before they come to the realization that the bond is to strong to fight any longer for the good of themselves and their species. Plus I would have liked to see Wick take control of Justice as well since they are both supposed to be strong leaders.
AE gives us some mystery in the story and I thought it was great. Wick has a secret and when Justice finds out he is floored. Justice can't believe he was given such a gift in the form of Wick.
These 2 men have to work together to ensure the survival of both the Shifter and the Vampires. They definitely have some challenges they have to face but as long as they are together they are stronger and unbeatable.
We also get a sneak peak of the next story involving one of Justice's brothers which sounds amazing. Congrats AE and add another notch in your belt for this one. Reviewed for Alpha Book Club.

Prophesy got all the usual cliche moment for any PNR with both shifters and vampires. The ability to recognize their 'true mate', the possessive declaration of 'Mine!', the insta-love/lust and whatever you expect in a PNR. But it works for me because these are what makes me a fan of PNR and honestly is hard to find a good M/M PNR. They are either too fluffy or too much emphasize on the politics and lack of romance. Prophesy manage to appear serious with emphasis on romance and didn't dwell too much in the politics behind the pack and vamps.

Justice is the Alpha Zenith being burdened by taking care of his packs and the ruddy shifters that causes trouble to the human community. Mating had never been of importance to Justice, but when he finally meet his true mate, even Justice can't deny the true mate pull. As an alpha shifter, Justice is all growly, possessive and kicka$$.

Chadwick aka Wick is also known as the Vampire King. This is one character that is not what I expect. I expect Wick to be all snobbish, cold and unfeeling. But Wick appear pretty easy going and beside of wearing his tailored suits and sucking blood, he seems pretty well adjusted within the shifter community.

I was expecting two alpha males butting heads, but Wick seems submissive to Justice once they had both embrace their destiny. If I were to find one thing that disappoint me in this story, it would be Wick's lack of alpha-ness as the vampire King. I wonder what does his father or his consul think of his mating with a shifter since the entire story we only spend time with Justice's pack. Anyway, since I know that the next book is about a new couple, so I guess Justice and Wick's story is settle with a satisfying HFN.

When I picture the perfect paranormal romance, Prophecy is it!! I cannot think of one second while reading it that I was not impressed beyond words. A. E. Via has always been one of my favourite M/M authors. This just cements it. The creativity was astounding. The talent was mindblowing. The total perfection that was Prophecy is humbling.

Justice and Wick were two very alpha males that won my heart equally and instantly. Their story began with heat and burst into fiery flames of passion, lust and love. I was in a constant state of turned on by this heated tale. I have not felt that in ages. I was front row, with an unhindered view of a perfect and dramatic coming together of two of the most sexiest and charismatic characters I have ever had the pleasure of reading about.

Prophecy has made me a very happy and blessed reader. My happiness was hard to contain, so I let it be known. Books such as Prophecy and authors like A.E. Via just further cement my soul deep love of reading. This may be A.E. Via's first paranormal romance, but it was so perfect and flawless, it seemed like she was a veteran. Words facinate me, and Prophecy blindsided me with its briliance and rugged beauty. This is just the beginning of this series, and the most joyous part for me beside reading the first book, is knowing there is more to come. A class act that will be in my memories for ever. 5 stars

YES, Yes, yes . . . I have to repeat that again and again as I read this one. . . This was my first read for A.E. Via in a while and I can assure you that it will not be the last. I was on hands and knees right along with the rest. This was super sexy, hot, melting panties, sweat pouring off the skin in all the right places. This was supremely delicious.

Justice was the alpha (top-dog-alpha) of his pack(s). He had issues that far surpassed any he had to handle. He had his back covered with three alpha brothers and an empath alpha sister. This was a dynamic family and something was amidst. With diversity comes major issues, conflict, combat, drama, violence, action, and more. In comes the other side . . .

Wick, the vampire king, had to come take care of issue that have escalated beyond local control. To get all this squashed he needs to meet with the head of the pack(s). This must be resolved. The sparks that fly in that meeting are off the chart. This leaves more than one being ducking for cover. Wick and Justice have a lot more on the table than some squabbles among their people. This may also turn in to much more than either shifter or vampire world could have foretold.

The set-up and execution of this new series was very well executed. The details laid out the underlying issues that could be seen for future leads. This was fantastic. I was excited and awed. I am so giddy and excited. I look forward to more from this series.

Prophesy is the first book in The King & Alphas series by author A.E. Via and one of my favorites for 2017! Paranormal romances are fun to read and I especially love the ones with naughty dirty talking alphas, which Justice and Wick are!

What makes this book even more fabulous is that not once was there any disputes over two men being fated mates. The fact that the King of vampires and the Alpha Zenith of the wolf shifters were fated mates was hard for some to support.

The storyline is unique and well developed and Justice and Wick are blazing hot! I loved the banter between the characters and I absolutely cannot wait for the next book to come out!

A fabulous story!

BTW, I must say that I absolutely love the cover of Prophesy! It is so smoking hot!

Prophesy ( the King and Alpha Series Book 1)

Being a huge fan of A.E Via's work ever since I read her Nothing Special series, I was ecstatic to hear about this new series she was bringing us. Justice ( Alpha Zenith) is the Alpha of all Alphas (shifters) and Wick, King of Vampires. Since the Vampires and Shifters are natural enemies and do not get along, you know things are about to get interesting. Loved the world the author created, it sucks you right in. The main MC's go through a lot to bring their packs together to fight against a new threat. They fight hard not only for their packs but to be together. With all the secondary characters that were introduced, I'm looking forward to the next book in the series. Defenitly not so patiently waiting for the next book.

For the author's first time writing in the paranormal realm, this was a very good start to a new series. I liked both MC's, Wick in particular. I really felt for him and what he went through waiting for Justice to accept him as his mate. My main complaint is the lack of details in the resolution of certain conflicts. I'm thinking that maybe the author will expand on them in future installments. Overall, I really like this book and am looking forward to reading more from this series in the future.
