This book caught my attention from the very beginning and held it all the way through. It was exciting and unpredictable...sit on the edge of your seat kind of reading. Lisa, the main character, was a nice change from the norm. She was strong, smart and self-sufficient...attributes she would need for what was to come. This was a story of good and evil, love and true sacrifice, one that I didn't want to end. Be prepared to reconcile yourself to the unexpected choices that the characters have to face. Ask yourself how much would you sacrifice for real love.

I really enjoyed this the Devil vs. Angel. I am not normally a fan of the paranormal but Samuel vs. Alex was unbelievabley good and the sex scenes between Alex and Lisa were steamy. I really loved the way the book ended and am looking forward to her next book. 2 Hot guys one utterly evil and the other an Angel what more could u want :)

Loved the Life's events of Lisa, similar to ones of our own lives. There's always a positive with a negative. We could only hope that we find out perfect one here on earth that would give up himself even just to love the one he always protected since time! Only wished for his (Alex) first sexual experience that it would've been a bit more passionate and profound.

I was given a copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

This book was a mixed bag for me. After reading the synopsis and checking out the awesome cover, I was super excited to get started. It wasn't as phenomenal as I hoped, but it was definitely worth a read. The overall storyline was fantastic, but the execution fell a bit flat. Part of my problem is that I'm not a fan of books written in third person (which is completely not the authors fault). I don't know what it is, but third person writing makes me cringe.

I think the characters needed a bit more development in the personality department and there should be a lot less description of unneccessary details. Other than that, if you power through it, you'll love it! The book ends in a cliffhanger that leaves you searching for the next book! I can't wait until the next one comes out.

Fallen (Chronicles of Fallen #1) by Julie Morgan

5 out of 5 stars

Would you take a plunge from Heaven to keep the one you love? Or would you dive into the depths of Hell to save them from an eternity in the fiery pits? Alex did both in order to have Lisa in his life.

Lisa has been working her dream job at a PR firm in New York and steadily climbing the corporate ladder over the years. Everything is going wonderfully until her boss begins hinting around at wanting some added benefits of his own and making moves toward achieving his goal. After a few unexplained events and some very disturbing occasions in which Lisa swore she was hallucinating, she meets Alex and is taken on a courtship like no other.

Alex is handsome, charming, fun, and incredibly sweet with his bright blue eyes and easy smile so it's no wonder that Lisa (and the reader) begins to fall for him quickly. What she doesn't realize is that Alex is not exactly what he seems and neither is her boss, Samuel. She has every reason to question life as she knows it.

Always trust your gut when it comes to first impressions and those sneaky feelings you get from time to time!! I absolutely LOVE the imagery that Morgan provided in Fallen. While reading Lisa and Alex's story, I strolled through Central Park, gazed upon Lady Liberty, and dined at a very unique Greek restaurant where the employees provide the entertainment while you enjoyed your meal. Third person stories usually don't hold my attention very well due to their limited insight but this one had me captivated from the first page. I'm a sucker for details and this one is definitely one of the best!!!!!!! And the smokin' hot seduction/attempts weren't too bad either!!!

This is book 1 in the chronicles of the fallen series.

This book I quite well written. It should keep you reading from start to finish and wanting the next book in the series.

Lisa goes for a dream job interview at Elite PR & Marketing and meets their CEO Samuel and is instantly smitten, she gets the her dream job and doesn't read the contract thoroughly because she is so excited but doesn't pay heed to it at all as she read just the best bits.

She goes out with her best friend to celebrate but goes home early as she starts to see things out of the norm. When she is there she see things in the bathroom mirror but turns around and nothing is there, she has a shower and feels someone's hand over her massaging and touching places her hands weren't on. She jumps out and still nothing there.

Same things happen when she goes to work. She has a meeting with Samuel and it feels like he is touching her but he is on the other side of the room. She goes home again thinking she is going insane.

When at home she goes into the mailroom and gets her letters and meets Alex a new tenant at the apartments. They hit it off and she shows him all the sites around town.

She is at a PR bash and starts cuddling up to Samuel who shows he likes her. But ends up going home on her own. She must now decide who she likes more, Alex or Samuel.

Story starts out with Lisa Adams being offered the job of a lifetime at a very high-end PR firm. Elite PR & Marketing. Although when she signed the dotted line at the bottom of her contract, she had no idea she'd be signing her soul away to one of the most lethal and seductive demons of the underworld.

Then we fast-forward 5 years to where Lisa has worked her way up the corporate ladder. She's beautiful, has a great home, and the perfect job. Just not the perfect love life, and this is where the plot thickens. Her boss, Samuel, starts making advances on her, makes her feel sexy and desirable, but at the same time, she doesn't want to go down this route for fear of jeopardizing her career. Also poor Lisa starts to think that she's somehow gone bat-s*** crazy with the hallucinations she begins to have. Hooded men with eyes that glow red, faucets that empty out pools of blood instead of clear water.

Just Samuel, her boss, biding his time – messing with Lisa as he waits to take what's rightfully his, but then walks Alex into Lisa's life.

And Alex is a man that I believe all women want to have walk into their life. I adored his character, he's sweet, the perfect gentleman, and sexy. He's the positive that will void all of the negative right out of Lisa's life, AKA – Lisa's Guardian Angel, who's been in love with her since birth, but once she signed her soul away, he chose to join the human realm to protect her. To do whatever it takes to ensure she won't be taken away from him. I just felt so sorry for him every time he and Lisa would kiss, since with him being an Angel, his lips would burn from her touch, but then I was super glad the moment that changed! Ha-ha!

I enjoyed this story very much, the author had a lot of nice details and explained everything perfectly. I look forward to reading the second book (and more) in the series!! If you like stories with Angels/ Fallen Angels, you'll love it!

I especially loved the size she depicted Lucifer to be, that would be a sight to see for sure!

There are a lot of quotes / one-liners that I loved and chuckled from in this book! Here are a few.

Laid back is what Lisa enjoys, and laid back is exactly what Alex is...all wrapped up in a bow of sexy.
Yes, yes Alex is all wrapped up in a nice big shiny red bow of sexy! LOL

She wants to kiss him, she wants to embrace him, she wants her breathing to become difficult, she wants her heart to race out of control. – Looooooove that!

Looking at her, he sees the woman he's fallen in love with, the woman he fell from Heaven for, the woman he went to Hell to save. – Alex thinking about Lisa, swoooon!

*I recieved an ARC of this book free from the author in exchange for an honest review.*

Julie Morgan has a promising series on her hands. In the beginning I was "Team Samuel" (because who doesn't love a naughty bad-boy?) but as the book progressed and I was introduced to Alex (and all his charming, endearing qualities), I gladly changed teams and am now a proud member of "Team Alex!"

The beginning of the book was a little slow-paced for me. I wasn't really sure what to think about Samuel (besides the naughty, sexy, bad boy stuff) and I wasn't really sure where the book was going...BUT once Lisa met Alex, the book really picked up for me!

I'm a sucker for a great "Good vs Evil" book and this one definitely delivers! The world building is fantastic and the way the author describes the surroundings/events, helps you vividly picture everything. The plot took a few turns I wasn't expecting, which was a nice surprise (I hate when I'm not even 1/2 way through a book and can tell you everything that is GOING to happen).

I was pulling for Lisa, hoping she wouldn't allow herself to get further sucked into everything and found myself torn about what Alex should do. The ending is a bit of a cliffhanger but it didn't leave me ruing the day Morgan ever decided to write. It did, however, leave me wanting to read more and find out where the author will take the story and characters.

If you like a good Angels vs Demons, Good vs Evil type of book with a bit of sexy mixed in....this book is worth the read!

Fallen is the story of Lisa, a career women who just signed with the biggest PR firm in the area in an effort to boost her already successful career even higher. Lisa often thinks about taking a step back and finding a husband and raising a family, but that wish and her career are at odds and until she figures out how to balance them both she won't admit her feelings to anyone not even her best friend Jill who always supports her and makes sure that she gets out and enjoys herself to counter all the stress of her job.
Samuel is the owner of the firm she just joined and he seems to have a more than work related interest in her. Alex is the sweet old fashioned guy who lives in her building and always makes her feel save and happy and cared about, but he does not have Samuel's fire. Lisa doesn't realize it but the men are more different than she knows. Lisa begins having nightmares after she joins the firm and as they become more intense she find herself on edge more and more often. Lisa must keep her life in balance and figure out the next step before her dreams become to real and she looses her chance at the life she wants.

Lisa Adams seems to have it all. She's landed an awesome job with a hot boss. She's great at her job too and moves up through the ranks quickly! She doesn't know what she's signed up for though when she got the job. Her boss seems to be flirting with her more frequently too. She wants to keep it purely business. She doesn't want to screw up her career. Things seem to get a little foggy when he's around though. And there are other times when she thinks she sees things. And these things scare the crap out of her! Shes starting to believe shes losing her mind!

Alex just moved into her building and runs into her one morning in the mail room. Lisa thinks he's incredibly sexy. She strikes up a conversation with him and they end up spending the day together. Lisa thinks he's an amazing person and definitely wants to get to know him more. There seems to be some things that he's hiding.

But there is a turn of events. Things are set into motion that Lisa didn't know anything about and Alex ends up going to the ends of the earth to save her. He can't live without her and he knows that he has to bring her back.

This story was amazing and had me sucked in! When things took a turn for the worst I was crushed. And when things seemed to turn around for the good I cheered! Definitely a must read if you love paranormal romance that involves angels and demons

For awhile there I wasn't sure if I was team Samuel or team Alex even after one of them went naughty I still couldn't make up my mind. Samuel that naughty little boy is so flirty, "bringing her hand to his lips, he kisses it softly, never breaking eye contact. "You don't look so bad yourself." He winks and leans in, whispering, "You look stunning. I can't keep my eyes off of you." Then there was Alex who at some parts were equally as naughty, "I want to be inside of you. I want to feel you around me." He grinds his hardened length against her." Then there was again Samuel, "you are mine tonight, Lisa." His voice floats through her mind, the veil still around the two of them. His voice echoes as he speaks. "Only I shall have you. No one else will see you. No one else will know you've returned home with me. It will only be you and me." So that may be been a tad bit freaky. Then there was Alex who can be such a tease at times, "I'm not sure if I like it when you laugh after sex Lisa." I suppose I was team Alex he was the sweeter one out of the two.

So I love Lisa. She's a great main character gal. This story is greatly written. Definitely a page turner. I kept wanting to know what happens next. I can't wait to read the next book. In the Chronicles. At first I loved Samuel, was definitely #TeamSamuel then he ends up ticking me off about half way through. I was hoping he would redeem himself but he didn't. However at the moment Samuel disappointed me, I fell in love with Alex. He sacrificed something huge for the one he loves. This is when I became #TeamAlex. Julie is a great writer. I definitely recommend this book and others.

Lisa Adams is a young, bright, and persistent woman on her way to a promising career in marketing. She has worked hard to make it in a world where only a few names are remembered. She has fought her way up and she is going for the top.

What is the price for having your dreams? Does anyone ever really get to live live them? What about the cost of them? Do you get old the price before it's due?

Lisa will have to face all of these questions as her world is turned upside down. She will have to rethink everything she has ever known about the world. When Angels and Demons make their appearance in her world. Follow along Lisa's story to find out which side will win, and how much it will cost them.

The only thing I didn't like about this book is that book 2 wasn't already available! Don't miss out!!

I really enjoyed his story, it was interesting and very intriguing. The author did a great job on her debut novel, and I can’t wait to read the next book in this series.

Lisa got her dream job where she is working with the sexy Samuel, then she meets up with Alex. Little did she know that getting this job she was signing her soul away to evil. She was seeing things, and it was so interesting. I don’t want to give away the story, because it is worth the read.

The author’s details were spot on, it drew me into the book, and it was like I was in Lisa’s shoes. This is the type of book that is a page turner and you get sucked in on page one. I applaud the author for writing this book. If you’re into supernatural books this is the book for you. <3

I am such a nerd for stories on Angels and Demons. Many stories have been told of the classic battle between Heaven and Hell...but with different twists. And, in Fallen, I was hooked! I absolutely enjoyed Julie Morgan's twist on this classic theme. Her characters are well developed in which they each have specific individual personalities that I came to understand and love!

I don't like to reveal much and spoil it for others, but I loved the character development for each of Julie's characters as the story unfolded with the hidden dangers that lurked in the darkness and budding romance that came out from the light. By the end of the book, I was very eager to read the next book in this fascinating series!

If you love paranormal/angels & demons genre, then this is a series worth reading!

This is a triple review covering all three books.

It did take me a while to get into this series. I wasn’t really crazy about the voice used in these books. I prefer 3rd person to be past tense rather than present tense, it just didn’t read very smoothly, it didn’t feel natural and kept me from really getting into the story. There was also a lot of unnessasary descriptions. I don’t need to know how many spoonfuls of sugar everyone take or that they stirred it after adding the sugar. (Who wouldn’t?) Sometimes the descriptions would be so lengthly and detailed I would get distracted and not know who they were talking about until after the two pages of reading how one person got dressed.
However, I did enjoy the plot very much. Once it got going it

The first book was pretty slow to get going but it also had a lot of background and building of the world the characters lived in so that by the time you get to the next two there is quite a lot more going on.
The second book had less detail than the first, which was good, but still had a bit too much.
The take on fallen angels and the other supernatural creatures that were features was different than what you would expect which I really liked. It gave them a bit more depth. I loved how the plot became more detailed and the twists throughout the book were not super predictable.
The final book is no longer about Lisa and Alex, but about Samuel. It’s a great continuation to the story with some of the other characters who need their story told. This one could be read as a standalone (unlike the first two) and you’d understand it, but I think it would have more meaning if you read books 1 & 2 first. The amount of detail in this book has once again improved.
I probably would have rated this series a 5 if it didn’t go overboard with all the description. It had an original plot, which is something I love. But as much as I enjoyed it I found it a tiny bit difficult to get pulled in completely like I wanted. While it did get better from book to book, in the end it was still way too much, to the point where in some parts I didn’t know what was going on but I knew every detail of the setting and every move each character made. This series is great, but the amount of detail in much of it was a little too excessive, but it’s defiantly worth a read. I think this series speaks a lot of the amount of growth this author has had in their skill and would recommend this series to any who like Angels, demons and more.

3.5 out of 5

I was given this book as an ARC for an honest review.
I gave this book 5 angelic stars!

This is the first book in the Chronicles of the Fallen series.

And it is Alex and Lisa's story.

Lisa wants it all.. The perfect everything. Life, job, and boyfriend. When she gets an opportunity to have the perfect job she jumps at it.
She is so ecstatic when she gets the job, and she works hard to get the job done. A few years later, she starts to have encounters that are weird she starts seeing things, and hearing things. She sees red eyes, and feels like she is being touched. She has nightmares. And that is just the beginning.

Her boss makes passes at her all the time and it is just getting to be a little weird.

Enters Alex he is a breath of fresh air. He is everything she could ever ask for in a guy, and he seems to want her. He makes her feels special and loved and she wants him like no other. But she still feels a pull to her boss, and one that she can't seem to fight.

What will happen if she gives in? Or should I say when she gives in?
Will everything she has been working for become worthless? Will she find out too late just what she is fighting? And where does that leave Alex? Will he be able to save her in time? And if he does will he tell her the secret that he has been keeping from her?

I loved this book! I love books about Angels. Julie had me captivated from the first paragraph that I read. Lisa was a beautiful but naive woman. She expects as much honesty as she gives and that is not the way life is sometimes. It is manipulated and twisted to the way the world wants it. If your not careful you can fall into someone else's trap. And that is what happened with Lisa, before she knows it she is too far gone to fix any of it.

I am only going to say that I love Alex, he does the ultimate sacrifice for her. Without even thinking about it. He just does it! NOT for one SECOND did he ever doubt what he was going to do. Just bam ! DONE!

To me that is the true meaning of the word LOVE. Julie spun this story so well and left me wanting more. And there is a slight cliff hanger at the end but it is nothing that you can't get over.

It will leave you breathless, and in awe of a love that was meant to be. A beautifully written story about forbidden love, and true love, and evil !!

Just when you think you have it figured out. Watch out! You just might be surprised! Thank you Julie for an amazing story! Can't wait to read what you have up next for Lisa and Alex!! <3

Lisa signs her soul over to hell without realizing it. Her guardian angel, Alex, has always watched over her. He finally lets it be known, to be closer to her. He needs to protect her against Samuel, an incubus, and against all rules Alex falls in love. He loses his wings and becomes fallen. I like this genre and it was a good story, but some of it was hard to keep up with. The story line wasn't as smooth as I would have hoped for, but overall a good book. The cliffhanger pulled me in and got me more intrigued. I'm curious to see what happens in book two.

The battle between Heaven and Hell, good versus evil, Angel against Demon, Light fighting with Dark has always been a favorite of mine. This story deliveries just that with a couple twist along the way.

Lisa smart, pretty, determined and goal oriented knows what she wants out of life. She wants it all. When the opportunity of a lifetime in the form of a job that she will do anything for is handed to her on a silver platter, she jumps at the chance. Unaware that in time she will have to pay a price of it.

5 years later Samuel, Lisa’s mysterious lustful boss starts to make advances towards her, she is shocked but mostly at the fact she has an uncontrollable urge to give into him. Samuel wants Lisa in the worse way. He will pull out all of his tricks to get her in his bed.

Enter the handsome stranger Alex and new neighbor. As they begin to get to know more about each other, the lines of friendship blur. Alex knows he can not give into his feelings for Lisa. But she makes him want to give himself completely to her no matter the consequences or what it may cost him in the end.

As the story unfolds, Lisa is confused as to which man she wants. She is extremely attracted to both Samuel and Alex. There is something in each of them that draws her to them. But only one of them is good for her. Does Lisa pick the right man to live out her dreams with or does she end up in a nightmare for life?

Looking forward to what author Julie has in store for us in book 2 of this series. She was able to keep me intrigued throughout the book. Her description of events made you feel as though you were standing right there with the characters. And there was no way not to fall in love with the main characters, Lisa, Samuel & Alex.

Fallen is a paranormal romance. Angels and demons and love. The story draws you in with the mystery. There are twists and omg moments. Lisa is very ambitious. And Alex is perfect. I was asking myself throughout the whole story what was going to happen. I couldn't put it down. I'm looking forward to Redemption to see if my theories about the story line are correct. A great read!

Be careful what you wish for. Sometimes you actually get it and then realize that you should have been paying more attention all along.Things aren't always what they seem. It pays to read before you sign on the bottom line. “Fallen” is the story of Lisa Adams and what happens when things are too good to be true. Lisa works for a high powered marketing and public relations firm. When some unexplainable events begin taking place, Lisa realizes that you must always pay the piper. With the help of Alex, who has his own secrets to hide, Lisa must face her demons and fight for the life she wants.

With all the crazy mixed reviews - I really think this is one that you just need to take a chance on!

This one was on my "to be read" list for awhile and I'm kicking myself for not reading it sooner!!! (Oh and the cover - I LOVE THE COVER!)

I love all the surprises and the subtle hints that Julie Morgan wrote throughout the book. You had an idea of what was happening but she had a way of writing it so that you had to keep reading to find out for sure.

The mystery of it all keeps you turning the page, that's for sure. And Alex, oh Alex. How can someone NOT fall for Alex.

Lisa seems to have everything that a woman would want. She has just landed her dream job and it doesn't hurt that her boss isn't ugly either! Things start going weird for her though, when she starts seeing and hearing things that couldn't be there. She thinks she is completely losing it after an encounter in a public bathroom with what seems to be some form of demon, as crazy as it sounds.

And just when she thinks she's lost her mind for good - she meets Alex. Alex is hot, sweet, and has a lil mystery to him as well. Their attraction is immediate and as a reader, I loved falling in love with them!

It is shortly after that the book takes a surprising turn. I won't give anything away but Julie Morgan sure surprised me with this one. One second we're reading an everyday romance with some paranormal mystery to it and the next - BAM - we're in Hell - LITERALLY! All of a sudden it's a fight of good vs. evil. Alex's love for Lisa is tested while Lisa's soul is at risk. Does Alex love her enough to make the ultimate sacrifice?

This was a fantastic read. The 2nd book in the Chronicles of Fallen, Redemption is coming out soon and due to the shocking cliffhanger I was left with when reading Fallen, I'll be reading that one ASAP!

This one gets 5 stars for sure!

Okay, so at the halfway point, I totally caught onto A LOT about this book, because I write about demons myself. My hat is off to Julie for her ability to create well rounded characters. In my opinion, it takes a special kind of writer to pull off humor and darkness in the same book. This is the story about Lisa, an ambitious young woman who will do -anything- to reach the top. But you know what they say, be careful what you wish for....

Her boss is Samuel, handsome and desirable; the whole nine yards. But there is more to him than people may realize, and I'm afraid Lisa might realize it a little too late.

And then we have Alex, the seemingly sweet, shy, and very kind neighbor. Alex is just the kind of man that every woman would want to have in her life. Charming, funny, and so hilarious. He's got that sense of humor a girl could just faint over. He, too. will be a piece of the puzzle that makes this such an amazing read. If you like demons and angels like I do, and especially if you've done your research, PLEASE pick up this book today. You will NOT regret it!

With all the hype about vampires and werewolves circulating in this day and age, I was really wanting something different and, boy, did I find it. If you like good vs. evil, greed, lust, pain, hate, power, love, passion, and angles vs. demons, you have GOT to get The Fallen. Julie Morgan really knows how to spin a tale and she made me wanting more at the end. If you want a book that you can sit down with and NOT want to put it down, this is definitely the one for you. I am SO looking forward to the next in the series.

Ordinarily I probably would not have looked at Fallen, but the front and back cover literally jumped out and grabbed me. Once I read the synopsis I knew this would be a great read and I was right. The characters are well define as is the story line, which drew me in immediately. As I sat down to read the pages turned into chapters. As I read I found that I was in for a wild, wicked and terrifying good time. If this is a taste of things to come from Julie Morgan, I expect to see her on the bestseller list especially with her first book "Fallen", I have fallen for her and her book.

Lisa was down on her luck looking for a job in marketing. Then the company that offered her a job was her dream job. She accepted without really reading the contract. A few years after working for the company and getting promoted things started happening to her that she couldn't explain. In walks Alex, he just moves in her building. He is suppose to watch out for her as he is her guardian angel but she doesn't know this. Her boss Samuel is a demon who wants to steal her soul. She doesn't realize any of this until one day her boss takes her and clouds her mind. Alex doesn't get to in time but what he does next to save Lisa is surprising. What does Alex sacrifice for Lisa? What happens to Samuel? How will things end up at the end ? It is all surprising and loving.

This book is AWESOME!!!!! Lisa Adams is headed into an interview for her dream job…she has to get it! She just has to! As she meets with Samuel, he is impressed by her work. He offers her the job and as she signs the contract, little does she know that there is a lot more to the contract she signs than meets the eye. After some time passes, Lisa has a few situations in which she believes either she is seeing things or losing her mind. Samuel seems to become interested in her. Samuel is extremely sexy, but Lisa knows that it’s not such a good idea to get involved with the boss. Then…Lisa meets Alex Carter in the mailroom of her building. Alex is gorgeous, with blonde hair and beautiful blue eyes. Their friendship grows into love and both want more…except Alex can’t. Answers will be provided as to why he can’t, but not as quickly as needed. Lisa is being pursued…by evil…and evil is very impatient. The remainder of the story is a quick roller coaster ride of good vs. evil. An amazing story of love, sacrifice, and redemption! All I can say is READ THIS BOOK…and WHERE IS THE NEXT ONE? :)

I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads.

I really liked the premise of this book and the characters that were created.

There were a few editing mishaps in the book, but nothing that bothered me enough to stop reading.

I look foward to the next book in the series and can't wait to see what's in store for the Alex and Lisa.

Lisa Adams started her dream career as a PR agent, little did she know it would change the course of her life forever. Her boss, Samuel, begins to show subtle advances towards her, flirting here and there. Tall, dark and handsome, how could she possibly resist.

When Alex literately knocks his way into he life, she is completely enthralled. Their easy going relationship grows quickly. She feels as if she's known him her entire life. Alex has a light about him, something she can't get enough of.

Torn between these two men, she faces challenges she never knew would exist. Samuel seduces Lisa, signing away her soul to him the day she signed the contract to work for him, it is time for him to collect. By tricking her, her soul is his, to torture in the pits of hell. Only Alex cannot stand to let her go so easily.

Can Alex save Lisa, return her soul in exchange for his own?

I enjoyed the dark and light side of this story. The evil verses good. The detail that Julie Morgan put into each and every page set the scenes easily. The character banter was fantastic and I really enjoyed watching Alex and Lisa's relationship grow. I can't wait to see what she comes out with next!

Enjoy <3

I really enjoyed this book. This is my First with Julie Morgan and will not be my last.
Lisa has dreams and thinks she has finally found the job for her. We then follow Lisa as she finds things are not what they seemed to be on the surface. Who knew Angels and Demons were really real. I cant wait to read the next in the series.

I read this book and the other two in the series, in a weekend binge. I couldn't put them down. Meg Collet is a shining star and what all authors, indie and traditional should be... great story tellers, with interesting characters that drive the story.

3.5 stars - ARC received for honest review

I really enjoyed the premise of the story - demons, angels, who will she choose.

I liked Lisa - she seems to be a strong, steadfast woman. She is thriving in the career she loves, and everything is all going to plan. And for once she is not a whiney, complaining, procrastinating and weak, character

The first about 20% of the story felt a bit schizophrenic, jumping from character to character, and for a while there I felt a bit perplexed as to what was happening

But then things started to settle down and I became really engrossed in the story.

And the two "men" in Lisa's life. Her boss, Samuel, who has recently beome a lot more flirtatious with her, and has become a lot more suggestive with what he want with her. And her sexy neighbour, Alex, who drops into her life and changes her for the good.

Neither man is what they seem, and we get taken on a ride to discover who they are and what they want from Lisa. I was unsure if I wanted Lisa to be with Samuel or Alex (at least until we found out more about them). But in the end, Team Alex all the way.

Through their stories, we find out what people would be willing to give up for the one they love, and the consequences of the decisions they make.

Unfortunately for me, I felt that the last 10-15% if the book again lost the fluidity of the middle part of the book, and felt that we were rushed towards the conclusion of this story, only to find we'd been cliffhangered!!

Perhaps a little more time could have been spent to get our characters to where they were at the end, instead of everything being wrapped up as quickly as it was?

But this may be just me, and you will all have to read Fallen yourself and see what you think.

Fallen is a good debut novel from Ms Morgan, and I know that I will go ahead and read the next book when it comes out, to learn what happens to Lisa, Alex and the other players in this book.

I will admit I thought the book started out a bit slow, but once I got past the first two chapters I was hooked. I really enjoyed it and though I have not yet started the second in the series, I do have it. I will be reading that one very soon. I don't really care what anyone thinks about it, how can you not fall in love with Alex? I have already recommended this book to some of my friends and will continue to do so!

Review: ★★★★★
Five wickedly sexy stars for Fallen! Fallen opens in New York City. Lisa is just like any other woman. She wants to be successful in life, but she also wants to be happy. When the perfect job falls into her lap, it would seem that she has it all: a career that many would covet, good friends, men interested in her, and general happiness. Unbeknownst to Lisa, her job is not all it seems, and neither is her boss, Samuel.

Samuel seems like a great person to work with. He is charismatic, though a bit mysterious, easy going, and fun. Nothing is missing, or so it would seem. The problem is that Samuel is not what he seems. Evil seldom looks evil head on, especially when it is out for your soul, and Samuel wants Lisa’s soul.

Alex is Lisa’s new neighbor. He is kind, fun to be with, and a gorgeous ray of sunshine, but even good guys have things to hide. As Lisa’s relationship with Alex progresses, so does Samuel’s attempts to steal Lisa’s very being, and he is not one easily thrown aside. There are fireworks everywhere when the intentions of Samuel collide with the goodness of Alex. With Lisa in between these two warring beings, anything is possible.

This book was very special to me. I’ve known the author, Julie Morgan, for 26 years. How she’s had all of this in her head for all her life is a mystery to me. I love the characters in this book. Yes, even Samuel, because you can’t have goodness without evil! For me, the most impressive facet of this book is the rich descriptions of Hell, and the angels and demons. Obviously, Ms. Morgan has never been to Hell, but from her descriptions, you might think she’d had firsthand experience. The reading of those scenes is actually stressful. Her grasp on angels and demons is no less impressive. They are strong, beautiful, and at many times, terrifying. That Julie Morgan successfully pulls off a great love story in the midst of this, is nothing short of ingenious in my opinion. It’s a tall order, but man, she comes through. I feel so proud to have watched this story evolve, and I am equally excited about being a part of the next one in the series: Redemption!

What would you be willing to sacrifice for the person you love? Would you pay the ultimate price for love?

Lisa Adams studied marketing at Princeton and now she has plans to make it to the top PR firm around. What price is she willing to pay to be the top? Her boss seems to be hitting on her and he is not easy to resist. The new man in her building is handsome and charming, but there’s something she just can’t put her finger on.

WOW, that’s really all I can say about this book, WOW!! I have honestly NEVER read a book quit like Fallen. I kept my on the edge of my seat trying to figure the story out. This book doesn’t fit in just one genre. It is loaded with suspense, horror, romance and erotica, it has EVERYTHING! I had my suspicions about the story line, but wasn’t quite sure if I was right but when my suspicions where confirmed the story got even better, OH MY. There were not a lot of sex scenes but what was there was HOT, steamy, fantasy inducing. I LOVED this book and cannot wait for the next one. I give Fallen 4.5 stars and 4 hands down the pants.

At the beginning of Fallen, Lisa Adams is having a great day. She was just hired into a large PR agency. She is over the moon. Fast forward five years and Lisa is comfortable in her life. Her job is excellent and she has everything she wants except a boyfriend to share the success with.
She suddenly starts getting the attention of her boss. He seems to be looking at her differently. This is also the time that the weird dreams and hallucinations start happening.
As her life is not complicated enough, she meets her gorgeous new neighbor. Those blue eyes are calling her name. She feels so safe with him. Who will she choose? One is dark and one is light.

I love books that have to do with angels and demons. Sometimes I like the demons better. At the beginning of the book I like Samuel but when Alex was introduced I jumped ship. The book has great descriptions. At times, I felt sad for Alex but I think I feel worse for Samuel. I want him to be redeemable. The end left me wanting to read more about these characters and their fate.

3/5 Fangs.

Okay so let me just start off by saying that the reason this is a 2 star read for me instead of a 1 star is because the potential is there. It's obvious the author has an outline, a direction of where she wanted the story to go, but the execution of it wasn't very good. I feel like I should also mention that PNR is my absolute FAVORITE genre to read. I'm especially intrigued by stories of fallen angels, demons, and the whole battle of good vs. evil. So the problem isn't that I was reading something out of my comfort zone. I was immediately drawn to this book by the synopsis alone and couldn't wait to start reading, but as I mentioned above I was disappointed.

I had quite a few issues with this book making it extremely difficult to enjoy. I typically love books written in the third person, but I had a hard time getting into this one. Mostly because every other sentence started with "Lisa..." or "Her/She..." making it more like a sequence of events instead of a smoothly told story. I was really trying to overlook the awful third person narrative but it got to be too much and towards the middle it just became full blown chaotic and all over the place. It wasn't flowing much to begin with but it completely went off track by the middle to end. The end of the book had me even more frustrated. It's a retelling of all the "action" that took place in the middle. Everything you've already read is recapped. Whereas most authors would just say that the character told another what happened, in this one the reader gets told AGAIN what happened.

I'm sure that Ms. Morgan was going for a suspenseful intriguing read here but everything is spelled out for you, you're not allowed to draw your own conclusions based on a suspenseful buildup, you're just given the info and key details are revealed matter of factly. I'm not asking for a cryptic story line or anything too complicated, I just want to be surprised, shocked, awed, etc. by all the big revelations. That didn't happen here. And as the action picked up it just got to be too chaotic and confusing. There's no smooth transition between scenes, it's rough and rushed and just cuts from one scene to the next. The characters weren't believable at all and need way more developing. Their interactions with each other and everything that occurs between them is just plain awkward and forced.

I'm not trying to be harsh with my review, I'm just stating the facts. I believe in giving HONEST feedback on everything I read. Whether I like a book or not I'm going to let you know. I did read this book in its entirety and really can't recommend it. I'm not even interested in reading the next book, even with all the unanswered questions in the air.

This story has potential, but I found I had some issues that made this book just not work for me. There are a lot of things that happen that are just unbelievable. I know this is a paranormal but either way the characters don't react to each other in a way that one would expect, Lisa particularly is oblivious to a lot of the things that go on around her or she chooses to ignore them (employment contract, strange behavior of her boss, among other things). There are also several places where there is a complete lack of description. You will read about "hell hounds" but there is essentially no description of them. Overall, the story had potential so I gave it 3 stars. I can't say I didn't like it but I can't say I did either. I think with some reworking this story could be a lot better.

Grade: B+ (Four Stars)

What a interesting paranormal romance! This book started out slow for me. Might be a personal thing, but it didn’t grab me right off the bat. I was pulled in once things got going and I’m completely glad for that! This is a fantastic book, and I am only on the four star, and teetering really close to five, because I like books to grab me right away. Personal preference. This a paranormal novel, it’s got a lot more going on under the surface. Yes, Lisa works at a PR firm, and she’s good at what she does, and her hott boss is hitting on her. We’ve seen that story, but what Morgan does differently in this book is introduce the supernatural elements. That’s what makes this book different then all the others! This is a battle of heaven and hell, and Lisa signed herself on to the wrong side. Alex, the wonderful sweet counterpart to the evil boss, is going to fight for Lisa no matter what it takes. This was a good story, once I got into it, it kept me reading, and I was engaged. I don’t usually read romances, unless they are paranormal, but this was pretty good. The sex scenes were quite steamy for those of you who look for that in a read, you will not be disappointed. Overall, this is a great read! Don’t miss this! Big things coming for Julie Morgan! :)

Also poor Lisa starts to think that she's somehow gone bat-shit crazy with the hallucinations she begins to have.

I read the reviews before starting the book, which at the time all of them were raving. I have to say, I am severely disappointed. The beginning was interesting but failed after the first chapter where things took a right turn into the land of complete confusion.
Lisa is looking for satisfaction in her life: the right job, the perfect man, and so on. She is offered a spectacular opportunity to see some of it come into fruition with a brand new job. Unfortunately after she signs up the book kind of falls. There are too many questions left unanswered, and some things that flat out make no sense. It jumps immediately into a five year time skip were suddenly everything gets odd all at once. Her boss is interested in her (which you read in the blurb, but why does it take five years to get there?), a paranormal spin pops up where Lisa acts totally unfazed but it's all brand new to her, I could go on for awhile about it. Maybe the next book to explain some of these things, but it still wouldn't help with the unrealistic additions added into the character development and plot line.
The writing itself was hard to read through. It seems to jump tenses, has too much unneeded detail, and at some points has a forced feel to it. I wish I could have connected better with the characters but it never got to that point. About half-way through I started to skim to the end- which was absolutely predictable.
I did not enjoy this and definitely won't buy the next one when it comes out, the remaining questions are not that important to me.

I was given this ARC by the author, for an honest review and so I shall deliver.

The Review:

“Description begins in the writer’s imagination, but should finish in the reader’s.” ― Stephen King, On Writing.

The above quote sums up the main issue I had with this book. It had WAY too much description. Painting a picture is great, but when nothing...and I mean NOTHING is left to my imagination, it upsets me. Why? Because it's unneeded and unwanted filler. Part of the excitement I get from reading books is being able to paint my own picture. An author's job is to set a scene, yes, but don't go into unnecessary details. It's distracting and borderline insulting to the reader. We ARE capable of using our own imaginations.

[BOOK QUOTE]Turning on the ignition, the car purrs to life, the LED lights illuminating the tan leather dashboard; the GPS map coming to life, providing the location of where the car is currently sitting; and music begins to play, Lisa nodding her head along to the beat. After pulling on their seatbelts, Lisa puts the car into drive and pulls out of the garage, onto the open road for their night on the town. The buildings in downtown Manhattan are lit up, the lights glowing in the evening shade. Building after building is lined with florescent-colored lights that illuminate the area. People are walking on the sidewalks, cars attempting to drive down the busy street.[END BOOK QUOTE]

Yes this is one paragraph, yes the sentences run together. This has been copied and pasted directly from the book without any alterations.

The above paragraph is the prime example of the issue I have with the entire book.

* Over description - This entire paragraph could have been summed up in this one sentence: "Lisa started her car and pulled onto the busy, illuminated Manhattan street."
* Repetition of same word or same meaning - Lights, illuminate, glow, etc.

Now that my little pet peeves are out of the way, I’ll get down to my other issues.

Lisa is a very intelligent, success driven woman. I really admire that about her. However she loses that intelligence when she signs away her soul, via a job offer, because she only skimmed over the contract. From the time I could sign my name, my mother told me to ALWAYS read something before signing it, especially the fine print. I can't believe someone at her success level could be so stupid. But I guess it's possible.

5 years later, Lisa begins to see red eyes in shadows, a man with red eyes in the mirror, blood running from faucets, etc. She shakes this off as imagination or lack of sleep. Umm....I'd be calling a dang Psychiatrist or an exorcist. Who ignores that scary crap!? That's right...Lisa does.

Now the male characters. Samuel(aka bad guy) he's Lisa's dark, mysterious and sexy boss. Let's just say he has special gifts that Lisa has a tough time resisting. I can't say I really blame her. He sounds yummy. All the way from his sexy chiseled body, down to his {Book quote}"brilliant red tie. The tie has black lines, in sporadic patterns, scattered throughout."{end book quote}

Alex(aka Selaphiel, aka the good guy) is sexy and sweet. The kissing scenes between the two are pretty steamy. I loved him. UNTIL...this part:

[BOOK QUOTE]Selaphiel, the [spoiler removed], stands over Lisa and looks down upon her body. As much as he would like to admit his feelings for her, he cannot. The love he feels for her, the love he’s always felt for her, is much like the love a father would feel for his child.[END BOOK QUOTE]

Umm....what?

The Good Points:

The Ending: It was sweet but predictable.
Hell: The descriptions were dark, disturbing and imaginative.
The "Fall": Dark, disturbing and very imaginative.

My Final Thoughts:

I’ve seen a few 4 and 5 stars for this book, so there is a good chance I’ve allowed my pet peeves to overshadow the story. I don’t know.

What I DO know is, I was asked for MY HONEST opinion by the Author...and I have given that.

There is a quote that goes around the internet and it’s accredited to MANY people, so I don’t know who exactly said it, but it is soooo true!

“In a sense, one can never read the book that the author originally wrote, and one can never read the same book twice.”

Definitely a must read if you love paranormal romance that involves angels and demons!

The story was incredible - it mixed a steamy romance with a battle between good vs evil. I thought the story was well written and the characters were well developed. Lisa Adam was a great character and was believable - she was a hard worker and has her eye on being a success. And her reaction when she first meets Alex was hilarious and also realistic (but I would not have been graceful as she was and probably would have fallen on my face!).

It is hard for me to believe that this is Julie Morgan's first novel! She does a great job of writing scenes that made me jump and had my skin crawling. But I did find at times that the author over described things (for example - taking the dress off the hanger, stepping into the dress, zipping up the dress, etc) which at first made me want to stop reading. But a friend encouraged me to continue on, which I am glad I did. If it weren't for the over description at times I would have given this a higher rating. But I am looking forward to reading the next book (that cliffhanger of an ending makes me want to know what happens!!).

If you are a fan of paranormal romances mixed with action then you should definitely read this book!

Great debut novel! This book does start a little slow giving you a lot of info all at once but picks up speed fairly quick..keeps you guessing.you really don't know who the bad guys are or how many they are.the characters are well thought out and the female lead is not whinny and boring.. She has a lot of spunk and works hard to get what she wants.
Lisa the female lead is great all are good qualitys are also her down fall.. You have to be careful what you wish for.. And sometimes things ppl say should be takin literally..she works her way up the latter and becomes a partner in her firm..
Samuel you can't quite get a fix on him..he is def. hot . He is the guy that hires Lisa to the firm in the beginning. Is he attracted to Lisa or is there something bigger happening?
Alex, hot, sweet, mysterious, Alex....yum...he shows up one day in Lisa's apartment mail room... Attraction at first sight.. Lisa and Alex start dating..but something's off..what could it be?

Will Lisa get everything she wants? Will it cost her everything?

As a lover of paranormal books, I am always intrigued to read stories of angels and demons. When I was asked to guest review this book for Feisty Girls Book Blog, I became excited to read Julie’s debut novel, Fallen.

The overall premise of book is a personal favorite of mine…GOOD vs. EVIL. When you throw in a HOT guardian angel and A HOT demon boss, it drew me in to the book even more, because I am totally a book smut slut (I OPENLY admit it!). GIVE ME HOT SEXY MEN ANYDAY… GOOD OR BAD…I LOVE THEM ALL! **fanning myself.

Although I enjoy reading details in a story, I felt in many parts Ms. Morgan was too descriptive on areas that were irrelevant to the storyline. To me, those extra details sometimes made me lose interest in the scene that I was currently reading.

Also while reading this book, I would one moment, be engulfed in the story, but then it would skip and jump entirely to another scene. It confused me enough to make me have to read the parts over, just to ensure that I didn’t miss anything relevant. In some areas, I felt the story was building very well, but then it would rush too quickly to the next part. I would have especially liked to have seen more of a love triangle between Samuel, Lisa, and Alex, rather than a planned seduction for her soul. I didn’t feel the story explained enough of why her soul was even at risk in the first place.

The book’s ending was extraordinarily written. I immensely enjoyed the self- sacrificing of the angel Alex to save Lisa’s soul from Samuel in the depths of Hell. The author makes you feel the emotion and love that Alex feels for Lisa when he choses to give up everything for the woman he loves.

Overall, I found this book to be a good read. I just found it sketchy and over detailed in parts. For a debut novel, I applaud Ms. Morgan of her writing in the challenging paranormal genre field. I will be very interested to see where the story goes from here in the sequel to this book. I rate this book a 3.75 stars.

I loved this book. It was simple, but deep... meaning it wasn't all over the place. Of course there were times that I had to stop what I was reading, stoically look up and as myself "what the H just happened?" You crave the evil, but fall in love with the good. I mean really fall in love with. I cant say too much because I am afraid of giving something away and I would hate to ruin anything for anyone. I can promise you though, that through out this book you will fall deeper and deeper into the plot. Julie does such a wonderful job of putting you into the book, you will fear, love, hate, want to cry and at some points your jaws going to hit the floor like, wtf just happened. Then when you are done you will wish for more!

This is a new author for me and a new series. I was a bit confused as to what was going on at first but as I kept on reading I realized it was not your average romance with a typical storyline. It took a while to figure out all the angles in this book but it was such a fun read. I just had to be patient as Ms. Morgan has given us a very complex world and did a great job of providing the details of it. However, the reason I gave this only four stars is because there were parts that did seem to be too much information all clumped together as opposed to integrated into the story. Also, I got lost on days a couple of times, as in I had to reread to figure out the exact number of days that have passed or even if the story was still on the same day. I am currently reading the second book in the series and that one is going better because I now have the background from the first.

I really enjoyed reading this book. I thought it was a different take on the whole Angels and Demons genre and had great imagery. My only complaint is that it wasn't longer! :0) You can easily finish it in one sitting which is great for someone who doesn't have much time to read. I highly recommend this book!

"The author, Julie Morgan, has written an interesting novel that will appeal to quite a few paranormal romance fans. The concept of a demon incubus staking claim on an unsuspecting soul is a fascinating one. The story itself is well thought out and enjoyable, however there are a few areas that need the writing tweaked." - Iva

I wasn't sure what to expect from this book. But I found myself sucked in and also screaming at one point " Don't do it" . I felt that the spunky characters were brought to life and loved that Alex was very slow starting the relationship with Lisa. I enjoyed the mix of good, bad and evil.

How many of us have ever thought about this...would you sacrifice everything for the one that you love?

After all the hype about vampires and werewolves, I was looking for something different and, boy, did I find it. Julie Morgan weaves an awesome tale about good vs. evil, lust, greed, power, love, hate, angels vs. demons...what more could you ask for? The Fallen really delivers a story that makes you think. I loved this story from the first page. It starts off strong and just gets better as it goes along. I can't wait for the second one because I have to see what happens :) I think Julie Morgan will go far as an author, and I'm going to be following her all the way.
