Snow Like Ashes
Snow Like Ashes

Review:I have been hearing so much about this book and the sequel, Ice Like Fire, that I decided to pick it up at the library. I am soooooooo glad that I did.

The story follows, Meira, a Winterian refugee who was one of the few that escaped the King of Spring’s attack. Meira is an orphan and has been raised by William. Meira has called him “Sir” since the time she made the mistake of calling him father.

I liked the fiercely headstrong Meira we got to know as the book progressed. She is ce... Read more

She's the One (Just Everyday Heroes: Night Shift)
She's the One (Just Everyday Heroes: Night Shift)

Review:Erin Nicholas has written a wonderfully delightful yet sexy start to what promises to be an entertaining series with She's the One. With its fast paced interactions and witty, rapid fire dialogue this story kept me fully immersed in its ragtag collection of friends and family butting heads while falling in and out of love. Ryan and Amanda are just two of this colorful cast of characters and it was a fun yet emotional journey for them to reach their HEA.

Amanda reminded me of myself in t... Read more

The Wicked City: A Novel
The Wicked City: A Novel

Review:As usual, Beatriz Williams doesn't disappoint. What's not to love about a story set in NYC in a gin joint during the Roaring 20s? The main character, Geneva "Gin" Kelly is strong, brave, and independent. You can't help but be drawn in by her story, her past, and the potential embodied by her future. She's darker than many of the leads in Williams other novels, and her story is dark as well. She comes from Maryland and leaves for NYC to distance herself from her step-father and the threat he po... Read more

Fallen (Chronicles Of The Fallen Book 1)
Fallen (Chronicles Of The Fallen Book 1)

Review:This book caught my attention from the very beginning and held it all the way through. It was exciting and unpredictable...sit on the edge of your seat kind of reading. Lisa, the main character, was a nice change from the norm. She was strong, smart and self-sufficient...attributes she would need for what was to come. This was a story of good and evil, love and true sacrifice, one that I didn't want to end. Be prepared to reconcile yourself to the unexpected choices that the characters have to f... Read more

Fallen Crest Christmas
Fallen Crest Christmas

Review:Super quick read for me. I knocked it over in 10 minutes so I'm glad it was a freebie. Usual Tijan style. Well formatted and editing was reasonably tight.

I've got to be honest, I'm not a fan of Sam. I totally don't get the whole 'Poor Sam. She's so hard done by the world.' It's a little tired for me. She has the love and devotion of a strong circle of peeps. I figure she just needs to build a bridge and get over it.

This snippet felt like a lead in to Logan's story and I got a he'... Read more
