His For A Week: Bought is a short introduction to MCs Ben and Kimani, and served as the provocative prelude to the His For A Week series. Both MCs come across as strong, intelligent people. And while the sex slave auction scenario has been played before, the author added a hot, involuntary buyer and an intrepid, undercover journalist seeking a blockbusting story and retribution. The chemistry between Ben & Kimani is strong and the sexy times are hot. The antagonist is such a jerk that you love to hate him. The short ends on a cliffhanger and it definitely leaves you wanting the next installment.

Em Brown certainly knows how to stir things Up! Her latest story "his for a week:bought" is the first installment of what is ramping up to be hot enough to melt your reader both with scenes and back story.  Can't wait for the rest.

I never really got into this book which abruptly ended. The characters were either completely shallow, incredibly naive, or annoying feminist crying racism. Start with new characters and there could be a story line to salvage. I have enjoyed this authors stories in the past so this was quiet a disappointment. I was given the book for free to review. I doubt I would have made it through the first couple of chapters if it weren't for that. I gave two stars because I think there is a good story line that could make for a good story. The characters need lots of work!

Enticing story. Characters definitely different and author really builds each till you feel you know them. Fun read and hard to put down - at end you want to see more series. Really looking forward to "the rest of the story.

It was so refreshing that the main characters were of ethnic backgrounds....Asian and Africa-American. The chemistry between them is strong, so much so that it left me wanting more. The story moves rather slowly for my taste. I also get impatient with these short books. I’d rather wait for the entire series to come out and buy it in its entirety than to have to read a great story like this one in a segmented manner. Having said all of this, I’d still recommend the book due to its intriguing characters and story line. Can’t wait to learn Ben’s and Kimani’s fate!

Kimani gets more than she bargains for when she goes undercover in the Scarlet Auction. A journalist, she decides that her breakthrough story will get her a chance as a reporter with the San Francisco Tribune. But things go sideways when she is bid on, along with another slave, by an unscrupulous man and taken to his cabin. Kimani has no experience with real kink yet agrees to hardcore BDSM. Her plan is to get out before sex actually happens, but clearly, her world is about to change with eyes wide open. A new gentlemen Ben Lee arrives at the cabin. He is nothing like Jake, the man who bought her can she trust him to keep her safe and unharmed for the week? Ben assumes Kimani is a willing slave, and he promises her bliss during their stay.

Kimani who wants to be an investigative reporter needs a big story. After she happened to see her roommate’s condition after being with someone from the Scarlet Auction. Kimani decides to enter the auction to expose it and what is happening to the women who were sold for a week to rich billionaires. Kimani ends up with Ben, a very dominant alpha. It has some very steamy sexy scenes. This book ends in a cliff hanger. I agreed to review this book as an ARC.

This story is about a journalist trying to get the scoop on what she thinks is a harmful auction where women are bought for a week. In the end she runs in to some real BDSM in the for of Benjamin Lee. Though there are also folks who do not know what they are doing who it can be uncomfortable to read about

Some of the supporting characters seem a little over the top but I really like the main couple and am intrigued on what will happen next

I really enjoyed the start of this story and love Kimani and Ben. I hate having to read the story in installments, but it does keep the interest going. I look forward to seeing the relationship develop between Ben and Kimani and see how she ends up explaining why she was a part of the auction and what she does when her research is done!

I LOVE Em Brown. Many discount books are meet, hot monkey sex, done. Em builds a back story that draws you in, hot steamy scenes, and a REAL plot. While I personally prefer a whole novel vs a story in serial format, Em truly ROCKS!! I cannot wait for the next installment!!!!

I enjoyed the story. It was brief. Like an appetizer. To get to the main course and to see what happens to the main characters you must wait for the next book. I though will follow the series to see what happens next!

Good start. Only one problem...it ended before it really gat started...or was this just supposed to be a tease for the next book? I like to see books that are self contained, but may be part of a series with related characters and stories. Not soap-opera books with cliff hanger endings.

Started out really good but ended on a cliffhanger. If there were a warning, I missed it! Loved the H/h and the telling of their story. Ben is Chinese and Kimari is African American. Also, has a bad guy. Debating whether to buy the next installment but I really like where this is going. The writing and editing are good too. Nothing to interfere with the telling of their story. Ended on day 3 of his for a week. I hate cliffhangers!!!!

This is a different kind of story with auction being involved. Kimani goes undercover and may have gotten more than what she had bargain for being auction off to a guy she knows nothing about. She had no clue how she would not get a say or bring anything with her after the auction for the person who purchase her. She keeps reminding herself this is for a story to help her career and maybe stop the guys that had bought her room mate at an auction and was beaten badly and would not report the incident. Jake the original person who purchase Kimani at the auction is not the one who she ends up with. Ben seems to be her savior until he follows Jake lead at how he treats the girl(s) her purchase for a week to do with as he please with no arguments. I wasn’t ready for the story to end. I wanted to see if Kimani would come clean to Ben about her being undercover or if he tells her he already knows what she up to. This book does end in cliffhanger.

Kimani is a free lance journalist who will auction herself for one week to get a story. This is a short story with a cliffhanger that will leave you wanting way more out of this story. I voluntarily reviewed an arc.
