...I do not like cliffhangers at all because the privilege of reading in my busy life is exactly that, a privilege and I don't have the opportunity to WAIT for an ending. However, when I do read it's a KA book because they are all fabulous.

Rough Ride lived up to its name and then some, and I loved every minute of it.
I told my girls that next time I get the bright idea to request a Kristen Ashley ARC they need to kick me. Why? Because I’ve read this and now I have to wait two weeks before I can discuss it with them and with that ending this is akin to torture.

I have to admit, I wasn’t sure about Rosalie as a heroine. There is no doubt Shy did her wrong, but I wondered if she could get over it enough to be with another Chaos brother and it not cause issues. KA, as usual, worked that in such a way that I was okay with it.

In the past, Rosalie lost something that tore a huge hole in her heart she’d been trying to fill for a long time. Doing this, she went from Shy straight to Throttle. An effort to save Throttle and his club from themselves ended in her broken, bleeding and betrayed by someone she thought loved her. Down but not out, she showed she was made of steel by doing the right thing even if it put a bigger target on her back. Recuperating, she realized she has a pattern and a type and the last thing she wanted was to jump back in with any man much less another biker.

I didn’t think anyone could even get close to my favorite hero of the Chaos series, Joker, but Snapper almost toppled Joker right off that throne (Conveniently for me, I consider Tack a Dream Man Hero or all bets would be off). Patient, calm, cool and collect, he’s waited for his Rosie and he’s not taking no for an answer. Whether she admits it or not, she’s his and has been for a long time and come hell or high water, he’ll make her see it.

The goodness with Rough Ride kept on coming with the quality time we got with Joker, Carissa and the rest of the club, and the addition of Rosie’s Mom, Renee. She, as KA would say, is the sh*&! I highlighted almost everything she said. I also had a big wish after meeting her, and it came true!!!! And no I’m not telling you what it was. You can thank me later.

I had a lot of things I wanted from Rough Ride, and I got almost every one of them. I do wish that when Chaos rode out to take care of business, I’d had a front row seat, but at least they rode out. There was a bit of the repetitiveness that can sometimes drive me crazy, but the story was so good, it barely blipped on my radar. I wondered at Chaos’ willingness to accept her after her actions towards Throttle and his club but they were into some seriously shady stuff and her heart was in the right place so I let it go.

This was action-packed, emotional, hot and sexy and I was in a hugely good place as I came to the end. There I was, smiling, happy, and thrilled for Snapper and Rosie, and then that last bit happened. I was gobsmacked. I’m not calling it a cliffhanger since Rosie and Snapper were great relationship wise, but holy cannoli, KA left me hanging. I cannot freaking wait for Hound and Keeley’s story so I can find out what happens with Chaos. It’s written already, but I may refer to it as “My Precioussssss” from now on until I get it because…I needs it…I needs it now!

Anyone who knows me knows that KA is pure comfort for me. There is something about her books that just do it for me. They are glorious and just have that magic touch. She is my kryptonite. Her Chaos series is an old favorite of mine. Tack and Tyra, Shy and Tab, Joker and Carissa, Hop and Lanie and High and Millie all hold a special place in my heart and are re-read favorites. Now Snapper and Rosalie hold that honor. This novel was glorious! Their chemistry was fiery and the storyline was just so consuming. I could not get enough!

Informing to Chaos on their rival club—her man’s club, Bounty—Rosalie Holloway knew the stakes. But when she was left for dead after a brutal beat down by her ex, she had enough. Enough of the MC life. Enough of relying on a man for protection and enough of love. It didn't matter that she was falling in love with Everett “Snapper” Kavanagh, a Chaos brother. It didn't matter that she was becoming more and more in the Chaos fold. She wanted a change and a new life. But what she didn't expect was Snapper giving chase to the woman he's loved from the first time he met her. And in pure layman's terms to the KA novice that means endearing moments and swoony heartfelt actions of a Chaos man out to claim his woman.

Lord. This novel was amazing and just everything. I seriously never wanted it to end. I loved Snappers devotion and determination to make Rosalie his and the honest depiction of a man who saw his endgame and moved heaven and earth to make her his. I seriously loved seeing the Chaos family again and that ending?! OMG I need to know what's happening!! I am so excited!! Bravo! 4.5 stars! ~Ratula

My rating doesn't really match my review, just know that while I enjoyed Rough Ride, I couldn't help but share what I felt straight after.

Geez, I'm sad. I just finished Rough Ride this morning and while I enjoyed the ride, I feel like the high has been overshadowed by grief. There's a scene where Rosie goes to Zip's Gun Emporium. Now, as an Aussie with gun laws, my immediate thought would not be to buy a gun when in danger (not that I imagine I would ever be in that kind of danger). I hated that Rosie felt the need to protect herself. Don't get me wrong, what happened to Rosie was horrific and definitely needed to see justice served, but as the pictures shown to her (view spoiler), living with the consequences of using a gun, could have been worse.

I finished the story, turned on my computer and was ambushed by my news feed. There had been another high school shooting, in Florida. It made me incredibly sad.

What would have been a review talking about all my love for Kristen Ashley and her remarkable storytelling, has been tarnished. I cried more than one tear for Rosie and my heart broke for the Chaos family, as one of their own was dealt a hard hand. This story, while tragic, showed the strength and perseverance of a woman who got knocked down, but she got up again. And, nothing's going to keep her down.

Not trying to cause a huge debate, these are just my feelings as an Aussie waking up to a sad news day. My thoughts and prayers for the families affected.

New Kristen Ashley books are always something I’m excited about, so it’s a let-down when they fall flat. The story wasn’t bad, there just wasn’t enough plot to keep me interested. After the first 30 or so pages the story went nowhere and the characters were pretty thinly written. When KA dives deeply into characters and develops engaging, interesting storylines she’s my all-time favorite! Unfortunately, this wasn’t one of those times.

That is not my definition of chaos. Disorder and confusion are never words I associate with my chaos. Freedom, wild, lawless, family, hope, crazy, love. Thanks to Kristen Ashley those are the words that will always be in my mind when I hear chaos. Anyone says the word and I smile a ridiculously happy smile just thinking about this series. I try and take a piece of this series, a bit of Kristen Ashley’s writing and add it to my already beautiful life it makes it chaos and I love it. My first Kristen Ashley book was Motorcycle Man I realized after I had read the series in the wrong order and I wouldn’t change it. I went back and read the rest of the dream man series but Tack will always be my first. I love that Tack will always be my beginning and the way she’s writing them Rush will always be my ending, it’s perfect. My middle though has been just as good every one of the chaos men and their women are perfect in their own individual ways. I’ve been wanting Rosie’s happy ever after since the second the mall scene happened and “Why Ya Wanna ” played in my head. I love Shy but damn boy not cool! Snapper is definitely a different style of biker then we’ve gotten used to in this series but it made him all the yummier. Do I wish it was longer? . . . Well duh! It’s chaos I want each and every one of them longer even if they were already a 1000 pages. This book just made me Jones for the next addition to this already perfect series. I have a feeling Hound and Keely won’t let me down. I know Rush won’t let me down, like father like son. If your a Kristen Ashley fan and you haven’t read Chaos go now it will rock your world. Those of you who have been living under a rock in the romance book world and haven’t read a Kristen Ashley book at all start living! It feels good ?

This is the first book I have read by KA that disappoints me. I love that all her books have been stand-alones. The books that are in a series are easy to catch up with even if you haven’t read the prior book. This one ends horribly. I still enjoyed the beginning and if I wouldn’t have read the epilogue (which I have adored in all previous books) perhaps I would not be so upset. I DO NOT purchase books that have cliffhangers. I went back and reread the blurb because thought maybe I miss read it. I have read nearly all the authoress’ other books . So sad right now . Maybe I should have waited to write recommendation. I love her writings!

Really disappointed with this book - expected more from KA. She just drops you into this story in the middle of it. It didn't jive with the Snapper from previous books and Rosie is a secondary character - used to be with Shy. Joker and Carrie make an appearance but they only have Travis - no mention of the baby she was pregnant with when they got married at the end of their book. I found it boring . There is a long epilogue that ends in a freaking cliffhanger. That pissed me off. I don't know what happened to KA here but she might want to let the Chaos series go.

There is violence at the start of this book, having said that what starts to build between Snapper and Rosalie from that is slow but sweet. They have obstacles to get over mainly due to the beating but also due to her still coming to terms with a profound loss, one that I could completely empathise with. The rest of the club rally round and between them and Snapper not willing to give up she starts to heal. Fantastic story, there is angst and said violence but most of this is the two of them getting to know and being comfortable around each other. Well written and the end just leaves you needing more of all these characters. Kristen's books always grip and hold me pulling me deep into the story and the emotions that go with it, the characters are people you would love to know for real and long to have the loyalty and friendship that they all have.

I love reading KA’s books. I think I have them all, except for the Honey Series. But when I get one of her books, I expect to be drawn into whatever world she’s creating. And I expect to be there for longer than one reading session. Please, no more novellas. They are too short, leave out too much information, and too little character formation.
And did I miss something in another book about a delivery to a picnic table???
Looking forward to the next installment...even if it’s a novella (please, no).

Everything you need to know about this book happens in the first two and last chapters. In between we were treated to the story of Rosalie (Sky's former GF) and Snapper of Chaos MC. The book veered back and forth from sex scenes (a lot of them for 200+ pages) to all of the secondary characters and Sky preaching to Rosalie. They all told her how she should feel, how she was grieving over her father, how she shouldn't accept blame for anything, how she was loyal to a fault, what she should be looking for in life, etc.....it was a great, preachy case of telling you about a character vs. showing you about a character. The book was mildly interesting in the first few chapters, suspenseful in the last chapter (cliffhanger), but absolutely boring as all get out. Kristen Ashley does not do novellas well in the past, and this one is no exception.

I didn’t love this book, didn’t connect to the characters. Chaos series as a whole has been hit or miss for me. Own The Wind I thought could have been better; same feeling about this book. Just didn’t have that spark for me like other KA books. Will reread at later date & update review if better or worse with reread.

I was pretty disappointed with this novella. It’s been so long since a Chaos book has been released I thought it should of been better. I hated the epilogue it was cryptic with the added insult of a cliffhanger; I am not a fan of authors teasing their loyal readers like that. It was just a huge disappointment I cannot say I ever had this feeling with the other books in the series.

You remember Rosalie as the girl Shy cast aside for Tabitha. She was sweet and heartbroken but she was not the girl for him. After Shy, Rosalie got close to a member of Bounty MC. She fell in love but she was also doing a job for Chaos. Bounty found out and did not react well. Chaos dropped the ball and Rosalie got hurt.

But...Snapper was Rosalie's liason to Chaos and she fell in love with him as well. It sounds complicated but in this book, which could be considered a novella by Ashley's standards, she made it easy. I liked it well enough but the pacing was rushed and that ending was nonsense. Sneak peek into Hound's book looks promising though. I'll keep reading.

I'm not sure why I keep tormenting myself by reading KA's books, especially when she writes novellas like this.
The first quarter of this book is pages related to other book written by KA and other books to be found in the Dark Nights series. Which was frustrating. For all that was "story" in this, it honestly could've been offered as like a freebie or extra on the authors website.
Then we get like a whole chapter of 2 worth of descriptions on the warehouse Rosalie is found beaten in, then we get the same chapters worth when Rosalie goes to the house Snapper and Chaos is providing for her. I'm all for details and descriptions, but I don't need to know every color of every item in the house. Hell with all the details, I'm shocked I didn't get an exact count on how many tiles were in the house!
KA really missed out on a good bulk of this story. It would've been nice to read about the times Rosalie and Snapper got close while she was ratting out her man.
Which while we are on the topic, how is anyone honestly suppose to believe this woman was in love with 3 different bikers, back to back to back, and in the mix have some daddy issues which is the reason she went searching for her own biker... Yep I rolled my eyes so hard at this I swear I saw the back of my head.
I've never read a book of KA's that was a cliffhanger, and to get one now is just a disappointment on top of a mediocre story

I'm back at the compound to spend some much needed time with my favorite MC boys and biker babes ~ the Chaos crew. It's been a while since visiting Ride, and I sorely missed these brothers of the cut and their sexy badass Alpha ways. Fascinated with these characters since reading Motorcycle Man, each steamy novel within this spin-off series was gritty, intense, and passion-filled. The story told in Rough Ride was no different. Once again Kristen Ashley fed my never-ending addiction for her romances with another emotional tale, this time featuring two minor characters we've met before and whose stories I've longed for ~ Snapper and Rosalie.

Rosalie "Rosie" Holloway had a complicated history with Chaos. Before putting herself on the line as their informant, providing information on (her now ex) Throttle's MC, Rosie first appeared in "Own the Wind" as Shy Cage's ex-girlfriend. Even though their time together was short, and Shy abruptly dumping Rosalie led to his beautiful life with Tabby, a part of me felt genuinely sorry for how she was left shattered. I never resented or faulted Rosie for being involved with Shy, as she was a victim of circumstances; I just wanted to know this woman's story and see her find happiness. My wishes for Rosie finally came true in this novella, as Everett “Snapper” Kavanagh proved to be worthy of her heart by the tenderly mending all of her wounds. The cherry on top ~ there was no friction between any of these characters due to their past connections, and I was relieved. For me, this story was about discovering the real Rosalie, experiencing her pain, the long road to healing, and seeing her relationship with Snapper blossom to true love. I relished every moment of their slow-burning, heartfelt journey.

A sweet and soft-spoken woman who had the unfortunate knack of hitching her wagon on the wrong star, Rosalie's story tugged at my heartstrings. She was a lost soul ~ mourning the loss of her dad while searching for the 'forever love' her parents shared, led her to find only heartache and brutality. The abuse she endured, mentally and physically, gutted me. Her luck changed for the better when without choice she became a part of Chaos. That's one of the things I adore most about these bikers; how they all value the bonds of brotherhood by protecting and caring for their extended family. Tack and his crew embraced Rosalie, kept her safe within their arms, in the most touching way. But it was Snapper's fierce love, patience, and persistence that finally put an end to Rosie's rough ride. Loving her from afar for so long, he gently made his way into her heart and life when finally getting the chance. And while earning her trust and affections, Snapper managed to become a perfect hero I truly adored.

I loved all things Snapper. He was an incredibly sexy biker badass ~ possessive, controlling and edgy ~ but in a remarkably calm and subdued way. The depths of his love and patience when dealing with Rosie, guarding her heart and giving her the time she needed, was moving. However, don't let his easy-going demeanor fool you. As mellow as his character was, in times of trouble, Snapper unleashed a fury like no other. Proving he would do anything and everything to protect Rosie and the club family.

A shorter, fast-paced read jam-packed with so much KA goodness, this novella delivered and satisfied my Chaos craving. Although considered a standalone, I do recommend reading all the books in this series, to appreciate Snapper and Rosalie's passionate romance and to understand their history. I was thrilled to see all of my favorites MC characters, as well as revisiting some old Rock Chick friends hanging out in Fortnums and Zip's Gun Emporium. And the epilogue...holy moly, was it EXPLOSIVE! Angst-filled and leaving me gripping my kindle with my head spinning, I was conjuring up all sorts of plot theories and scenarios. The stage is set here for future books, and I cannot wait until the next installment ~ Wild Like the Wind.

I voluntarily reviewed an advance copy of this publication

I was super excited for more Chaos and to see how things played out between Snapper and Rosalie was just a bonus.

Rough Ride was a quick read - as in I didn't move until I'd finished - but it was full of everything I'd expect from Kristen Ashley and a Chaos book. Danger, drama, alpha males, fierce heroine, and of course intriguing plot.

Rosalie has wanted one thing in her life - a love like her mother had from her father - and in that quest she's made mistakes - mistakes she doesn't want to make again. As such, after she's hurt she wants nothing more to do with Chaos or bikers in general - but breaking away is not so easy. Especially when Snapper is determined to win her over and prove to her he can provide what she's been wanting.

Snapper is kind of in a hard place - his brothers in Chaos and his feelings for Rosalie but he can't let her go and he is determined to make up for what she went through - even if it wasn't all in the name of helping Chaos. I wasn't sure how much I would like Snapper until I got to his story - not that I thought he was a bad guy, I just hadn't really gotten a feel for who he is at his core.

While there were parts of this story that gave me pause, ultimately I enjoyed it and could see the connection between these two. I enjoyed the journey, even as I wished parts of it didn't have to happen.

Oh I do love my KA! And As far as K.A. series' go, Chaos is my favourite because Kristen Ashley's bikers are the best. They are bad ass, loyal and sexy.

Kristen Ashley has a way of reintroducing characters in her books and giving you a fresh perspective on them, their life and their place in the world she's built.
‘Rough Ride’ brings back a character we met early on in the series, Rosalie Holloway. In this novella she's ready to be done with the MC world, but Chaos isn’t ready to be done with her. “It’s not about goin’ it alone. It’s about finding the right people to share it with who will make it better when it’s good and be there to hold you steady when it’s not.”

Snapper and Rosie had a pretty fast paced relationship but it still had the perfect mix of drama, intrigue and heat. ‘Rough Ride’ is a slow burning dynamic that I enjoyed. I especially loved Snapper’s commitment. Snapper has wanted Rosalie since she was with Shy. “I fell for you when you were Shy’s and if you think that now, when you need me most, now, when I finally, F*** finally got a clear shot, I’m givin’ up, think again, Rosie.”

Yep, I love KA!

Rough Ride brings back a character we met early on in the series, Rosalie Holloway. In this novella she's ready to be done with the MC world, but they aren't ready to be done with her.

Snapper and Rosie had a pretty fast paced relationship but it still had the perfect mix of drama and heat. There was also a little action crammed into the story that added a lot of intrigue. As usual KA delivered a story that had a lot going on but never got to be too much to where it became jumbled.

I liked getting to learn more about this couple and I thought they were really good together. The chemistry was evident between them and I thought they just made a very cute couple.

The ending leaves the story open for more of the MC to get stories and I can't wait to see what's going to happen next.

The Chaos series is speeding towards its end and this novella serves as a sort of bridge to that exciting conclusion. If you haven't read the previous books in the series, Rough Ride will not make much sense to you, but if you're a diehard Chaos fan you'll find a lot going on in these 200 pages.

Snapper and Rosalie's story started long before this book and if you talked to diehard KA fans, they were definitely torn as to whether Rosie deserved a HEA with a Chaos man after being with Shy Cage in the series opener, Own the Wind. When she becomes an old lady to a member of a rival club, Bounty, and later turns informant on them, she finds herself back in the Chaos fold and falling in love with Snapper. This all turns ugly as Rough Ride opens and things between Snapper and Rosalie and Chaos, Bounty, and criminal Benito Venezuela come to a head.

The romance is a given in Rough Ride as readers already know that the H and h are in love. There's some conflict for Snapper and Rosalie as she comes to terms with what happened to her, but the real story is about Rosalie accepting who she is and why she ended up on the cement floor of a warehouse beaten half to death.

This is what I love about KA. Even as I was struggling with Rosalie's choice to inform on her boyfriend, I could easily relate to her. Almost always in romance books, authors find it necessary to make their heroine a woman who doesn't need a man to be happy because it appears weak. Poor Rosalie almost loses her HEA because of this mentality, but KA does a perfect job of showing Rosie, through Snapper and her mom, that we are who we are and there's nothing wrong with her for wanting a significant other to complete her and her happiness. This is a consistent theme with KA: giving us heroines that are so real and ones that we can relate to. This is one of the reasons I keep going back to her even when I get frustrated.

Frustrated. Yep. Frustrated. Kristen Ashley has a distinctive writing style that is increasingly making me nuts. She has a unique way of, er, describing scenes that is sometimes over the top. You know exactly what I'm talking about if you read her books. I've noticed in her last few releases that it's just gotten more loopy. I'm reading sentences and paragraphs three or four times to make sense of them. I'm texting friends because I literally can't visualize what I just read. It disrupts the pace of the book and, by extension, my enjoyment of it. Of course, it won't stop me from rereading it or buying it in hard copy to put on my KA shelves. But, seriously, when I've got a bad case of FibroFog, I feel like I'm losing my mind when I read this stuff.

There is a lot of Chaos goodness and cameos throughout Rough Ride and you'll want to read past all the 1001 Dark Nights adverts to get to the sample chapter of the next Chaos book. Then, be prepared to scratch your head and spend hours speculating as to what happened in the epilogue and wishing half the year away for the July release of Wild Like the Wind, the next book in the Chaos series.

One of my most re-read books by Kristen Ashley is Own The Wind, the first book in the ‘Chaos Series’. It tells the story of Tabby and Shy, and while I love them together, I hated Shy for the way he treated Rosalie. Although Rosalie played a small part, she made a big impression on me and I always kept wondering about her. With Rough Ride we finally get her (and Snapper’s) story; Rosalie and Snapper are a real KA couple.

“I’d never seen eyes like Snapper’s. You would think that snow would put you in a deep freeze but he’d never, not once, not even for an instant, given me anything cold. He was all warm for me.”

Rosalie is a born biker-babe. Her father was a good biker, a lone rider who loved to ride and who stayed far away from the criminal clubs. After Shy dumped her years ago, she found new love with another biker, and things were good until he started to hang out with the wrong crowd. When Rosalie pays the price for her boyfriend’s criminal activities, Snapper and the other Chaos men come for her rescue, getting her back into the Chaos-fold. Snapper has always been special to Rosalie, and with him being so close she can’t deny her feelings.

Snapper has always been into Rosalie, but first she was Shy’s and then she happily moved on with a biker from another club. When Rosalie gets caught up in club-shit and is brutally beaten, he steps in, claiming her as his. Snapper knows she’s not ready yet, but he has to make her understand his feelings for her.

“I been along for this ride with you, Rosie. Do you think I missed that?” “No, it’s just—” “I’m totally f*****’ in love with you.” I leaned back and stared, a flare happening around my heart that started to spread throughout my chest cavity. “Gone, babe. Gone.”

Rosalie and Snapper are a true KA couple; she a sassy sweet woman, he an Alpha guy (and in this case also a badass biker) who knows what he wants. I love Rosalie, she’s been through hell, but that doesn’t stop her from being herself. She knows where it went wrong in her previous relations and wants to do better for herself, and Snapper. Snapper, Snapper, Snapper… Dude, take it easy! I know you want Rosalie, but she’s not going anywhere. I get that you’re a badass Alpha biker, but tone it down a bit… I would have run straight into the other direction, you’re lucky Rosalie is much more understanding.

Like the last books in ‘the Chaos Series’, Rough Ride is a mainly a sweet story (with rough edges); all about finding real love, friendship and the Chaos-family. Sometimes I feel it’s almost too sweet, that there’s too much friendliness. But after the epilogue I can’t shake the feeling that all these positive feelings are a build-up to something truly evil; a dark storm threating the Chaos men and their loved ones.

“When it was time, we’d shut down the house, together, and move up the stairs, together, and find our way to the bed… Together. He hadn’t lied. I was his world.”

ROUGH RIDE by Kristen Ashley is instalment 4.5 and novella in the author’s Chaos MC series (a spin-off from the author’s Dream Man series) and the latest instalment in the multi-authored 1001 Dark Nights anthology. This is twenty eight year old waitress Rosalie Holloway, and thirty three year old MC member Everett ‘Snapper’ Kavanagh’s story line. ROUGH RIDE can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary. Rosalie was first introduced in book one OWN THE WIND-Shy and Tabby’s story line.

SOME BACKGROUND: In book one OWN THE WIND Rosalie Holloway’s heart was broken when the biker that she loved (Shy Cage) fell in love with the Chaos MC president’s daughter Tabitha Allen. The daughter of a biker herself, Rosalie was desperate to find the love her mother and father once enjoyed before his death three years earlier, but finding love with a member from a rival MC meant Rosalie’s allegiances would be tested again and again.

WARNING: ROUGH RIDE contains scenes (some implied) of graphic violence that may not be suitable for all readers.

Told from first person point of view (Rosalie) and third person (Snapper), ROUGH RIDE focuses on the friends to lovers, building relationship between Rosalie Holloway and Everett ‘Snapper’ Kavanagh in the days and weeks following the beating and attack against our story line heroine by a man she once loved and the Bounty MC. Undercover for the Denver biker Chaos MC, Rosalie reported back what little information she could about the Bounty MC-a rival gang who vowed to make Rosalie suffer when it was discovered that she ratted back to the Chaos gang. What ensues is the building romance between Snapper and Rosalie, and the potential fall out as Rosalie begins to pull away from the people who vowed to save and protect her from the Bounty MC- people who needed to atone for letting down our story line heroine.

Rosalie Holloway barely survived the beating endured by the Bounty MC, a beating meant to send a message to the members of Chaos but a beating that provoked a violent reaction as most women are protected by honor and code-Women. Kids. Bike. Freedom. Vowing to protect Rosalie with his life, Snapper begins a slow seduction of the woman that has called to his heart since the first time they met

The relationship between Snapper and Rosalie has always been one of mutual attraction; a palpable sexual interest but Rosalie kept looking for what she lost- a replacement for the father she loved with all of her heart. From Shy Cage to rival MC member Throttle Beck, Rosalie was desperate to find love one way or another but it wasn’t until Beck discovered Rosalie’s betrayal did Snapper make a move to claim Rosalie as his own. The $ex scenes are limited but passionate and intense.

There is a very large ensemble cast of supporting and secondary characters including most of the Chaos MC: Shy and Tabby; Joker, Carissa and Travis: Lanie, Hop and Nash; Chaos president Kane ‘Tack’ Allen and his wife Tyra Masters; Logan ‘High’ Judd and Millie; Roscoe, Hop, Rush, Boz , Hopper Kincaid as well as Rosalie’s mother Renae; and several members of the Bounty MC including Rosalie’s ex boyfriend Gerard “Throttle’ Beck.

ROUGH RIDE is an emotional, heart breaking and sexy story line. The premise is complex, edgy and energetic; the characters are colorful and charismatic; the romance is intimate, tender and captivating. ROUGH RIDE is an energetic and sensitive tale about one woman looking for love in all of the wrong places.

“For years, you’ve had a rough ride, what’s happened recently just the most recent. You’ve been jacked around since your daddy died and I don’t think either man meant to do you wrong but in the end they did. And I’m the man who’s gonna do your right, Rosalie. With me, that rough ride is gonna end, baby.”

Rosalie has been looking for a man like her dad, a good guy who liked motorcycles and cared for his family. The first Chaos man she set her sights on dumped her, then she moved onto a man from Bounty, but that turned out even worse. Recently she tried to do the right thing, but got caught in between the two clubs and was lucky to make it out alive.

But now Chaos is claiming her, and specifically one member wants her to be his. Everett "Snapper" Kavanaugh has had his eyes on Rosalie for awhile, and now he finally sees a clear path to claiming her as his own. Unfortunately, recent events have left her hurt, fearful, and untrusting, and him feeling guilty and angry.

Snapper is the kind of alpha hero who is bossy, possessive, and likes things his way, but he is also loyal, protective, loving, and thoughtful. He is ready to do what it takes to make her feel safe and cared for, even if she is resistant or scared of losing again. He is smart, motivated, actually reads books, and holds meaningful conversations too! I adored him. Rosalie made me want to shake her at times, but it was also understandable with what she had been through. But she is sweet, funny, and caring too. This is about her wanting to stand up and find her own way, but also about being part of a bigger family and being accepted, loved, and protected. It is also about trust, being willing to take a risk, and finding inner strength.

It is so easy to sink back into this Chaos MC world with all of our favorite alpha men and feisty females. I love their sense of club and family loyalty. They are fun, social, supportive, and such big personalities. And some other KA cameos were just icing on the cake. This installment is funny, emotional, sexy, and suspenseful. And even though it is a novella, it is actually longer than typical ones.

I appreciated that it was not too full of relationship angst. I liked that these characters actually talked and acted maturely. But they are dealing with danger and threats causing tension, suspense, and anxiety. This can technically be read as a stand alone to get introduced to Chaos, and it may attract new readers. But this also ties in previous books in the series and even hints at some things farther back in the club's history, while also becoming a bridge to move the series forward again with some other characters. Fans of the series will recognize an ongoing nemesis. And the ending definitely leaves you wanting more. I have been looking forward to Tack's son, Rush, having a book for so long, and it seems like Hound is another brother who has some things to figure out.

What does one say about this book? The only word I can come up with is GAH! It is wonderful being back in the Chaos world but even better that we go back there with a woman I think most everyone, who has previously read the series, has had mixed feelings on. Rosalie has caused a bit of strife but she's also put herself on the line to save someone else so who will she become in the end, is she redeemable or does she even need redemption?

There is no doubt that what she really deserves is love and I am so happy that it is our good guy bad boy biker, Snapper, that is the one to finally, truly love her. Snapper is just plain and simple an amazing character. I adored his heart, the way that he cares for his brothers, their families, and for Rosalie. Don't think that takes away from the alpha hero that we have come to expect from a Kristen Ashley book though. That biker alpha attitude is all there and I think we'll be seeing a lot more of it coming in the future.

These two are so great together. There is a whole world of baggage between these two but it is beautiful to watch them overcome it and to see them fall in love and into happiness.

Honestly I can't tell you much about this book because I don't want to give anything away and readers let me tell you...THAT END! Kristen Ashley is a cruel but so amazing. I don't even know what to think. I honestly shut this book and thought to myself "OMG, that was amazing but WHAT THE HECK (modified for the store) JUST HAPPENED!" This is one of those cliffhangers but not a cliffhanger kind of endings and all I can say is I want, no, I NEED more and I need it now. I will say that this is the only thing that made it a four star read, the end is basically a cliff hanger and I totally wasn't expecting it.

If you are a fan of Kristen Ashley and her Chaos series get this book asap, if you are new to this world you don't want to miss this. While this can be read as a standalone you will definitely end up wanting to go back and start from the beginning. I can promise you that you would want to do that anyway, Kristen Ashley books just have a way of getting under a readers skin until you're basically a junkie on the constant look out for your next KA fix.

3.5 stars. This was a pretty good novella addition to the Chaos series. This is Rosalie and Snapper's story. Rosalie is Shy's ex-girlfriend. In previous Chaos books, we find out she has been dating a biker from another MC, Bounty, that is involved with crime. She begins informing on Bounty to Chaos and Snapper is the Chaos brother that is assigned to her. As they spend time communicating, sometimes in person but mostly by phone, they develop feelings for each other. But Bounty finds out she has double crossed them and they beat her up badly. This is where the book begins. The story focuses on Rosalie and Snapper beginning a relationship from that point.

I liked Rosalie and Snapper. I actually thought that Snapper had more personality and was funnier in other books. I kind of felt like Rosalie had daddy issues because her father was a biker who died. She seemed desperate to be with a biker, and when Snapper showed interest in her, she jumped at him. They didn't have strong personalities, but they were okay. They have a very quiet, slowish romance without a lot of fireworks or drama. I was worried that Shy would be a big part of the story, but luckily he was not in the book much at all. I wasn't bothered by his former relationship with Rosie at all, or even the fact that he and Tabby are still friends with and hang out with her.

This was not a bad novella, but it is pretty far down my list of KA book faves. It was sweet, but there was not much to it. I liked Rosalie and Snapper, but there wasn't much to this story. I got the feeling that this wasn't a book that Ms. Ashley was compelled to write, but it was more of a filler book to push ahead with the overarching series story line. It wasn't a bad book. There just wasn't much to it. It is exactly what the blurb says. Snapper and Rosalie's feelings for each other are well-developed before the book starts and they had already fallen for each other. So while I liked them and believed their love for each other, it was hard to feel it. There just wasn't much of a story otherwise. Also, it was short for a novella by this author. Even her novellas are usually long.

I was shocked by the cliffhanger ending in the epilogue (this was not related to Rosalie and Snapper's romance) and I had no clue what was happening. So I'm really interested in how the overall series arc develops in the upcoming Chaos books. Also, we get a prologue of Hound and Keely's book, which is the next book in the series, and it sounds really good. Overall, I did enjoy this novella for the sweet, simple story it was and I am definitely looking forward to more from this series!

It’s always exciting getting a new Kristen Ashley book. Getting a new Chaos book, though? *cue high-pitched screaming* It feels like it’s been FOREVER since we’ve ventured into the world of KA’s infamous biker club so getting a new novella courtesy of 1001 Dark Nights is (I think) cause for a freak-out. With Rough Ride, Kristen Ashley delivers a story that’s filled to bursting with drama, romance, and suspense. Between clashing with a rival motorcycle club, a forbidden romance, and trouble brewing within Chaos, there’s never a dull moment in this action-packed page-turner.

When Rosalie “Rosie” Holloway becomes entangled in the conflict between Bounty and Chaos, it’s Everett “Snapper” Kavanaugh who comes riding to her rescue, albeit a little too late. The charming, boyishly handsome biker Rosie became close with during her time as an informant to Chaos transforms into a fearsome, overprotective force to be reckoned with when the woman he’s claimed as his own is in danger. Chaos rallies behind Rosie but her relationship with Snapper is tested again and again. Rosie and Snapper don’t have a typical romance or an easy road to a happy ending by any means. These characters are fighters, though. They are strong, fierce, and capable of surviving pain and heartache, especially since their obstacle-filled journey paves the way for the possibility of love and happiness.

With Rough Ride and the way Rosie and Snap’s budding romance is introduced, it feels as if we’re joining a story that’s in progress, which I think is the perfect fit for the novella format. After unrequitedly longing for Rosalie through her two previous relationships, Snapper wastes no time in making his intentions clear, so the romance is as fast-paced as the subplot involving Chaos. Heart-meltingly sweet, gut-wrenchingly angsty, and hopelessly romantic (but in a tough, biker-friendly way, of course), Rough Ride is a riveting novella that’ll have you hooked from start to finish.

As a side note: while Rough Ride is a standalone in terms of the romance between Rosie and Snapper, I think it would be beneficial to have read the Chaos Series beforehand, especially as this story sets up what’s coming next for the club. As action-packed as Rough Ride is, it still feels like a calm before the storm that’s undoubtedly approaching. I do think those unfamiliar with the series might be out of the loop when it comes to certain things that happen but, as a fan of the series, I’m even more impatient for the next book in the series.

4.5 STARS

Who else felt wretched for Rosalie when Shy and Tabby ran into her at the mall in OWN THE WIND? When you experienced her pain for having lost her boyfriend to the president of Chaos. I was so hoping to get a story for Rosalie, simply because she was was completely classy about it although you could feel how hard this was on her. Being dropped like a hot potato? Looking back, it was a lousy thing to do, Shy.

Unfortunately, suffering isn't quite over yet for Rosie. She has been spying on her boyfriend's motorcycle club for Chaos. She doesn't do it because she wants to see Bounty go down, no, her motives are much more personal. She wants to save her boyfriend from the illegal transactions going on within the MC but the more she realizes that notion is futile the more she falls in love with Snapper, her handler at Chaos. These are pretty much the impressions we got over the last Chaos books.

The book starts with a harrowing scene for Rosalie that ends with her in hospital with broken ribs, a fractured nose, countless bruises and a broken heart. And she's done. Done with her ex. Done with Bounty. And done with Chaos. She can't do it anymore. Too many people have let her down. And who can blame her after her recent ordeal? But all those people aren't done with her - especially Snapper, who has been in love with Rosalie for a long time. Plus, she still needs protection and Snapper is only all too happy to give it to her.

You might have gotten the impression in the previous books that Rosalie lets people walk all over her. And that would be all wrong. She is the usual awesome, strong, lovable, sassy KA-heroine we love so much. I always root for Kristen Ashley's couples but I really wanted to see Rosalie's HEA after all she'd gone through.

Under Snapper's usual alpha exterior hid a gentle and sweet man who had all the time in the world wooing his Rosie. He left her time but pushed her enough to see so that she could see that they both wanted the same. Once they were at the same page it was pure bliss.

Of course we catch up a little with the rest of the Chaos members, especially because, being the men they are, they all are affected by Rosalie's rough time, they all feel guilty for not protecting her sufficiently.

This is a satisfying and lovely addition to the series. Again, KA gives us her usual brand of sweet romance and tension that I adore so much. I believe there are two more books left and I can't wait to read them. Heads up: I wouldn't recommend reading this as a standalone - there is too much background story in the previous books. But just as well, right? Because this series is awesome.

Rough Ride is Chaos in a wonderfully gritty bite-sized serving. With a heroine so reminiscent of Sadie (Rock Chick Regret) and a fight so deeply ingrained within her, it was within the first page that I felt the draw to echoing her pain, her heartbreak, and her final straw bending. Although it is a short story, and the jump into their courtship falls at the halfway point, it does nothing to lessen or diminish the impact of a soul-deep claiming these two are circling around from the get-go.

Having seen Rosie play a few minor parts in prior Chaos novels, I adored getting to finally find her true story among the club and its men. She wasn’t fully formed prior, but it truly didn’t matter. The overall sense of who she is was gleaned back then and expounded upon efficiently and quickly in this fast-paced and incredibly touching love story. The sheer force of connection between Snapper and Rosie was vivid and palpable; his effect on her transferred to me, twisting my chest into knots and filling my belly with butterflies as he allowed his presence and the club’s presence to speak his words for him. And it was beautiful how it translated on to the page and in healing their broken divide.

And though every great story is never long enough, as is the case with Rough Ride, I cannot help but always marvel at how easily Ashley can engross a reader into characters and an entire series’ world in such a short amount of time, an instant, really–novella or not. Ashley’s storytelling powers are magnetic and they pull on you until your gut and your heart and your chest trill with instinctual responses. The direction this series is headed, informed by this story and the preview at the end of it, is going to allow this author to display what she is amazing at: visceral reactions and one hell of a juicily twisty story. This story was a necessary stepping stone, a piece to complete the pathway, to so much more, and I am equally nervous and thrilled to see what Ashley has under her powerful sleeves next for Chaos.

Rosalie put everything on the line to report about her boyfriend’s club to their rival, Chaos, but she felt like she had no choice because of the choices he was making. But though she knew the price if she was caught, what Rosalie failed to take into account was that she was growing further away from her boyfriend and Bounty, and closer to Chaos and Emmett “Snapper” Kavanagh. But when her deception is discovered and she pays the price, Rosalie’s trust in the biker world is thoroughly shaken even though it’s also the only world she’s ever known. Snapper is ready to claim Rosalie as his. He saw what happened when she was with Shy and wants to be the man she is looking for.

I was glad Rosalie had a chance to shine on her own. She got a bit of a bad rap in Own the Wind by being the one Shy tried things out with before he admitted his feelings for Tabby. Readers wanted Shy and Tabby together, and Rosalie was just in the way. All she wanted was a man like her father, and thought she had found it in Shy. I love that Snapper saw her, even then, and wanted to be that man for her. Timing wasn’t right though, and when he finally gets his chance he isn’t willing to take it slow, except to prove to her that he is serious.

This was a great mix of drama and heat. The battle between Chaos, Bounty, and other forces kept things moving in one direction while the chemistry between Rosalie and Snapper kept it moving in another. There was always something going on, but not so much that the story got bogged down. It is a novella that packs as much into it’s pages as possible without moving into KA novel length territory.

I was surprised how quickly I was immersed back into the Chaos world. It has been some time since I was in the thick of this series, but the characters and situations came right back. As a 1001 Dark Nights story, Rough Ride stands alone nicely. As a piece of the Chaos series, it fits in nicely. Whether a reader is new to Chaos or a long time fan, Rough Ride is a fantastic ride to find protection, family, and love.

Surprisingly dark along with the sexy and sweet! This series is one of my favorites.

“You know,” she carried on, “in a perfect world, there are rules and everyone abides by them. There is good and there is bad and everyone understands which is which. There is dark and there is light and each person understands which they carry inside them. But this isn’t a perfect world, Rosalie, and it never will be. In every case, in every instance, in every nook and cranny on this planet, the lines are blurred. Each person has to decide their version of what is right and what is not. And so far, you haven’t told me anything that, according to my version, isn’t right about Snapper Kavanaugh or his Club.”

'Rough Ride' is a novella set within the Chaos Motorcycle Club. I usually do not read novellas unless they are about my favorites and this 1001 Nights novella certainly piqued my curiosity. Snapper is a member of the Chaos MC and Rosalie first appeared in 'Own the Wind' (which I LOVED and highly recommend!) She was a sweet character who was cast aside by Shy so that he could be with the love of his life, Tabby Allen. Rosalie has a lot of love to give but hasn't had the best luck with her men.

Kristen Ashley does not shy away from the gritty, often violent world of motorcycle clubs. But she always, ALWAYS, balances out the dark with loyalty, love. family and friendship.

“It worked out in the end,” I told him.

“What?” he asked.

“I found the one who was perfect for me.”

He didn’t seem sated or amused or anything right then.

He stared down at me under him, his body connected with mine, and he looked at me in a way that I knew that earlier, he had not lied.

I was his world."

There is a lot of action, love, steaminess and Alpha goodness packed into this short story. If you are a fan of Ms. Ashley's stories, then welcome back to the Chaos world. You will love it!

"You’re gonna be in my life and I’m gonna be in yours. Bank on it."

Finally, Snapper and Rosalie!!!! Could it get any better? I was actually nervous about Kit giving us this one folks. I mean, Rosie was once Shy’s girl. She had been with another brother- and not like some club bunny- she was his girl. Not his old lady, but still. She was there. She was known to Chaos. So, when I saw that Snapper was gonna be her new end- I was a little scared.
I shouldn’t have been.
How silly was I.
This is Kristen Ashley, after all. The queen. Now before her, people.
If anyone can write a story like this- she can. She did. And she freaking rocked it. Rocked it. It was everything. Everything we’d ever want from KA.
The sisterhood didn’t suffer like we’d feared. Tab and Rosie didn’t come to blows. Why? What? How? Because they’re both Chaos. And Chaos is family. Chaos is brotherhood. And apparently, sisterhood. And Tab made it very clear early on, after Rosie’s attack, that Rosie is part of that sisterhood. So regardless of what had transpired previously with her and Shy- the sisterhood was stronger.
More of the story seemed to unfold as to what Chaos is facing in their future- what may be coming for them, and what ugly forces might be rearing their hands soon. It left some unanswered questions, it gave me some theories at the end- theories that parts of me hope aren’t true, because they’re so terrible to imagine. But at the same time, part of me hopes they are, because they’d explain so much, they’d bring closure to so many.
But I love that Kit is able to do that. No other author is able to make me feel their words as she can. I absorb them- soul deep. Her books resonate with me like no others, and the Chaos books seem to even more. So, every time another couple gets their story told, it brings a happy sigh to my heart. I couldn’t ask for more than that.

There are just books that you start reading and immediately feel like you've returned home. That's what it feels like when I read a Chaos book. Beginning with the Dream Man series, and several other connecting series from the author, I've grown to love this group of rough riders.

This book continues the path the previous had, as the Chaos gang navigate old and new enemies, trying to stay clean, but stepping outside those lines when a woman or member's life is threatened.

Rosalie "Rosie" Holloway has had a complicated past with Chaos. As the former "love" interest of Shy, I expected some drama there, since we all know how and who he moved on with. But rest assured, the drama focuses on a new man. One that she has hidden feelings for, for some time. There are some aspects of the story that frustrated me, since it is clear that that man, Everett "Snapper" Kavanaugh, shares the same feelings. Yet she pushes him away early on.

Although Snap lays out his cards early on, he is willing to give her some space. But come on, this is a KA Alpha. That time and space only last so long before it is time to face the music. Given all that he is offering, Rosie had to feel a bit foolish when his feelings are laid out.

"I'm in deep with you."

This is a fairly short book by KA standards, so the sweet comes fairly quick and gives the reader plenty of swoon-worthy moments. But that is not to say there isn't danger for this couple.

I'll admit that I was surprised by the ending. It had a darkish feel to it and was a bit of a cliffy. So, I can only hope the next Chaos book is released soon to get some answers.

If you a Chaos fan, you'll enjoy this ride, even it's a little rough at times.

I read Own the Wind by Kristen Ashely when it first released years ago and fell in love with Shy and the Chaos family. Shy is my first love, but after reading Rough Ride, I have mad love for Snapper! I don't read a lot of MC books, but I love Chaos. Kristen writes these characters with heart, depth, passion and values. They love their club. They love their women. Snapper and Rosie have a history. He's had a thing for her since he saw her with Shy years ago. But the time was never right. Then he was working with her against Bounty. Long phone calls learning about each other. Nothing physical. Then she was taken down by her ex and left bloody and beaten. Snapper vows to protect her at all costs and then he's making his move. Finally claiming his woman. Rosie is not as ready as Snapper. She's afraid. She doesn’t want Snapper to think he's a rebound because he's not. He's everything. Can she look past the scars in the mirror and trust Snapper with her heart? Will Snapper give her the words she needs to see his love is real? Oh man. I loved this story! Snapper is everything. From his sexy good looks, his soft spoken words, his domineering way and oh, the hair. I love the hair. He's honest, gorgeous, forceful and sexy (it needed to be mentioned twice). I loved the way he talked to her. Telling her she's his woman. Telling her how it's going to be. And when he called her honey…I melted. Every time! Rosie is stronger than she thinks. She may be bent, but she's not broken. She just had to let it all sink in to see that Snapper is it for her. I loved watching their story unfold. It was a beautiful rough ride that left me smiling and wanting more!

“I received a free review copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.”

If you love the Chaos MC, then you will enjoy the ride! Being back with this group of loyal, family loving men who treat their women like queens was great!

Although KA tried her hardest to explain who everyone was, and their relationships if you didn’t know or could not remember then this book would’ve confused you. The side characters play a huge role in the narrative and can’t simply be ignored. This is in no way a stand alone novel!

One thing I loved was that Snapper and Rosie’s relationship developed over time and was based not on the physical but on them getting to know each other. By the time they get together, their relationship is pretty cemented – at least for Snapper.

Snapper is my kind of biker, tough, loyal, sweet and low key. He’d much prefer snuggling on the couch with his woman and a good book, than being loud and rambunctious. Where can I find my own Snap?

Rosie has had a string of bad luck when it comes to men, so it’s not surprising she wants to take things slowly. She knows what a huge responsibility and what it means to be an old lady, she’s not taking it lightly.

What I liked most about these two as a couple, was that they compliment each other. Rosie and Snap are just what the other needs!

There wasn’t much plot that went on in this novel, it was more about Rosie’s internal battle over the choices she’s made and her coming to terms with being Snapper’s old lady.

The ending… confused the cr@p out of me… and made me more annoyed than intrigued.

Happy Reading!

There is no better feeling than after reading Kristen Ashley’s words. Every single time I pick up one of her books it’s like a shot of caffeine goes through me and I feel ridiculously rejuvenated. I had a taste of Rosalie and Snapper’s story in Walk Through Fire and definitely wanted more. So I was so happy to get that Ms. Ashley gave us more in her upcoming release, Rough Ride which is part of 1001 Dark Nights novella.

The start of this book was heartbreaking to read and quite frankly it made Rosalie burrow herself deep in my heart so early on. Because this is a novella. We are obviously getting a quicker, more compact storyline. I thought this worked out great seeing as we already had some background to Snapper and Rosalie’s relationship.

This novella was short and sweet. You can’t help but fall in love with the protective way Snapper treats Rosalie. He encompasses exactly what is expected of a Kristen Ashley alpha male. Rough around the edges but so completely delicious. The sort that makes you want to jump inside the book and take on the heroine’s role yourself. Utterly swoon worthy. Their chemistry is both sweet and naughty. The very best of both worlds.

Rough Ride was a perfect novella that will make Chaos fans like myself hungry for more. I can’t wait to see how all of what’s been developing finally unfolds in this highly addictive MC series.

Everything you expect from a Chaos novel and more!
I love KA's MC world.
Sass and sarcasm combined with hotness, protectiveness, love, and family.

"...we take care of our own."

I enjoyed Rosie and Snapper's story—quick but filled to the brim with all I needed.
This story starts of with a bang...quite a few of them really.
When all hell breaks loose, Chaos won't leave a man...or in this case...woman behind.
They rally together and do whatever it takes to protect one of their own.

"Life, Rosie," he said gently, "is not about goin' it alone. It's about finding the right people to share it with who will make it better when it's good and be there to hold you steady when it's not."

Snapper! Ugh, what can I say? He is the quiet, sexy, man-bun wearing biker.
Hot as hell and loyal to the end!

"Only thing you don't know about me is the way my c**k feels buried inside you and only thing I don't know about you is how sweet you'll feel closed tight around me."

Super sweet, sexy, and like a walk down memory lane with all the previous characters present.
The epilogue had me smiling and feeling all sorts of warm and fuzzy... then it left me intrigued.
What does the future hold for Chaos?
I can't wait to find out!

Chaos is back with a vengeance!!!! Snap and Rosie are a match made! I love these two and their relationship is not all roses. If you have read any of Kristen Ashley Chaos novels, you know this is a MC Club that can be ruthless and protect what is theirs. Snap has claimed Rosie even if she does not want to admit it. Will she let go and let Snap in? Will he even give her a choice. Normally these men own up what they want, and it seems it may not be any different with Rosie.

The beginning of Rough Ride was heartbreaking. My eyes teared within the first few lines. I knew from page one, my heart would be fully invested. Throughout the story memories of previous books came flooding in! I felt like I have known Chaos my whole life, lol in reality a couple of years. We get a quick appearance from my favorite Rock Chick guys and gals. Rough Ride can be read as a stand alone, but reading other KA books will give you the background to these characters.

All in all, I was in complete awe over this book! The Heat Intensity was through the roof. The emotions you get will come out in waves. You do not know what to expect from one minute to the next. You will smile and laugh. I can not get enough and I am excited for the next Chaos book to come out this summer! Rough Ride deserves more than 5 stars!!

Rough Ride by Kristen Ashley is a Chaos Novella and part of the 1001 Dark Nights Series. This novella fits right in the 100 Drak Nights Series. " Once upon a time... " was a woman who had to find her place in the world. And a man who knew exactly what he wants and waits patiently to get it.

Meet Rosalie Holloway. She's a 28 year old waitress and informed the Chaos MC over months about the wereabouts, the ins and outs of a rival club, Bounty. Her boyfriend is a memeber of aforementioned club and when her betrayal is discovered the reaction is not a friendly one.
Everett - Snapper - Kavanagh is her contact to Chaos Club and he promised her protection. Snap is a good guy. He's centered and somehow his own island, he's grounded. Rosalie still has to found her middle. And the latest events weren't helpful.
While Rosalie is hesistant to accept help and trust ever again, the men and women of Chaos Club goes out on a limp to help her. They're like family and that you can feel in the words.
Rough Ride is a typical Kristen Ashley book, the men are not alpha, they're Alpha men, the heroines are strong and determined to get what they want too. And this mix, together with exceptional writing and a outstanding story makes these books so unique. I recommend the book and give 5 stars.

It is always a pleasure to write a review when being given the opportunity to read an arc of a release for Kristen Ashley. As one of the top three favorite authors she never disappoints.

Rough Ride is a novella in the Chaos series. Ms. Ashley writes wonderful MC romance stories that captivate. Snapper the hero in this story has been in love with the heroine Rosalie for quite some time and has had to bide his time for the perfect opportunity. Rosalie has suffered much in her life and the time has finally come where someone will keep her safe and treasure her heart. As usual I could have taken a lot more of Miss Ashley’s storytelling as I love it and enjoy it so much. It’s a quick read there is very little I can say as I want this to be spoiler free. The ending without being a true cliffhanger, does leave several questions and offers openings for other characters to have their own story, yippee more of Chaos is yet to come and i can never get enough lol. Gimme gimme.

Rough Ride can be read as a standalone but for more enjoyment I do recommend you commence with the first release in the chaos series. For the best experience visit her Author site recommended reading order list, and start there you will not be sorry you did.

I am not generally a fan of MC romanes but I am a fan of Kristen Ashley and her alpha heroes, and this novella certainly makes me wan to go back and check out the rest of the series.

Snapper and Rosie are truly great characters. I enjoyed how Snapper had the protective, dominant hero attributes we have come to expect from KA, but there is also this incredibly soft side to his character which is completely endearing. Rosie has a rough road in this novel, but her dedication to make it on her own made me love her as a heroine. I also really liked the two of them together. Their friendship and chemistry is a fantastic.

Kristen Ashley certainly doesn't waster time diving right into the story, which is good since it is a novella. The action-packed beginning will draw readers in immediately, and the recovery and connection of Snapper and Rosie will keep readers engaged. I know the ending will have readers dying for whatever she has coming next for the Chaos Motorcycle Club.

Whether or not you are a fan of MC romances, Rough Ride is definitely a novella to one-click. It gives you a taste of the MC world with its heroes and heroines, and bit a KA novel. Fair warning, though, she is going to leave you wanting more.

THIS. BOOK. GAH! I have no idea where to start! I am LOVE with EVERYTHING that KA writes! I LOVE all her words and this book is no exception. I will be honest and say that I was on the fence about Rosalie and Snapper being together after her past relationship with Shy, but in true KA fashion she smoothed it over and everything worked.

Snapper. OH Snapper! Where to I even begin... Not your typical biker. He grew up with a loving and stable family, a good head on his shoulders, a quiet thinker who observes his surroundings. Snapper is the type of guy who doesn't talk much but when he does you better stop and listen, because its going to be good.

Rosalie is no stranger to being involved with a MC. First her Daddy, then Shy, then the man who turned her over to his club. She comfortable in her own skin. The thing that I loved the most is that her and Snapper built their relationship over phone calls. Getting to know the real person on the other end of the phone.

I was NOT prepared for that ending! But I just know that KA will make it all okay. Bring on Hound and Keely!

5 CHAOS STARS!

While I really enjoy Motorcycle Club romances, I've always had a hard time reading Ms. Ashley's work on the Chaos series. I've always had one problem or another with it, though the series has been slowly improving for me. This story, though, she totally nailed it!

I cried throughout the entire story, I was that invested in the characters. I loved how she came back around to the story of Rosalie, and I loved how she handled Rosalie's "journey". The shift from "I hate Snap" to "I've got feelings for him" was too abrupt in my opinion, but it was easy to over look in the face of Snap's explanation about family. The soft ending of the book had me rolling on the floor in laughter, as much as I could through my tears. The final ending, though, left me confused, even though I knew it was supposed to entice readers to the next book in the series.

I would highly recommend reading this, although I don't think it works as a stand alone story. It relies too much on Shy and Tab's story from Own the Wind for that, though I think it really adds a lot to the Chaos Universe.

Ok, so Rosalie isn't my favorite character, but when I saw that she was getting a novella and with Snapper, well I definitely wanted to give this novella a try, because KA has been known to change my opinion on characters, and she did exactly that with this novella.

This novella started off just like any other KA book; strong, intriguing and intense. I was immediately sucked back into the world of Chaos and loving it. I even felt bad for what Rosalie was put through when she was only trying to help her man. Snapper is a very tenacious and intense man. He rattled me sometimes and other times, he made me swoon.

Now, with all of that said, I hated how it ended, I felt like it wasn't supposed to end there and I was kind of confused by the ending too. I also felt like after Snapper and Rosalie officially became an item, the story and the characters just didn't go anywhere and I was kind of disappointed in that, especially since the beginning was so gripping. Now, that sneak peek in the back of the book for the next Chaos book, oh boy, it got me all excited!!!

Soooo this is my first "Chaos" book and I'm totally going to go and grab the previous ones in the series. Kristen does it again in creating characters that the readers will fall for and a story that will have you coming for more!!! I really enjoyed it and you will too!!

ROUGH RIDE as a litle bit of everything that we've come to know and love from Kristen's books and though its a novella, you still get a complete story.

Remember how I said that this was the first one in the CHAOS series that I've read? With that said, I was a tad bit lost and that did take a bit of my "OMG this totally rocks" sort of feeling but not enough to have me stop or not want to read the series from the start. While its said that this could be read as a standalone, I think readers would enjoy it much more.

I didn't realize this one was coming out, but saw the promos and gave it a shot. It's just not good. After the first 30 pages its so boring, I could barely get through it and then a cliff-hanger. Wow, way to disappoint a reader. It's on me for not spotting that it would. I actually like Novellas if they are paced well and have fully-formed characters. This isn't and doesn't. I think I am now officially done with KA. I loved her series (didn't read the erotica ones), but the last few installments of each haven't been good. The Time Inbetween was a huge disappointment after The Will. Not that the author is likely to ever come across this review- but I so miss the dramatic tension of your earlier works. The last few have been snore-fests. Take the paragraphs and paragraphs of lectures out of this one and you have plenty of space for plot.

I didn't like this one at all. I didn't care about Rosalie and Snapper's story. Nothing that happened pulled me into the story or made me want to keep reading, except the epilogue which then left me hanging. Big fat no and a huge disappointment for me. I wish the old KA would come back- back when she was self published her stories were so good.

Rough Ride was the perfect, snack sized, tease in the world of Chaos Motorcycle Club. If you haven't read the Chaos Series, I highly recommend it!
If you have read the series then you should be able to recall Rosalie.
Rosalie has had a rough go at life: she lost her father, was dumped for another woman, and then THIS!
Snapper has been patiently waiting for his opportunity...

This was a quick, complete, read. I loved the mention of other Kristen Ashley characters, I loved the women of Chaos coming out in full force. I wanted more to advance the Chaos story-line, and in that I was a bit disappointed. Overall this was a great introduction to the world, and men, of Chaos!

You can't go wrong with a KA book never! This is Snapper and Rosalie’s story. I really enjoyed getting to know this couple, they were great together!Rough Ride is fast paced, with action, drama and a great romance! It is a sweet, sexy and a little bit dark story!Rosalie is a sweet heroine and Snapper is a little bit different from the rest men in this series, I really like him!

"You’ve been jacked around since your daddy died and I don’t think either man meant to do you wrong but in the end they did. And I’m the man who’s gonna do you right, Rosalie. With me, that rough ride is gonna end, baby. "

I love this series a lot and if you haven't read them you are loosing all the fun!If you are looking for a wild ride and an emotional rollercoaster check these bikers!

Ohhhh Snapper - be still my heart! With this only being a novella, it packed a HUGE punch! I didn't know how this would play out with Rosalie's past with the club, but in typical KA fashion, she worked it out, so while it was heartbreaking, Rosalie and Snapper gave you something to believe in. Rosalie was not an easy sell, but Snapper gave her time, patience, and most importantly love. Being a daddy's girl and losing him recently, I totally identified with Rosalie - she was looking for love and stability. Her history, albeit twisted and fraught with pain, with men led her to the right man who could give her the love and security she was searching for. I loved this story and only wish I could've had more.

4.5 Stars.

I soaked up this novella while on a plane and was so thankful it broke me out of my nearly two month reading slump.

Why I loved it you might be wondering?

Well, if you've read other Chaos books you know and love the other characters so you'll understand when I say it's like reuniting with book family. All of our favorite characters are there and they all rally together to help Rosealie out when her boyfriend finds out she's been informing on him and his club.

“It seemed Rosie has bad taste in men.”

Rough Ride
Kindle Loc. 363 of 3090

Rosalie (Rosie) Holloway doesn’t really have bad taste in men, well, okay she does, but that’s because she’s still searching for someone to fill the hole in her heart caused by her father’s death. Looking for someone to love her unconditionally has resulted in a series of sour relationships, and one life-threatening event for Rosie.

Standing on the sidelines, watching as the woman of his heart tries to work through her grief is gorgeous biker guy, Everett (Snapper) Kavanaugh. A member of the Denver-based bike club, Chaos, Snapper’s been waiting for the right time to approach Rosie, quietly watching over her as she hooks-up with men from rival bike club, Bounty.

Inevitably, Rosie finds herself in the middle of the very bad blood that exists between Chaos and Bounty, and she becomes the victim of some seriously horrific retribution.

Snapper is late to the brutal scene, but a bloodied and battered Rosie cements his commitment to never leave her side. Now, all he has to do is convince Rosie that she needs him as much as he needs her.

Kristen Ashley’s Rough Ride is the fifth book in her Chaos Series and is the latest offering in the 1,001 Dark Nights Series.

While I’m a fan of Kristen Ashley (adored Rock Chick Reawakening), Rough Ride was a rough read for yours truly, and for several reasons; the primary one being that this is not a stand alone story. A reader new to the Chaos Series (me) is better served starting with the first novel, Own the Wind, and going forward in sequential order.

This reader was bombarded with character introductions both at the beginning of the story, as well as at the end of the story. While a novella like Rough Ride often serves to tell the story of minor characters introduced in an earlier novel, and often sets up a conflict in the series that will be resolved in an upcoming novel, the number of characters appearing in this story required a scorecard — it was that distracting.

Secondly, Rosie and Snapper — where do I begin?

Kristen Ashley writes some terrific characters (and the ancillary characters in Rough Ride are stellar), but wrapping my head around the character of Rosie and her thought processes was taxing.

Throughout the novella, I was questioning Rosie’s mental state, and I mean no disrespect to the character or the author — but, really, Rosie, get some help before you jump into the next set of hunky biceps — if he really loves you, he’ll understand.

Which brings me to Snapper … who’s been watching Rosie self-destruct, knowing all along they were meant for each other: Dude, you needed to step up sooner, rather than later.

Finally, Rough Ride does gift the reader with an epilogue, complete with a nasty cliffie. ‘Not going to spoil it, but Kristen Ashley, that was absolutely evil …

If you are familiar with the Chaos Series, chances are you will appreciate Rosie and Snapper’s love story (along with its ensuing steam), as well as the many cameo appearances from other characters in Rough Ride.

Three and one-half stars.

Wow! Firstly, not sure I've ever rated a KA book three stars before. I did love the romance. Absolutely. And I expected this to be shorter than KA normal because hello, novella. But everyone was post action and the ending... I AM super glad I waited until right before the next book is released to read this though. That said, I was entertained and in love with Snapper and Rosalie. Just needed more action and more of a conclusion!

Overall good read. There were parts that were tough to swallow, the very beginning detailing how Rosalie was being beaten up by Bounty guys. It's heartbreaking and it did take awhile but everything tuallg she opened up to letting Chaos protect her and her budding relationship with Snap. The ending was confusing though and while they have their HEA it does have an open ending, my guess would be about Throttle.

Sad to say I totally forgot who Rosalie was until I was reading this novella. But I have always loved Snap and I was so glad he finally got his story. It did leave a little bit of a cliffhanger ending but I'm sure we will get to see the rest in the next full Chaos book. Can't wait!
