Review:This is the kind of book which keeps you on your toes. If you want a good read to pass the time, I suggest you check it out. Although Boland is a British author, I did not find myself confused by the jargon. Read more
Review:I have read the entire Honor Harrington series and was swept away by the first six or seven. However, they have tended to become longer and longer and to be filled with distracting subplots and scenes that contribute nothing to the development of the story. Furthermore, they seem to become less and less creative as the series goes on, and the main character becomes less and less sympathetic. This novel brings all these unfortunate tendencies to their greatest extreme.
Here is an exampl... Read more
Review:The Honor Harrington series is one of the few, like the Vatta series, that I come back to every few years.
There is a vibrancy in their heroic arcs.
There is a good balance of message, psychology, politics, battles, and mil-talk to keep readers engaged.
I remain amazed that any one person can attract, or chance upon, so much grief and grand crisis. Read more
Review:The movie makes more sense now! There are scenes in the book that I wish were in the movie. I did not find anything that I disliked. It was well written and did take away from the movie but added to it. I would recommend this book to any Star Wars fan. Read more
Review:It's interesting that Le Guin is now returning to Earthsea, first with her new collection of stories, apparently to be followed with another novel. It is telling that she has created a marvelous invention -- despite all promises, even she can't help returning to the scene.
It starts off well. A WIZARD OF EARTHSEA is an intense starting point. It describes a harsh realm, where, even with the aid of everpresent magic, life is tough, and survival is eked out. From here, Le Guin launches her fabl... Read more

Review:- There was a lot of set-up for a story that never developed.
This was my 1st K.V. book.
I usually read/scan reviewers; if a mix of both genders is represented, I find a better chance of enjoying the book. (And, it eliminates the 'fluff'.)
MARS VS VENUS -Interestingly, there were mainly male reviewers & the majority of these gave the book high marks. Of the few women represented, most seemed to agree with me...or, I with them.
Since the book is void of car chases,... Read more
Review:This book is 100% Max and friends. No Krian/Roman. If you have a problem with that, don't bother buying the book.
That said, it is of the same quality and adventurous spirit as the other books.
If you liked the previous books that had Max's POV, buy this book. If not, don't.
There are a few grammar errors, nothing too bad though. Read more
