This is an excellent book, and offers clarity around the recent confusion on sanctification. It is written in a way to make it easy to understand. It's strange to say that a book on theology was enjoyable, but this book was very enjoyable to read.

This is a very readable and helpful book based on a strong biblical foundation. While theology is always practical, not all books are. Pastor DeYoung has done the church a great service by writing this fine book.

This is an excellent book that deals head-on with modern Christians lackadaisical attitude toward progressive sanctification--becoming holy--and living in obedience without excuses. It is not a condemning book, but a hopeful one--encouraging us to know that our Lord is pleased by sincere attempts to obey Him, even when we fall short.

DeYoung writes clearly of our need to strive after holiness in clear, concise, practical, and biblical language. This book is a necessary entry into the ongoing discussion of justification, sanctification, and salvation in the American Reformed church.

I would recommend this book to anyone that has struggled with the battle between legalism and holiness. What's the difference and how do we become holy without just becoming self-righteous. A helpful book.

DeYoung's book equipped me to think more biblically about how Christ-centered growth requires both meditating on the Gospel and putting forth effort to live out the Gospel. I would recommend this book to anyone.

DeYoung does a diligent job of presenting a whole gospel that includes a robust understanding of holiness. DeYoung offers a needed correction or caution to those who emphasize gospel only while relegating the pursuit of holiness to secondary concern.

DeYoung produces a well written book about holiness and how that should play out in our relationship with the Lord. It dispels the myth that we can not be holy and helps us see what holiness really is and why we should pursue it.

This is a very biblically and confessionally grounded work on the what, why and how of holiness. Very thought provoking. This would be a wonderful book for a book study of college age students or young adults. DeYoung does not pull any punches as he directs his readers to put effort and thought into living a holy life.

It's a great book that approaches holiness from a unique perspective. Chapter 5 really gets the ball going on a lot of misconceptions that people have on the bible and their views of holiness. I would strongly recommend this book for all Christians.

The first several chapters of this book investigate, dissect and apply the challenges of 'holiness' in our current Christian community. I found myself thinking this is a very good extension to R.C.Sproul's book on The Holiness of God.

This presents holiness and its pursuit in such a way that anyone could understand it. It convicted me of things I'd never even considered before (sleeping in is not nearly as appealing as it once was) and gave me hope through Christ.
