Great story sharing some powerful lessons about mind, body and spirit for our journey!
"The Will" inspired me to realize that anyone no matter the odds or background, who reached down deep to "their will" can accomplish anything they set their mind too and change if they lay a plan and take action!

Compelling read from the beginning on. I wanted to cheer for this spoiled brat-hoping he would try to overcome all of the time he wasted not getting to know his father. Mr. Ladling surpassed what I thought possible for his leading character, cheered on by unlikely family along the way!

Thoroughly enjoyed this book! Could not put it down! Very inspiring! I loved all the quotes, the triumph of good over evil, and the way that Josh's persistence and determination paid off, not just monetarily, but spiritually.

I totally enjoyed this book. It had me rooting for the main character through the entire book. It was light heartted, hopeful, had more than one wonderful message in it and I would highly recommend it

This book was very enjoyable in a very comfortable way. It follows a young man who has to complete a list of tasks in one year in order to receive the items from his fathers will. In some ways it was very formulaic. However, what makes this worth reading is that almost every character is rounded. The main protagonist is lazy and self centred, but is an intelligent and good person. You root for him even as he shows us quite clearly exactly why his father set up the conditions the way he did. The tasks are wide ranging and varied covering betterment in many areas; physical, spiritual and cerebral. In some ways it is a coming of age story.

It has twists and turns as the story sets itself up and you are led to believe he will use this person to help him complete that task… and then he doesn’t - it meanders somewhere else. It kept it from being too predictable.

There is nothing majorly traumatising or excitingly fierce. It is a very real world story. The list of tasks achievable with a will (pun intended), and as non-thrilling as this gentle tale is it has stayed with me. I was left feeling better after reading it and a list of tasks I may dip into myself.
