Review:LOVE that there is a resource like this for parents and kids. I didn't think the content was in any way inappropriate. I read it to my 5 year old boy and it didn't affect him in a negative way at all. Read more
Review:Given the amount of stress my wife feels reading baby books, this has been amazingly helpful when I need a little humor to give to my wife who's stressing out because we didn't know she was pregnant for the first 18 weeks, didn't expect to have kids, and really can not care about the babies "colors" everyone keep asking her about. Review:This book contains a handfull of excellent fatherhood tips and warnings you must tale into account. And thats it. The rest is a collection of very well told stories about a father struggling to survive. Doesnt feel quite like a survival guide either though, and it couldve been. This book is centered around the particular stories that made parenhood difficult and amusing for the author, some of which may necer apply to you. At any rate, it was an ok, fast paced read. Review:Excellent book! I wished I would've read it right after my divorce; it probably would've saved me some of my heartache. Judge's should order petitioners and defendants to read this book as part of their divorce decree. Read more
Review:The title of this invaluable book speaks for itself and it most certainly provides important insights and powerful lessons about protecting oneself and one's children from getting into the reach of the deadly predators in our world. Not only it gives great insights, but it would strongly help one to not to fall into the "trap."
I've enjoyed the author's writing style and she did a wonderful job on describing how the predators operate, which helps us to prepare any eventually and avoid our... Read more
Review:I loved this story written from the point of view of an English teenager on the beautiful Island of Corfu. He introduces in a funny and endearing way the life of his expat family in strange circustances (before the onslaught of mass tourism) and also makes you love his animals and discovery of birds and insect life. Recommended for the young and adults alike. Read more
Review:This doesn't seem like a finished book, and certainly doesn't meet the standards Anne La Mott sets for herself and her students. It's a repetitive, whiny, hodge podge of journal entries, emails, interviews with her son and endless conversations with her mentors, who have endless patience for her over-dramatizing and complaints. My biggest problem is with the writing itself. It's unpolished, and some of the sentences were like nails scraping a chalk board, full of cliches and language used in s... Read more
Review:I was first introduced to Sammy Maloney's story through Mystery Diagnosis, a Discovery Life television show that ended circa 2011 but is still shown in syndication. I find psychological symptoms and diagnoses fascinating, so when I heard there was a whole book about Sammy's journey, I was eager to get my hands on it.
Beth Maloney is the very definition of a persistent Mama Bear. She knows there's something wrong with Sammy and that the doctors are completely missing it. Even as her home l... Read more
Review:The essays in this book have been so restorative to me. Each one offers its own piece of wisdom, comfort, and solidarity that can only come from another woman in the "trenches" of motherhood. I've loved the sense of community I've gotten from reading the Coffee + Crumbs blog, but the book is distilled and full of wisdom and grace. Meant to be read in those fleeting naptime moments or school pick up lanes, these essays are like taking a deep breath of fresh air. After reading the first few essays... Read more
