Family Relationships
Review:This book was received on time and in good condition. This was my second try at getting this rare Tepper book so I was glad to get it. My first buy was cancelled and I had to protest to get my money back. It pays to notice the buyers ratings on each seller. Read more
Review:This book is just amazing. I've read it over and over at times and every single time I read it, it hits home. I've recommended it so many times to different people. I needed this book to let go, I'm so happy I read it. Thank you! Read more
Review:While I admire Ms. Gay's attempt to share her journey with the reader, the book comes across as shallow and lacking genuine depth. Yes she told of the event that led to her lifelong battle but where is the inner work? Perhaps I missed it because I stopped reading. Ms. Gay if you haven't done so please consider therapy. Please fight for the 12 year old girl who so desperately needs healing. From what I read the 12 year old is not only traumatized from the actual event but she now carries the guil... Read more
Review:Book arrived quickly and was in condition as promised. In general, the book isn't really helpful to me, as I find it focuses on women who were raised by alcoholic parents and that is not my situation. However, there were points in it that I found insightful and gave me reason to think and consider. Read more
Review:I wish everyone who is in a manipulative relationship could read this book. It contains cold hard facts about abusive relationships and how to recognize abuse and abusers. No one should have to live with abuse whether it is physical or mental. This book also helps families of victims have a greater understanding of how abusers manipulate and can keep loved ones under their control. I was disappointed with the lack of a good editor for this book, so I only gave 4 stars. Worth reading though. Read more
Review:I am amazed about the way I feel my soul connected with the author's words while I'm reading this incredible book. It's an indescribable feeling, almost as if the book was written for me. I am the result of emotionally immature parents, and it's been a real struggle for me. Issues such as individuation vs. enmeshment, flexible vs. loose boundaries, parental expectations and fantasies have been struggles I've had to deal throughout my whole life. Dr. Gibson explains these and other neuralgic conc... Read more
Review:DO NOT BUY THIS BOOK!!!! I am so very disappointed in this book. It had very little to do with Cory. I feel like I was tricked into buying the book because the last one ended with Cory being alive. I thought it would be his story. Don't waste your money on this one if you are looking for answers. Although I have always been a huge fan of the Flowers books, this has now soured my opinion of VC Andrews books. Obviously whoever the ghost writer is, they are only in it to make money and do not care ... Read more
Review:I'd give this no stars if possible. No plot. One-dimensional characters. Corny dialogue. No new secrets revealed. It's obvious this book is doing nothing more than capitalizing on the VCANDREWS name, on FITA, and on the Lifetime movies. In sum: don't bother. Just re-read the original FITA if you want the revisit the book you loved as a teen. Read more
Review:For most old school fans of the series they are mad and I get it. But as someone who stumbled upon the series thanks to previews for FITA movie on lifetime I had questioned Cory's death. I liked how it's a more modern take on the story. At 34 in 2014 reading the series it was nice to see a difference in perspective. I wondered if Christopher had impure thoughts and how could he believe his mother. This cleared it up much more. People didn't like SOY either because they wanted to keep the grandpa... Read more
Review:This is the first review I have ever written. Normally I am the one who reads others reviews but never leaves one myself. This time I feel compelled to give my opinion because I am not a father or a male. I am female, newly married and trying to have kids. I know this book is entitled Raising Men and is geared towards fathers but I read it anyways.
I am giving it 5 stars because it doesn’t just to speak to men or how to raise sons . It is easy to apply most of what Eric says to raisin... Read more
