This book has intrigue, secrets, families, being an alpha and finding love. Hannah had no idea that she was a were-wolf. The first time Caleb was near Hannah he realized she was his mate. He tried to stay away from her but she wasn't having it. She rescued his shifters who were being imprisoned and was trapped. She called for help by telepathy and he came. She shifted for the first time to help him rescue his friends. They were in love and happy at last.

Strange a witch that dont know about other supernatural beings in her town.. Some things are really over explained in some of the conversations...and the emotions of Hannah are all over the place exactly like those of an extremely hormonal teenager... therefore thumbs up to the author in creating the character of Hannah. Teenagers will like this book

A very enjoyable and entertaining blending of shifting, magic, romance and action! I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book and look forward to reading and enjoying the rest of the series, along with every other book written by the author.
Tempted by the Pack (Blue Moon Brides Book 1) :: Seduction and Surrender (The Billionaire's Temptation Series Book 1) :: Epic Paranormal Series (Bonded By Blood Vampire Chronicles Book 1) :: Jamaica Inn :: Strangers

This book had a really good storyline, but there was just something missing for me....I can't put my finger on it. It has all the paranormal things I love not to mention the legend of the jersey devil thrown in and I still couldn't give it more than three stars. But with that being said, it's still a decent book.

I thought the storyline had promise. Unfortunately once I started reading I could only say the book was ok, not great, not bad. The characters weren't really developed and the main female seemed a bit immature. If the other books end up free at anytime I would definitely finished reading the series, but I won't be going out of my way to buy them.

It could use more development. For example, is this a world where everyone knows about the paranormal? If so, why is the main character so extraordinarily clueless? She would have heard something and not just believed it's a fairy tale. However, it couldn't be a secret because the main character's best friend knows all about the paranormal and a random librarian went so far as to hire multiple witches. So, an explanation about that would have been very helpful.

The characters were interesting, but, not fully developed either. People are introduced briefly and then they are gone or we have to embrace the lack of back ground. There's no explanation for why they act the way they do or say things that seem odd, rude or mean. The main character seems like she would be working at a McDonald's after graduating college because she has absolutely no ambition other than to be with her mother. Yet, there are brief moments that come out of left field, where she acts or says something that would indicate otherwise. There's no background for the bad guys either. They just appear with a couple of sentences for explanation and then we are expected to just move on and go with it.

The plot itself is, well, not quite all there. I mean it's basically girl meets guy, guy is mean, neither can stop thinking about each other, guy leaves girl after sex, girl is in trouble, guy rescues girl, they live happily ever after. No explanation for the bad guy, no explanation for the relatives, no idea where the bad guys go afterward or what happens to anyone after the girl gets rescued other than the horny couple. (Did the bad guys get away? Where was her father this whole time? Is the girl still in trouble? And where the hell did she learn to fight like that with no training?)

Overall, it leaves too many open questions. Add that to some much needed editing and you get one star. It gets a second star because it was light and airy and if you didn't want to put much thought into the story, it's perfect for you.

It was a good enough story.
A bit unstructured and an unnecessary flashback of Caleb that did not fit in.
There wasn't enough story on Caleb and Hannah's relationship. It felt rushed and thought through.
Hannah's heroic scene also felt forced and rushed.
I guess I won't read more from this author.

I did like the book however usually when there are different books to a series it at least finishes that book. Not this one it just ends then you have to buy the next one it's pretty irritating. I will admit they are good enough to buy nonce I did get the second one one finished it real quick super short and then looked at the rest .Forget that it's like you have to buy chapters.

I'm extremely surprised at all the good reviews this book got. I managed to finish this book, but it was really out of curiosity as to how bad it could get. If you want to roll your eyes, then this could be the book for you.

The main heroine, Hannah, is supposed to be finished with college, but the way she is written she could easily be only 13 or 14 years old. She's whiny and immature in her dialogue. She a witch, but is surprised that there is anything supernatural about her town. Even though her best friend is supposed to be an expert on the supernatural. And it seems the town is a shifter hot spot.
The hero is one dimensional and uninteresting. Sure he's describe and the hottest guy she's ever seen, but he has no real character development. His motivation for his interest in the heroine is rather laughable.
Her mother is a flake and acts more like a roommate that a parental figure. The dialogue between Hannah and her mother reflects this.
The names are just weird. Pea is her grandmother, Pinky is her best friend. There's a Bubbles in there somewhere.

The plot is spotty and unfinished. Plot holes abound. It feels like the author rushes through ans skips over things that should be important. Then slogs and drags out unimportant details. I can only imagine that this book was not read through or edited at all.

There's supposed to be 2 more books in this series. Yeah, I won't be reading them. This one was torture enough.

Contrived and poorly edited. Sorry to say that this story was just blah. The character's thoughts and actions were unbelievable and it seemed a few chapters were organized in the wrong order...perhaps an accident, but still annoying. Not worth the money.

Hannah Crane has grown up hearing the supernatural tales but has chosen to ignore all of that in her life until one day she runs across werewolf alpha Caleb Overstreet. Hannah is actually from a long line of witches but knew very little about her history and didn't believe that werewolves were even real.

Now Hannah and Caleb find themselves being pulled together but this puts Hannah in danger. It seems she is the key to breaking a curse that has spanned generations through her falling for the handsome and charming werewolf Caleb.

Charming the Alpha started off seeming like it was going to be another strictly oh you are my mate so let's do the dirty type of read but actually ended up surprising me with a pretty good plot. With witches and wolves and a curse spanning thirteen generations I found this one to be pretty interesting.

Overall, I'd give Charming the Alpha 3.5 stars, still a rather short fast paced story but not too bad in the end.

The storyline is amazing!. The characters are awesome!.
Hannah is a Crane a long line of witches. Hannah's mother had once told her that Hannah that her father was a werewolf. Hannah did not really believe in such things till she meets the Rowan packs Alpha Caleb!. When this happens Hannah's life takes some major twists!. Caleb had been patrolling the woods near Hannah's as there had been several shifters found dead and disappearing. When he comes across Hannah he feels drawn to her but he does not know why as she is a human witch he thinks. Everything points to Hannah being his mate. Hannah's life gets put in danger when a evil coyote shifter sets his sights on her.
You will love this stunning, exciting, funny, and scorching hot romance!.

So many things just don't make sense. This appears to be a place where everyone knows all about paranormal beings, but the main character is totally clueless about them...except that she goes into the woods to visit her dead grandma. Isn't that a little odd? A little paranormal? The characters names are goofy and there is never an explanation...I mean Pea? Really?
There are so many aspects to the story that just don't quite make sense. I see potential with this...with some serious rewrites!

Though I enjoyed the story itself I couldn't really warm up to the relationship between the main characters. I really tried but they were two dimensional to me and I felt like they didn't had much depth. For being fated mates, it didn't really feel like they had an instant and undeniable attraction to each other, it was a feeling that wasn't really conveyed to me.

I did enjoy the mystery regarding the beginnings of the town and that all sorts of supernatural creatures freely converged in this enviroment and that, contrary to most stories and books out there, this cohabitation was natural.

The plot was rushed as well as the ending and resolution of the problem. I wished for more circumstances in which I could have empathize with the characters and their feelings towards each other, but their was none. Overall, the story was good but I didn't care much about Hannah and Caleb's relationship.

It is a short, enjoyable read so if anyone likes this themes you may be interested to read it.

My Thoughts - 3 out of 5 Unicorns - I liked it!!
***Part of the Fated Mates Anthology which I received from the publisher for an honest review, but I bought it because I liked it :)

The cover is great, and you definitely think shifter when you see it :)

This is the 2nd story in the Fated Mates Box Set that I just bought. This story had me confused in the beginning, and while the confusion cleared up, I just didn’t connect with any of the characters. I’m thinking it is because this is the first book in the series, but not sure it could be my head cold and headache. Hannah is sort of naive as a character in my opinion because she never asks questions and knows nothing about her community that is full of shifters. Caleb protects her, but you do not know much about him.

I think if you like shifter books that you will enjoy reading this story. I am definitely going to continue reading more by this author.

Charming the Alpha has so many things going for it. Well, first, it was *FREE*. Second of all, the story was a gem, so original. I love magic and love werewolves… And throw in a rival were pack to the mix… fantastic!

First I enjoy reading Mrs Rhodes romance novels. Her writing material is pure and heart felt. She is truely a gifted women who enjoys sharing her many talents with us. I speak as if we go way back, but in fact this is due to the connection of her novels. "Charming the Alpha" follows a young woman name Hannah. She lived a protected life. Now with the dangerous obstacles she faces its a wonder she is still alive. This is an uplifting enjoyable quick read, I hope you enjoy it as much as I have.
