Review:BUT to read on and on, sharing in the horror and then to just have the story STOP.??? I get it's a story that needs to be shared from the viewpoint of the victim child. But to not learn an outcome! Now I'm a victim of that family too. Perhaps Amazon should offer the series instead of just one at the lower price. Not knowing the adult end is heart wrenching Read more
Review:So many times as I read this book, I had to stop & put it down. What Tuesday went through was beyond what my mind could handle. This is by far, one of the best books of this type, that I have ever read. Read more
Review:Perfect level for my 10-year old daughter. We've picked our "secret" drop-off location and enjoy reading each others' entries. Neither of us typically write on a daily, or even weekly, basis, but this format is easy and enjoyable. Love it! Read more
Review:I keep re-reading so I can internalize the lessons. There are powerful lessons that may be difficult to practice or keep in mind when situation is intense. Very helpful for first time mom to highly spirited son. Read more
Review:Humorous and realistic, this book talks about the good and the bad...and gives hope throughout. When the sh!t hits the fan with your child this book helps put it in perspective and let's you know that others have dealt with similar stuff. Read more
Review:Great book and so true! I am a mom of two young children (6 and 4) and everything Renee writes is spot on! This book made me smile. Great gift for mother's day or for that mom that needs a drink! I recommend it! Read more
Review:It's alright. There isn't that many cool "expirements" you can do that you never really knew to begin with. My son is 1 now and I only actually tried about 10 of the expirements mentioned. This is more of a gift you would get for a new dad who doesn't know anything about babies. He would think this is the most amazing book ever, and you would seem like the coolest friend! Read more
Review:This book made me laugh until I cried..........Sh*tty Mom is what EVERY mother thinks (at SOME point in her motherhood), and don't kid yourselves Moms, you DO think this way! Nobody is perfect - least of all us mothers. We make mistakes, we learn from our mistakes, all the while trying to do the best we can with what we've got - trying not to screw up our kids along the way. Moms, this book will give you coping skills to get through your highest highs and lowest lows - with a laugh! Read more
Review:easy read and loaded with facts. several other books i read tried to go the humorous route which i understand, but didn't find nearly as useful. not that this book is dry, but it gets into the details (e.g., did you know you should keep any humidifiers at least 4 feet away from the crib to prevent bacteria growth? i didn't. and the 3 books i read before this one didn't mention it either).
well worth the read. lots of helpful charts and tables at the back if you are intent on tracking... Read more
Review:This book is great! Really does keep the drama at a very low level. In forty years of teaching, I have slowly come to these ideas, which are so well articulated and explained in this very readable book. Illustrations are a bit strange (comic drawings illustrating choices, good and bad, that parents make), but are helpful in illustrating concepts. So glad I purchased this book, and I recommend it often! Read more
